Literature review
For this literature review a research work of former research has been taken, who has done
research on similar subject. The research work was done at Rowan University by Tara Heffner
and the title of the dissertation is “The effect of social media use in undergraduate students”.
According to the researcher the social media is becoming the part of the modern life. The key
reason for this the entire information can be accessed by the cell phones, Tablets, as well as other
hand-held instruments. The researchers have conducted research on the effect of social media
on the college students. According to the researcher the students are excessively used the social
media sites like Facebook, twitter, Instagram and SnapChat and it reduces their study time and
effects on their education and social life. According to the researchers the social media has
positive effect on the college students as there are several aspects of social media which
positively effect on the academics and social life of the students (Heffner, 2016). The students
can discuss any important topic with the peers on social media, which help in improving their
knowledge about that specific topic. Besides this the students can be attached to their professors
by these social media site so that they are benefited academically and in this scenario the
professors also urge the students to use social media. The knowledge and information can be
shared in the social media site very efficiently as well as in social media one can arrange a
discussion that help in academics of the student.
