done over all.

• Assistant directors
Private funding: When individuals, businesses or organizations
show support of a project with money, these projects are
considered privately funded projects. Privately funded refers to
the source of the money for the project, business or endeavor. If
the money is raised through donations, the money comes from
the private sector or funds. If the government provides financial
support for a specific project, the money comes from taxpayer
contributions or public funds. Examples of private funding are:-
crowdfunding, bank loans, credit card, and studios.
Public funding: examples of public funding are:- British film
institution, Raindance, film London, and woman in film.
Joint financing: the provision of funds for a project, etc, from two
or more sources. the joint financing of community care projects
by health authorities and local authorities.
Brainstorming is the process generating creative ideas through a
group discussion. It requires everyone’s idea because every
individual has a different way of perceiving things. It also helps in
team building and everyone gets the opportunity to be associated
with the project. In this stage, the concept gets clear about the
movie. If the concept is not documented well, then it will be very
difficult to have any ideas to back up the project, in case, your
original one falls apart. king process.
. While working on a script, a filmmaker should have certain facts
that support the script. Research can help you build such supports.
Research is of two types- Primary and Secondary. In primary
research, we collect the facts, maybe, through a questionnaire or a
focus group. When the facts are derived from the internet or other
secondary sources, it is termed to b secondary research, a research
that has already been done previously, by someone else.
If your research is solid nobody will doubt your project and there
will not be many questions if your research is solid.
. Preparing a synopsis of the concept is necessary; after all, everyone
has the tendency to forget. For instance, you are working for a client
and the client does not approve of your idea, you must be in a
position to review and revise your idea. This can only be done when
you have penned down your idea. Your proposal- pitch should
include the topic that you are working on, and your planned
procedure to carry on with the project. This also helps especially
when you want your film to get funded. The very first thing the
producer will judge you will be on the basis of your initial proposal
only.
Pre-production costs usually include the producer’s fee for
taking meetings, hiring crews, casting actors for all sorts of
roles, coordinating acts, planning the shooting schedule,
booking hotel, meals, and travel, research, and generally
planning the development of the project. The operational
research should be done with much attention as you don’t want
your funds to dry up while in midst of the shoot.
Budget involves the identification and estimation of cost items
for each phase of filmmaking such as development, pre-
production, production, post-production and distribution.
A production schedule is a planned document of each and
everything, from the script to the movie release. It carries much
significance in the filmmaking process. Your client may demand
the project on a specific day which leaves you with the idea of
planning every minute to meet the deadline. Like, by when should
you finish the scripting, shooting, editing, etc.
.
A shooting schedule is an exact timeline of how much time will be
needed to complete the shoot and on which dates you are going to
shoot. It is prepared, keeping in mind every single person involved
in the shoots cast and the crew. Shooting schedule is much needed
to plan the shooting of the scenes. There will be Y number of
scenes to be shot on X location. You would not want to come back
again and again to the same location to shoot the remaining
scenes. Scheduling helps to shoot the scenes in accordance to the
location and make the production a hassle free process.
You should have a backup plan because things might not go as per
your convenience. It is important that you create a contingency
plan, even if it is never used.
If anything related to the project like an idea, music etc. is not
yours then you will need to get the permission of its owner. There
are several locations where you need to get the clearances for
shooting on the same locations. It is the producer’s job to protect
legally every single component with an authentic form of
permission.
