Abolish High School Essay
Education is always a controversial topic. Especially that topic is about high school to educate.
Rebecca solnit emphasizes that high school has a inaccurate system to educate, it identity students
that who they are in the rest of life, people should escape from it. Also high school like a jail, you
have to conform or take the punishment. However, I disagree with her, because I believe high school
is an important part of life, and high school direct ways for students to be successful. In 'Abolish
high school' by Rebecca solnit, she writes "High school is often considered a definitive American
experience, in two senses: an experience that nearly everyone shares, and one that can define who
you are, for better or worse, for the rest...show more content...

thing would happen in high school. I feel hopeful again, I start learn again with my friends in
high school, we help each other, and encourage each other, Also the teachers would helped us in
anytime we have problem. Overall, I believe high school is a most important of life. it has helped
you make yourself feel better about who you are. I glad I was the part of high school. Secondly,
rebecca solnit statement that high school like a jail, you have to conform or take the punishment. In
the text, she writes that "high school in America is too often a place where one learns to conform or
take punishment–––and conformity is itself a kind of punishment, one that can flatten out your soul
or estrange you from it. Which means if you don't conform it you would get punishment from it, it
is a wrong system for teens, they should be different not just follow the rule. In my case, I would
say that, students should follow school's rule and follow it not break it. For example, when teen
graduate from high school, they have to facing the challenge from the society and workstations. If
you don't follow the company's rule which means you would be fired,I believe no one like those
employees who break rules and didn't follow it. I agree that high school formulate a rules which
students have to conform or take the punishment . If students have no ideas comply with rules in

Life after high school Essay
Life After High School
I've just entered my senior year of high school. I know that this is a very important year. I have a
lot of decisions to make and not much time to make them. These decisions will either make or
break my life, and I want to make sure that I make them to the best of my ability because there is
no turning back. I need to make sure I definitely want to attend college. The decision is totally up to
me. There are many positives and negatives of attending college. Go over them, and then decide. I
know myself better then anyone else, and I won't let anyone else tell me what to do. I will make
sure if I am going to attend college that I have something in mind that I will want to do, to succeed in.
Choosing a major can be a...show more content...
I knew I wanted to do this because I was very interested in sports my whole life. It wasn't an easy
decision in choosing a school, but I think I made the best choice based on my major right now. In
a short essay "College? What's in It for me?" by Steven M. Richardson, the author makes some very
good points about college. Richardson states that there are a lot of reasons to not attend college, but
furthermore states that attending college is your best bet at succeeding in life. Richardson states
"The biggest reason for not going, probably, is that college costs money" (169). On the other hand,
he states, "The decision to attend college is an investment in your future–a risk, certainly, but one
with a big payoff if it's the right decision for you" (171). These are the things I had to think about
along with millions of high school–students before making my decision on what I wanted to do with
my life. Choosing a college is only the first part of the decision making process. What I want to do
for the rest of your life is the question that the majority of high school students will ponder. As
Richardson states, choosing a college as well as choosing a major is definitely an investment. The
way you handle that investment is up to you. If you handle it correctly your investment will pay off
immensely in the end (171). This is why I chose Athletic Training as my major.

Argumentative Reflection
Argumentative Essay Reflection One of my central struggles throughout high school has been
writing essays and reports for all classes not just english. I was a little worried when I signed up to
take this course, since it counted as a college credit. Even though I was worried about taking this
course, but I am thankful that I did. The main reason behind my decision to take this course is
because I thought it would better prepare me for college. This argumentative essay was one of the
hardest essay that I have written. I have never written in this style before this essay. Even though, I
have never been the best writer, I have always got good grades. After receiving my first rough draft I
knew this class was not going to be easy. The part...show more content...
One of the areas of my writing where I was struggling in using my voice. Granite, there were parts
of my essay where I successfully integrated quotes within my voice, but for the most part that was
my weakest area. For example of one of my better integrated quotes, in my third paragraph when I
say, "Today, consumers rely on social media for everything, whether it is communicating with old
friends, finding new friends, shopping, researching, and staying informed with the latest news.
Daniel adds that, "'Americans who take part in political activities on social networking sites also
tend to be highly active in other areas of political or civic life'" (29), which insinuates that people
rely on social media more today than we have in the past". This was one of my better examples
because I further explain and analyze the quote in my voice instead of just ending the sentence
after the quote. One of my poor examples is, "Many people who suffer from depression care a lot
about what others think about them. That is why many of those people tend to turn to social
media as an outlet to express their feelings". I made a bold statement and did not back up what I
said with my voice I just ended that sentence and moved on. Instead of moving on I should have
explained it further and told them why people tend to turn to social media to express their feelings.
One of the areas of my writing where I was

A Gap In Education Essay
Every high school senior asks themselves a very important question: should I take a year off
before I go to college? Gap years are becoming a very popular option for students who want to see
what life is on their own before they go off to college. Even though they can be beneficial to some
students, they come with more disadvantages than advantages. High school seniors should not take
gap years because they distract students, cause students to lose skills learned in high school, and
cost lots of money. One major reason why people should not take gap years is because people may
find living in the "real world" more enjoyable than going to school. After a newly graduated young
adult gets a chance to experience the "real world" and...show more content...
She wanted to major in English, and she would have quite the difficulty getting a degree in
English if she lost some writing skills (2013). So, people who take a gap year would most likely
lose vital information and have difficulty in their transition back into the academic life. Also, gap
years cost lots of money. Gap years are commonly used to travel and have fun before getting back
into the academic world. According to the article titled Gap Year Takers: Uptake, Trends, and
Long Term Outcomes, 34% of students who decide to take a gap year travel around the world
(Crawford and Cribb, 2012). People need to take into consideration that they will be attending
college in the near future, so spending lots of money while traveling would not be very wise.
College tuition will not decrease any time soon. If a person chooses to take a year off, they
should make sure that they have enough money saved so they are not buried in student debt later
in life. Even if the gap year is not spent traveling, it can be expensive. Most people choose to live
on their own during their year off. Living on your own can also cost lots of money. It would be
difficult to acquire a job fresh out of high school that pays all of the bills and allows one to save
money for college. In general, gap years cost money, whether they are spent traveling or working.
Others point out that gap years should be taken more often because they allow the individual to find
themselves,
