20. Why migration to LibreOffice?
Goal: Every employees have their own PC clients
Especially, to sales persons
But the budget is limited.
Is MSO necessary?
Install presentation / drawing to all clients
To empower sales activities
PowerPoint and Visio are too expensive
Sub goal: Unify all PC clients environments
21. Decision making
Bottom up – top down approach
Watanabe-san has researched and made the migration
plan,
The boss said. Can you do it?
Yes, Of course.
OK
The “social capital” is important!
22. How to migration?
Watanabe-san understood well all employees' business tasks.
Mindset: Office productivity is just a Business tool.
Decision point : it enough in doing the business.
MSO is necessary? It's not users' matter.
The support team judged.
Watanabe-san involved power users, first.
User support: quickly response.
23. Manual use pattern
Q(users): how to use this?
A(support team):
OK, open ○○ page of manual.
Please put a tag
The same question is stopped.
Users make it a practice which reads the manual.
24. The same points
from TDF Whitepaper
It is almost same as White paper.
All PC were installed LibreOffice
ODF is selected as the standard format of an internal
document.
Macro files searched first, then considered to port to
LibreOffice
25. Different points
from TDF Whitepaper
Does not train basic operations.
Training target: Draw, Base, Pivot table of Calc.
Without vender's support
Support vender does not almost exist in Japan.
The format conversion of already existing files requested to
power users, before migration.
It will be training.
Power (=Difficult) users to be supporters.
26. LibreOffice's good points
for JA Fukuoka City
Draw and Impress are available to all the members.
Run away from Microsoft's “Version-up hell”
License management is unnecessary.
27. Problem points
for JA Fukuoka City
A careful test is required at the time of the version up.
It takes the time of the update work.
Japanese Free Fonts is very little.
Vertical Writing (top to bottom) functionality is weak.
