2. Why Mitochondria matter! Mitochondria make and provide all the energy that a cell needs to be able to do functions like move, divide, and contract. Basically, mitochondria are the power house of cells. Mitochondria uses glucose and other organic molecules and converts it into APT, which is a form of energy that is useable by the cell.
4. Structures Mitochondria have a double membrane similar to the nucleus. The outside membrane is smooth, but the inner membrane is complex and forms folds called cristae. On the cristae food combines with oxygen to produce ATP.
5. Alliance and What Should Be Voted Out Alliance with ribosomes because mitochondria contain ribosomes, just different ones than found through out cell. The nucleus should voted out because the mitochondria actually contains some of its own DNA, so it doesnโt need the nucleus.
