I have included two items that I want you to read/watch to help with your critique. I posted a link of the video of the director discussing the show and a link of his concept. I have also included a breakdown of the characters. Please use these two sources when writing your critique. Please read the Director's Notes( if they have been included) in the program you are given at the show and use the information given when discussing elements of the play. Listed below are topics I would like you to address in your critique. 1. Clarity of language and story- Which performers do the best job of making Shakespeare's language clear to the modern audience. What techniques are they using in their body and voice to help make their character easy for the audience to understand. 2. Which actors were able to make you forget at times that you were listening to Shakespearean language and became relatable to the modern audience. 3. What are the themes of the play? How are they expressed through design (set, lights, sound, set, props, makeup, hair, and costume). 4. Do a little research of the fashion, hair, and makeup for both men and women and 1959. Describe how the costumes changes with different locations. Be specific and give examples. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otYG-quVx54 https://www.playshakespeare.com/two-gentlemen-of-verona/characters ...
