Iphone Advancements
How often do you update your phone and wonder what's new now? Smartphones have allowed us to
do things that are unbelievably, the advances throughout the years made are everyday life easier,
now with one look to a phone can unlock it, which only happens on a Iphone. Most people are
always fascinated to see the newest Apple update release, since its things that can only occur on a
iphone. However, updates aren't always the best. Sometimes just trying the new details can make
you understand why things are done a way. For example in the iphone industry to get an app it was
always required to put in a password, now with one fingerprint it will download. Nowadays
everyone wants an iphone, because of the cool updates and looks. But that's not it there's more to
iphone than on a android, the fact that there is more to it like facetime, ... Show more content on

In the imessages there is more privileges than anything, for example there is games that you can
play, there is Apple pay, there is a digital touch that can explain how you're feeling, and can even
send a text message with effect like fireworks popping all over your screen. Also if you're an
impatient person it lets you know when someone has read or is typing, but if your texting a person
who has an android it will not let you know. In many ways iphone has been better than android. Lets
just talk about the camera quality that iphone has, which comes with different ways like portrait, is
when it blurs out the background and gives the person or whatever is being taking the picture the
many interest. Lets not forget taking live pictures, are pictures that you have to press on to see a
show clip of what happen at that moment.

Resilience Advancements
Introduction The world is undergoing constant change. The advancements being made to our society
is made by people with big dreams. These people have the drive to do something creative. They are
changing the world one step at a time. Each step brings them closer to filling the mould they have
created for the world. Resilience First off we have Resilience. This one is important, you can't give
up when times get tough. If that was the case many inventions we have today would not exist. An
example of this is with Galileo Gelilei he was arrested for his discoveries and beliefs but he didn't
stop believing in his cause he pushed on and continued his work at home even with minimal
resources. This is a good example of resilience as it shows that when people are putting you down
ignore them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This trait helps you to continue on after failing multiple times. Nothing is easy and nothing will
work the first time. That's what your mindset should be, knowing that you will have to put
continuous work into something for you to be successful. An example of perseverance is with Colin
Murdoch. He was born with dyslexia which affected his childhood drastically as he found work
much harder to do. He overcame his dyslexia and was able to do something great in return. He
created the first disposable syringe and the tranquiliser gun proving that even with things like
dyslexia you can still do great things. Patience: One key characteristic is patience. This is important
to learn as you can't expect everything to happen instantly. Knowing that you will have to constantly
work at something for it to be great is a big step towards inventing something. It is asinine to believe
that you can invent something without putting the proper work in. Patience is a virtue that sadly
very little people have so it may be one of the toughest things to deal with during the process of
inventing. If you are able and willing to put the time in your efforts will pay off.

National Association For The Advancement Of Colored...
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
Born from the Niagara Movement, led by William E. B. DuBois, the NAACP has had a volatile
birth and a lively history (Beifuss 17:E4). The impetus for the creation of the National Association
for the Advancement of Colored People came in the summer of 1908. Severe race riots in
Springfield, Illinois, prompted William English Walling to write articles questioning the treatment
of the Negro. Reading the articles, Mary White Ovington and Dr. Henry Moskowitz were compelled
to meet with Walling. Consequently, the three along with a group of black and white citizens had
considered the present state of the Negro, disfranchised in the South and taxed while ... Show more

The early success was due in large part to the interracial membership (Franklin 91). A large part of
the membership consisted of white socialist and liberals (Franklin). For some time the NAACP was
white– led. In time the Association became black dominated; Specifically, under the guidance of
James Weldon Johnson. During the rule of Johnson, the NAACP began to form its reputation for
using litigation. Although many of the NAACP's landmark cases did not occur until the 1950's and
1960's, the foundation was laid in the
1920's and 1930's. In short the National Association for the Advancement of
Colored People transformed from a white dominated, infantile organization too the first black led
organization, which influenced Congressional legislation under Harding's administration. During the
next twenty years, the NAACP would be embattled in court cases which changed the face of
America. One of the landmark cases that occurred, Brown v. Board was argued by lead attorney
Thurgood
Marshall (Lang F12). Another case which created opportunities for blacks, was
Open Housing Act of 1968. Under this law it became illegal to refuse to sell property solely based
on race. Since that time in which the blacks truly gained their civil rights, the NAACP tried to
register 3 million voters throughout the
South (Jenkins). Indeed the most productive period of National Association for the Advancement

Transportation in the future will allow for faster and safer ways of travelling. Currently, there are
many airplanes, bullet trains, and cars that have advanced technologies included, but higher quality
technology will soon be added. Tesla recently introduced a car with autopilot system that can drive
on its own, change lanes, and adapt to the different speed limits (Tesla Autopilot). According to
Business Insider, "approximately ten million self–driving cars will be on the road by the year 2020"
(Self–Driving Cars). This new technology of self–driving cars will help make the roads safer for
people, and will make people's lives easier on a daily basis. A new transportation method of
hyperloop, where a vacuum sucks a train in a tube for accelerated travel, is presently being created
(Future Transportation Looks Like). This new method of transportation will not be able to crash into
other trains, and it will be solar powered to save on fuel (Future Transportation). When the
hyperloop transportation system is completed, it will be a more time–efficient way of traveling. A
new airplane model called the Skreemr is under proposal, and it is said that it can carry up to
seventy five passengers from New York to London in just under thirty minutes (Supersonic
Airliners). The only problem with this new plane will be the cost to operate and build. Since the

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored...
When History Changed The NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People)
was founded in the year of 1909 in New York City. This association is considered the nation's
biggest and oldest civil rights organizations. It was formed in response to the continuing terrible
practice of lynching during that period. Lynching was being practiced during this time and affected
many people just because of their skin color. The NAACP was made by white and black citizens "
[fought] for social justice" (NAACP History). According to the NAACP, Mary English and Dr.
Henry Moscowitz called for a meeting to converse about racial issues. Sixty people signed the call
including seven of them whom were African American which was rarely seen. After their meeting
they (white and black citizens) decided to initiate the National Association for the Advancement of
Colored People, which their main goal was/is to protect people's rights guaranteed in the 13th, 14th
and 15th amendment to the United States Constitutions (NAACP). Their principal objective of this
association is to ensure the "political, educational, social and economic equality of minority group
citizens of United States and [abolish] race [prejudgment]" (NAACP). In other words the NAACP
was created "to protect the constitutional rights of blacks," which was very controversial during that
period (2011). This organization seeks to get rid of all racial judgment through the democratic
procedures, which it would help end

Advancements Of The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution was an exceptionally large transition throughout the 18th and 19th
centuries. This Revolution was one that affected the lives of everyone that was involved. The
Revolution changed social and living conditions, as well as led to an increase in the human
population, where many people moved into more urban areas looking for employment. Although the
Industrial Revolution created countless opportunities and jobs for the working class, along with
advancements in technology, it also created the need for protection on behalf of the workers.
Where the Revolution Started The Industrial Revolution started in Great Britain, which then spread
to additional parts of the world. The textile industry is what initiated the Revolution. Due to the
increase of population during this time, the demand for textile goods increased. This domestic
production system could not keep up with the growing population due to the manufacturing often
being done in people's homes. The manufacturing frequently consisted of using hand tools or basic
machines, which took lengthy periods of time. Because of this, there was a need for new
advancements in technology, which then led to the industrialization of factories being made in mass
production. Throughout the Industrial Revolution, there were many different advances in technology
that made the need to produce goods and services easier. Although these advancements made it
easier to produce goods, it did not make the lives of the workers

calculator was like a huge machine with the ability to do math fast. The 1940s calculator and the
modern calculator are similar but different at the same time. In the past, the size of a calculator is
like a typewriter. Some calculators in the 20th century are like an internet server size. It was
impossible to bring a calculator to school to do math which means the students still have to do it by
the mind or that the school provided the calculator. Now, the calculator is a small held device for a
user to user. It is portable enough to bring with a high school student to school to be used. Some
calculators in the 21st century are digital which means that the person can go on the internet and use
the internet calculator for his/her purpose. The size of the calculator decreases when technical
advancements happen to it throughout history. The advancements of the calculator in 1940s were

Advancement of Society
Advancement of Society The advancement of society is something that has been occurring for
thousands of years. It cannot be stopped and it really cannot be predicted. However, when one looks
to the past for guidance, typically we see empires rise and fall. Humans are dominant creatures in a
world of many species. They want as much power as they can possibly get and never want less. As a
result, mankind has typically destroyed themselves rather than being destroyed by natural
occurrences. This is the dilemma in "The Time Machine", by H.G. Wells. In this story, Humans have
not necessarily destroyed themselves, but it does appear that the beings are back to living in a
primitive state of life. Yet, the whole idea of what the future should be by modern standards is off.
The future should be filled with great scientific minds and advancements. The state of living should
have increased greatly. This is not the case in this story. Instead, man as a species has split off into
two different branches. Those who are frail and kind live above ground scavenging for survival.
Those who live under ground are strong hunters who are well caught up in the industrial era. Man
has turned into a barbaric species of hunters and the hunted. One would normally feel that as the
future advances the world would move forward and advance. When the time traveler moves through
the future he notes, "So I travelled, stopping ever and again, in great strides of a thousand years or

The Role Of Violence In The White Tiger By Aravind Adiga
It cannot fairly be said that in Aravind Adiga's novel, The White Tiger, the only way to escape the
Darkness and advance in society is through violence, as an alternative route to the Light is presented
in the story arc of Vijay, the pig herder's son turned politician. Balram asserts that the murder of
Ashok is not only the direct cause of his new wealth and status, but also the only possible trigger for
his newfound social mobility. Yet, this is contradicted earlier in the story when he presents Vijay, the
bus driver, as his role model for a successful person. Vijay, in order to achieve his elevated position,
resorted to prostitution; despite not being a desirable alternative to violence, it is an alternative all
the same and therefore violence is not the only way to escape the Darkness. Following this logic, it
is Balram's story and the immediate increase in wealth that results from the murder of Ashok that
best supports violence as the only means of moving into the Light, and Vijay's story is the best
evidence against that point of view.
Although Balram argues that violence is his only way of overcoming the poverty he is born into,
Vijay, a man born into status even lower than Balram's, achieves power and wealth without resorting
to violence. Initially Balram presents Vijay as his role model, condoning the rumors of his
prostitution in order to advance socially. He portrays Vijay as "the first entrepreneur [he] knew of "
and a man who "had made it in life" (26), thereby

have today in earlier years. It wasn't until recent years that these children were also seen as equal
and given similar chances to learn alongside those children who did not have any learning
disabilities. In the early 20th century people decided to take a stand against the education system put
in place. Many parents formed advocacy groups to bring the needs of children with disabilities to
the public eye when it comes to equal educational rights. "In 1961, President John F. Kennedy
created the President's Panel on Mental Retardation. The panel's recommendations included federal
aid to states. In 1965, Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Elementary and Secondary Education Act,
which provided funding for primary education, and is seen by advocacy groups as expanding access
to public education for children with disabilities." Since this act, many others have also been formed
in order to help those with disabilities get the proper and deserving education. As late as 1975, up to
half of the estimated 8 million children with disabilities in the U.S. were either being
inappropriately educated or fully excluded from the public school setting (Pulliam & Van Patten,

has been the mindset of amputees for centuries. In the feudal era, knights often had prosthetics made
into their armor to appear as if they had all their biological limbs. However, these prosthetics were
virtually useless. These views that affected prosthetics can be easily seen today. Cosmesis is a type
of prosthetic that can model real limbs with extreme detail such as skin color, freckles, and even

the prosthetic from the real limb (Bowers). Cosmesis is an ongoing study to provide amputees with
a life–like prosthesis that offers function and mobility. The desire to gain independence and
acceptance of the prosthesis may also influence the advancements of prosthetics.

Don Crow Laws Segregation Laws And Using Music As An Civil...
Throughout the late 19th century, African Americans did not have the same rights as white people,
which led towards the establishment of Jim Crow laws. Jim Crow laws segregated blacks from
whites in a political, educational, and social setting, which created unfair treatment towards people
of color. In Devil in the Grove, four African American boys, known as the Groveland Boys, were
falsely accused of raping a white woman in Florida, which was known as the Groveland case.
Thurgood Marshall, who was a part of The National Association of Advancement for Colored
People (NAACP), helped to solve the Groveland case, as he was an advocate in fighting against Jim
Crow segregation. The labor force, vigilante groups, and legal precedents led towards the
establishment of Jim Crow policies by segregating black people from white people in public areas.
African Americans contested these policies by creating legal organizations that overturned cases
supporting segregation laws and using music as a way to protest against the Jim Crow policies. In
the labor force, there was pressure and unfair treatment towards African Americans, which was a
foundational element in establishing Jim Crow laws. Gilbert King wrote, "McCarthy learned that
whites in Groveland (who accounted for about 60 percent of the town's population of one thousand)
were tolerant of blacks, as long as they continued to work in white–owned citrus groves. 'The

Protection
The ocean is home to many dangerous predatory creatures, all looking for food to survive. Many
bioluminescent organisms use their abilities to defend against other organisms, particularly
predators. The Swima bombiviridis, also known as the green bomber worm, releases a
bioluminescent "bomb" from its body to distract predators, similar to the ink expelled by some
squids and crustaceans, giving it enough time to get away safely. Some animals, like the deep – sea
squid, Octopoteuthis deletron, go as far as detaching their glowing arms from their body. The arms
often stick to the predator, distracting it and allowing the squid to escape unharmed.
Bioluminescence can also serve as a form of camouflage for certain animals, like Firefly Squids.
Through the process of counterillumination, photophores on the animal can match the dim light
coming from the surface, making it harder for predators searching for prey from below to see what
they are looking for.
Figure 3: The Firefly Squid uses counterillumination to camouflage itself and hide from predators.
Feeding Prey are not the only ones who use bioluminescence to their advantage. In fact, many
predators make use of their bioluminescent powers to help them catch prey. Animals can use their
light to lure prey towards their mouths, or even to light up

was first used in 1847 by Dr. James Simpson. This drug was mostly used by the over–all public.
Currently this form of anesthesia is use for tons of metical and personal uses and can be found in
Some toothpastes and mouthwashes. Another form of an anesthesia advancement was morphine.
Morphine is an analgesic drug found from opium that is used for medicinally to release pain. This
was a more powerful and faster acting drug that was created in 1804 by Serteriner. In an article
titled "Anaesthesia– a great advancement in Surgery" it stated that a long time ago the Inca used
coco leaves for a typical anesthetic. Later in 1892 a man named Albert Nieman used coco leaves to
create a form of cocaine. This would stop the pain for as long as the substances was used. There is
no legal form of cocaine you can get today in the USA for pain, because its very addictive with
many side effects. This shows how anesthesia has advanced over the years and how the different

The three words that are of interest to me from this week articles are;
1. Ubiquitous: something or someone that seems to be everywhere.

negatives for patients that are caused by medical technology." (Maverick Angels, 2016)
The negative impacts of technological advancement in health
1. Health care is becoming too expensive and out of reach for the common man.
2. Some of these equipment also have severs negative effects on the patient.
3. Health care providers are depending too much on their equipment, thereby missing out on some
important elements that computers does not understand.
4. Loss of jobs, many low income workers have lost their jobs to machines and computers.
To prevent these negative impart these equipment should be made more efficiently, and also health

Advances in dentistry have been revolutionary in the last several decades. According to the
literature, the effects of an aging population contribute to the need for more and more prosthetic
work in dentistry, notably because of tooth loss. The push towards dental implant prosthetics comes
from this aging population losing more teeth, consequences of fixed prosthesis failure, anatomical
consequences, poor performance of removable prosthesis, consequences of partial dentures, and
even the psychological aspects of tooth loss and the needs of a changing social stigma regarding
dental issues (Misch). Unfortunately, while an implant–supported restoration tends to offer a
predictable treatment for tooth replacement, failures do occur. These failures sometimes negatively
impact the physical and psychological situation for the patient; involving further cost and additional
procedures. For the dental professional, failures jeopardize the ability to successfully treat the
desired issue, from both a medical and an aesthetic point of view, as well as confidence in the dental
provider and treatment option (Levin).
Having an appropriate plan for different methods to deal with dental implant failure is crucial to the
business and professional quality of the modern dental professional.

The Advancement Of Technology
Even if we don't agree that humans evolved from another, now–extinct species, we can agree that
the habits of humanity have definitely evolved. Along with these advancements in the habits and
daily lives of humanity, the technologies that were available to them advanced. There are several
ideologists that have discussed their research on the subject on how exactly they believe that
technology has advanced and evolved, whether they be hand in hand with the evolution of mankind,
advanced through the incremental steps of humanity's capability to harness energy, or possibly it's
the limitations that humanity faces that causes leaps in technology. These views were held by three
researchers of the advancement of technology: Gerhard Lenski, Leslie White, and Alvin Toffler. The
advancement of technology is dependent on the advancement of humanity. This is the view that
sociologist Gerhard Lenski held about how the evolution of technology can best be described and
observed. Lenski believed that, through levels, the capabilities of humanity is what was defined
through the amount that the humans of that time period understood about their surroundings. This is
observable, Lenski thought, by understanding the information that humanity had in different time
periods. In the beginning, humanity was nomadic. They only relied on creating tools that would help
them in hunting for meat and gathering plants and water. Next, humans realized that they could

'The
Negroes do most of the work around here'" African Americans were

place to invest their new found earnings in something that felt safe from inflation. Many people felt
that the stock market was a safe one way bet, causing customers to buy shares by taking out loans

Descent and distribution state statutes as well as supplemental statutes or court rulings can prohibit

advancements, renunciation or disclaimer and public policy.
Advancements:
Advancement means that a person can transfer property to expectant heirs with the intention that the
property be deducted from their eventual expected inheritance. In most states, an advancement is
required to be memorialized in a contemporaneous writing. This is a result of problems with
fraudulent claims. The advancement could be a gift or a loan. It depends upon the specific situation.

The renunciation is a "return" of the property. A disclaimer is a "passing on" of the property. Either
one will suffice for an heir who does not want to receive his inheritance. Both usually mean that the
heir will be treated as predeceasing the estate and their inheritance will pass to the next person in
line (according to the statute of descent and distribution).
Public Policy:
Sometimes the state may limit or prohibit an inheritance. This would be done for public policy
reasons. For instance, two or more potential heirs die at the same time (perhaps in the same event of
accident). The difficulty of providing which of the two potential heirs died first, second, third, etc.
will often result in the state's adoption of the Uniform Simultaneous Death Act. Under this Act, if
one potential heir does not clearly survive the other potential hear by a certain amount of time, both
will be treated as having predeceased the other. This results in equal shares of their jointly owned
property being distributed to the heirs of both potential heirs. In addition, public policy could limit
or prohibit inheritance of a person who was involved in an intentionally killing that left them
benefitting from the act, i.e. if the killer would benefit from the victim's death. In this situation the
potential heir or "killer" would be treated as predeceased. Public policy can also block inheritance
by an illegal alien unless there is a treaty in place between the United States and the appropriate

Although we are only in the beginning stages of this research one day it may be the case. The idea
of slow aging has been studied by the University of Michigan, University of Texas, University of
California in San Francisco and the Mayo Clinic (SOURCE). "Late in 2013, Google brought its
trove of cash into the game, founding a spin–off called the California Life Company (known as
Calico) to specialize in longevity research. Six months after Calico's charter was announced, Craig
Venter, the biotech entrepreneur who in the 1990s conducted a dramatic race against government
laboratories to sequence the human genome, also founded a start–up that seeks ways to slow aging"
(Easterbrook, 2015). Besides the moral and ethical argument of living forever, there also is a major
societal impact. "Longer life has obvious appeal, but it entails societal risks. Politics may come to be
dominated by the old, who might vote themselves ever more generous benefits for which the young
must pay. Social Security and private pensions could be burdened well beyond what current
actuarial tables suggest. If longer life expectancy simply leads to more years in which pensioners are
disabled and demand expensive services, health–care costs may balloon as never before, while other
social needs go unmet" (Easterbrook, 2014). Living forever will increase the population and may

Positive Developments in Technology Advancements and innovations in all fields are necessary if
humanity wishes to create a brighter and better future. Technology that has been created and
improved throughout the recent decades is proof of this philosophy. Medical innovations, such as
the MRI machine and advanced disease treatments, have helped to reduce deaths over the last half–
century. With new diseases and complications arising frequently, keeping up with the times becomes
a vital matter – and recent inventions have made sure that lives are preserved rather than destroyed.
Another area of interest is the internet, which allows people to access a wealth of information and
communicate with others from around the world. Computers, satellites, and other tech are related to
this subject, and all components combine to form a network that offers our world a collective
database – an notion that would have seemed outrageous more than 50 years ago. Technology is
even allowing humankind to extend our reach beyond our Earth – our solar system can be explored
thanks to inventions made since the Cold War 's "space race". Rockets, probes, and other
developments have made the vast unknown less daunting – and also furthered our knowledge of
chemical composition, elements, and other related scientific principles. By saving and improving
lives, technology has had a profound positive impact on the world over the last 50 years.

Most people are always fascinated to see the newest Apple update release, since its things that can only occur on a iphone. However, updates aren't always the best. Sometimes just trying the new details can make you understand why things are done a way. For example in the iphone industry to get an app it was always required to put in a password, now with one fingerprint it will download. Nowadays everyone wants an iphone, because of the cool updates and looks. But that's not it there's more to iphone than on a android, the fact that there is more to it like facetime, ... Also if you're an impatient person it lets you know when someone has read or is typing, but if your texting a person who has an android it will not let you know. In many ways iphone has been better than android. • 2. Resilience Advancements Introduction The world is undergoing constant change. The advancements being made to our society is made by people with big dreams. These people have the drive to do something creative. They are changing the world one step at a time. Each step brings them closer to filling the mould they have created for the world. Resilience First off we have Resilience. This one is important, you can't give up when times get tough. If that was the case many inventions we have today would not exist. An example of this is with Galileo Gelilei he was arrested for his discoveries and beliefs but he didn't stop believing in his cause he pushed on and continued his work at home even with minimal resources. This is a good example of resilience as it shows that when people are putting you down ignore them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This trait helps you to continue on after failing multiple times. Nothing is easy and nothing will work the first time. That's what your mindset should be, knowing that you will have to put continuous work into something for you to be successful. An example of perseverance is with Colin Murdoch. He was born with dyslexia which affected his childhood drastically as he found work much harder to do. He overcame his dyslexia and was able to do something great in return. He created the first disposable syringe and the tranquiliser gun proving that even with things like dyslexia you can still do great things. Patience: One key characteristic is patience. This is important to learn as you can't expect everything to happen instantly. Knowing that you will have to constantly work at something for it to be great is a big step towards inventing something. It is asinine to believe that you can invent something without putting the proper work in. Patience is a virtue that sadly very little people have so it may be one of the toughest things to deal with during the process of inventing. If you are able and willing to put the time in your efforts will pay off. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. National Association For The Advancement Of Colored... National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Born from the Niagara Movement, led by William E. B. DuBois, the NAACP has had a volatile birth and a lively history (Beifuss 17:E4). The impetus for the creation of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People came in the summer of 1908. Severe race riots in Springfield, Illinois, prompted William English Walling to write articles questioning the treatment of the Negro. Reading the articles, Mary White Ovington and Dr. Henry Moskowitz were compelled to meet with Walling. Consequently, the three along with a group of black and white citizens had considered the present state of the Negro, disfranchised in the South and taxed while ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The early success was due in large part to the interracial membership (Franklin 91). A large part of the membership consisted of white socialist and liberals (Franklin). For some time the NAACP was white– led. In time the Association became black dominated; Specifically, under the guidance of James Weldon Johnson. During the rule of Johnson, the NAACP began to form its reputation for using litigation. Although many of the NAACP's landmark cases did not occur until the 1950's and 1960's, the foundation was laid in the 1920's and 1930's. In short the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People transformed from a white dominated, infantile organization too the first black led organization, which influenced Congressional legislation under Harding's administration. During the next twenty years, the NAACP would be embattled in court cases which changed the face of America. One of the landmark cases that occurred, Brown v. Board was argued by lead attorney Thurgood Marshall (Lang F12). Another case which created opportunities for blacks, was Open Housing Act of 1968. Under this law it became illegal to refuse to sell property solely based on race. Since that time in which the blacks truly gained their civil rights, the NAACP tried to register 3 million voters throughout the South (Jenkins). Transportation in the future will allow for faster and safer ways of travelling. Currently, there are many airplanes, bullet trains, and cars that have advanced technologies included, but higher quality technology will soon be added. Tesla recently introduced a car with autopilot system that can drive on its own, change lanes, and adapt to the different speed limits (Tesla Autopilot). According to Business Insider, "approximately ten million self–driving cars will be on the road by the year 2020" (Self–Driving Cars). This new technology of self–driving cars will help make the roads safer for people, and will make people's lives easier on a daily basis. • 5. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored... When History Changed The NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) was founded in the year of 1909 in New York City. This association is considered the nation's biggest and oldest civil rights organizations. It was formed in response to the continuing terrible practice of lynching during that period. Lynching was being practiced during this time and affected many people just because of their skin color. The NAACP was made by white and black citizens " [fought] for social justice" (NAACP History). According to the NAACP, Mary English and Dr. Henry Moscowitz called for a meeting to converse about racial issues. Sixty people signed the call including seven of them whom were African American which was rarely seen. After their meeting they (white and black citizens) decided to initiate the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, which their main goal was/is to protect people's rights guaranteed in the 13th, 14th and 15th amendment to the United States Constitutions (NAACP). Their principal objective of this association is to ensure the "political, educational, social and economic equality of minority group citizens of United States and [abolish] race [prejudgment]" (NAACP). In other words the NAACP was created "to protect the constitutional rights of blacks," which was very controversial during that period (2011). • 6. Advancements Of The Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution was an exceptionally large transition throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. This Revolution was one that affected the lives of everyone that was involved. The Revolution changed social and living conditions, as well as led to an increase in the human population, where many people moved into more urban areas looking for employment. Although the Industrial Revolution created countless opportunities and jobs for the working class, along with advancements in technology, it also created the need for protection on behalf of the workers. Where the Revolution Started The Industrial Revolution started in Great Britain, which then spread to additional parts of the world. The textile industry is what initiated the Revolution. Due to the increase of population during this time, the demand for textile goods increased. This domestic production system could not keep up with the growing population due to the manufacturing often being done in people's homes. The manufacturing frequently consisted of using hand tools or basic machines, which took lengthy periods of time. Because of this, there was a need for new advancements in technology, which then led to the industrialization of factories being made in mass production. Throughout the Industrial Revolution, there were many different advances in technology that made the need to produce goods and services easier. A calculator is a math tool for doing problems quickly with a button mashing for today's world. In the past, the calculator was like a huge machine with the ability to do math fast. • 8. Advancement of Society Advancement of Society The advancement of society is something that has been occurring for thousands of years. It cannot be stopped and it really cannot be predicted. However, when one looks to the past for guidance, typically we see empires rise and fall. Humans are dominant creatures in a world of many species. They want as much power as they can possibly get and never want less. As a result, mankind has typically destroyed themselves rather than being destroyed by natural occurrences. This is the dilemma in "The Time Machine", by H.G. Wells. In this story, Humans have not necessarily destroyed themselves, but it does appear that the beings are back to living in a primitive state of life. Yet, the whole idea of what the future should be by modern standards is off. The future should be filled with great scientific minds and advancements. The state of living should have increased greatly. This is not the case in this story. Instead, man as a species has split off into two different branches. Those who are frail and kind live above ground scavenging for survival. Those who live under ground are strong hunters who are well caught up in the industrial era. Man has turned into a barbaric species of hunters and the hunted. One would normally feel that as the future advances the world would move forward and advance. • 9. The Role Of Violence In The White Tiger By Aravind Adiga It cannot fairly be said that in Aravind Adiga's novel, The White Tiger, the only way to escape the Darkness and advance in society is through violence, as an alternative route to the Light is presented in the story arc of Vijay, the pig herder's son turned politician. Balram asserts that the murder of Ashok is not only the direct cause of his new wealth and status, but also the only possible trigger for his newfound social mobility. Yet, this is contradicted earlier in the story when he presents Vijay, the bus driver, as his role model for a successful person. Vijay, in order to achieve his elevated position, resorted to prostitution; despite not being a desirable alternative to violence, it is an alternative all the same and therefore violence is not the only way to escape the Darkness. Following this logic, it is Balram's story and the immediate increase in wealth that results from the murder of Ashok that best supports violence as the only means of moving into the Light, and Vijay's story is the best evidence against that point of view. Although Balram argues that violence is his only way of overcoming the poverty he is born into, Vijay, a man born into status even lower than Balram's, achieves power and wealth without resorting to violence. Initially Balram presents Vijay as his role model, condoning the rumors of his prostitution in order to advance socially. He portrays Vijay as "the first entrepreneur [he] knew of " and a man who "had made it in life" (26), thereby ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the early 20th century people decided to take a stand against the education system put in place. Many parents formed advocacy groups to bring the needs of children with disabilities to the public eye when it comes to equal educational rights. "In 1961, President John F. Throughout the late 19th century, African Americans did not have the same rights as white people, which led towards the establishment of Jim Crow laws. Jim Crow laws segregated blacks from whites in a political, educational, and social setting, which created unfair treatment towards people of color. In Devil in the Grove, four African American boys, known as the Groveland Boys, were falsely accused of raping a white woman in Florida, which was known as the Groveland case. Thurgood Marshall, who was a part of The National Association of Advancement for Colored People (NAACP), helped to solve the Groveland case, as he was an advocate in fighting against Jim Crow segregation. The labor force, vigilante groups, and legal precedents led towards the establishment of Jim Crow policies by segregating black people from white people in public areas. African Americans contested these policies by creating legal organizations that overturned cases supporting segregation laws and using music as a way to protest against the Jim Crow policies. In the labor force, there was pressure and unfair treatment towards African Americans, which was a foundational element in establishing Jim Crow laws. Gilbert King wrote, "McCarthy learned that whites in Groveland (who accounted for about 60 percent of the town's population of one thousand) were tolerant of blacks, as long as they continued to work in white–owned citrus groves. • 31. The Advancement Of Technology Even if we don't agree that humans evolved from another, now–extinct species, we can agree that the habits of humanity have definitely evolved. Along with these advancements in the habits and daily lives of humanity, the technologies that were available to them advanced. There are several ideologists that have discussed their research on the subject on how exactly they believe that technology has advanced and evolved, whether they be hand in hand with the evolution of mankind, advanced through the incremental steps of humanity's capability to harness energy, or possibly it's the limitations that humanity faces that causes leaps in technology. These views were held by three researchers of the advancement of technology: Gerhard Lenski, Leslie White, and Alvin Toffler. The advancement of technology is dependent on the advancement of humanity. This is the view that sociologist Gerhard Lenski held about how the evolution of technology can best be described and observed. Lenski believed that, through levels, the capabilities of humanity is what was defined through the amount that the humans of that time period understood about their surroundings. This is observable, Lenski thought, by understanding the information that humanity had in different time periods. In the beginning, humanity was nomadic. They only relied on creating tools that would help them in hunting for meat and gathering plants and water. Next, humans realized that they could create tools that could help them ... • 34. Don Crow Laws Segregation Laws And Using Music As An Civil... 'The Negroes do most of the work around here'" African Americans were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Interracial Advancements Descent and distribution state statutes as well as supplemental statutes or court rulings can prohibit or limit inheritance in certain unusual circumstances. Some of these unusual circumstances include: advancements, renunciation or disclaimer and public policy. Advancements: Advancement means that a person can transfer property to expectant heirs with the intention that the property be deducted from their eventual expected inheritance. In most states, an advancement is required to be memorialized in a contemporaneous writing. This is a result of problems with fraudulent claims. The advancement could be a gift or a loan. It depends upon the specific situation. If it's a gift, it's typically deducted from the amount the heir would otherwise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The renunciation is a "return" of the property. A disclaimer is a "passing on" of the property. Either one will suffice for an heir who does not want to receive his inheritance. Both usually mean that the heir will be treated as predeceasing the estate and their inheritance will pass to the next person in line (according to the statute of descent and distribution). Public Policy: Sometimes the state may limit or prohibit an inheritance. This would be done for public policy reasons. For instance, two or more potential heirs die at the same time (perhaps in the same event of accident). The difficulty of providing which of the two potential heirs died first, second, third, etc. will often result in the state's adoption of the Uniform Simultaneous Death Act. Under this Act, if one potential heir does not clearly survive the other potential hear by a certain amount of time, both will be treated as having predeceased the other. This results in equal shares of their jointly owned property being distributed to the heirs of both potential heirs. In addition, public policy could limit or prohibit inheritance of a person who was involved in an intentionally killing that left them benefitting from the act, i.e. if the killer would benefit from the victim's death. In this situation the potential heir or "killer" would be treated as predeceased. Public policy can also block inheritance by an illegal alien unless there is a treaty in place between the United States and the appropriate foreign country that would allow the ... The idea of slow aging has been studied by the University of Michigan, University of Texas, University of California in San Francisco and the Mayo Clinic (SOURCE). "Late in 2013, Google brought its trove of cash into the game, founding a spin–off called the California Life Company (known as Calico) to specialize in longevity research. Six months after Calico's charter was announced, Craig Venter, the biotech entrepreneur who in the 1990s conducted a dramatic race against government laboratories to sequence the human genome, also founded a start–up that seeks ways to slow aging" (Easterbrook, 2015). Besides the moral and ethical argument of living forever, there also is a major societal impact. "Longer life has obvious appeal, but it entails societal risks. Politics may come to be dominated by the old, who might vote themselves ever more generous benefits for which the young must pay. Social Security and private pensions could be burdened well beyond what current actuarial tables suggest. If longer life expectancy simply leads to more years in which pensioners are disabled and demand expensive services, health–care costs may balloon as never before, while other social needs go unmet" (Easterbrook, 2014).
