This document discusses the implementation of a tablet-based automated clinic system at AIIMS to address clinicians' needs and improve efficiency. It notes that doctors previously spent little time with each patient to get their history, examine them, and record notes. The new system allows doctors to view patient schedules and records, access prior labs and images, and record visit notes, photos, and prescribed treatments within 60 seconds using a tablet. It describes the multi-step process, from patients booking appointments to doctors reviewing records and assigning follow-ups. An initial trial period resulted in improved doctor compliance rates. The system provides computerized patient records accessible anywhere on the hospital network.

2. BACKGROUND
 Computerisation of clinics
in public funded
(Government) hospitals has
been cursory at best.

3. Background
 Typically a doctor spends less than 2 minutes
on a patient, during which time he has to
listen to patients complaints, formulate a
diagnosis & treatment plan and write down
the notes in the patients clinic card as well as
in the hospital record (EMR etc).

record & retrieve at leisure
 Do all this in less than 60 seconds!

5.  We tried to enter in EMR system in OPD for
nearly two years(2011,2012)
 But we got 0% compliance.

 Test trial given for 2 month with continuous
training
 Feed back was taken and added the
requirements.
 Implemented live from march 2013
 Compliance rate has increased in last three
months.
 In august we had 50% usage of tablets in OPD.
 Patients are also satisfied with this as a copy
remains in the hospital also

11.  A change in the existing system of manual
notes to the tablet usage was very tough.
 Continuous training and motivation was
done by NIS.
 More over in a busy OPD any time lag was not
acceptable to the physician.
 Network should be uninterrupted to get good
workflow.

12.  No OPD records were available to the Hospital
previously.
 Now we have a computerized record in which the
we can see the records by web interface from
anywhere in hospital.
 In one pt file we can attach the notes ,x-ray
images,wound images which can be revived again
in next visit.
 It is helpful to get a statistical data of the
outpatients which helps in research purpose.
 It is now web interfaced so any doctor can
access the record of his/her opd visit in their
room itself
