I have a long experience as CIO in the international context, working for various multinational companies; capacity within
Production, Logistics, Procurement, Retail, and CRM; and years of experience as Team Leader, Lean Process in production,
feasibility analysis, cost / benefit / ROI. I have developed projects for Logistics (projects to define central warehouses
managed by RFID technology and semi-automatic), Retail (openings, start up of stores and roll out), Production area (daily
organization of the production chain with its programming), Purchasing (building of distribution processes and EDI

3. Competences Area
Retail Area. Store and Corner Shop Openings. Examples:
• Project: Opening of 2 new Zegna’s store in Mexico City. My responsibilities included the definition of
technological infrastructure and choice of suppliers for its realization. Security policies definition. Management sales and
CRM Software training targeted to users. Control costs and timing. Objective achieved on time.
• Project: Opening of 54 Corner shop within the structures of the Spanish chain “El Corte Ingles”. My activities
included the definition of technology supplier in this case, “Telefónica Ibérica”. Sales rules definition from Zegna to
“El Corte Ingles” to the final consumers. Coordination of staff involved in the software development for the management
of 54 Corner performed inside the Zegna group. Establishment of security policies and rules for data treatment, settled by
Zegna Company and “El Corte Inglés”. Selection of supplier to roll out the technology infrastructure of each corner.
Definition of CRM data collection policies according to current European and Spanish normative. Budget EUR 400,000.
Costs and timing control. Goal achieved on time.
Supply Chain Area. Projects oriented to improve the operational flow of the entire lifecycle of the Supply Chain. These
projects have seen my assistance in international environment managing multi-ethnic teams. Examples:
• Project: Automation of warehouse in radio frequency, Production Units in Spain. This project involved five
productive units in Spain. My activities included analysis for the implementation of the automatic restructuration selecting
also the right technology suppliers for the packaging mobile chains realization and delivery docks in the shipping yards.
Use of RFID technology to facilitate and improve goods preparation activity. Security policy active and passive definition.
Training to users and IT system roll out. Cost and timing control. This project was completed on time with a saving of 20 %
over budget.
• Project: Supply Chain, Brand and Retail ERP Group Definition. This project was developed in three years of
work, from 1999 to 2002, and involved about 40 persons between internal and suppliers’ staff. I did feasibility analysis,
requirement analysis, coordination of internal staff and suppliers. On the Supply Chain and Brand part I coordinated the
software creation, which was fully realized internally. While for the Retail was an external company who made the
application. ERP is currently still in use.
4. Operations Area. In this context I have defined a series of projects aimed at improving the operation of the production
cycle of a single unit of Production Group. The chosen solution was applied and subsequently implemented to all
production units located in different geographic areas worldwide. Example:
• Project: Improvement of production flow and automation among the involved departments. This project
involved all Departments, Business Units and Production Units for improving the time and quality of the entire production
cycle. I was in charge of the analysis of critical production, analysis of corrective actions, coordination for a software
development linking purchasing, inventory, scheduling and production activities. Choice of technology partner for the
introduction of control points in the production chain. Collection of times and defect analysis for production improvement.
Introduction of statistical monitoring cyclic and final. Training to department heads and line managers for the use of new
analytical and control tools. Roll-out of information systems at all production units situated in Spain, Turkey, Mexico, Italy,
Switzerland and China. Budget EUR 1,550,000. Costs and timing control. Objective achieved on time.
Project Management Area. Management, organization and coordination of projects for the expansion of the
Business Unit. Example:
• Project: Construction of new production plant in Turkey and removal from the old location. This project was
realized in 10 months in which I coordinated some building tasks regarding the IT infrastructure following the
cabling, networking and space definition of the Data Centre; definition of the complete revision of the entire
technological infrastructure, choice of the technology suppliers (IBM Istanbul, Turkish Telekom). Organization of the
removal, safe transport control, coordination of installation, roll out and start up of new IT Systems. Budget EUR 1,200,000.
Costs and timing control. Objective achieved on time.
Infrastructure area. Measures to improve the branches local communication and the group communication. Improvement
in data transmission performance, reception and telephony costs abatement, introducing the VOIP technology. Example:
• Project: Network realization for Ermenegildo Zegna Co., in Mexico. Project done in four months, in which I
have organized the selection for the technology supplier, feasibility analysis and negotiation and settling of agreement for
three years with automatic renewal and the roll-out the entire new configuration of the communication network. Goal
achieved: Choice of the best supplier’s proposal , AT & T Mexico. Contract for three years at fixed cost for USD 300,000.
Services provided by AT & T including network performance monitoring, network devices control with intervention for
anomalies in no more than 12 hours. 2 data networks / VOIP in MPLS 4 MB, one network back up to 4 MB in MPLS, 13
MPLS technology networks with
512MB for data / VOIP for linking owned stores. Costs and timing control. Objective achieved on time.
5. Purchasing Area. In this area I coordinated and defined actions to improve the daily quality of people
performance, enhancing the company image, I defined projects that helped the purchasing management
performance and the improvement regarding the data exchange with third-party suppliers of both, raw material
and finished product. Example:
• Project: EDI connection to third party suppliers. This project implied the involvement of the most important
suppliers of raw materials of the Ermenegildo Zegna Group regarding accessories such as linings, under collar,
buttons, consumables, fabrics; and finished products as shirts, suits, sportswear line, accessories such as shoes,
bags, glasses, perfumes and the like. My tasks also included the realization of feasibility analysis and coordination
of software development for linking the purchasing center with all suppliers mentioned above agreed EDI
standard. In this project was created a portal to connect all suppliers which entered the data related to 'life cycle
of their product to shipping to central warehouses of the Zegna group. Benefits: improvement of information
exchange, greater control over delivery, greater control over external production, optimization of delivery
regarding the purchase orders. Costs and timing control. Objective achieved on time.
Sales Management Area. Business consulting in reorganization of commercial department working for software
manufacturing companies. Involved activities: Market analysis and customer requirements. Definition of deals.
Sales strategy definition. Definition of strategic business alliances. Example:
• Project: Commercial Department organization of ITC services company. I have been in charge of the
whole project, realizing Portfolio Customer Analysis, Market Analysis, Sales Strategy Definition (Marketing,
Advertising and Promotion), Organization of business alliances with other similar companies of the same sector
to enter the market with a complete offer, definition of economics and reorganization of methods for the product
promotion. Over the past four months I have encouraged the increment of company turnover by 8% for which I
currently work with as a consultant.
6. The mentioned projects above are the most significant. In all these areas I have coordinated groups from a minimum of 10
to a maximum of 40 people. All projects are documented with progress reports and graphs for better understanding of
costs and comparison between preliminary and final budgets.

Hobbies
I consider myself a curious person, interested in new technologies looking for enlarging my knowledge with the
objective to improve my personal and professional quality and also to satisfy the company requirement. I like the
complex challenges and I have no problems for working under pressure. I like to work in multiethnic teams for knowing
new cultures and facing me with people in order to enrich my experience and background.
