Completion of a TESL program from a
TESL Ontario accredited institution OR
have TESL Ontario Accreditation.
This course is designed for TESL Ontario
Accredited Language Instructors seeking
training in the specialized language
instruction area of Advanced Grammar.

feel more confident about teaching advanced

demonstrate the ability to effectively design grammar
lesson plans at Stage III Canadian Language Benchmark
levels

4. Course Development Process
1) needs assessment - questionnaires, interviews with
instructors, feedback from ESL schools/employers
2) selection of topics - based on the assessment and
the CLB for CLB 9-12, academic English and exam prep
such as TOEFL and Academic IELTS.
3) development of blended approach - some topics
work better online some in class; practical and
theoretical assignments/tests

based on feedback
5) submission to TESL Ontario for complete course
review and recommendations
6) final revision based on TESL Ontario feedback

7. Online delivery
Participants will be assigned an online instructor for
online component.
Online component is a self-executable anytime-
anywhere program and it is open 24/7.
Participants will have 6 months to complete the
program.
