1. Since I could remember, as a little boy growing up in the some of the worst low
income houses and toughest parts of Massachusetts, I would always look at my
mom and dad and say “one day when I grow up, I’m going to buy you guys a big
house and some nice cars and you’ll never have to work again.”
Watching my parents work day and night, to get us out of ‘the ghetto’ and into an
upper-middle class neighbourhood, inspired me to work relentlessly to achieve my
goals. As a young boy, that work ethic translated to the soccer pitch and basketball
court. Today, that work ethic drives me to build my company and become a better
person on a daily basis. Each day that the sun rises upon my face is a blessing. We
are all born with many talents and tools. It is up us to use them.
As I began my journey to become independently wealthy, the road of uncertainty
was unsettling to say the least. I had no idea of what obstacles that were going to
be thrown between my dreams and me. Following many failures and a few
successes, things started falling into place. From failing over and over again, I
started to recognize patterns that were limiting my success. As I began to isolate the
negative and repeat the positive patterns, my life started to change. I began to
realize that success is like cooking a great meal; once you’ve mastered the recipe,
you can easily remake it and share it with others. From that point onward, I focused
all my energy on mastering the psychology of peak performance. We all have the
ability to constantly improve our psychological prowess.
The only thing stopping anyone from getting what he or she truly wants is the story
they kept telling themselves as why they can’t or won’t achieve it. Here at DCU,
that belief does not exist! All the successful Dreamchasers have developed that
belief through our dynamic environment. We are masters of our own destiny. We
are not creatures of circumstance, we create the circumstance. If the circumstances
around us are not desirable, then we change them!
If you’re trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I’ve had them; everybody has had them.
But obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up.
Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.
