Dear Judges:
Hi my name is Doug Williams, and I am a student here at Creekview High school. I plan
to attend a community college of some sort to become a professional Locksmith. As you
may know I did my senior project on becoming a Locksmith like my dad has been ever
since I was born. When being a Locksmith a lot is involved with this skill, you have to
know exactly what you are doing so you do not mess anything up. Also you need to be
certified so you cannot get in any legal trouble.
The product I created is a mini display of a door that I installed a lever handle and a
deadbolt on. It was to show a nice in depth description of what has to be done in certain
circumstances. It relates to my research paper in a since of just knowing about the history
of Locksmithing. When you know the most you can about a particular subject or skill you
can describe it better to others and become a leader as well. So many things can go wrong
if a procedure is not done right. It is hard to remember everything to do and that got
really frustrating, but I kept trying and now it is like second nature to me.
This skill provides a nice future for someone with a family or even single. The pay is
decent and doing work in many different locations gets your name out there and everyone
knows who you are and the company you work for. A lot of times our calls are from
previous customers and they have referred us to their family or friends. To me it is a real
good feeling of accomplishment for people to know they are safe in their homes. For
instance when people get divorces or when a business fires an employee. This is
definitely a career I want to pursue and carry on the business for generations.
This project was really fun and challenging. I cannot wait to see where it leads me in life,
hopefully I will be very successful and well known. Thank you so much for your time
and I hope I can help you all one day.
Sincerely,
Doug Williams
