2. Chapter 6 Caesar wasn’t the only one who stood up to the cruelty of the Spanish empire. At one point the Spanish united the kingdoms with Portugal. The catholic monarchy stretched it’s power all over the world minus parts of Asia. During the eighty year war between the Dutch and the Spanish, Their empire began to suffer. Then the nail in the coffin was inflation. This many happened because of their lust for gold. The Dutch came up, on there lose and soon over throw Brazil and several other provinces belonging to Spain.
3. Chapter 7 During this time period Politics and religion where to often confused, Yet New technologies in navigation and sailing contributed to the expansion of European powers. Naturally civil conflicts in Europe brewed, and before long the bloody thirty year war. Even though the Spanish were concerned will just wealth it was there neighboring country whom completely concerned with trade.
4. Chapter 8 I found it ironic that the British claimed to make a society that consisted of liberty, yet the newly founded colonies overseas were built mostly by slaves. Slaves were extremely common during this era, everything was done on a large scale. Slavery carried on through much of the late nineteenth century yet it lasted in Brazil tell around 1888.
