1. Rate sensitives lead Sensex to close 46 points higher

Indian equity indices traded in green with modest gains through most of the session on buoyant cues from Asian
markets. All Asian indices except Taiwan closed in green as Chinese Central Bank has injected liquidity support to
meet the cash demand in the wake of Chinese New Year. Sensex edged 46 points higher whereas Nifty gained 10
points to close above 6300 levels. Rate sensitive counters topped the charts on sectorial front on hopes that RBI will
maintain the status quo on interest rates.
On stock specific front, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has offloaded it 2% stake in Bharat Forge at Rs 323.17 per
share aggregating Rs 150.53 crore. Shares of Bharat Forge gained 0.32% on BSE at Rs 346.10 per share. (Read

Sasken Communication Technologies has declared a special dividend of Rs 22.50 per share in addition to a special
dividend of Rs 2.50 rupees per share declared in October 2013. The stock rallied 6% on BSE.
Hindustan Zinc hit a new 52 week high of Rs 141.2 before closing at 135.2 (up 2%) as the CCEA has given its nod for

The retail counters Provogue India (3.91% up), Future Retail (2.67% up) and Shoppers Stop (0.67%) closed in green
as Commerce Minister Anand Sharma hinted for an appropriate course on Delhi's AAP govt decision of no FDI in multi
brand retail.

Asian Paints Dec Quarter Net dipped 1.46% at Rs 307.47 crore on Net Sales of Rs 2843.01 crore. The stock lost

Credit Analysis and Research Ltd (CARE) lost 0.73% on BSE at Rs 718 per share on posting a marginal 0.7% rise in
its Dec Quarter Net Profit. The Net Profit stood at Rs 28.02 crore as against Rs 27.82 crore in corresponding quarter a

Kotak Mahindra Bank shares lost 3% on BSE on posting 6% dip in its Q3 net at Rs 340 crore. The bank registered a
marginal 4.7% rise in its Net Sales at Rs 2192.3 crore. (Result)
The market breadth on the BSE closed in positive. Advancing and declining stocks were 1432 and 1276 respectively,
while 185 scrips remained unmoved.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 21251.12, up 46.07 points or 0.22%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low of
21302.52 and 21189.20 respectively. 15 stocks advanced against 15 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty gained 9.85 points or 0.16% to settle at 6313.80. The index touched high and low of 6330.30 and
6297.90 respectively. 26 stocks advanced against 24 declining ones on the index.

The S&P BSE Mid-cap index moved up to 6582.56 and gained 0.45% while S&P BSE Small-cap index jumped up by
0.39% to 6553.01.
The broader S&P BSE 500 index increased to 7784.28 (up 0.18%) and CNX 500 index rose to 4886.70 (up 0.17%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX gained 1.30% at 15.55 from its previous close of 15.35 on Monday.

On the BSE Sectorial front, Banks (up 1.55%), Automobile (up 1.03%) and Metals (up 0.77%) were the top gainers.
Information Technology (down 0.68%), Power (down 0.59%) and Oil & Gas (down 0.53%) were the top losers.
The Angels and the Devils
ICICI Bank (up 3.32%), Tata Motors Ltd (up 2.68%), Tata Steel Ltd (up 2.39%), Axis Bank (up 2.37%) and Sesa
Sterlite Ltd (up 1.56%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
2. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (down 2.46%), Coal India Ltd (down 2.45%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down
1.90%), GAIL (India) Ltd (down 1.59%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (down 1.43%) were the top losers on
the Sensex.

ICICI Bank (46.47 points), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (-39.26 points), Tata Motors Ltd (20.74 points), HDFC Bank
(15.33 points) and Reliance Industries Ltd (-11.24 points) were the major Sensex drivers today.
On the other end ICICI Bank (11.40 points), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (-9.87 points), Tata Motors Ltd (5.11
points), Reliance Industries Ltd (-3.45 points) and HDFC Bank (3.36 points) were the major Nifty movers today.
