Migration is the permanent
movement of persons from
one geographical location
or region.

MIGRATION. There are two sides,
EMIGRATION and IMMIGRATION.
Together they make up the migration.

4. EMIGRATION
This when persons leave their
place of residence (their home
or country) and move to
another for a number of
reasons.

5. When someone leaves his
country to go to another we call
that OVERSEAS or
INTERNATIONAL migration.

6. When people leave rural areas
(country-side) to go to urban
areas (towns and cities), we
call that RURAL TO URBAN
MIGRATION.

7. When people move from
place to place within the
country, we call that
INTERNAL MIGRATION.

8. MIGRATION
This occurs
when people
leave one
country or state
to settle in
another.
This refers to
the movement
of people who
have changed
their residence
within a country.

Crime and violence
Poor educational opportunities
Limited or no jobs
Lack of basic infrastructure

10. PULL FACTORS
Political stability
Low crime rate
Proper infrastructure- roads,
telephone, internet, housing,
electricity ect.
Availability of jobs
