12. Here’s another story for why I love the nation. As a fearless 50. Marketer. Marketo helped me overcome some serious fears.
I left science after 15 years at the lab bench walked away from my PhD, any use of my degree when I left fluidigm to work for a saas
company. I was scared shitless and I literally cried.
I had the strength to do that bec I went to summit for the first time in 2013 and it opened my eyes.
I got the confidence to interview for a demand gen mops job bec of everything that I learned from summit and mugs.
The sf mug leader gave me impactful advice on how to approach interviewing. Pretend you already have the job, teach them what
you know.
When I interviewed I was asked to present to the ceo a dg plan. Never done that before. I’ve always relied on my science background
and expertise to land a job. I was up late the night before til 3 am working on my deck and the sv mug leader offered to review my
deck and give me feedback before my interview.
What I ended up presenting was core concepts from what I learned from the nation and all the content. They loved it and I got the job.
I couldn’t have got to where I am without the ppl in the marketo ecosystem.
