UAE automotive companies are missing an opportunity to target UAE college students through social media. A literature review discusses previous research that found social media has become an important tool in the recruitment process for companies. It allows companies to disseminate job advertisements and screen candidates in a cost-effective and time-saving manner. However, UAE automotive companies have yet to effectively utilize social media to target potential candidates among UAE college students.

Literature review
For this literature review a research work of former research has been taken, who has done
research on similar subject. The research work was done at School of management and
Governance in University of Twente by Sandra Abel and the title of the dissertation is “The
Result of Social Networking in Recruitment” and the subtitle of the research study is “Result of a
quantitative study among German companies”. According to the researcher the present alteration
in technology and the role of internet has explored novel opportunities for the business
organizations. The advance technologies help in improving the communication techniques and
ease the jobs. Moreover, the current phenomenon social media has make entries in the business
landscape and more specifically in the recruitment landscape, which need the information and
knowledge about the latest recruitment trend related to the social media (Abel, 2011). The social
media networking has explored new recruitment process and the companies use the social media
to disseminate the job advertisement of the companies and screen the prospective candidates
through social media communication, which ease the job of the HR personals as well as improve
the efficiency of the recruitment process. It reduces the recruitment cost and time thus, it can be
said that the social media play significant role in improving the recruitment process of the
organization as it provides a cost-effective way and at the same time, it saves the recruitment
time by more efficient ways.
