Narrative Essay On Anxiety
I was officially diagnosed with Anxiety this summer, 2016. Since I was little my parents claim
they knew I had it. My parents would tell you my mood swings would be out of control. When
something would go astray my mood would shift. Shift to almost a three year old having a
meltdown. The crying, creaming, hyperventilating, shaking, the world seemed it was ending in
my eyes. Many times if you were to ask me why I was behaving as such I couldn't tell you. Losing
sight to what the initial issue was. I was go to bed after, my parents telling my I need a nap. I
would crawl into bed, the familiar sent of the linen sheets, calming me down. I would wake up from
my na being completely refreshed. The mood swing would be over, or otherwise known as the
manic low.

I did it for fun and loved it, just like nay other college student. But than I discovered "self
medicating" in a sense. I did a ton of research and I started smoking to help with my anxiety. I
discovered a medicine that helped me.
I found the right amount to smoke to help me daily and I found more of my triggers and how to
handle them. I know I need structure. I started smoking every night. Because at night my
thoughts being to race and my anxiety starts to spike. So every night I would smoke after a
month of doing so I learned that my anxiety went way down. After three months, my friends
started noticing that my anxiety "went away". Since than living with anxiety has been doable for
me. I feel I can manage it. I feel I have control over my anxiety. My grades went up because I was
able to focus on school and not anxiety. My friends and I created a closer bond because once
again I was able to focus on us and not the anxiety. Everything was becoming clear to me.
Everyone has their own way of handling anxiety. Medications world for some vs others like me, it
made it worse. However I found my solution for anxiety. I found what worked for

A Narrative Essay About Moving To A New Country
Bags and bags of packages were traveling to the opposite side of the world during the summer of
2009, and it was time to get settled down again, in an unfamiliar environment. It was strange when I
took my first step into this new country––a place where I have never been to before.
Three weeks later, school in elementary was starting. It was awkward for me to go to school, due
to the reason of me being shy and still not used to the new environment, I did not know any English
at that time, and wasn't able to communicate with anyone, I was only capable of communicating
through my body languages. It was stressful not being able to say things that I wanted to say, but
people were nice to me, and as time goes by, I'm starting to learning English little by little....show

Narrative: a Memorable Event. Essay
Narrative: A memorable event.
I woke to my body jittering with anxiety. It was 7 o'clock on a Saturday morning, and it was the
day that I had been awaiting for. I was almost ready when my Dad shouted '' Ya betta get ya'self
moving Kertesha, we're gonna be late!''.
I paused, and took one last look at myself in the mirror. My hair was scraped back, my polo necked
fleece was suffocating and itchy, my black ribbed jodhpurs were tight around my midriff, but there
was one thing missing. It was one thing which all the girls on the internet, in the movies, and in all
the equestrian magazines had – A gilet. Mine was a pink Abercrombie & Fitch one, with ribbed
salmon trims around the waistband and collar; it was not a real equestrian gilet,...show more content...
Although the smell of the manure was strong, over time I began to appreciate it, and so it became
more of an aroma, than an odour. But this is something my Dad never seemed to get used, to let
alone appreciate. The entire stable had a rather odd smell; it was a mixture of hay, cut grass, dust,
manure, and oddly, a hint of leather. This was a smell which I soon became very fond of.
There were six of us in the group, we were all new to Dulwhich Riding School and filled with
enthusiasm. After being handed our riding hats, we were alphabetically permitted to choose a horse,
and as always, I was last in the alphabet. I was left with a choice of two, one was a blue roan filly.
She was a young slate coloured horse who reminded me of Eeyore (from Winnie the Pooh), and
was also a lot smaller than the other horses. Then I saw the attractive sorrel coloured gelding, he
stood glaring at me with his head poking out of the barn gate. His mane was dark and silky, and he
had a striking white birthmark on the bridge of his nose. I had an instant connection with him, and
proclaimed his name as Cashmere.
As I lead Cashmere towards the indoor riding arena, my heart raced. The inconsistent sound hoofs
trotting along the cobbled ground were intensifying. As I stroked Cashmere's muzzle and gave him a
mint polo (he's favourites), I began to mentally prepared myself to mount, and ride him.
Cashmere was

How To Write A Narrative Essay About Kids
Over the past eight weeks I have learned a lot about kids. I learned kids need lots of space to run
around in, and they love crafts and getting their hands dirty. Some of my strengths with kids
would be helping them when they needed it, and seeing if they need anything. One of my
weaknesses would be not always paying attention to the kid you were by at that time. I learned
kids are very active, and sometimes it is hard of them to adjust to a different environment. Some
day's kids would be happy, and the next day they might be upset. Working with children is an
interest in mine. I love taking photos of baby's and little kids; it is one of my hobbies/passions in
life. For my career I want to be a sonographer, which is ultrasound. I want to be able to take images

I feel we didn't need that much time; most of the people in the class weren't even working on it. I

disorganized, and people didn't care if they interacted with the kids. Some things I noticed were
that some kids were tired in the morning, and other weren't. Certain kids needed more interaction
than others. They like craft activities, and music. As the class went on I felt the kids learned to
interact with each other. I feel most people didn't care if they interacted with the kids; they just
sat on their phones, and only talked to each other. I think it was a positive experience for
everyone to see what kids are like. How they get along with each other. A negative experience I
had was I felt like I was one of the only people that payed the most attention to the kids. The kids
would try to interact with the other people in the class, but they didn't care about them. Over all I

Narrative Essay About Being Trapped
I decided to stay in town for Miss Callie's funeral and to help with her family that was still in town.
The loss hurt many who were close to her especially Esau who had loved her for many years. The
funeral had arrived very quickly as Miss Callie had requested a burial. As I walked up to her casket
my knees became weak as tragic memories flashed before me of everything that has happened to
the town. I noticed Esau, and tried my hardest to remain strong for him. A few more steps and I
would be looking at a beloved friend who I would consider my family. I missed her already as I saw

Europe. Even though Miss Callie would not be able to receive lovely gifts from Europe I still
wanted to go for her. Ginger had agreed to go with me and she apologized for not getting in
contact. We made it to Europe and it was crazy different from small town Clanton. It was almost
overwhelming, but it was all worth it. Everyday there was something new and different to try.
About a week into our trip, I get a call from my realtor telling me the Padgitt clan was interested in
buying my house. I was not even halfway through my sentence when I nearly choked on the rest of
my sentence. The realtor said, "They are willing to buy it for 2.5 million dollars." I didn't even
have to think about the answer...yes 2.5 million dollars is a large amount of money, but I would
never put the town of Clanton through something they had already been through. It hadn't even been
a year since everything had happened in the small town. I would most definitely not be the one to
give a single chance to the Padgitts. The realtor was upset with me but understood and delivered the
news right away. The Padgitts will not step foot anywhere near the people I care about in that

Narrative Essay On A Journey
Everybody is on or has been on a journey before. Being on a journey is very important because it
gives you a goal or task that you want to accomplish. When you go on a journey you find is
yourself through the experiences and obstacles that life throws at you. Throughout a journey, you
are taught life lessons and have the capability of applying that new knowledge for the future for a
better outcome. Sometimes, these life lessons challenge you and you ultimately succeed at the end.
For the past 5 months, I have been on a journey as I have been learning a new instrument that I've
always wanted to learn since I was a little kid. Being on this path has taught me many life lessons
and how to stay focused on what really matters.
My interest in guitar started when my friend used to bring his guitar everyday and I would always
want to play but didn't know how. I would always ask him to teach me how to play but I didn't
know any of the chords and notes, therefore, I just gave up on attempting to play this new
instrument. However, guitar is an elective that's offered here at Kennedy, so I decided to take the
class. I noticed that my friend was getting better the more he practiced, so I decided to join the
class to learn the basics and get started on this new journey. At first, it was difficult to understand
the notes because I didn't have any musical background to help assist me for my own benefit.
However, I began to focus more in class to learn the basics day by day. Overtime, I learned that you
can't learn guitar in one day and you need a lot of practice to get better. I also discovered how
progress is important to reach my end goal.
I stayed on this journey to learn guitar because playing guitar is a special skill that I want to
learn. n my free time or when I'm bored, I could play guitar while learning new and more songs to
play. As a result, I will eventually and gradually get more advanced the more I learn. Another
reason I stayed on this journey is because I want to want to challenge myself to do something I
thought I could never do. When I was little, I always thought that I would never be able to play an
instrument because it was too difficult to learn. Therefore, this is why I wanted to learn guitar in the

How My Family Challenged My Identity
Growing up surrounded by idealized American values and my mother's traditional
Chinese–Vietnamese principles challenged my identity as a first–generation Asian American. I
excelled in school. I pushed myself to join programs such as Paideia, an English course integrated
with history to attain higher levels of critical thinking. Despite being academically independent, my
good grades and interest in English demonstrated how well I understood the language. Cantonese, the
language I used to communicate with my mom, was an entirely different story. Because my mother
would work night shifts and then sleep during the day, we could barely spend any time together,
creating a lack of communication. I eventually lost my fluency in Cantonese. During Christmas,

Personal Narrative Essay: A Day At The Beach
I stretched my arms out and looked up and down the beach. Although I lived in Waikiki for years,
it'd been far too long since I took a vacation, let alone the beach, since I'm dealing with
neverending piles of school assignments and activities. As I strolled along the coastline I can feel
the soft smooth sand beneath my feet. I was taken in by the soothing atmosphere that encircled me.
I closed my eyes, letting myself absorb the blistering rays of the sun on a scorching summer day.
The beach was oddly quiet for this time of that year, only a handful of people sunbathing. I didn't
mind, I was going to enjoy myself.
I headed out to the water after setting up my towel. The shock of the frigid water took my breath
away and I was momentarily stunned. However, I quickly recovered; finding my body adjusts
rapidly to the cold water. I waded a few feet into it before leaning forward and swimming out. I
didn't dare to go too far though, instead turning to swim parallel to the shore. I was comforted by
the sounds of the ocean; the rhythmic pounding of the waves represses all of my worries. I looked
into the cloudless cerulean blue sky and see the perfection of life. Just when I was starting to get
tired and wanted to go back to the shore, I saw something.
Off the distance of the coastline, there was...show more content...

Narrative Essay
The Narrative Essay
*What is a Narrative Essay? Narrative writing tells a story. In essays, the narrative writing could
also be considered reflection or an exploration of the author's values told as a story. The author may
remember his or her past, or a memorable person or event from that past, or even observe the
present. The author may write about: –An experience or event from his or her past. –A recent or
ongoing experience or event. –Something that happened to someone else, such as a parent or a
grandparent.
*Basic qualities of a narrative essay: A narrative essay is a piece ofwriting that recreates an
experience through time. Unlike other essays,...show more content...
*Revising your narrative essay:
After spending time away from the draft of your narrative essay, read through the essay and think
about whether the writing effectively recreates the experience for your readers. Ask other people to
read through the essay and offer their impressions. Identify where more details and descriptions are
needed. Identify and consider removing any information that seems to distract from the focus and
main narrative of the essay. Think about whether you've presented information in the most effective
order.
*Prompts for your narrative essay:
1. A childhood event. Think of an experience when you learned something for the first time, or when
you realized how important someone was for you. 2. Achieving a goal. Think about a particularly
meaningful achievement in your life. This could be something as seemingly minor as achieving a
good grade on a difficult assignment, or this could be something with more long–lasting effects, like
getting the job you desired or getting into the best school to which you applied. 3. A failure.
Think about a time when you did not perform as well as you had wanted. Focusing on an
experience like this can result in rewarding reflections about the positive emerging from the
negative. 4. A good or bad deed. Think about a time when you did or did not stand up for yourself or
someone else in the face of adversity or challenge.

Nurse Monologue
Pit. Pat. Pit. Pat. The nurses say that's the sound of rain, water pouring from the sky. Bang. My
favorite nurse, Delilah, calls the banging sound, thunder, electricity sent to the Earth when God is
angry at people. "The world is a bad place," Delilah would say. "It feeds on our weaknesses." Then
she'd mutter something under her breath and repeat the incoherent word over and over, like she was
comforting herself. Delilah would also chew on her fingers when she thought I couldn't see. Every
time the thunder banged, she'd rush to the corner of my room and chew her fingers, eliciting a

exactly the same as yesterday and the day before. Good meant that the nurses knew that I hadn't
improved; I wasn't going to get to go outside anytime soon. The nurses left the room soon after,
leaving a trail of discontent in their path and an abundance of questions lingering on the tip of my
tongue. Delilah was my friend, she couldn't just have left. There had to be a reason; there always
is. Like every other day, I was left in the room, alone with my thoughts, an acerbic combination.
Today, my kismet, had other plans. A knock on the door resounded, followed by a heaving breath,
the twisting of the doorknob, and a bang as the door shut. My eyes widened when instead of a
nurse, an unfamiliar face burst into my room and my reality. Two tantalizing grey eyes peered into
my own, a wild mix of fury and contention battling to surface. The latter claimed the victory.

How To Write A Narrative Essay On Middle School
Drama, cliques, and awkwardness make middle school most people's least favorite time. Nothing
can make it any worse than it already is. Unless of course, one switches schools right before eighth
grade.
Before my eighth grade year, I switched from a small charter school in Inver Grove Heights where I
had gone since Kindergarten, to Blackhawk Middle School, a much bigger public school in Eagan. I
didn't want to leave my old school behind at all. Class sizes there were about fifty, and I had the
same friends since Kindergarten. Every inch of the school was familiar to me. I knew all the
teachers, and my mother was even friends with many of them. After eight years, I had developed a
sort of sixth sense about the school and everyone in it. My transition to Blackhawk Middle School

Just walking into the school was overwhelming. Compared to my previous school, it was massive.
Everyone already had friends from their previous two years in middle school. The system of
changing rooms for every class was alien to me, so of course, I got lost quite a bit. Further
complicating the matter was the fact that there was a different schedule every other day. I didn't
realize that until first period on the second day of school, when a rather unfriendly girl told me to
get out of her seat.
During my first weeks at school, I kept my head down and didn't talk much. I didn't participate in
class out of fear of drawing attention to myself and was too shy to approach anyone.
Things started to get better when my English teacher made an announcement about the beginning of
Declam season, a middle school speech competition. At my old school, there was nothing of the sort.
Curious, I attended the information session and was immediately

The Importance Of Narrative Writing
Narrative Writing is a story that is told and the order in which it is told. Some stories have
narrators and some without. The narrator is normally a series of characters or one character who tell
the story. Sometimes narrative writing can be classified as fiction writing which is a made up from
start to finish. When there is narrative writing that is based on true stores, then the narrative writing
is non fiction. Most narrative writing in the law enforcement sector is a "how to" format or a
guideline on how a report should be written. It also explains the actual facts on how a crime
occurred during the investigation. According to the text Biggs (2016), There are five rules of
narrative writing. The first rule of narrative writing is, the report should always be written in first
person. When the narrative explains first person, the narrative is stating that using "I or Me" in
the reports identify the author of the person who is writing the investigative report. If "I or Me"
is not being used to write the investigative reports, the investigation could be sought as made up or
fake. The second rule of narrative writing is, the report should also be written in past tense along
with first person view. According to the text, If you write in the past tense, you will develop
consistency and, as a result, create a report that is professional and easy to read. With this type of
consistency, the reports are easily believable to the reader and makes it easy to follow the

Example Of A Narrative Essay College
A narrative essay is a story that is true and has meaning, whether it be to prove a point, send a
message, explain an event that's happened, or entertain the reader. Most narrative essays are
written to convey a story from a past time that sends a message to not only the reader, but the
writer themselves. When planning a narrative essay, the first step is to identify the topic in which
the writer wants to explain. There are multiple ways in which the you can come up with a topic, it
all depends on the style you're most comfortable with. The next step is to write down all the main
events that supports the topic you have chosen. What main events led up to the story you're trying to
approach? What key events made what your topic is all about?...show more content...
This event made a big impact on my life as it showed me the value of work ethic by showing me
that hard work pays off. It also taught me to never give up and follow your heart. And lastly, it
taught me the importance of a team to help me through the tough practices and mental battles. When
choosing my topic, I wrote down 3 main events that were important in my life that impacted me and
shaped myself into the person I am today. The 3 I chose were: breaking the 3200–meter record for
my school, breaking the 4x800 record with my team, and lastly, moving from Poinciana to
Kissimmee and leaving all my friends to take on a new chapter in my life. The topic I chose to
write is one I feel very passionate about and the single memory I can recall the most. Although
breaking the 4x800 record with my team was a memorable moment and the first record I'd ever
broken at my school, nothing compared to the feeling I got when I broke an individual record that
was held by my own coach. I had a sense of relief and happiness, not just for myself, but my coach
as well. It felt as if I didn't just break the record for the sake of me personally, but for him too. May
have taken 21 years to be broken, but I'd say it sure was worth

hard work just for this one little moment when the game was on the line. Back to reality our

but I guarantee what people will remember is when we had beaten Aberdeen for the first time in

my ACL tered, i remembered how its the worse pain i have ever felt. i was yelling "Guys, wait

A Narrative Essay

  • 1. Narrative Essay On Anxiety I was officially diagnosed with Anxiety this summer, 2016. Since I was little my parents claim they knew I had it. My parents would tell you my mood swings would be out of control. When something would go astray my mood would shift. Shift to almost a three year old having a meltdown. The crying, creaming, hyperventilating, shaking, the world seemed it was ending in my eyes. Many times if you were to ask me why I was behaving as such I couldn't tell you. Losing sight to what the initial issue was. I was go to bed after, my parents telling my I need a nap. I would crawl into bed, the familiar sent of the linen sheets, calming me down. I would wake up from my na being completely refreshed. The mood swing would be over, or otherwise known as the manic low. Having anxiety...show more content... I did it for fun and loved it, just like nay other college student. But than I discovered "self medicating" in a sense. I did a ton of research and I started smoking to help with my anxiety. I discovered a medicine that helped me. I found the right amount to smoke to help me daily and I found more of my triggers and how to handle them. I know I need structure. I started smoking every night. Because at night my thoughts being to race and my anxiety starts to spike. So every night I would smoke after a month of doing so I learned that my anxiety went way down. After three months, my friends started noticing that my anxiety "went away". Since than living with anxiety has been doable for me. I feel I can manage it. I feel I have control over my anxiety. My grades went up because I was able to focus on school and not anxiety. My friends and I created a closer bond because once again I was able to focus on us and not the anxiety. Everything was becoming clear to me. Everyone has their own way of handling anxiety. Medications world for some vs others like me, it made it worse. However I found my solution for anxiety. I found what worked for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. A Narrative Essay About Moving To A New Country Bags and bags of packages were traveling to the opposite side of the world during the summer of 2009, and it was time to get settled down again, in an unfamiliar environment. It was strange when I took my first step into this new country––a place where I have never been to before. Three weeks later, school in elementary was starting. It was awkward for me to go to school, due to the reason of me being shy and still not used to the new environment, I did not know any English at that time, and wasn't able to communicate with anyone, I was only capable of communicating through my body languages. It was stressful not being able to say things that I wanted to say, but people were nice to me, and as time goes by, I'm starting to learning English little by little....show more content... I wanted to be able to make friends and talk to them in English. • 3. Narrative: a Memorable Event. Essay Narrative: A memorable event. I woke to my body jittering with anxiety. It was 7 o'clock on a Saturday morning, and it was the day that I had been awaiting for. I was almost ready when my Dad shouted '' Ya betta get ya'self moving Kertesha, we're gonna be late!''. I paused, and took one last look at myself in the mirror. My hair was scraped back, my polo necked fleece was suffocating and itchy, my black ribbed jodhpurs were tight around my midriff, but there was one thing missing. It was one thing which all the girls on the internet, in the movies, and in all the equestrian magazines had – A gilet. Mine was a pink Abercrombie & Fitch one, with ribbed salmon trims around the waistband and collar; it was not a real equestrian gilet,...show more content... Although the smell of the manure was strong, over time I began to appreciate it, and so it became more of an aroma, than an odour. But this is something my Dad never seemed to get used, to let alone appreciate. The entire stable had a rather odd smell; it was a mixture of hay, cut grass, dust, manure, and oddly, a hint of leather. This was a smell which I soon became very fond of. There were six of us in the group, we were all new to Dulwhich Riding School and filled with enthusiasm. After being handed our riding hats, we were alphabetically permitted to choose a horse, and as always, I was last in the alphabet. I was left with a choice of two, one was a blue roan filly. She was a young slate coloured horse who reminded me of Eeyore (from Winnie the Pooh), and was also a lot smaller than the other horses. Then I saw the attractive sorrel coloured gelding, he stood glaring at me with his head poking out of the barn gate. His mane was dark and silky, and he had a striking white birthmark on the bridge of his nose. I had an instant connection with him, and proclaimed his name as Cashmere. As I lead Cashmere towards the indoor riding arena, my heart raced. The inconsistent sound hoofs trotting along the cobbled ground were intensifying. As I stroked Cashmere's muzzle and gave him a mint polo (he's favourites), I began to mentally prepared myself to mount, and ride him. Cashmere was Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 5. How To Write A Narrative Essay About Kids Over the past eight weeks I have learned a lot about kids. I learned kids need lots of space to run around in, and they love crafts and getting their hands dirty. Some of my strengths with kids would be helping them when they needed it, and seeing if they need anything. One of my weaknesses would be not always paying attention to the kid you were by at that time. I learned kids are very active, and sometimes it is hard of them to adjust to a different environment. Some day's kids would be happy, and the next day they might be upset. Working with children is an interest in mine. I love taking photos of baby's and little kids; it is one of my hobbies/passions in life. For my career I want to be a sonographer, which is ultrasound. I want to be able to take images of baby's before they are...show more content... I feel we didn't need that much time; most of the people in the class weren't even working on it. I would only give a class and a half to work on it and if they didn't get it done it was homework. The lessons at the beginning were the best and the last few. The one's in the middle I felt were disorganized, and people didn't care if they interacted with the kids. Some things I noticed were that some kids were tired in the morning, and other weren't. Certain kids needed more interaction than others. They like craft activities, and music. As the class went on I felt the kids learned to interact with each other. I feel most people didn't care if they interacted with the kids; they just sat on their phones, and only talked to each other. I think it was a positive experience for everyone to see what kids are like. How they get along with each other. A negative experience I had was I felt like I was one of the only people that payed the most attention to the kids. The kids would try to interact with the other people in the class, but they didn't care about them. Over all I think it was a great experience for me and everyone Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Narrative Essay About Being Trapped I decided to stay in town for Miss Callie's funeral and to help with her family that was still in town. The loss hurt many who were close to her especially Esau who had loved her for many years. The funeral had arrived very quickly as Miss Callie had requested a burial. As I walked up to her casket my knees became weak as tragic memories flashed before me of everything that has happened to the town. I noticed Esau, and tried my hardest to remain strong for him. A few more steps and I would be looking at a beloved friend who I would consider my family. I missed her already as I saw her and realized I would never be able to have a good quality conversation with her again. I gave my condolences to Esau and the rest of Miss Callie's family before...show more content... I quickly went home and packed what I would need for a while and other little important things. I made a call to professional movers to pack up my stuff and put it in storage then an additional call to a realtor to sell the house. I got in my little car and headed North while booking two flights to Europe. Even though Miss Callie would not be able to receive lovely gifts from Europe I still wanted to go for her. Ginger had agreed to go with me and she apologized for not getting in contact. We made it to Europe and it was crazy different from small town Clanton. It was almost overwhelming, but it was all worth it. Everyday there was something new and different to try. About a week into our trip, I get a call from my realtor telling me the Padgitt clan was interested in buying my house. I was not even halfway through my sentence when I nearly choked on the rest of my sentence. The realtor said, "They are willing to buy it for 2.5 million dollars." I didn't even have to think about the answer...yes 2.5 million dollars is a large amount of money, but I would never put the town of Clanton through something they had already been through. It hadn't even been a year since everything had happened in the small town. I would most definitely not be the one to give a single chance to the Padgitts. The realtor was upset with me but understood and delivered the news right away. The Padgitts will not step foot anywhere near the people I care about in that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Narrative Essay On A Journey Everybody is on or has been on a journey before. Being on a journey is very important because it gives you a goal or task that you want to accomplish. When you go on a journey you find is yourself through the experiences and obstacles that life throws at you. Throughout a journey, you are taught life lessons and have the capability of applying that new knowledge for the future for a better outcome. Sometimes, these life lessons challenge you and you ultimately succeed at the end. For the past 5 months, I have been on a journey as I have been learning a new instrument that I've always wanted to learn since I was a little kid. Being on this path has taught me many life lessons and how to stay focused on what really matters. My interest in guitar started when my friend used to bring his guitar everyday and I would always want to play but didn't know how. I would always ask him to teach me how to play but I didn't know any of the chords and notes, therefore, I just gave up on attempting to play this new instrument. However, guitar is an elective that's offered here at Kennedy, so I decided to take the class. I noticed that my friend was getting better the more he practiced, so I decided to join the class to learn the basics and get started on this new journey. At first, it was difficult to understand the notes because I didn't have any musical background to help assist me for my own benefit. However, I began to focus more in class to learn the basics day by day. Overtime, I learned that you can't learn guitar in one day and you need a lot of practice to get better. I also discovered how progress is important to reach my end goal. I stayed on this journey to learn guitar because playing guitar is a special skill that I want to learn. n my free time or when I'm bored, I could play guitar while learning new and more songs to play. As a result, I will eventually and gradually get more advanced the more I learn. Another reason I stayed on this journey is because I want to want to challenge myself to do something I thought I could never do. When I was little, I always thought that I would never be able to play an instrument because it was too difficult to learn. Therefore, this is why I wanted to learn guitar in the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. How My Family Challenged My Identity Growing up surrounded by idealized American values and my mother's traditional Chinese–Vietnamese principles challenged my identity as a first–generation Asian American. I excelled in school. I pushed myself to join programs such as Paideia, an English course integrated with history to attain higher levels of critical thinking. Despite being academically independent, my good grades and interest in English demonstrated how well I understood the language. Cantonese, the language I used to communicate with my mom, was an entirely different story. Because my mother would work night shifts and then sleep during the day, we could barely spend any time together, creating a lack of communication. I eventually lost my fluency in Cantonese. • 10. The Landlady: A Narrative Essay "It'd be better if I go off to bed now," said Billy, briskly arising off the couch. He started scaling the stairs. Hazel swirls encompassed the entirety of each step his foot rested upon. The Landlady closely followed, frolicking impatiently with her red, darting fingernails and examining Billy's entire body. With each step Billy took, the staircase creaked and crackled like the fireplace downstairs. Briskly hopping off the last platform, Billy darted to his room. "Good night then," croaked Billy. The Landlady closely followed as he stepped through the doorway. There the dame stood, silently staring at Billy while he positioned himself on the bed. • 11. Personal Narrative Essay: A Day At The Beach I stretched my arms out and looked up and down the beach. Although I lived in Waikiki for years, it'd been far too long since I took a vacation, let alone the beach, since I'm dealing with neverending piles of school assignments and activities. As I strolled along the coastline I can feel the soft smooth sand beneath my feet. I was taken in by the soothing atmosphere that encircled me. I closed my eyes, letting myself absorb the blistering rays of the sun on a scorching summer day. The beach was oddly quiet for this time of that year, only a handful of people sunbathing. I didn't mind, I was going to enjoy myself. I headed out to the water after setting up my towel. The shock of the frigid water took my breath away and I was momentarily stunned. However, I quickly recovered; finding my body adjusts rapidly to the cold water. I waded a few feet into it before leaning forward and swimming out. I didn't dare to go too far though, instead turning to swim parallel to the shore. I was comforted by the sounds of the ocean; the rhythmic pounding of the waves represses all of my worries. I looked into the cloudless cerulean blue sky and see the perfection of life. Just when I was starting to get tired and wanted to go back to the shore, I saw something. Off the distance of the coastline, there was...show more content... Those who are young with energy and risk takers, revel in a hearty chase. In essays, the narrative writing could also be considered reflection or an exploration of the author's values told as a story. The author may remember his or her past, or a memorable person or event from that past, or even observe the present. Ask other people to read through the essay and offer their impressions. Identify where more details and descriptions are needed. Identify and consider removing any information that seems to distract from the focus and main narrative of the essay. Think about whether you've presented information in the most effective order. *Prompts for your narrative essay: 1. A childhood event. Think of an experience when you learned something for the first time, or when you realized how important someone was for you. 2. Achieving a goal. Think about a particularly meaningful achievement in your life. This could be something as seemingly minor as achieving a good grade on a difficult assignment, or this could be something with more long–lasting effects, like getting the job you desired or getting into the best school to which you applied. 3. A failure. Think about a time when you did not perform as well as you had wanted. Focusing on an experience like this can result in rewarding reflections about the positive emerging from the negative. 4. A good or bad deed. Think about a time when you did or did not stand up for yourself or someone else in the face of adversity or challenge. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Nurse Monologue Pit. Pat. Pit. Pat. The nurses say that's the sound of rain, water pouring from the sky. Bang. My favorite nurse, Delilah, calls the banging sound, thunder, electricity sent to the Earth when God is angry at people. "The world is a bad place," Delilah would say. "It feeds on our weaknesses." Then she'd mutter something under her breath and repeat the incoherent word over and over, like she was comforting herself. Delilah would also chew on her fingers when she thought I couldn't see. Every time the thunder banged, she'd rush to the corner of my room and chew her fingers, eliciting a shiver throughout my body, one similar to the shiver caused by my daily injections. Most of the time, Delilah would inject the skin above my collarbone, plunging...show more content... "Gone, sweetheart," She said, squeezing my hand. I ripped my it out of her grasp. "What do you mean gone? She can't just leave!" "I'm sorry, hon'. She up and left," the nurse shrugged, checking my vitals on the monitor. "Everything looks good today." I knew what good meant. Good meant exactly the same as yesterday and the day before. Good meant that the nurses knew that I hadn't improved; I wasn't going to get to go outside anytime soon. The nurses left the room soon after, leaving a trail of discontent in their path and an abundance of questions lingering on the tip of my tongue. Delilah was my friend, she couldn't just have left. There had to be a reason; there always is. Like every other day, I was left in the room, alone with my thoughts, an acerbic combination. Today, my kismet, had other plans. A knock on the door resounded, followed by a heaving breath, the twisting of the doorknob, and a bang as the door shut. My eyes widened when instead of a nurse, an unfamiliar face burst into my room and my reality. Two tantalizing grey eyes peered into my own, a wild mix of fury and contention battling to surface. The latter claimed the victory. Opening a green folder, the boy steered his gaze on a stack of papers. He flipped through them until an aqua colored paper stood out to him, and ripped it from the folder. His eyes scanned the paper until he read something that turned his nonchalant expression, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. How To Write A Narrative Essay On Middle School Drama, cliques, and awkwardness make middle school most people's least favorite time. Nothing can make it any worse than it already is. Unless of course, one switches schools right before eighth grade. Before my eighth grade year, I switched from a small charter school in Inver Grove Heights where I had gone since Kindergarten, to Blackhawk Middle School, a much bigger public school in Eagan. I didn't want to leave my old school behind at all. Class sizes there were about fifty, and I had the same friends since Kindergarten. Every inch of the school was familiar to me. I knew all the teachers, and my mother was even friends with many of them. After eight years, I had developed a sort of sixth sense about the school and everyone in it. My transition to Blackhawk Middle School was one of the greatest challenges I've experienced. The change was drastic, and it was very hard for me to adjust....show more content... Just walking into the school was overwhelming. Compared to my previous school, it was massive. Everyone already had friends from their previous two years in middle school. The system of changing rooms for every class was alien to me, so of course, I got lost quite a bit. Further complicating the matter was the fact that there was a different schedule every other day. I didn't realize that until first period on the second day of school, when a rather unfriendly girl told me to get out of her seat. During my first weeks at school, I kept my head down and didn't talk much. I didn't participate in class out of fear of drawing attention to myself and was too shy to approach anyone. Things started to get better when my English teacher made an announcement about the beginning of Declam season, a middle school speech competition. At my old school, there was nothing of the sort. Curious, I attended the information session and was immediately Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. The Importance Of Narrative Writing Narrative Writing is a story that is told and the order in which it is told. Some stories have narrators and some without. The narrator is normally a series of characters or one character who tell the story. Sometimes narrative writing can be classified as fiction writing which is a made up from start to finish. When there is narrative writing that is based on true stores, then the narrative writing is non fiction. Most narrative writing in the law enforcement sector is a "how to" format or a guideline on how a report should be written. It also explains the actual facts on how a crime occurred during the investigation. According to the text Biggs (2016), There are five rules of narrative writing. The first rule of narrative writing is, the report should always be written in first person. When the narrative explains first person, the narrative is stating that using "I or Me" in the reports identify the author of the person who is writing the investigative report. If "I or Me" is not being used to write the investigative reports, the investigation could be sought as made up or fake. The second rule of narrative writing is, the report should also be written in past tense along with first person view. According to the text, If you write in the past tense, you will develop consistency and, as a result, create a report that is professional and easy to read. With this type of consistency, the reports are easily believable to the reader and makes it easy to follow the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Later in the fall when school started again, Scout and me would find presents in the knothole of a tree. It all started when we saw some gray twine in it. We had waited a couple of days, but it was still there so we took it. We would then see other present in the knothole too. There was two figures carved in soap, an old pocket watch, a medal, and even some chewing gum. Then one day we found the knothole filled with cement. I asked why Mr. Radley filled the tree with cement and he said that the tree was dying. I ask Atticus this to see if it was true and he said that the tree was healthy. This had made me deeply sad and curious that I had even cried a little while I was sitting on the front porch. Jem For the first time since 1885, Maycomb had a winter. It also taught me to never give up and follow your heart. And lastly, it taught me the importance of a team to help me through the tough practices and mental battles. When choosing my topic, I wrote down 3 main events that were important in my life that impacted me and shaped myself into the person I am today. The 3 I chose were: breaking the 3200–meter record for my school, breaking the 4x800 record with my team, and lastly, moving from Poinciana to Kissimmee and leaving all my friends to take on a new chapter in my life. The topic I chose to write is one I feel very passionate about and the single memory I can recall the most. Although breaking the 4x800 record with my team was a memorable moment and the first record I'd ever broken at my school, nothing compared to the feeling I got when I broke an individual record that was held by my own coach. I had a sense of relief and happiness, not just for myself, but my coach as well. It felt as if I didn't just break the record for the sake of me personally, but for him too. May have taken 21 years to be broken, but I'd say it sure was worth Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 19. Essay on Sports Narrative Tyler Douglas Professor Thamm Eng 101–10:00 a.m. Due: Sep. 29, 2008 Essay #1 Narrative A major role in my life would definitely be sports. It is almost as if I look up to sports because I could not live without them. Sports pretty much define me as me. I love to play sports as well as watch all kinds of sports on T.V. and if I could ever go to a game and watch the players play live I would be thrilled. Basically sports define me because I am ambitious, I finish what I start, I set goals for myself, and I am a fierce competitor in which I love to win and I hate to lose. The greatest part about sports to me is living for the moment when the game is on the line and the pressure is on can you come through and make a play for your...show more content... With the game tied 6–6 that is when I went into my own little zone and was in my moment. The crowed was electrified and cheering us on. I thought about all the hard work the coaches put us through doing two a days and keeping us late after a hard practice, spending all of that time and hard work just for this one little moment when the game was on the line. Back to reality our quarterback had started the play and it looked like it was going nowhere and we might have to got into overtime. Then after about 6 crazy seconds he threw the ball to our halfback and he broke a couple tackles and the somehow stretched across the goal line by about 2 inches and we had taken the lead 8–6 with 52 seconds to go. When the game clock hit 00:00 for the first time in our schools history the football team had beaten Aberdeen and none of us could believe it. This was a special moment. Now, it was in this moment when I had realized that sports define me as me because we never gave up, none of us wanted to lose, we set a goal and completed it, but most important we kept our eye on the prize and came through in the moment when the game was on the line. Nobody is going to remember how many games we won or who the best player on the team was that season, but I guarantee what people will remember is when we had beaten Aberdeen for the first time in school Get more content on HelpWriting.net
