Writing A Persuasive Essay
It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good
essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a
passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I
have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with
an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of
school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of
passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First
things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless...show more content...
You'll get this definition: "The writer takes a stand on an issue–either "for" or "against"–and builds
the strongest possible argument to win over the reader. In a persuasive essay, it's the writer's job
to convince the reader to accept a particular point of view or take a specific action." Along with a
bunch of How Tos. I've have taken a stand that is very passive–aggressive, on why I can't write this
essay. I know what you're thinking, this is ridiculous. Just think of it like this, as you sit there
reading me ramble on and give excuses. You're starting to listen. Yes, you have been in my spot
before, lack of passion words don't form right and you're just not clear enough. I see the irony here,
this very essay, it contradicts itself. A persuasive essay on why I can't write a persuasive essay. In
the end it's genius, I'm not faking an opinion or sing someone's thoughts. You might have considered
this option before but it seemed too stupid. You looked up prompt after prompt. Nothing. When you
finally settle you know it's not your best work and the grade shows. Or you did it last minute,
reworded someone else's essay. You've even considered turning in nothing, I mean what's the point

Persuasive Essay
"Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be
graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr.
Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously
groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and
about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose
and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already
rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death
penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly
making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line.
I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a
tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk.
Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such
desperate times, my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that awaffle
was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward
to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked
everyone the age old question: "Do you like

Persuasive Essay About Science
Every kid wants to go to the moon one day, or save children and families from blazing fires They
all have a dream. We were always asked the question, "What do you want to be when you grow
up?" The stereotypical jobs always came to mind. The thought of being an astronaut, floating
through space and discovering the planets. The thought of being a firefighter and saving the town
from disastrous flames. These were normally the first ones. Kids would always argue over who
would be the best police officer. They would run around the playground playing "Cops and
Robbers", testing each other's heroic abilities. Then, there was me. Ever since I was young, I
knew I wanted to study some sort of science. My mom has always worked in the medical field, so
as soon as she got home I would ask what she did that day. It was always different. Some days she
would be working with a patient with cancer and others she would be removing an arm or leg due
to a horrific car accident. It all kept me entertained as a child and has since. Although I knew what
subject of study I wanted to go into, I never knew the specific field. There were so many options.
You could be a physician, surgeon, or a research scientist. The list goes on and will continue to
grow as new fields are developed. There is one deciding factor for everyone, though. There is
always that one moment or event that caused a feeling of awe. A desire to learn more. This feeling
came to me in my sophomore year of high school. Walking

Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education
A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children
gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life.
Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to
explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children
to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their
educational journeys in a meaningful way. I hope to provide the children in my classroom an
accessible, inclusive and resource rich learning environment.

Inclusion
A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels
included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel
included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the
attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn
about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should
also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students.
Resources
Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a
parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies
including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important
to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the
classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as
complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix
the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be
empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration.
Future Classroom
My goal is to make my classroom a learning environment where all students can be

Persuasive Essay On College Education
College education will serve as a basis for someone's lifestyle if they work for it. This will open up
doors and release opportunities for individuals that want it. College graduates will gain more
intelligence than those that have only graduated high school. This type of constructionism will only
work if students have a motive to be successful. The price of a four–year degree is quite valuable.
College graduates have been proven to gain more money, learn an abundance of skills, and embrace
diversity.
To begin, college education has benefits that could go on forever. One of those advantages is the
amount of money college graduates earn. In the article called "Is College Worth It? Clearly, New
Data Say," by David Leonhardt, it describes the outcomes of having a degree and the assistance
behind that. The future of a human being depends on the financial support. As mentioned in the
text, "The pay gap between college graduates and everyone else reached a record high last year,"
(1). When jobs look at someone, it will become dependent upon past achievements or downfalls.
People will accept a person with a four–year degree over someone without college experience.
Individuals that gain more money, were most likely taught in college.
In opposition, student debt from college can create long years of struggling issues. Students may feel
like this is a disadvantage. According to the article, it mentions, "Among four–year college graduates
who took out loans, average debt is about

Persuasive Essay On Suicide
In today's society, suicide can be a multifaceted issue, sometimes an act of heroism, selfishness,
love, or a brave choice. I am arguing against suicide because it is not a solution to a problem, it
should not even be included as an option. Suicide is simply defined as "the deliberate taking of
one's own life, usually the result of a psychiatric disorder, although sometimes deliberated in the face
of life–threatening physical illness, significant interpersonal stress, or when under the influence of
one or more substances of abuse" (Piotrowski). This topic interests me because of the fact that the
rates are increasing year after year and it can happen to someone close to me at any moment. This
topic should interest you too because someone close to you can show warning signs, which can be
subtle or more discernible. Also if you are reading this as a parent, you should know "suicide is the
third leading cause of death for those between the ages of ten and fourteen, and it is the second
leading cause of death for those ages fifteen to thirty–four" (Goff). Yet the factors that play into a
someone's decision is anything but simple. The most obvious and severe effect of suicide is the loss
of a meaningful, valuable human life. "In the United States in 2013, according to the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 41,149 individuals committed suicide and approximately
494,169 received medical treatment for self–inflicted injuries. The World Health Organization
(WHO) reported an estimated 800,000 suicides worldwide in 2016, and suicide is the second
leading cause of death among fifteen– to twenty–nine–year–olds worldwide. Women attempt suicide
more often than men, but men complete suicide more often than women because men tend to use
more lethal means, such as a firearm" (Piotrowski). With suicide rates on a continuous rise in
America, society must ask what can be done to save lives.
The main argument against suicide is that it is selfish, which is true. By you killing yourself, it
causes a lot of pain to those left behind, like your family, loved ones, friends, etc. They tend to
blame themselves for your death. Even if you feel like nobody in the whole world cares about you,
you are wrong. When you think

Persuasive Essay On Change In Life
Life is a whirlwind of events, situations, and lessons all wrapped into one. There is no one way to
live life correctly or to the greatest ability because each individual has a different perception of it.
Throughout the whirlwind, some of the lessons learned may benefit or harm us but at the end of the
day, life waits for none. Deciding to make a change in life can be one of the hardest yet most
fulfilling things a person can do. Whether a life change is occurring because one wants to be
healthier, or one wants to be more positive, the act can be intimidating at first. Although there are
different ways to go about it, there are at least four key steps to achieving and making a successful
lifestyle change and shift. The steps include acknowledging the problem and deciding on a new
lifestyle or what change to make, thoroughly researching the lifestyle and what it takes to attain it,
giving a layout or making a plan of the new lifestyle, and lastly having a self–reward system for the
successful transition. As a person it can be hard to admit when there is a problem or to even
acknowledge when there is a flaw within. Pride can be a preventative factor in making a lifestyle
change but can be rewarding when overcame. The first step towards change is accepting one needs
to be made. The solution lies within and finding it is as simple as self–realization of an issue. Being
aware of the obstacles that hinder growth into a new lifestyle allows the opportunity to make the
necessary changes, ultimately actuating the entire life changing process. Following the admission
of a problem, one must decide what to do about it and what type of life to transition to. Whether
the goal is to become more positive, lose weight, get better grades, or even have a better sleep
schedule, the first step to achieving it is deciding to make the change. After finally making the
decision to make a change within life, the journey continues on. When learning something new in
class time is spent studying and researching the topic in order to further understand and comprehend
it; the same logic is applied to a lifestyle change in the sense that the research done has to be even
more thorough. Some situations may require tiny changes over time

An Act of Kindness: A Persuasive Essay
An Act of Kindness
(Order #A2071175) There is a commercial on television, I forget what for, where one person
performs a small act of kindness towards another, followed by that person helping someone else,
and so on. The message here is that each act of kindness has a ripple effect throughout society and
can effect people who we do not even know exist. There is also a secondary lesson of this
commercial: eventually the acts of kindness return to the original person, indicating that kindness
can be circular and if we want to live in a society where people do nice things for one another, then
it begins and ends with us. This commercial indicates that acts of kindness are a way to improve
society and an individual's overall life. With this is mind, I would like to convey an example of how
I have been able to do my part in the overall circle of kindness by aiding a stranger who's car
battery had died and needed a jump. It began on my way home one day when I was forced to stop
for gas. At the gas station I was minding my own business when a stranger approached me and
asked if I had a set of jumper cables and if I could give him a jump. As a teenager being
approached by a grown man asking for help, thoughts of being kidnapped, tortured and murdered
filled my imagination. As he approached, my immediate reaction was to hope he would leave me
alone and continue walking, but he did not. Instead he came straight up to me and asked for my
help. I wanted to say that I did not have a

How To Write A Persuasive Essay
Writing essay is one of the things that I used to dislike before. For me, writing an essay was a
difficult and boring thing. However, I change my mind when I was doing the assignment,
"Persuasive Essay". This essay is my first English essay, and it was a quite challenging task for me.
In this assignment , I learned a lot. For example, to use the transition words to connect each
paragraph. Also, to use other writer's words to make my idea be more powerful. Thus, this
assignment improves my writing skills a lot. Before, I didn't know that I have to use the transition
words in an essay. For me, an essay is constituted by many single paragraphs. However, everything
is different when I was doing this assignment, Persuasive Essay. I noticed that every paragraph
should support theme to make an essay stronger. Also, after Ms. Weller marked this assignment, I
learned that using transition words can create a powerful link between my ideas. For example,
using the word, "in addition" , can make two paragraphs connect to each other. It also can make
readers understand the logic of an essay. Therefore, I' ve learned the writing skill which can make
each paragraph be connected from this assignment....show more content...
I really enjoyed it. As I was researching, I also could read other writer's literature. I notice that
using the quote or data can make the theme of an essay be stronger and more persuasive. For
example, I use the quote from Steven Crowder, the author of "TheTop 5 Reasons College May Be
Waste Of Time In 2015", to support my idea, going to college is unnecessary. The quote not only
can make an essay more cogent but also can make readers agree with writer's thinking. Thus, I've
learned to use the quote to make my essay to more

Persuasive Essay On Love
Trust Trumps Love
Some want to be trusted, some want to be loved. Which is more important? Maybe there is not even
a right answer to that. I personally think trust is more important than love. The question of whether
you can have one without the other is something to think about. Virgil once said "love conquers all "
but I might have to disagree with that. If love conquers all then why does love fail.
I honestly don't think you can have true love without trust. You can trust someone without loving
them but can you truly love someone without trusting them? M.K. Soni said "trust lies at the core of
love; there can be no true love without trust." If you love someone you would trust them with your
life. Trust is so important in any relationship. If there is no trust then you will be doubting or
worrying about things that you shouldn't be worrying about.
What even is trust? "Trust is both an emotional and logical act. Emotionally it is where you expose
your vulnerabilities to people, but believing they will not take advantage of your openness.
Logically, it is where you have assessed the probabilities of gain and lost, calculating expected utility
based on hard performance data, and concluded that the person in question will behave in a
predictable manner. ("What is Trust?")
Trust changes us. It makes us believe in ourselves. "Trust not only allows us to believe others, but
it allows us to believe in ourselves. We do not believe in ourselves until someone puts his or her
trust in us. If he or she makes us believe that we are capable of doing anything, then we start to
believe in ourselves" (Amin). Not only does it feel good to trust somebody but to have someone
trust in you and you trust in yourself.
Sometimes we get lost in love but trust brings us to reality. "Judgment is clouded by love but
illuminated by trust. What we fail to consider is the fact that sometimes, our judgement becomes
flawed because there are times when love surpresses reason and we get trapped in its foolish play.
Trust, on the other hand, routes us back to the reason we built the relationship, establishing a lifelong
connection with that person" (Sze). No matter how in love you are, trust always makes you think
twice.
Love and trust are

Goals, something every human being on this planet has and to reach those goals you must be
successful. We set goals to fulfill our purpose in life, but to do that, you must be successful in
meeting and completing those goals. "How Bad Do You Want It?" is a motivational speech that
highlights the requirements of being successful. This speech is important to study because success
is so vital and important for our survival as human beings, it changes the world. No matter your race,
religion, culture, etc., you want to be successful and that will have a different definition for
everyone, because only you can define what success means to you. "How Bad Do You Want It"
encourages its audience to think differently about wanting to be successful and how to make it
happen. This speech holds all the components Aristotle says a speech needs to be effective which
include, persuasive, decorative, and informational, also meaning motivational, actionable, and fun
(Morgan, 2016). While watching the football player perform each exercise repeatedly, I witnessed
the effort and dedication he exerted through each set – this commitment resonated with me, as I am
also an athlete who is expected to elicit these qualities. Not only hay, the video serves as
confirmation that success is only attainable for those who want it bad enough and are willing to
work for it. Even the background music playing provoked an internal motivation to be proactive.

Persuasive Essays : Persuasive Essay
When I began this class, I loved to write persuasive essays. I loved to write about my own opinions
and I was quite good at convincing people to agree with my stand points. To convince others to
agree on my point of view was an extraordinary feeling. I am very good at getting my point across
and giving my reasons on why I feel the way I do about a certain situation. I loved writing persuasive
essays because I love to read them as well. I love how persuasive essays have a call–to–action;
giving the readers a chance to do something about the situation. I am all for protest and rights for
others, if I believe someone is wrong I will stand my ground and prove that it is wrong. I loved to
write persuasive essays because, I am a persuasive person in life. My opinions matter just as much
as everyone else. Writing persuasive essays, is like writing from the soul. To be able to put my all
into a piece and show why it means so much to me. By taking this class, I have come to enjoy the
research paper. I feel now as I writer I still love persuasive writing; just know I include research to
help strengthen my opinions. I am an organized writer as well as a descriptive writer, being able
to write things in logical order and having things well explained for a reader. I now understand the
meaning and how to write about things I may not always agree with. Being able to describe my

Persuasive Essay On Procrastination
Have you ever postponed something super important because you wanted to have fun on a Friday
night? Convincing yourself "Oh, I'll just get it done tomorrow?" This action of putting off a task
until the next day or a later time is called procrastination. Someone displaying procrastination would
either be delaying their work for another job that they consider more important or distracting
themselves with an activity that is more interesting. Many people believe that only disorganized or
lazy people acquire or pick up this intrusive habit, but I disagree with this misconception. Productive
people, too, occasionally lack the desire to get things done on time. Take for example myself; I have
always struggled with this mannerism and even more...show more content...
The prefrontal cortex is what makes an individual decide to engage in a task. With that in mind,
putting work off makes it easier for the limbic system to dominate and give immediate pleasure
feelings which the brain prefers. In other words, people begin to manipulate this perception and
enjoy the short–term effects because it becomes more satisfying not to complete the task. This
habit can start to control how or when we choose to tend to our responsibilities (Spencer). I
recognize this feeling on a daily basis. For example, there was a day that I decided I was going to
study in the library as I would hopefully be more productive in that setting. However, as soon as I
sat down I began to fiddle with everything I could get my hands on. From obnoxiously twirling my
pencil to watching time–consuming YouTube videos, I wasn 't very productive, and as a result, I
had to cram until two AM for an exam the next day. I had always known thatprocrastination was
satisfying, and now with this new information that confirms that it feeds off of my "good" feelings
based on my body 's anatomy. Moving on, I then researched how to recognize why myself and
others procrastinate in the first place. The first reason people procrastinate is that they "become"
perfectionists. As procrastination becomes a more common act, it can also bring about the action of
perfectionism. Harold Taylor does a fantastic job at identifying perfectionism, along with other
reasons

Persuasive Essay On Mental Health Problem
Sometimes, it's not just about being simply sad anymore. As our world becomes a more hectic
place to live in, wherein even the simplest movement can invoke the biggest change and toxicity, it
cannot be helped that us, as the human beings who live on this planet, be affected. Our thoughts go
haywire beyond our control, and sometimes we just feel like breaking down. From plain sadness,
one's emotions may or may not lead to depression.
Mental health is a big issue today however, despite it being a big issue that certainly deserves
attention, people do not exactly know how to give it the proper attention and urgency it needs. There
is no point in blaming people, though. Indeed mental health is a topic that should be approached
with caution and care.
A prevalent example of a mental health problem is depression. It is a much more overwhelming
sadness that oftentimes makes people uninterested in things and even the activities they used to
enjoy the most, feelings of worthlessness, and many more. Reports even say that 1 out of 5 people
are diagnosed with depression.
The struggle with depression is something that should not be taken lightly, and also something a
person should not face alone. It is good to reach out to someone who has depression or has the
developing symptoms of depression in order to prevent anything worse from happening to them.
Of course, the challenge to simply approaching a person with depression is just as difficult. You will
have to think of the right words

Persuasive Essay On Success
Have you ever been extremely discouraged or upset due to a failure and felt like giving up? Well
guess what it's not the end of time and there will be another day and night. Bouncing back from a
failure is all dependent on how the individual like me looks at the situation and how to deal with
everything that comes with that territory. Admitting to a rejection or failure and embracing all the
emotions and thoughts come in, is one of the first things a person should do in order to climb right
back up. Success isn't entirely dependent on how perfect you are on the way up to the ladder of
achievements it's how you never give up and gain experience from those failures. If you're lucky
and able to achieve success, then your next goal is to take advantage of those failures and use them
as experience to become even more successful.
Getting hit with two failures back to back within the same two months was not pleasant for my
the mind and soul. I had found out that I did not make the prestigious Wind Ensemble in the
Broken Arrow High School band program, I made the 2nd highest band, which was a very big
deal for me. I had also found out in august that I did not make the tennis team after being on the
team for two years. My first reaction was denial and not knowing what to do with my emotions.
Later on I had accepted my defeats, but I was so discouraged at this point that I didn't even care
about anything anymore, I didn't want to practice or find any self–motivation it was all gone.

Persuasive Essay On The Art Of Art
Art declares many things. It's a way for people to articulate their views, express their emotions, and
communicate to the world in a way that gives them creative release. This ability to exhibit one's
views in a imaginative and safe manner is exceptionally important to society's growth, and to border
this freedom to articulate is detrimental. Art should not be hidden and concealed permanently from
the public eye because some see it as vulgar due to the fact that many people have varying
definitions as to what is crossing the line. Only certain, obvious things can be noted as truly indecent.
Censorship is not an easy subject. As an artist, there is often a lot of tolerance for the obscene,
from appreciation to detail on the human figure or the unique renditions of animalistic
interaction. However, the majority of the public might find the same things that the artists see as
a unique interpretation as vulgar. It is easy to see that such a standpoint must be taken into more
consideration, as the point of indecency can differ greatly for a conservative Christian compared
to a liberal atheist. The two images of what each group considers unseemly would most likely
range in their obscenity, and so it would be difficult to put a line where one should be crossed. "If
an image offends very many people, sooner or later someone will invoke the law, and along with
it judges, legislators, policymakers, and the police," quotes Melinda Hinkson in Australia's Bill
Henson scandal: notes on the new cultural attitude to images. Here we have a majority rule, where
an image should only have action dealt upon it if enough people want change. Such censorship is
easy to determine when there are pieces depicting derogatory themes, such as child pornography or
racial notions. But there are multiple cases where there are two sides of the story, and it is not as
simple.
A statue named Truth is Beauty by Marco Cochrane has recently been constructed in the city of San

Persuasive Essay On Choices In Life
I believe that everyone in this life has choices. The choices we make define who we are as people
and what we stand for. Choosing one path over another may be the best or worst decision you
could ever make. However, once you have chosen, stick to your decision because you made that
choice for a reason. Even if it is to have lunch at a certain restaurant over another, or a bigger
decision like choosing your major. Something in your life helped you make that decision, and the
worst thing you can do is live your life with the regret of a choice. If your decision ends up badly,
simply make another choice. Choose a new path. In the words of my oh so wise History teacher,
"Never second guess yourself because that's worse than making the wrong choice in the end."
One of the best examples that comes to mind is a story I heard a few weeks ago, based on a real
event. In 1979, a man named Lee Strobel and his family went to a restaurant one evening and he
gave his 7 year old daughter a nickel to get a gumball from the machine and a few moments later,
she came back to the table choking on the gum. They didn't know what to do and if they waited
for an ambulance they feared it would be too late. All of a sudden, a woman came up and said
that she is a nurse and can help. The woman, after getting the gumball out of the little girl, told her
parents that her and her husband were headed to another restaurant when all of a sudden she made
a last minute choice to go here. Because of her choice, a little girl's life was saved. Hearing stories
such as this one, reminds me of all of the choices I have made, and how they have affected me.

Persuasive Essay On Homework
Picture this; You just got home from a long hard stressful day of school and now you can relax.
Oh wait you can't. This is because you have more arduous work to do. So you grab a snack sit
down and pull out your homework. You then begin to write down everything you have to do on a
list so you have an idea of what you are going to have to do tonight. The list begins with your
double sided fifty question math sheet, three page science document, Social studies notes, followed
by a reading SCR, and a writing short story. But wait, it gets worse, on top of all that homework you
have a Math test to study for. Yes this seems very over the top. But it's not, this is what many HMS
students struggle with on a daily basis.
Yes homework can be helpful and beneficial for students but is there a point where enough
homework is enough. One survey taken throughout HMS pod 7/8c shows that 65% of students spend
1–3 hours of of their time every day on homework. The same survey shows that 19% of students
spend 4 or more hours on there home work and that only 16% spend less than an hour. Yes an hour
may not seem like a lot of time but the last thing students want to do after 7 hours of work is even
more work. Which is also why less than 8% of students do their homework right when they get home
meaning that a whopping more than 92% of students procrastinate when they have homework. These
numbers are no coincidence, many of these students who procrastinate are probably procrastinating

Reflection Of A Persuasive Reflection
Reflection of a Persuasive Essay by Vickie Hale In my revision, I decided to incorporate
actionable feedback from the feedback I received. The feedback I received was that my essay
needed more clarification, I choose to use this feedback to help make my argument more developed,
I wanted to create a better thought out essay and I worked on the clarification of my argument as
well as renewed my research. With that, I did some critical thinking to help work through the
weak areas of my essay which was the structure and syntax. Therefore, I incorporated these
suggestions because they helped me to improve my essay and help me to create a more persuasive
essay. Without these changes alongside the small revisions, I made, I do not believe my essay
would have been as well–written so they were much needed. My biggest challenges came from not
being able to pin down my argument, it took me a while to come find a side to an argument that
wasn't vague. Because, I usually write in a creative way, which does not necessarily have to be
persuasive, I usually write fictional stories and people getting the understanding from the
experiences of the characters is the outcome, but with persuasive writing, you are trying to get your
readers to not only agree with your side of the argument but to see what and why you are arguing
your side in the first place. This became difficult for me because I kept feeling like my argument
was not central and a little vague. I worked on trying to help my readers understand what and why
I was arguing my side of the argument. I had to think about who was reading my essay and this
helped. What I could have done differently is choose a more central argument, I believe it would
have reduced my challenges. This question is hard for me to answer because I did not receive but
one peer feedback, the feedback I incorporated concerning my exploration of the issue was more
clarification because that was one of the problems my peer review pointed out. I worked on my
clarification because it is one of the main elements, that is needed when you are writing a
persuasive essay or any essay for that matter. Clarification gives the essay structure so your readers
can have a full understanding of your

What To Do A Persuasive Essay On

  • 1. Writing A Persuasive Essay It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless...show more content... You'll get this definition: "The writer takes a stand on an issue–either "for" or "against"–and builds the strongest possible argument to win over the reader. In a persuasive essay, it's the writer's job to convince the reader to accept a particular point of view or take a specific action." Along with a bunch of How Tos. I've have taken a stand that is very passive–aggressive, on why I can't write this essay. I know what you're thinking, this is ridiculous. Just think of it like this, as you sit there reading me ramble on and give excuses. You're starting to listen. Yes, you have been in my spot before, lack of passion words don't form right and you're just not clear enough. I see the irony here, this very essay, it contradicts itself. A persuasive essay on why I can't write a persuasive essay. In the end it's genius, I'm not faking an opinion or sing someone's thoughts. You might have considered this option before but it seemed too stupid. You looked up prompt after prompt. Nothing. When you finally settle you know it's not your best work and the grade shows. Or you did it last minute, reworded someone else's essay. You've even considered turning in nothing, I mean what's the point Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay "Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such desperate times, my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that awaffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked everyone the age old question: "Do you like Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Persuasive Essay About Science Every kid wants to go to the moon one day, or save children and families from blazing fires They all have a dream. We were always asked the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" The stereotypical jobs always came to mind. The thought of being an astronaut, floating through space and discovering the planets. The thought of being a firefighter and saving the town from disastrous flames. These were normally the first ones. Kids would always argue over who would be the best police officer. They would run around the playground playing "Cops and Robbers", testing each other's heroic abilities. Then, there was me. Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to study some sort of science. My mom has always worked in the medical field, so as soon as she got home I would ask what she did that day. It was always different. Some days she would be working with a patient with cancer and others she would be removing an arm or leg due to a horrific car accident. It all kept me entertained as a child and has since. Although I knew what subject of study I wanted to go into, I never knew the specific field. There were so many options. You could be a physician, surgeon, or a research scientist. The list goes on and will continue to grow as new fields are developed. There is one deciding factor for everyone, though. There is always that one moment or event that caused a feeling of awe. A desire to learn more. This feeling came to me in my sophomore year of high school. Walking Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life. Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their educational journeys in a meaningful way. I hope to provide the children in my classroom an accessible, inclusive and resource rich learning environment. Access Access to a reliable, equitable and high–quality education can has a lasting positive effect on...show more content... Inclusion A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students. Resources Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration. • 5. Persuasive Essay On College Education College education will serve as a basis for someone's lifestyle if they work for it. This will open up doors and release opportunities for individuals that want it. College graduates will gain more intelligence than those that have only graduated high school. This type of constructionism will only work if students have a motive to be successful. The price of a four–year degree is quite valuable. College graduates have been proven to gain more money, learn an abundance of skills, and embrace diversity. To begin, college education has benefits that could go on forever. One of those advantages is the amount of money college graduates earn. In the article called "Is College Worth It? Clearly, New Data Say," by David Leonhardt, it describes the outcomes of having a degree and the assistance behind that. The future of a human being depends on the financial support. As mentioned in the text, "The pay gap between college graduates and everyone else reached a record high last year," (1). When jobs look at someone, it will become dependent upon past achievements or downfalls. People will accept a person with a four–year degree over someone without college experience. Individuals that gain more money, were most likely taught in college. In opposition, student debt from college can create long years of struggling issues. Students may feel like this is a disadvantage. According to the article, it mentions, "Among four–year college graduates who took out loans, average debt is about Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Essay On Suicide In today's society, suicide can be a multifaceted issue, sometimes an act of heroism, selfishness, love, or a brave choice. I am arguing against suicide because it is not a solution to a problem, it should not even be included as an option. Suicide is simply defined as "the deliberate taking of one's own life, usually the result of a psychiatric disorder, although sometimes deliberated in the face of life–threatening physical illness, significant interpersonal stress, or when under the influence of one or more substances of abuse" (Piotrowski). This topic interests me because of the fact that the rates are increasing year after year and it can happen to someone close to me at any moment. This topic should interest you too because someone close to you can show warning signs, which can be subtle or more discernible. Also if you are reading this as a parent, you should know "suicide is the third leading cause of death for those between the ages of ten and fourteen, and it is the second leading cause of death for those ages fifteen to thirty–four" (Goff). Yet the factors that play into a someone's decision is anything but simple. The most obvious and severe effect of suicide is the loss of a meaningful, valuable human life. "In the United States in 2013, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 41,149 individuals committed suicide and approximately 494,169 received medical treatment for self–inflicted injuries. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported an estimated 800,000 suicides worldwide in 2016, and suicide is the second leading cause of death among fifteen– to twenty–nine–year–olds worldwide. Women attempt suicide more often than men, but men complete suicide more often than women because men tend to use more lethal means, such as a firearm" (Piotrowski). With suicide rates on a continuous rise in America, society must ask what can be done to save lives. The main argument against suicide is that it is selfish, which is true. By you killing yourself, it causes a lot of pain to those left behind, like your family, loved ones, friends, etc. They tend to blame themselves for your death. Even if you feel like nobody in the whole world cares about you, you are wrong. When you think Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Essay On Change In Life Life is a whirlwind of events, situations, and lessons all wrapped into one. There is no one way to live life correctly or to the greatest ability because each individual has a different perception of it. Throughout the whirlwind, some of the lessons learned may benefit or harm us but at the end of the day, life waits for none. Deciding to make a change in life can be one of the hardest yet most fulfilling things a person can do. Whether a life change is occurring because one wants to be healthier, or one wants to be more positive, the act can be intimidating at first. Although there are different ways to go about it, there are at least four key steps to achieving and making a successful lifestyle change and shift. The steps include acknowledging the problem and deciding on a new lifestyle or what change to make, thoroughly researching the lifestyle and what it takes to attain it, giving a layout or making a plan of the new lifestyle, and lastly having a self–reward system for the successful transition. As a person it can be hard to admit when there is a problem or to even acknowledge when there is a flaw within. Pride can be a preventative factor in making a lifestyle change but can be rewarding when overcame. The first step towards change is accepting one needs to be made. The solution lies within and finding it is as simple as self–realization of an issue. Being aware of the obstacles that hinder growth into a new lifestyle allows the opportunity to make the necessary changes, ultimately actuating the entire life changing process. Following the admission of a problem, one must decide what to do about it and what type of life to transition to. Whether the goal is to become more positive, lose weight, get better grades, or even have a better sleep schedule, the first step to achieving it is deciding to make the change. After finally making the decision to make a change within life, the journey continues on. When learning something new in class time is spent studying and researching the topic in order to further understand and comprehend it; the same logic is applied to a lifestyle change in the sense that the research done has to be even more thorough. Some situations may require tiny changes over time Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. An Act of Kindness: A Persuasive Essay An Act of Kindness (Order #A2071175) There is a commercial on television, I forget what for, where one person performs a small act of kindness towards another, followed by that person helping someone else, and so on. The message here is that each act of kindness has a ripple effect throughout society and can effect people who we do not even know exist. There is also a secondary lesson of this commercial: eventually the acts of kindness return to the original person, indicating that kindness can be circular and if we want to live in a society where people do nice things for one another, then it begins and ends with us. This commercial indicates that acts of kindness are a way to improve society and an individual's overall life. With this is mind, I would like to convey an example of how I have been able to do my part in the overall circle of kindness by aiding a stranger who's car battery had died and needed a jump. It began on my way home one day when I was forced to stop for gas. At the gas station I was minding my own business when a stranger approached me and asked if I had a set of jumper cables and if I could give him a jump. As a teenager being approached by a grown man asking for help, thoughts of being kidnapped, tortured and murdered filled my imagination. As he approached, my immediate reaction was to hope he would leave me alone and continue walking, but he did not. Instead he came straight up to me and asked for my help. • 9. How To Write A Persuasive Essay Writing essay is one of the things that I used to dislike before. For me, writing an essay was a difficult and boring thing. However, I change my mind when I was doing the assignment, "Persuasive Essay". This essay is my first English essay, and it was a quite challenging task for me. In this assignment , I learned a lot. For example, to use the transition words to connect each paragraph. Also, to use other writer's words to make my idea be more powerful. Thus, this assignment improves my writing skills a lot. Before, I didn't know that I have to use the transition words in an essay. For me, an essay is constituted by many single paragraphs. However, everything is different when I was doing this assignment, Persuasive Essay. I noticed that every paragraph should support theme to make an essay stronger. Also, after Ms. Weller marked this assignment, I learned that using transition words can create a powerful link between my ideas. For example, using the word, "in addition" , can make two paragraphs connect to each other. It also can make readers understand the logic of an essay. Therefore, I' ve learned the writing skill which can make each paragraph be connected from this assignment....show more content... I really enjoyed it. As I was researching, I also could read other writer's literature. I notice that using the quote or data can make the theme of an essay be stronger and more persuasive. For example, I use the quote from Steven Crowder, the author of "TheTop 5 Reasons College May Be Waste Of Time In 2015", to support my idea, going to college is unnecessary. The quote not only can make an essay more cogent but also can make readers agree with writer's thinking. • 10. Persuasive Essay On Love Trust Trumps Love Some want to be trusted, some want to be loved. Which is more important? Maybe there is not even a right answer to that. I personally think trust is more important than love. The question of whether you can have one without the other is something to think about. Virgil once said "love conquers all " but I might have to disagree with that. If love conquers all then why does love fail. I honestly don't think you can have true love without trust. You can trust someone without loving them but can you truly love someone without trusting them? M.K. Soni said "trust lies at the core of love; there can be no true love without trust." If you love someone you would trust them with your life. Trust is so important in any relationship. If there is no trust then you will be doubting or worrying about things that you shouldn't be worrying about. What even is trust? "Trust is both an emotional and logical act. Emotionally it is where you expose your vulnerabilities to people, but believing they will not take advantage of your openness. Logically, it is where you have assessed the probabilities of gain and lost, calculating expected utility based on hard performance data, and concluded that the person in question will behave in a predictable manner. ("What is Trust?") Trust changes us. It makes us believe in ourselves. "Trust not only allows us to believe others, but it allows us to believe in ourselves. We do not believe in ourselves until someone puts his or her trust in us. If he or she makes us believe that we are capable of doing anything, then we start to believe in ourselves" (Amin). Not only does it feel good to trust somebody but to have someone trust in you and you trust in yourself. Sometimes we get lost in love but trust brings us to reality. "Judgment is clouded by love but illuminated by trust. What we fail to consider is the fact that sometimes, our judgement becomes flawed because there are times when love surpresses reason and we get trapped in its foolish play. Trust, on the other hand, routes us back to the reason we built the relationship, establishing a lifelong connection with that person" (Sze). No matter how in love you are, trust always makes you think twice. Love and trust are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Persuasive Essay On Success Goals, something every human being on this planet has and to reach those goals you must be successful. We set goals to fulfill our purpose in life, but to do that, you must be successful in meeting and completing those goals. "How Bad Do You Want It?" is a motivational speech that highlights the requirements of being successful. This speech is important to study because success is so vital and important for our survival as human beings, it changes the world. No matter your race, religion, culture, etc., you want to be successful and that will have a different definition for everyone, because only you can define what success means to you. "How Bad Do You Want It" encourages its audience to think differently about wanting to be successful and how to make it happen. This speech holds all the components Aristotle says a speech needs to be effective which include, persuasive, decorative, and informational, also meaning motivational, actionable, and fun (Morgan, 2016). While watching the football player perform each exercise repeatedly, I witnessed the effort and dedication he exerted through each set – this commitment resonated with me, as I am also an athlete who is expected to elicit these qualities. Not only hay, the video serves as confirmation that success is only attainable for those who want it bad enough and are willing to work for it. Even the background music playing provoked an internal motivation to be proactive. By delivering Eric Thomas's speech in his unique hip Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Persuasive Essays : Persuasive Essay When I began this class, I loved to write persuasive essays. I loved to write about my own opinions and I was quite good at convincing people to agree with my stand points. To convince others to agree on my point of view was an extraordinary feeling. I am very good at getting my point across and giving my reasons on why I feel the way I do about a certain situation. I loved writing persuasive essays because I love to read them as well. I love how persuasive essays have a call–to–action; giving the readers a chance to do something about the situation. I am all for protest and rights for others, if I believe someone is wrong I will stand my ground and prove that it is wrong. I loved to write persuasive essays because, I am a persuasive person in life. My opinions matter just as much as everyone else. Writing persuasive essays, is like writing from the soul. To be able to put my all into a piece and show why it means so much to me. By taking this class, I have come to enjoy the research paper. I feel now as I writer I still love persuasive writing; just know I include research to help strengthen my opinions. I am an organized writer as well as a descriptive writer, being able to write things in logical order and having things well explained for a reader. I now understand the meaning and how to write about things I may not always agree with. Being able to describe my writing, giving more detail is something taking this class has taught me. • 13. Persuasive Essay On Procrastination Have you ever postponed something super important because you wanted to have fun on a Friday night? Convincing yourself "Oh, I'll just get it done tomorrow?" This action of putting off a task until the next day or a later time is called procrastination. Someone displaying procrastination would either be delaying their work for another job that they consider more important or distracting themselves with an activity that is more interesting. Many people believe that only disorganized or lazy people acquire or pick up this intrusive habit, but I disagree with this misconception. Productive people, too, occasionally lack the desire to get things done on time. Take for example myself; I have always struggled with this mannerism and even more...show more content... The prefrontal cortex is what makes an individual decide to engage in a task. With that in mind, putting work off makes it easier for the limbic system to dominate and give immediate pleasure feelings which the brain prefers. In other words, people begin to manipulate this perception and enjoy the short–term effects because it becomes more satisfying not to complete the task. This habit can start to control how or when we choose to tend to our responsibilities (Spencer). I recognize this feeling on a daily basis. For example, there was a day that I decided I was going to study in the library as I would hopefully be more productive in that setting. However, as soon as I sat down I began to fiddle with everything I could get my hands on. From obnoxiously twirling my pencil to watching time–consuming YouTube videos, I wasn 't very productive, and as a result, I had to cram until two AM for an exam the next day. I had always known thatprocrastination was satisfying, and now with this new information that confirms that it feeds off of my "good" feelings based on my body 's anatomy. Moving on, I then researched how to recognize why myself and others procrastinate in the first place. The first reason people procrastinate is that they "become" perfectionists. As procrastination becomes a more common act, it can also bring about the action of perfectionism. Harold Taylor does a fantastic job at identifying perfectionism, along with other reasons Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Persuasive Essay On Mental Health Problem Sometimes, it's not just about being simply sad anymore. As our world becomes a more hectic place to live in, wherein even the simplest movement can invoke the biggest change and toxicity, it cannot be helped that us, as the human beings who live on this planet, be affected. Our thoughts go haywire beyond our control, and sometimes we just feel like breaking down. From plain sadness, one's emotions may or may not lead to depression. Mental health is a big issue today however, despite it being a big issue that certainly deserves attention, people do not exactly know how to give it the proper attention and urgency it needs. There is no point in blaming people, though. Indeed mental health is a topic that should be approached with caution and care. A prevalent example of a mental health problem is depression. It is a much more overwhelming sadness that oftentimes makes people uninterested in things and even the activities they used to enjoy the most, feelings of worthlessness, and many more. Reports even say that 1 out of 5 people are diagnosed with depression. The struggle with depression is something that should not be taken lightly, and also something a person should not face alone. It is good to reach out to someone who has depression or has the developing symptoms of depression in order to prevent anything worse from happening to them. Of course, the challenge to simply approaching a person with depression is just as difficult. You will have to think of the right words Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Persuasive Essay On Success Have you ever been extremely discouraged or upset due to a failure and felt like giving up? Well guess what it's not the end of time and there will be another day and night. Bouncing back from a failure is all dependent on how the individual like me looks at the situation and how to deal with everything that comes with that territory. Admitting to a rejection or failure and embracing all the emotions and thoughts come in, is one of the first things a person should do in order to climb right back up. Success isn't entirely dependent on how perfect you are on the way up to the ladder of achievements it's how you never give up and gain experience from those failures. If you're lucky and able to achieve success, then your next goal is to take advantage of those failures and use them as experience to become even more successful. Getting hit with two failures back to back within the same two months was not pleasant for my the mind and soul. I had found out that I did not make the prestigious Wind Ensemble in the Broken Arrow High School band program, I made the 2nd highest band, which was a very big deal for me. I had also found out in august that I did not make the tennis team after being on the team for two years. My first reaction was denial and not knowing what to do with my emotions. Later on I had accepted my defeats, but I was so discouraged at this point that I didn't even care about anything anymore, I didn't want to practice or find any self–motivation it was all gone. • 16. Persuasive Essay On The Art Of Art Art declares many things. It's a way for people to articulate their views, express their emotions, and communicate to the world in a way that gives them creative release. This ability to exhibit one's views in a imaginative and safe manner is exceptionally important to society's growth, and to border this freedom to articulate is detrimental. Art should not be hidden and concealed permanently from the public eye because some see it as vulgar due to the fact that many people have varying definitions as to what is crossing the line. Only certain, obvious things can be noted as truly indecent. Censorship is not an easy subject. As an artist, there is often a lot of tolerance for the obscene, from appreciation to detail on the human figure or the unique renditions of animalistic interaction. However, the majority of the public might find the same things that the artists see as a unique interpretation as vulgar. It is easy to see that such a standpoint must be taken into more consideration, as the point of indecency can differ greatly for a conservative Christian compared to a liberal atheist. The two images of what each group considers unseemly would most likely range in their obscenity, and so it would be difficult to put a line where one should be crossed. "If an image offends very many people, sooner or later someone will invoke the law, and along with it judges, legislators, policymakers, and the police," quotes Melinda Hinkson in Australia's Bill Henson scandal: notes on the new cultural attitude to images. Here we have a majority rule, where an image should only have action dealt upon it if enough people want change. Such censorship is easy to determine when there are pieces depicting derogatory themes, such as child pornography or racial notions. But there are multiple cases where there are two sides of the story, and it is not as simple. A statue named Truth is Beauty by Marco Cochrane has recently been constructed in the city of San Leandro, here in the bay area. This statue depicts a nude woman dancing, her body semi–geometric, and although you can not vividly see the all of the womans body parts, it is not difficult to know that she is supposed to be depicted as naked. A completely naked figure, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 18. Persuasive Essay On Choices In Life I believe that everyone in this life has choices. The choices we make define who we are as people and what we stand for. Choosing one path over another may be the best or worst decision you could ever make. However, once you have chosen, stick to your decision because you made that choice for a reason. Even if it is to have lunch at a certain restaurant over another, or a bigger decision like choosing your major. Something in your life helped you make that decision, and the worst thing you can do is live your life with the regret of a choice. If your decision ends up badly, simply make another choice. Choose a new path. In the words of my oh so wise History teacher, "Never second guess yourself because that's worse than making the wrong choice in the end." One of the best examples that comes to mind is a story I heard a few weeks ago, based on a real event. In 1979, a man named Lee Strobel and his family went to a restaurant one evening and he gave his 7 year old daughter a nickel to get a gumball from the machine and a few moments later, she came back to the table choking on the gum. They didn't know what to do and if they waited for an ambulance they feared it would be too late. All of a sudden, a woman came up and said that she is a nurse and can help. The woman, after getting the gumball out of the little girl, told her parents that her and her husband were headed to another restaurant when all of a sudden she made a last minute choice to go here. Because of her choice, a little girl's life was saved. Hearing stories such as this one, reminds me of all of the choices I have made, and how they have affected me. When I was 6, my family up and moved to a new school called Knox County. I loved it there for I had so many friends and nothing bad ever happened. Then at the end of 5th grade, my dad got a new job so we moved schools again. This time I was 11 and starting middle school at a small school called Pilot Grove, and I've been here ever since. There are times I catch myself wondering what would've happened if we had stayed in Knox or the first town I ever lived in, Philadelphia (no not the one in Pennsylvania). Sometimes I even believe that things would be a lot better if we had stayed there. There are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Persuasive Essay On Homework Picture this; You just got home from a long hard stressful day of school and now you can relax. Oh wait you can't. This is because you have more arduous work to do. So you grab a snack sit down and pull out your homework. You then begin to write down everything you have to do on a list so you have an idea of what you are going to have to do tonight. The list begins with your double sided fifty question math sheet, three page science document, Social studies notes, followed by a reading SCR, and a writing short story. But wait, it gets worse, on top of all that homework you have a Math test to study for. Yes this seems very over the top. But it's not, this is what many HMS students struggle with on a daily basis. Yes homework can be helpful and beneficial for students but is there a point where enough homework is enough. One survey taken throughout HMS pod 7/8c shows that 65% of students spend 1–3 hours of of their time every day on homework. The same survey shows that 19% of students spend 4 or more hours on there home work and that only 16% spend less than an hour. Yes an hour may not seem like a lot of time but the last thing students want to do after 7 hours of work is even more work. Which is also why less than 8% of students do their homework right when they get home meaning that a whopping more than 92% of students procrastinate when they have homework. These numbers are no coincidence, many of these students who procrastinate are probably procrastinating simply Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Reflection Of A Persuasive Reflection Reflection of a Persuasive Essay by Vickie Hale In my revision, I decided to incorporate actionable feedback from the feedback I received. The feedback I received was that my essay needed more clarification, I choose to use this feedback to help make my argument more developed, I wanted to create a better thought out essay and I worked on the clarification of my argument as well as renewed my research. With that, I did some critical thinking to help work through the weak areas of my essay which was the structure and syntax. Therefore, I incorporated these suggestions because they helped me to improve my essay and help me to create a more persuasive essay. Without these changes alongside the small revisions, I made, I do not believe my essay would have been as well–written so they were much needed. My biggest challenges came from not being able to pin down my argument, it took me a while to come find a side to an argument that wasn't vague. Because, I usually write in a creative way, which does not necessarily have to be persuasive, I usually write fictional stories and people getting the understanding from the experiences of the characters is the outcome, but with persuasive writing, you are trying to get your readers to not only agree with your side of the argument but to see what and why you are arguing your side in the first place. This became difficult for me because I kept feeling like my argument was not central and a little vague. I worked on trying to help my readers understand what and why I was arguing my side of the argument. I had to think about who was reading my essay and this helped. What I could have done differently is choose a more central argument, I believe it would have reduced my challenges. This question is hard for me to answer because I did not receive but one peer feedback, the feedback I incorporated concerning my exploration of the issue was more clarification because that was one of the problems my peer review pointed out. I worked on my clarification because it is one of the main elements, that is needed when you are writing a persuasive essay or any essay for that matter. Clarification gives the essay structure so your readers can have a full understanding of your Get more content on HelpWriting.net
