Description:
The Green Hollow Court Outfall Restoration project was substantially completed on October 1, 2015.
The project consisted of the construction of a rock cascade and step pool system, 100 linear feet in
length, to stabilize a highly eroded outfall and to improve water quality. The project addressed some
serious safety concerns, stabilized a severely eroded outfall, and will improve water quality.
Project Overview:
• Constructed 100 linear feet of rock cascade using large, imbricated stone
• Tied a cross vane step pool into the downstream rock cascade using imbricated stone
• Stabilized channel banks using coir matting
• Revegetated disturbed area with native plants, trees and shrubs to promote reforestation
• Reduced Total Nitrogen by 3.9 lbs per year, Total Phosphorus by 1.7 lbs per year, and Total
Suspended Solids by 3,322 lbs per year
