2. Health-Care Bar Coding-Electronic Records
My Director, who controls the workings of the Medical Records Department,
another name for Health Information Management (HIM), immediately came to me today
as I entered at work. He was discussing with the Director of the Emergency Room
Department the dire need to put together a task force team that could help them
understand what type of system could be developed that would help them identify and
process medical records in an electrical manner.

An analysis of another database is needed by Riordan Manufacturing to create a Material
Requirement Planning (MRP) system to supervise and control raw materials in order to have organized
processing. This article will throw light on the abilities of our selected database to systemize raw materials on
the shelves properly for the purpose of cost barriers.

4. Trade-Off Design
Riordan Manufacturing requires a system which will organize their raw materials thus
increasing revenue and manage inventory problems: a task which has not been able to be
performed by any previous system. The system’s design is very significant. While the
process of designing, time, cost, performance and effectiveness are the factors that need to
be kept in mind. “A trade-off study refers to an assessment of your options done at a time
during the design process when a decision is important to be made between two different
options. It is also called trade study and it is a very advantageous facility so that the design
procedure is documented and the design scope remains within certain boundaries.”
(ArgoPress, 2005, p.1). The main factor involved in any design is cost so it should be
evaluated with care. Research, support, design and training are all parts of cost. Without
proper research and design, it is impossible for a system to be created successfully without
any errors.
6. Work-Related Project Analysis, Part I & II
Assembling once more in a week, the requirements needed for the implementation
of the bar-code system were discussed by the team. It was settled that the Systems
Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for this project has three main goals: guarantee that high
quality system is developed, provision of able management control over the project and
maximization of the efficiency of staff. For these goals to be completed there are certain
things that are expected from the team itself: providing support to departments of all ranks
and types throughout the facility, being supportive towards all technical activities and
management activities, being extremely efficient and assisting on the process of installation
(Bender RBT INC, 1984). The IT supervisor also threw light on the need of continuous
support availability for the staff when the system is being put into effect.
