3. Describing Narrative. Story + Plot = Narrative Story is the order in which events are told. The Plot is the events that happen within the story. Linear is where the plot is in the same order as the story (chronological order) Non-linear where plot is in a different order to the story (non-chronological order)

5. Narrative Example. ‘ Scientist’ – Coldplay In the scientist shows the plot backwards and the storyline is shown in reverse, as it is always shown forwards it has a non linear sequence. The scientist keeps people involved in watching as they don’t want to find out what happens in the end of the story, they want to find out what happens in the beginning instead.

Narrative Structure. ‘ What’s a girl to do’ – Bat for lashes In this video Equilibrium, dis-equilibrium, and new-Equilibrium could be argued for and against as the video starts off with the protagonist character cycling down a road in the dark, during the video four other bikers join her dressed as creatures from the woods, and then by the end of the video it is just the same as the beginning of the young venerable girl cycling down the same road
