2. Looking back at your preliminary task, what
do you feel you have learnt in the
progression from it to the full product?

4. • Looking back at my preliminary task I feel as though I have come forward leaps and bounds in terms of
progression from it to the full product,. in both my front cover and contents page. One of the clearest differences
in quality between my college magazine and my music magazine is the structure of the magazine and how I use
the forms and conventions of real media products in my music magazine. On the front cover of my college
magazine there is no real structure to the page and the contents on it. All of the cover lines are randomly spaced
around the page with no reasoning behind where everything is and why its there. However on my music magazine
front cover the structure is clear and everything is positioned with reasoning behind it. The font choices on the
front cover of my college magazine are in part poor as the black font is near impossible to see on a dark green
background. However on my music magazine front cover the fonts are all bright and stick out on the page making
it easy for the reader to see. On my music magazine I have included a price and on my college magazine I
haven't. All of these things show the improvements I have made whilst progressing from the preliminary task to
my final product. I feel like the gulf in class between my college magazine contents page to my music magazine is
vast. On my music magazine everything is structured and neat however in my college magazine its structured and
neat however it is uninteresting and bland I feel as though its too minimalist and plain. However in my final
product I feel like the contents page is really vibrant and interesting.
• Overall I feel as though all of these points and the images of my the two products on the previous slides show
how much progress I have made during the progression from my first task to the final product.
