I decided to do my research project on the healthcare system of
Canada. I personally do not know much about any other
healthcare systems besides the United States, but sometimes I
over hear or see on movies discussions about Canada’s
healthcare system. Now, I would like to really learn about it
more, since Canada is our neighbor!
I do know that Canada has low cost or zero cost for
medications. I would like to know why and compare that
information and numbers to the United States and figure out
how Canada can do that and how it works for them.
I hope to learn the overall system of Canada’s healthcare and
how it works. I really want to know the economic side of the
system and how all the numbers play out and how the
government is tied into.

TV shows VS Identity Crisis
Psychologists argue that identity crisis is the failure to attain
ego identity before achieving adulthood. During adolescent
stage we get psychological development, sexual maturity and
we are able to integrate ideas on ourselves and people around
us. Adolescents get self-image and tolerate the roles in
resolving crisis of the ideal ego identity. Resolution of this
crisis depends on individual progress through previous
developmental stages. Several factors like trust, initiative and
autonomy may alter developmental stages. This means that
adolescents with a strong sense of identity are likely to face
adulthood with confidence and certainty. On the other hand,
adolescents with a weak sense of identity have a crisis to find
themselves. The crisis may result to a negative identity leading
to crime and drug abuse.
During adolescence stage, fidelity is a basic strength that appear
from a consistent ego identity. According to the study carried
out by Erickson, identity begins in childhood. Yuroks of
northern California and the Sioux of South Dakota exhibits
different identity development and identity crisis. Identity crisis
exhibits confusion among adults who have no evidence of who
they are, where they belong or where they are heading to. Many
people withdraw from their formal life at college and after
marriage (Schultz, pg 321). Many people tend to engage in
negative activates rather than lack a single identity ego. Peers
have an influence in identity crisis among
ALMUTAIRI2
the youth, Erickson believes that association with negative
groups like cults, or fanatics redistrict the development of
negative identity crisis. Fidelity is important as it encompasses
sincerity, genuineness and duty concise mind while dealing with
other people in the community. Identity is a subjective sense
and observable qualities of personal similarity and intransience.
The identity is different in different parts of the world which
shapes cultures and norms among different regions in the world.
For example, American has transformed their cultures during
the revolution of popular culture that is manipulated by the
media.
Identity foreclosure occurs to individuals with diverse choices
however, many develop their identity without exploring
alternatives. Parental ideas and conviction accepted without
questions influences identity foreclosure. During adolescence
stage, security bracket among parents. Identity diffusion may
cause identity crisis during adolescence period reflecting the
lack of both exploitation and determination. Identity
moratorium is a status which is very volatile and the longest
process in identity formation. It involves incorporation of active
exploration of alternatives. Even though individuals who opt for
alternatives are open-minded and skillful, they are in an identity
crisis. In order to achieve identity resolutions of multiple
identity crises, you need to achieve a particular crisis.
Breaking Bad entails an American crime TV show that was
aired in AMC network for five years. The movie has influenced
identity crisis among teenagers. The main actor, Bryan Cranston
was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. He changed his
identity ego by turning to crime and started to sell crystallized
methamphetamine in order to raise his family. The show shows
how drug business is carried out besides the shortcuts used to
evade government enforcement (Schultz, pg 321). Breaking bad
is considered as one of the greatest TV shows of all time and it
became the most watched show after its launch. The series
received numerous awards
ALMUTAIRI3
like Choice Award, Satellites award and Golden Globe Award.
Additionally, it entered the Guinness World Records as the
highest rated show of all time. It was created by Vince Gillian
who argues that TV casts is historically good at keeping viewers
on their toes where production may be done for many years.
Breaking Bad is made with a notion that questions people of
their identity consciousness. Some episodes are cast in Miami a
location that was changed from California. This means that the
episodes give two different worlds with different identity egos.
The casts shows scientific methods and equations that can b
used to produce methane. This means that it rises the chances of
American teens to engage in such activities since they have the
idea. Identity ego has changed greatly in the U.S where many
teens are reported to engage in drug trade and use. Teens know
how the industry works from the series since tactics to engage
in methane business safely are shown. The main actors engaged
in drug business to secure his family but in the course of the
business, he adopted a notorious reputation. We learn how
teenagers lose their identity ego at some stages of life. Morally,
every action has its own consequences which are influenced by
our identity crisis. American teens continue to lose the identity
ego due to changing lifestyle.
Another TV show that influences the identity crisis among
teenagers is The Walking Dead. It is a post-apocalyptic horror
series based on Walking Dead comic books. Rick Grimes a
deputy sheriff awakens from a coma to find a world full of
flesh-eating zombies. As he went out to look for his family, he
encountered other survivors. The show enjoyed an international
crowd through FOX International Channels and scooped five
awards. Survivors changed their identity crisis after
encountering deadliest zombie. They had to find a safe refuge to
stay away from the cannibals. We see a changed lifestyle among
survivors as they try to maintain their identity ego during the
times of dilemmas faced in a chaotic world. Rick, the main
character, found out her
ALMUTAIRI4
wife was engaged with another man. The search for the cure hit
a snarl and the group had to destroy the CDC facility. This
shows the influence of identity ego from difficulties in life
(Schultz, pg 321) .The case continues to influence American
teens. The group that fled the CDC is forced to rob vehicles to
take them to safety. The series have received several critics of
creating a zombie subgenre in the society obligating the cast to
be reviewed in the second season. Walking Dead has instilled a
different identity ego among the teens who follows its cast.
TV shows has affected American teenagers and helped
them to lose their identity crisis. Specifically breaking bad and
walking dad TV shows has helped American teenagers to lose
their identity crisis. The media is a very essential aspect of our
lives however; it may change our identity ego. Researches
carried out assert that TV shows have made teenagers to lose
their identity crisis. In this discourse, we are going to exploit
TV shows and the way they have changed identity ego among
teenagers/ Breaking Bad is a popular show among TVS and its
theme influences moral conduct among teenagers. This means
that those who watch it tend to adopt similar identity ego than
those who do not watch the program.
