Internet And The Internet Essay
Since the late 1960s and early 1970s, computer scientists have improved the accessibility of the
internet to all people. Technology has continuously improved through the introduction of computer
programming and coding and the use of cellular devices. Today, anyone can have access to internet
through the various forms of technology such as cell phones, computers, laptops, tablets, smart
watches, etc. Over the past 15 years, the internet has begun to incorporate itself into education by
allowing students to perform research more efficiently and have more interactive learning through
the use of educational websites, Smart Boards, etc. Accordingly, not only has the internet greatly
impacted education making it more interesting, but it has also impacted domestic lives. Parents now
have an easier way for their children to learn online at earlier ages through educational websites and
online learning programs, such as Starfall and ABCMouse. Children, from ages as young as three
years old to teenagers, have learned to operate the internet. Although children have developed this
knowledge, consequently, many have failed to learn the repercussions of their actions when
inappropriately using the internet. One of the most common repercussions one can often face is
bullying through the internet, entitled as cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is defined as verbally
harming an individual or group by anonymously or non–anonymously posting harmful information
through the internet. The percentage

The Internet And The Internet
Internet is an electronic communication networks that connects computer networks and
organizational computer facilities around the word (Merriam–webster.com, 1974). Internet Users are
increasing daily the number of internet users where it has increased from 1.024 billion to 3.578
billion between 2005 till 2017 (Statistia.com, 2017). This shows that internet is now used in most
parts of the world and it is contributing more and more every day. Indeed, internet is now an
addiction it became part of our life, it is now used by every one and by all different age groups. The
power of internet has transformed technologies such as computer, phones, Radio etc., like nothing
before it is revolutionary, this have the stage for this extraordinary integration of capabilities (Leiner
et al, 1997). The internet is a medium for collaboration and interaction between individuals using
devices without any regards for geographic location, internet is a world full of information (Cerf et
al, 1997). Nowadays internet contributed in politics, economy, and in our social life. The continues
internet revolution still questioned in todays world. Undoubtedly the internet has been beneficial for
social, economical and political development in the 21st century. Some people may agree with that
opinion and some may disagree this essay will discuss both views in details using many different
sources. The essay will discuss the Political, Social and economical revolution of internet, by how it

The Internet : The Psychological Effects Of The Internet
Throughout America's history there has been a sharp increase in technological devices. Some of the
current technological devices that most people use are cellphones, tablets, iPods, and some form of a
computer. All of these different devices have one thing in common. That one thing in common is the
internet. The internet has an extreme role in today's society where it can be used to play games,
socialize, and communicate with friends and family. Since, the internet is used by a lot of young
people; there has been a debate on whether the internet has psychological benefits to it.
Psychological effects is defined as pertaining or affecting a person's mind in which it affects their
function of awareness, feelings, or motivation. These effects can either be beneficial or non–
beneficial. In this essay I will be stating why the internet does not have psychological effects that
are beneficial to people. There are no psychological benefits pertaining to the internet due to
psychological effects such as self–concept which can have health effects that pertains to one's
awareness, feelings, or motivation. The usage of the internet pertains to two psychological
outcomes. In the article Children and internet Use: Social, Psychological and Academic
consequences for Low–income Children by Linda Jackson, Alexander Eye, and Frank Biocca states,
"The two psychological outcomes are general affect and feelings of self–worth" (Jackson, 2003).
Some general affects that the internet can have on an individual would be health issues and
academic problems. Many young people spend too much time on the internet then doing their
homework. Linda Jackson states, "Children's usage of the internet estimates from as high as several
hours a day to as low as 3 hours a week" (Jackson, 2003). The amount of time that is spent on the
internet can determine how much the internet affects your children or yourself. Some health issues
that could be a problem through the usage of the internet would be depression and heart disease.
One of the consequences of the usage of the internet that can be psychologically harmful to a person
is cyber–bullying. Cyber–bullying is happening more frequently in the article of Psychological,
Physical, and

The Internet : The Dangers Of The Internet
The Dangers of the Internet The internet and social media have come a long way in the past decade.
"This is an exciting time to be a young person interested in media" (Jennifer Shewmaker, PhD)
Technology has evolved into something that we as humans use every single day. Nowadays children
are growing with electronic devices and internet surrounding them. With technology on their hands
all day they get exposed too inappropriate content, devolving mental problems and, in some cases
being victims of cyberbullying. And yes, there's no doubt the internet is a useful tool that we use
every day for homework and other uses. "But instant messaging, chat room, emails and social
networking can also bring trouble – from cyberbullying to more serious internet dangers, including
exposure to sexual predators (Katherine Kam, par.3) Too children, who's brains aren't well
developed they fall to being victims of the to what the internet can cause too their young lives.
Many adolescents don't see the dangers of the internet, but us as adults should prevent introducing
the internet too them as such a young age before it's too late. Lots of inappropriate content is on the
internet and social media not meant for children. But with the internet being introduced too them
and being all around them, they find things that we as parents don't want them to see. Many of
children click on pages without knowing what it actually is, "Finding inappropriate content can be
as easy as clicking on the

The Internet : The Existence Of The Internet
How did our internet become of existence? How did we get so tied up with making the majority of
our purchases online through our internet over our brick and mortar retail store? Our retail
purchases have elevated throughout the past few years. This has been an immense change
transitioning from brick and mortar stores to have the online retail stores. Online shopping could not
thrive without the existence or our internet.
Our internet has become a part of the norm our daily lives. In 1962, J.C.R. Licklider, an MIT
Computer Scientist, came up with one of the greatest ideas we have all learned to utilize daily. The
idea was creating a global computer network. He worked closely with the U.S. Department of
Defense's Advance Research Project Agency, known as ARPA. In the early 1960s, Licklider shared
his idea with several of his colleagues, one of them being Lawrence G. Roberts. Roberts, an
American Scientist, was also the program manager and office director of ARPA. In around 1969,
Roberts publishes a plan called ARPANET, a computer network. This computer network is funded
by ARPA. From this point on, ARPANET has become a digital post office which has only grown
and continues to grow.
In the early 1970s, Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf created a protocol technology called Transmission
Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. This protocol, also known as TCP/IP, allows for multiple
networks to be linked together without having to interrupt the other networks. In 1973, an electrical

The Impact Of Internet On The Internet
The internet since its creation was a promising tool. How that tool was to be used was unexpected.
Today the internet has been used in knowledge and entertainment that exceeds a human being's life
span. The question lives with how affects the internet people sociologically, how are new
generations using the internet compared to the generations were in its infancy? What are the pro and
cons of the sociological effects of this vast tool? The internet is now also used to interact with
people around the world. A single person can interact with the world through blogs ,a web article,
social networking, cell phone, through texting, even through videos.(GCFLearnFree Internet 101:
How Is the Internet Used?) Just with one click of a button, or even a finger tap/swipe, a person's
blog, picture, comment is post public on the web where potentially, thousands, even millions could
see what a single person posted. A blog extends a person's opinion, and knowledge of whatever they
wish to talk about. The whole world could see what the person posted. For example, a person could
blog about how they feel about the 2016 Presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders, and share his
approvals, or disapprovals and why in a blog. Once shared, other people could comment on what the
person said about Bernie Sanders about whether they agree, disagree, or in between with the
person's opinion on Bernie Sanders. This creates an interaction between two people who are
typically finished strangers that

The Internet : The Importance Of The Internet
Growing up and being raised during the time when the internet was becoming popular and easily
useable has given me a huge respect and admiration for those who created it, maintain the
knowledge within and continue to make it as widely available to as many people as possible. That is
the right thing to do given all that can be accomplished with an Internet connection. It is invaluable
in today's world to say the least. The access to unlimited knowledge and learning capabilities, the
ability to instantly communicate and share anything you can imagine, and endless entertainment
possibilities just scratch the surface of what is possible with access to the World Wide Web. The
Internet is a wealth of knowledge and information, almost overwhelmingly so. With a few simple
clicks and searches through an impressive and varying array of powerful search engines it's very
easy to learn exactly what you intended to. Did you just watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail
and really need to know what the air–speed velocity of an unladen swallow is? Or maybe you and a
friend are at odds about the top speed of a Mag–Lev train. Finding the answers to those questions is
simply a matter of performing a simple search. Perhaps you have more serious intentions like
learning a new language, which has become substantially easier with the internet as well. Plenty of
websites, programs and Youtube channels are devoted to teaching regular people a new language at
whatever skill level they need, whether you

The Internet And The Internet
Does the internet seclude us to our own little world, or does the internet open up the world to us?
The internet being somewhat new allows us to have access to an abundance of information through
out the world. Having this access allows us to educate and be more aware of what is going on
around us, not isolate us to one group according to our beliefs or make us narrow minded. Being
able to talk with people across the world at our finger tips has given us one touch access to meet
many new people and interact in ways never possible before the internet. The internet provides a
wealth of information and gives us the opportunity to connect with others in the world. The internet
does link us to our friends, but I do not agree that the internet isolates us to our friends and groups
whom only have the same beliefs or interests (Seife 294). For instance, I posted on Facebook my
political stance on kneeling during the national anthem. That one post turned into 50 posts from my
group of friends to their friends, and their friends all conversing about the stand or kneel issue.
Some people chatting on this discussion was friends of friends and who are from California, Florida
and Wisconsin. When all was said and done, I made new friends on Facebook which I would have
never been able to meet if is was not for the internets ability to link us all together. As I stated above
I did not know a lot of those commenting on my post since they are friends of friends who live out
of state. We all

1. Abstract:
In the vision of the Internet of Things (IoT), an expanding number of installed gadgets of various
kinds (e.g., sensors, cellular telephones, cameras, smart meters, brilliant autos, traffic lights, savvy
home appliances, and so forth.) are currently fit for imparting and sharing information over the
Internet. Despite the fact that the idea of utilizing inserted frameworks to control gadgets,
instruments and apparatuses has been proposed for practically decades now, with each new era, the
continually expanding abilities of calculation and correspondence posture new open doors,
additionally new difficulties. As IoT turns into a dynamic examination zone, distinctive strategies
from different perspectives have been investigated to advance the improvement and notoriety of
IoT. One pattern is seeing IoT as Web of Things (WoT) where the open Web norms are bolstered for
data sharing and gadget interoperation. By penetrating savvy things into existing Web, the
customary web administrations are advanced with physical world administrations. This WoT vision
empowers another method for narrowing the boundary in the middle of virtual and physical
universes. In this paper, we expound the structural engineering and some key empowering advances
of WoT. Some pioneer open stages and models are

The Internet And The Internet
The internet has made up many aspects of our lives. Sometimes these aspects aren't good, and
sometimes they aren't bad. Everytime you turn on your computer what's the first thing that you open
up? The majority of the time the internet browser is the very first thing you open up. Whether it's to
listen to music, watch a movie, or to online shop. Internet is an everyday part of our lives, for
college students it is essential to look at our grades. For teachers it is how they post our grades and
the majority of our homework assignments.
If someone asked you with all the syfy movies you watch how many of them are robot based
movies. Your response would most likely be a lot of them. In the world today it's a real fear that not
just Americans but humans have that technology will take over the world. With every technological
advance we take there is always a group of people looking for ways to get through back doors. Back
doors lead to the dark web which is where people deal illegal drugs, sell body parts and people. This
is a prime example of that people repeat themselves time and time again through the generations. In
more recent years we have seen that in the automobile industry the jobs became more automated the
workers went on strike. They didn't show up to work and refused to do so for days. This shows that
even though we have been through a situation once we don't learn from our mistakes. We read many
articles the common factor through all of these articles is the

The Internet : The Dangers Of The Internet
The Dangers of the Internet There were 3,685,824,813 internet users in the world as of June 30,
2016. When we use the internet to look up the weather, sports, or the daily news do we ever thing
about the possible dangers? The biggest increase has been among young adults, with time spent
online almost tripling from 10 hours and 24 minutes each week in 2005 to 27 hours and 36 minutes
in 2014. In total, the average adult spends more than 20 hours online a week, which includes time
spent on the internet at work. Well there are many dangers that come with using the internet some
we already know as in hackers, but we can't know all of them. Internet can be an extremely useful
tool for young people. But instant messaging, chat rooms, emails and social networking sites can
also bring trouble. One in 20 children admitted arranging a secret meeting with someone they met
online. One of the most common dangers many know is Cyberbullying which is the use of
electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or
threatening nature. Almost three in 10 parents (29%) let their kids use the internet without any
restrictions or supervision Today I am going to talk about three dangers of the internet they are
sexual predators, damaged reputations, and pornography. For one thing, there are sexual predators
are the internet every day. About 1 in 7 kids have been sexually solicited online says, John Shehan,

Caught in an Online Web: The Mistakes That Could Haunt You In a world where information can be
easily accessed with a quick web search and where online networking plays a huge role in present–
day communication, many educators and employers are urging students and potential hires to think
twice before posting. The reason for this is that the mistreatment of internet sources has
consequences. Issac Gilman– an assistant professor and Communications and Research Librarian at
Pacific University – evaluated how the misuse of online sources could harm a student's professional
and academic life. In Gilman's article Online Lives, Offline Consequences: Professionalism,
Information Ethics, and Professional Students, it is clear that a plague of plagiarism persists in the
modern world and that the effects of certain social media posts are often neglected. While teachers
and other adults should prepare students for the potential risks of engaging in academic dishonesty
and social media misuse, students must take it upon themselves to be aware of how their online
actions can affect their lives and take precautions as needed.
In Isaac Gilman's article, one of the topics he discussed was the importance of academic integrity.
While the internet provides a useful tool for learning new things, it can also be used to steal ideas
and work. Plagiarism has been around for a long time, but the access to online information makes it
effortless. Paper mills which gain a profit from selling

Welcome to the 21st century where the world is more connected than ever. All thanks to the internet,
people can communicate with anyone through social media platforms anywhere in the world with
internet access. This new process of communication revolutionizes the way we see our fellow
person in reality and online. The internet has created a world that is fast, efficient and concise where
soon the digital world will take the role of reality. The essence of human interaction has suddenly
become a connection made between screens rather than between people. With that said, I believe
that social media is destroying the nature of intimacy. To resolve this issue, I'll push through a

Some people like school and some people don't for various reasons. However, the responses are
based on the individual's experience that the person had and at the end of the day that's what makes
everyone different, our different experiences we endure through life. Now, as we go through our
lives we meet people. Whether it's at school, on the basketball court or at a party, we meet at all
types of people. During these encounters, these people may become your colleague, a friend or a
potential partner. Regardless of who they are, the value of the experience lies in how you meet them
and how you felt being with them. Maybe you remember the first time you met your best friend or
the time you first met your girlfriend/boyfriend, it's a feeling that is unique and sacred towards you.
The value of human interaction is simply more than a routine, it is an intimate and integral part of
human interaction. These moments where we connect with one another is what defines you, we are
all products of our environment and we all need each other to see who we really are. Unfortunately,
this may be threatened by the use of the internet where suddenly are experiences become digital
memories as live them.
On the next stop to understand this initiative, we must grasp the heart of the internet. The internet
plays both sides of the field in this battle for humanity. In the 21st century, the internet has become a

The Impact Of Internet On The Internet
We can't deny that our lives revolved around the Internet. The Internet has become another tool for
us to have access to anything that we want with just a click of a button. This generation has become
very dependent on the Internet whether it's through communication or searching something online.
We are starting to lose customs that we once had in the old days where we would communicate in
person and we would not rely on the Internet for much. Our society has embellished the online
world through our everyday life and we are constantly going online, whether it's to make
reservations for dinner, paying bills, requesting a uber, and a simple ordering essentials. Throughout
our history people have always seemed to be worried about new technology. Technology is
constantly improving and creating new ideas, therefore there fear people have because Affected and
overwhelmed by so much technology. It's the 21st–century and people are already amazed with the
technology we have and can't even keep up with it. There's enough evidence that shows that the
Internet is starting to affect the way we think. The Internet has become the source for us to find the
information it's slowly affecting our brains.
The Internet is constantly influencing the way we think. We rely so much on the Internet to be our
main source to gather our information or communicating with the online world. Whether we are

The Internet And The Future Of The Internet
The Internet has revolutionized how people interact with each other on a daily basis. Before the
Internet permeated our lives, staying connected to friends and family was difficult and costly.
However, today, staying connected is easy and accessible (O'Dell, 2011). The way we communicate
changed when the first e–mail was sent in 1971 (O'Dell, 2011; Borges, 2012; Kaplan &Haenlein,
2010). When the Internet was launched in 1978, the Bulletin Board System (BBS) was invented to
allow users to exchange messages, data, news, and software (Bennett, 2012; Kaplan & Haenlein,
2010). In 1979, two individuals created Usenet, a worldwide discussion system that allowed users to
post public messages (O'Dell, 2011; Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010). The 1980s witnessed the
introduction of online service providers such as Compuserve, Prodigy, and America Online (AOL)
(Curtis, 2011). By 1989, British engineer Tim Berners–Lee had begun to work at CERN on what
was to become the World Wide Web (Borges, 2012; Curtis, 2011).
In the 1990s, the Mosaic web browser was launched, GeoCities, one of the Web's first social
networking sites, was founded, and personal home pages began to emerge (O'Dell, 2011; Bennett,
2012; Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010). The year 1995 marked the era of corporate web pages and e–
commerce (Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010). Thus, it is no surprise that the current trend toward social
media can be traced back to the Internet's roots, since social media has transformed the World Wide
Web from web sites that provided static information to web sites that allow information exchange
between users (Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010). The social media era dates back to 1998, when Bruce
and Susan Abelson founded Open Diary, an early social networking site that brought online diary
writers together in a single community (Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010). The technical advances and the
growing availability of high–speed Internet access over the past 30 years have enabled a form of
virtual content sharing, leading to the creation of social networking sites such as MySpace in 2003
and Facebook in 2004 that are fundamentally different and more powerful than the Bulletin Board
System (BBS) of the late 1970s (Borges, 2012; Curtis, 2011; Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010).

The Internet And The Internet
Introduction –
Today, what role does the internet play in your daily life? Probably quite a significant one. In almost
every culture we see, the internet plays some kind of role and it is only the severity of the reliance
we put on it every day that changes. In both a local and global context it is evident that the worlds
reliance and infatuation with the internet can inspire both positive and negative social change. Even
in the worlds most isolated cultures its through the use of the internet that we are even aware of their
existence. We use the internet to reach information that prior to its invention we would have never
known.
In both the Health care system and education system the use of the internet to help carry out
everyday activities has increase significantly since its creation in 1983 . From blackboards to
smartboards the education systems dependency on the internet to help educate the future generations
through the use of technology has increased a staggering amount. Making the most of what comes
their way, sometimes despite the serious consequences that comes from introducing youth to the
world wide web. The health care system now relies on the internet to rake through mountains of
medical information to save the lives from some of the rarest diseases. This also leaves doctors the
ability to focus on patient care rather than research.

The Internet : The Beginning Of The Internet
The beginnings of the Internet The Internet is and always will be the most revolutionary thing of our
time. The internet is literally is, going, and will be the most important thing in our entire existence.
It alone has made communication much easier and faster world wide. With it's invention, it made
telegraphs, telephones, radios seem out of date. But in the Internets early developments it was kept a
secret. The internet would not be possible without computers which developed in the 1950s. With
the question of, "How can we make communication happen faster around the world?" Originally the
goal was to be able to enable networking using a bunch of memos to become the starting point of
Social Media. The first project leader of this entire experiment was J.C.R. Licklider at MIT. He even
wrote a discussion in 1962 talking about his "Galactic Network" concept. He was the one who came
up with the idea to connect through computers using networks so people could access data as
quickly as they can. He explained to his successors how important this concept was. And soon
enough it became the start of the most important project ever to be done. The United States
Department of Defense awarded contracts to computer science labs in the United States, United
Kingdom, and in France to come up with making this question happen and also with the
development of the ARPANET project. ARPANET is the first network to conclude the protocol
suite. In 1969 Professor Leonard Kleinrock a

The Internet has had a tremendous impact on organizations. For some organizations, that influence
has not been positive. For example, surveys suggest that as a growing number of people make their
own travel plans online, travel agents are seeing fewer customers. Use the Web to research
organizations that have been affected negatively by the Internet. What effect has the Internet had?
How can the organizations compete with the Internet? Do you feel that computers might replace
humans entirely in the workforce? Why or Why not? Write a brief report.
The web has played more than a significant role in this era. Today, many people prefer to buy things
online because it provides an effortless way for them to purchase their favorite products without
having to go to the store and go through things like a bad service or deal with an angry employee.
Many of these online stores provide great products that are creative, inexpensive and affordable,
making the customers feel unique and special every time they purchase an item. However, this
simplicity that these online stores provide affects negatively small businesses and organizations.
Because of their reduced cost of products, online retailers can offer customers a wider range of
products at prices that are competitive with the traditional stores. This can lead to "showrooming, in
which customers browse the products they want in the traditional stores, but purchase it online for a
cheaper price, affecting mostly small stores or organizations(Storm). Furthermore, business
communication might be faster and easier over the internet, but the lack of face–to–face
communication sometimes leads to the perception of a company as uncaring and impersonal.
Similarly, employees who only communicate with managers and co–workers through email may
feel discouraged and become less productive in the investment of the company's success(Storm).
Another negative impact that internet has on organizations and small businesses is the leaking of
sensitive information. When business or organizations are conducted over the Internet, technical
malfunctions or malicious hackers can expose sensitive data, such as addresses, passwords, credit
card details or bank account details. Causing bad

Technology is being invented every day, and children are growing up in a society where they are
learning to use and misuse the internet. According to NSPCC, "One in five, 8 to 11–year old's and
seven in ten, 12 to 15–year old's have a social media profile" ("Ofcom" 72). The internet can be very
helpful and educational in today's world if used properly parents just need to be sure that children
are using it properly. Parents are worried about the predators and lack of physical activity that social
media and the internet has caused on future generations. Haven't parents really caused this problem
on their own? As parents it's time to unite to solve the problem, all that's required is to become
educated, and to educate our children. Children misusing the internet can lure predators, have
children suffering from cyber bullying, and can cause children to have attitude and behavioral
problems.
An internet predator is a person who seeks out children from all ages, talks to them sexually, and
sometimes even tries to meet up with the children. According to an article about online predators,
"They look for children that are emotionally vulnerable which can be related to personal issues
derived from problems at school or home. They use these issues to befriend the victim and
empathize with them while building a pseudo friendship and trust" ("Online Predators" 1). They will
often lie about their real age to feel closer to the child. It's a problem because so many children and

Internet Privacy And The Internet
Imagine a world without major programs like Facebook or Microsoft office, how would we get our
candy crush reminders, or write a five page essays for an English final. Major programs like the
ones I've stated may not have been possible without hackers. Hackers are people who gain access to
unauthorized information using a computer. I know, it sounds bad that people are gaining
unauthorized information by computer, but they actually make the internet a safer place. With the
growth of the internet comes the growth of hackers and internet privacy. New laws that would
increase internet privacy and, limit hackers would halt the internets growth and development. Since
the year 2000, the internet has grown enormously we can all agree and with this growth comes a
growth of internet users. With all the internet users, online comes people trying to accuse their
information by illegal means. People are uncomfortable with the fact that people are gaining access
to their information and tracking their web usage. When conducting an interview with Ms. Rebecca
LaFave the Reference Librarian I asked her the question " Do you believe it ok if the
hackers/businesses track your movement across the web"? and she replied with "No. I find it
extremely intrusive, at best. At worse it's an invasion of the 14th Amendment" (Lafave). People feel
as if hackers are taking advantage of them by using their information but some hackers may be
helping online users. With everything, this is a good and a

Internet Privacy: An Analysis of "The Internet is a Surveillance State"
Since its inception in the late 1960s, the internet has changed the expansion of communications to
new levels. Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and many others have provided the public with means of
communication. The sharing of photos, thoughts and even ideas has become a more prevalent event
for everyone as time has progressed. Computers, tablets, and phones are used widely each day for
social media sites, as well as purchasing items of luxury and gifts for loved ones. The ability to
communicate from your computer to anyone else all over the world is exciting, but do we even

Your privacy is not that private anymore since the search engine has saved all your data for the

abundant. On a given day, we may look at the internet through social media sites, emails and browse

Internet Vs Internet
Education – Use of the Internet has become a part of life of every student and a mean to search for
the information as and when it is needed. These days, use of mobile phones for internet purposes has
become a routine and number of mobile consumer accessing the Internet is surpassing fixed line
internet users (M. Kumar, 2011). Learning is a process and it is part of our daily lives. Modern
technology has made it simple for students to learn from anywhere through online education and
mobile education. Also, students now use modern technology in classrooms to learn better. For
example, students use iPads to share visual lessons and examples with peers in the classroom. This
has made learning more convenient and fun. Also new modern ... Show more content on

Health industry – Nowadays most hospitals have implemented modern technology in surgical
rooms, this has reduced on mistakes made by doctors. Humans can easily make mistakes because of
work overload and stress factors. Also, the business community has developed health applications
which can enable us to monitor our health and weight. These applications can be used on mobile
phones, so users can have them at any time of the day
Negative Impacts
Education – the access of these devices to school going children`s has caused more harm than good.
For example, they spend much of their time on playing video games and other activities which are
not mentally and socially good for them. So, they are just wasting their time instead of focus on the
school work. Thus, the end result lead to the poor performance in their studies which put a negative
effect on their future.
Job Loss – Modern technology has replaced many humans; robots are doing the jobs which used to
be done by humans. Many packing firms have employed robots on production lines to increase
production and efficiency, this is good news for businesses because it helps them make more money
and serve customers in time, but it is bad news to employees because they get replaced by a robot.
Increased loneliness – Social Isolation is on the increase, people are spending more time playing
video games, learning how to use new modern technologies, using social networks and they

The Internet : The History Of The Internet
History of the Internet Chances are you know someone right now that was alive before the internet
was even in the works. In just thirty four years the internet has advanced further than anyone ever
expected it to. The internet is everywhere and being in things such as computers, phones, tablets,
televisions and many other pieces of technology, it has an endless amount of uses. Before the
internet, news would not travel as fast and less things were known about the world and the people in
it. During the early age of the computer, computers were expensive to produce and operate, and
were separated by distance and purpose, forcing a single person who wanted to access multiple
functions and information to physically travel to a site where multiple computers were located. The
internet which in its early stage was known as ARPANET was created by the US Department of
Defenses Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA). The concept of ARPANET was first thought
of in 1962 when a man by the name of J.C.R. Licklider who attended MIT wrote a series of memos
in August 1962 discussing his "Galactic Network" concept. He imagined a world wide system, all of
which was connected by computers where everyone could quickly access data and programs from
any site at any time. His idea very was much like the Internet of the world we live in now. Licklider
was the first head of the computer research program at ARPA, starting in October 1962. While at
ARPA he convinced his successors, Bob Taylor,

Advertising On The Internet : Internet
Giacomo Randazzo

Advertising on the Internet
Most of the websites collect money through advertisement; websites collect a bunch of information
about who visits the page that they use to target their advertisements to services and product that
reflect his interests. So targeted advertising is a good thing because it allows the web to run without
the necessity to pay for every visited page, but people should be informed and conscious of where
the information websites collect go; information a visitor indirectly give can be very personal and he
might not want them to be collected.
HOW DOES THE INTERNET WORK
The internet is more complex than one might think, it consists of a network of computers around the
world connected to each other, some of them, servers, host websites and maybe some logic and data
for them; others, clients, connect to those servers and ask for information. So the internet is a
constant communication between computers. When a webpage is requested by a client what the
server responds with is usually an HTML file with the basic information for the website, the client
reads it and makes more requests for other resources. For example it downloads images, styles,
some other functionalities that are specified in the HTML file, to the server or other servers that host
those resources. Like I said both the client and the server are computers: as to connect to a website a
laptop or a smartphone is needed, a computer usually more

The Impact Of Internet On The Internet
The amount of revenue the Internet brings in a single year is has drastically increased in the past
couple years and it will exponentially keep growing as the years go by. As people use the World
Wide Web more and more, they look for ways to profit off of it by having advertisements and other
types of promotion. Sites specifically made for people's inputs run solely on how many active users
are on the site. For example, YouTube and Facebook were made to have people post whatever one
wants to upload and it has grown so big because of the sheer amount of people on at a time. As
stated by Los Angeles Times, it has been reported that YouTube's revenue would expand to about
$5.9 billion which is a 50% growth from 2012 (Faughnder). This mass ... Show more content on

The creation of online shopping not only helped the consumers, but it also helped the sellers who
would like to start a business without needing all the effort and capital to start a full one. People
have access to popular sites where they can sell products and make profits by it. Sites like Amazon
and Ebay are used for easy access and used for companies, businesses, and regular consumers.
According to William Hague, "Nothing would be more fatal or self–defeating than the heavy hand
of state control on the internet, which only thrives because of the talent of individuals and of
industry within an open market for ideas and innovation" (qtd. in Hopkins). By censoring the
Internet, the government can eliminate the ability for the people to have an open market online, a
place where people buy and sell with convenience. Having an open market allows sites like Amazon
and Ebay to exist, an open source for anyone to sell products. The government must not censor or
regulate the Internet otherwise they are destroying a portion of the country's economy. Instead of
censoring, the governments should put extra protection when it comes to buying and selling in order
to protect the people from scammers and account theft. A simple solution should not be taken to an
extreme approach which would rather hurt the people by censoring the Internet. After all, as the
human race is advancing towards the future, the technology should

The Internet : The Dependency On The Internet
The Dependency on Internet
People were more active, people were more social in person and people were less stressed. This era
of using internet is increasing every day. Wherever people go there is a phone, or at least one way to
connect with internet. What happens if someone forgets their phone back home in the house? The
person will feel naked since its life is in that device. The society expects to find every answer on the
internet, some might even google personal questions, and this is not a normal behavior. So, is the
dependency on the internet and our devices too high, or have we just forgotten what it is like to
actually do things without relying on our devices?
The Internet is a good thing, people use it to find information, have an important meeting with
others across the globe, stay connected and socialize with people who are not in front of you. But in
today's society, humans use it to so much more than just to communicate. People are obsessed with
the internet and their smart devices almost like Gollum is with the ring from the Lord of the Rings.
This is not the correct way to communicate, in an interview with Dr. Larry Rosen, psychologist
Sherry Turkle said "we are only getting 'sips' of connection, not real communication" (Rosen)
The 44th president of the United States; Barack Obama once said during a speech at Durant High
School "The internet is not a luxury, it is a necessity". If we look at how modern–day society is built

Internet Vs Internet
In the three decades that the internet has been around, the world has hastily adapted to this massive
online resource. Everything from business, commerce, education, and numerous other aspects of our
lives, all have been affected by the rise of the world wide web. As John Naughton wrote in his essay,
"The internet: is it changing the way we think?", although society had recurring fears of successful
and helpful inventions, such as printing or photography, and now, the internet, it doesn't question
their validity (474). He explains that just because fears are recurring, they are not equated to
irrational. As with each new innovation, there are bound to be impacts in the world, whether or not
it's a positive consequence (474). Steven Pinker states in his "Mind Over Mass Media" essay,
"Search engines lower our intelligence, encouraging us to skim on the surface of knowledge rather
than dive to its depths. Twitter is shrinking our attention spans" (481). While his claim is inverse to
Naughton's, Pinker agrees that the internet has changed many aspects of our culture. Both authors
signal that the internet has indeed pushed out old traditions and brought new ones with it, and as a
result, our society has been affected as well. Either for great or worse, a change in the human
environment signals a change in the way people react and think. As such, it is understable why
being to exposed to the internet is slowly, but surely, influencing and altering the mind. Evolution is

The Internet : The Use Of The Internet
[title] USE OF THE INTERNET BY INDIVIDALS
As of August 2000, 116.5 million Americans were online––31.9 million more than only 20 months
earlier. Internet users accounted for 44.4% of the U.S. population (age 3 and older), up from 32.7%
in December 1998. This pattern of increasing Internet use held true at all income and education
levels, for all age groups, for both men and women, for the employed and the unemployed and
across all races and ethnic groups.
Groups that have historically been digital "have–nots"––individuals who come from low–income
households, individuals with low levels of education, minority groups (particularly Blacks and
Hispanics), and older people––are participating in this dramatic increase in Internet usage but their
use rates remain below the national average.
This report examines individual computer use. The person–based data and household–based data
yields related, but not identical, rates of Internet use for factors that are common to the two datasets,
such as income and race. Person–based data offer an understanding of ways in which individuals
use the internet. They offer the ability to examine demographic characteristics, such as age and
gender that are unique to individuals with no logical correspondence at the household level. This
data offers insight into where individuals use the Internet––at home, outside the home, or in multiple
places. And, where individuals are using the Internet from a location away from their home, this
data provides

Nowadays, the internet is accessed by all the age groups, especially young people. The increasing
number of young people who use the internet has indicate that the internet has already become an
essential part of teenagers' lives. However, the influence of the internet has both positive and
negative consequences, while the negative consequences may make young people become
antisocial. The term of antisocial can be explained as an individual who is often avoids socialising
with others. This essay will argue that the dangers of the internet among young people regarding to

Therefore, it is clearly that online communication strongly correlated to the cyberbullying, and this
indicate that the internet is creating a generation of anti–social youth. On the other hand, Tartari
(2015) pointed that the internet has positive side, for example, the social media platform enables
young people to communicate and sharing information and knowledge with others. Young people
can get benefits from the process of communication, such as, it develops their communication skills
and socialization process, and they can share their emotions with their friends during the process of
communication, it positively enhanced their relationship. In addition, Tartari (2015) interviewed
teenagers who regularly use social media between 11 and 16 years old in Albania, and Tartari found
that the use of social media positively increased teenagers' communication abilities and technical
skills. On the contrary, Goff (2011) indicated the dangers of cyberbullying via the internet in
Australian schools, and Goff gives an example to illustrate this point. A group of year 9 boys decide
to play a joke on one of the girls in their class, the boys communicate with the girl via the internet
and one of them speaks to the girl weekly over the phone, however, the boys finally decide to end
this joke and they tell a lie to the girl which is the boy has passed away. While the girl realised that it
was a joke, she is humiliated. Hence, it is

Internet Crimes And The Internet
Introduction
The purpose of this research is to discuss about cybercrimes also known as internet crimes. The
researcher has taken help from a number of online sources and a few books as well. Firstly, the
researcher will discuss about cybercrime, how and when it came in existence. The researcher then
will categorize cybercrimes into 2 parts, cyber abuse and cyber–attacks. This in turn has a few
subtopics to follow. And lastly, the researcher will discuss prevention from these kind of attacks.
Technology has been increasing so rapidly in the past fifteen years that it has increased the use of
computers in our daily lives and in the business sector. To keep pace with the rapid increase in
technology, industries such as banking, health, education etc. are very dependent on Internet for all
its activities.
However, what is Internet? Internet is the largest wide area network (WAN) that connects millions
of computers worldwide and it is easily accessible at any corner of the world.
Since the evolution of the Internet almost 20 years back, it has gradually changed and in turn
changed our lives as well and has left a great impact on our lives.
In the earlier times, Internet was only used to search for information but now it not only contains a
library of information but has also become a means of interacting and communicating with one
another and to be able to get new ideas. In simple words, it has become a necessity in our daily
lives. We are very much dependent on Internet for

The Cultural Impacts Of Internet Technology : The Internet...
Living through the era dominated by social media and internet sources has come with a variety of
different encounters that those born even twenty years earlier would not be able to understand.
When a question is asked that one might not know the answer to, they simply state "Just google it",
but in previous times many people would have to spend hours seeking the answer they so desire.
One of the biggest issues surrounding google is the deprivation of thinkers in the new generation.
Google, although a helpful tool, has taken the thought out of life and replaced it with answers at the
touch of a keyboard. The cultural impacts surrounding internet technology has perpetually grown to
the point of hindrance. Despite the profound expertise Danah Boyd and Marc Prensky present
through years of experience relating to social media, the most effective author in creating an
argument was Nicholas Carr due to the relatability of the article to his targeted audience. Danah
Boyd establishes her ethos through years of research on the topic of the internet and social media.
When researching her on the internet, it becomes known that she has earned a PhD from Cal
Berkeley and has devoted a decade of her lifetime toward her research in the field of social media.
This adds credentials to the evidence that she puts into her chapter, and builds her ethos as an
author. Despite her credibility, she states "Many of the technologies that youth encounter, from
Google to Wikipedia, require users to

The Internet : The Use Of The Internet
Looking at today's generation we see that Internet and device usage is highly addicting, and
personally for myself I've realized that while logging my daily usage over the past 5 days. Even
though I knew I use the Internet a lot I was still in shock to see how much I used it over the past five
days, and I came to realize that it would be very difficult for my self to live without the usage of
Internet or my devices. Especially when it came to school I realized that, this is where I have used it
the most but it was for necessary use most of the time. Throughout the five days I used two devices
mainly my iPhone and my laptop. Although during that time I've noticed that I use a substantial
amount of social media apps, and how every application requires the Internet.
Not only throughout these five days but within majority of my life using the Internet I've always
used it through my laptop and iPhone. My reasons to go online vary from schoolwork to leisure
activities . The most active time I was usually before class or after class trying to finish my work
and during the evening time when I would have time for myself. Since two of the five days fell on a
weekend I had more leisure time, so during this time it consisted a lot of binge watching shows and
gym time. I used both my laptop and my iPhone for this, using applications such as Netflix,
Soundcloud, Apple Music and all the social media apps.
Even though I use the same devices everyday, it does not necessarily mean I use

Internet And The Internet Essay
Introduction –
What role does the internet play in your daily life? Probably quite a significant one. In almost every
context, the internet now plays some role. In both a local and global context, it is evident that the
world's utilisation of the internet can create both positive and negative social change. We can use the
internet to find information that we would never have reached before and apply that information to
many areas of life.
In both the healthcare system and education system, the use of the internet to help carry out
everyday activities has increased significantly since its creation in 1983 . From blackboards to
Smartboards the education system's utilisation of the internet to help educate the future generations
has increased a staggering amount. The education sector has made the most of what internet
technology comes their way, sometimes despite the serious consequences that come from
introducing youth to the world wide web. The healthcare system now relies on the internet to rake
through mountains of medical information to help save patient's lives from some of the rarest
diseases. Doctors can increasingly focus on patient care rather than research.
Analysis –
The Healthcare system
The healthcare system has developed significantly in both research and patient care over the last two
decades. Where society once struggled to battle disease and infection today, by simply searching on

The Internet : The Dangers Of Internet Use On The Internet
Imagine that you're on the computer just like every other day. All of a sudden your computer starts
popping ads on your screen and it keeps popping and popping. You don't realize what has just
happened until you remember that you clicked on an ad which led to a weird website but you just
clicked off of it so you didn't think much about it.
Well, this can happen to anybody that is online the entire day because you obviously are on websites
and websites have ads and ads can be misleading and that could lead to pop up ads all the time
viruses and even hacking of your account. That's what could happen to most of the people who are
online all day because they are on websites and there are millions of ads that could pop up on your
computer and they could look interesting and you click on it it may be misleading and that could be
a bad sign. What I'm trying to say that people that have unlimited use on the internet will most likely
use irresponsibly and it could lead to problems like I said before. That's why I support to have the
limited amount of time online. One reason that you shouldn't spend a lot of time is that there are
online scammers, yes I know that's pretty sad. Well, what these people do is called clickbait and if
you click their ads because you were interested they might be able to get your phone number or
address and that's basically all they need to try and fool you. They fool people in many different
ways including by text, phone number, email and I'm sure

The Internet And The Internet
The Internet has changed our lives dramatically, it contributes many things to the human
development. Some things then may not be that accessible to us now, but with the rise of
technology, everything is almost possible by the advanced communication technology that
surrounding us. Printers, televisions, radios, telephones; all are now within our reach, especially
because global trading is available to all over the world. Furthermore, with the invention of the
internet, all sorts of information are accessible to the youth in just a click or a tap. Along with all
these, just imagine the tons of information being thrown in each and every one of us almost every
second, which would lead to a lot of problems.
Social media is one of many reasons for the society's problems and solutions. It also raises
awareness for an important cause, but it can also be used to spread hated, especially between
teenagers. Therefore, adults should be more aware of how their children use the Internet.

The Internet : The Dangers Of The Internet
I think most would agree the Internet has been one of the most beneficial technological innovations
in the last 50 years. It started out small, but as with most advancing technologies, scientists,
programmers, engineers, and users have kept it expanding, evolving and ever–changing into the
modern information superhighway it is today. What started out as being a few computers networked
together to store and share data for educational purposes has developed into a global system
networking millions of computers and user together to share a cornucopia of information and
services which touches almost every aspect of our daily lives. While it is nice to have such
conveniences at our fingertips, it also comes with its drawbacks. As discussed in the chapter, the
Internet can be a dangerous place, and it is essential to take preventative measures to ensure your
safety. With the increased use of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn,
Snapchat, Twitter, and even email, cyberbullying has become rampant; however there are several
ways to help protect yourself. One of the most effective ways is to limit your use of online services.
Since this isn't a feasible safeguard for most individuals, there are other preventative measures to
consider such as safeguarding your password, setting privacy controls to restrict access to your
online profile to trusted friends or family, never posting anything that may compromise your
reputation, especially photos as they may be used to fuel and encourage bullying, never open or
respond to unsolicited messages from someone you don't know, and utilizing the block, ban, and
report features if you are being attacked. Blocking is useful to stop incoming messages from people
who one sets to block or ban. Reporting is useful because it can suspend and ban a user's email
account from using that service and in some cases it can even block their IP address from using the
service. If the attacks continue or get physical in nature, delete your email or social media account
completely and contact the police. Another danger associated with the Internet and one which has
personally affected my family and me is identity theft and personal accounts and information being
compromised

The Importance Of Internet Censorship On The Internet
The Internet was first used in the 90s and became exponentially important to our life which has
uncountable benefits by connecting the world, increasing worldwide security, providing an easy
access to the knowledge. While the exploration of the technology can use for several wonderful
purposes, it is also a double–edged sword. Today, by searching word on google, a 6–year–old kid
can easily access a legal pornography website without any troubles. This caused the controversial
argument that whether or not the Internet should be censored for violent and sexual content? Even
though the violent and sexual content on the Internet can bring some benefits for the adults, it
should have a limit access to protect minors from the disadvantages of human sexual corruption,
sexual harassment, and especially child pornography. If this idea was used all around the world, it
will open a fresh future for children and a big improvement for the society.
The definition of Internet Censorship expresses as "the act of banning or blocking some or all of
content that can be published, viewed and accessed online include governments, private sectors and
individuals with a common goal to control what people can read and post on the World Wide Web" (
G, 2015). This is a right decision for the case of our world, where children are the victims of the
sexual corruption. Some people argue that this act is a violation of their freedom which against the
human rights. In fact, this is not completely true: an

Internet Safety And The Internet
Internet safety has been an extensive issue for children and adolescents since accuse to the Internet
has become readily available in homes. With Internet use increasing at such rapid rates and a large
proportion of adolescents using the Internet daily, the awareness of Internet safety should be
addressed. The term Internet safety can be defined as "the knowledge of maximizing an individuals
safety to private information, and self protection from using the Internet". The impact and influence
that the Internet has on adolescent life is far–reaching and research findings by Norris (2007)
indicate that one–quarter of the American youth that go online at home, do so in the privacy of their
rooms. Additionally, with the recent trend of wireless connections there has been a profound
expansion in private Internet usage. The diverse means by which adolescents are using the Internet
has become coupled with inherent risks of unsupervised and uneducated use.
The Internet plays a key role in the development of education. According to past research findings,
72% of adolescents surveyed reported using the Internet for school objectives and nearly all of them
go online daily (Norris, 2007). Additionally, many interviewed teenagers and parents reported that
Internet use is vital to complete school projects. Adolescents need to be educated on how to
maximize the legitimacy and safety of online information. Adolescents awareness of the potential

The Internet And The Internet
The Internet, additionally known as the World Wide Web, is a fairly new concept to the world, and
to many people who have only been familiar with information originating from a bound
encyclopedia. In America, internet access is widespread and accessible to a large majority of people.
So long as you have a capable device and stable connection, all the information you can (or can't)
think of is at your fingertips – quite literally! Mobile devices are becoming a highly common
commodity, particularly in light of the massive increase in the use of technology in public settings,
such as schools and businesses. A recent development in the regulation of the internet has made
waves in the community of an internet–accustomed generation of people: the Republican–led
Federal Communications Commission's 3–to–2 vote to repeal net neutrality laws.
Enacted by Former President Barack Obama in 2014, net neutrality refers to "the principle that
Internet service providers must treat all data on the Internet the same, and not discriminate or charge
differently by user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or method of
communication," according to Wikipedia. Essentially these laws are used to prevent content from
being discriminated against, especially if that content is not as popular as other content. Many are
outraged at the repeal of these laws, calling the act "a war on the lower class" or "a modern day
form of censorship." This plan to repeal these laws did not garner much attention, specifically
because of the general public was mostly unaware that the laws even existed in the first place.
Unfortunately, this lack of awareness cause there to be little backlash at the first mention of repeal.
Gradually through major social media platforms, such as Twitter, Snapchat, and Facebook, attention
was drawn to this incredibly important set of laws. People began changing their profile names and
"bios" to hashtags in support of the laws.
Headed by Republican Ajit Pai, the Federal Communications Committee, or FCC, consists of 5
members: 3 Republicans and 2 Democrats. On Thursday, December 14th, these 5 voted whether or
not to repeal the net neutrality laws. Each party voted as expected, ending in a 3 to 2

Internet And The Internet Essay

  • 1. Internet And The Internet Essay Since the late 1960s and early 1970s, computer scientists have improved the accessibility of the internet to all people. Technology has continuously improved through the introduction of computer programming and coding and the use of cellular devices. Today, anyone can have access to internet through the various forms of technology such as cell phones, computers, laptops, tablets, smart watches, etc. Over the past 15 years, the internet has begun to incorporate itself into education by allowing students to perform research more efficiently and have more interactive learning through the use of educational websites, Smart Boards, etc. Accordingly, not only has the internet greatly impacted education making it more interesting, but it has also impacted domestic lives. Parents now have an easier way for their children to learn online at earlier ages through educational websites and online learning programs, such as Starfall and ABCMouse. Children, from ages as young as three years old to teenagers, have learned to operate the internet. Although children have developed this knowledge, consequently, many have failed to learn the repercussions of their actions when inappropriately using the internet. One of the most common repercussions one can often face is bullying through the internet, entitled as cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is defined as verbally harming an individual or group by anonymously or non–anonymously posting harmful information through the internet. The percentage ... • 3. The Internet : The Psychological Effects Of The Internet Throughout America's history there has been a sharp increase in technological devices. Some of the current technological devices that most people use are cellphones, tablets, iPods, and some form of a computer. All of these different devices have one thing in common. That one thing in common is the internet. The internet has an extreme role in today's society where it can be used to play games, socialize, and communicate with friends and family. Since, the internet is used by a lot of young people; there has been a debate on whether the internet has psychological benefits to it. Psychological effects is defined as pertaining or affecting a person's mind in which it affects their function of awareness, feelings, or motivation. These effects can either be beneficial or non– beneficial. In this essay I will be stating why the internet does not have psychological effects that are beneficial to people. There are no psychological benefits pertaining to the internet due to psychological effects such as self–concept which can have health effects that pertains to one's awareness, feelings, or motivation. The usage of the internet pertains to two psychological outcomes. In the article Children and internet Use: Social, Psychological and Academic consequences for Low–income Children by Linda Jackson, Alexander Eye, and Frank Biocca states, "The two psychological outcomes are general affect and feelings of self–worth" (Jackson, 2003). Some general affects that the internet can have on an individual would be health issues and academic problems. Many young people spend too much time on the internet then doing their homework. Linda Jackson states, "Children's usage of the internet estimates from as high as several hours a day to as low as 3 hours a week" (Jackson, 2003). The amount of time that is spent on the internet can determine how much the internet affects your children or yourself. Some health issues that could be a problem through the usage of the internet would be depression and heart disease. One of the consequences of the usage of the internet that can be psychologically harmful to a person is cyber–bullying. Cyber–bullying is happening more frequently in the article of Psychological, Physical, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Internet : The Dangers Of The Internet The Dangers of the Internet The internet and social media have come a long way in the past decade. "This is an exciting time to be a young person interested in media" (Jennifer Shewmaker, PhD) Technology has evolved into something that we as humans use every single day. Nowadays children are growing with electronic devices and internet surrounding them. With technology on their hands all day they get exposed too inappropriate content, devolving mental problems and, in some cases being victims of cyberbullying. And yes, there's no doubt the internet is a useful tool that we use every day for homework and other uses. "But instant messaging, chat room, emails and social networking can also bring trouble – from cyberbullying to more serious internet dangers, including exposure to sexual predators (Katherine Kam, par.3) Too children, who's brains aren't well developed they fall to being victims of the to what the internet can cause too their young lives. Many adolescents don't see the dangers of the internet, but us as adults should prevent introducing the internet too them as such a young age before it's too late. Lots of inappropriate content is on the internet and social media not meant for children. But with the internet being introduced too them and being all around them, they find things that we as parents don't want them to see. Many of children click on pages without knowing what it actually is, "Finding inappropriate content can be as easy as clicking on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Internet : The Existence Of The Internet How did our internet become of existence? How did we get so tied up with making the majority of our purchases online through our internet over our brick and mortar retail store? Our retail purchases have elevated throughout the past few years. This has been an immense change transitioning from brick and mortar stores to have the online retail stores. Online shopping could not thrive without the existence or our internet. Our internet has become a part of the norm our daily lives. In 1962, J.C.R. Licklider, an MIT Computer Scientist, came up with one of the greatest ideas we have all learned to utilize daily. The idea was creating a global computer network. He worked closely with the U.S. Department of Defense's Advance Research Project Agency, known as ARPA. In the early 1960s, Licklider shared his idea with several of his colleagues, one of them being Lawrence G. Roberts. Roberts, an American Scientist, was also the program manager and office director of ARPA. In around 1969, Roberts publishes a plan called ARPANET, a computer network. This computer network is funded by ARPA. From this point on, ARPANET has become a digital post office which has only grown and continues to grow. In the early 1970s, Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf created a protocol technology called Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. This protocol, also known as TCP/IP, allows for multiple networks to be linked together without having to interrupt the other networks. In 1973, an electrical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Impact Of Internet On The Internet The internet since its creation was a promising tool. How that tool was to be used was unexpected. Today the internet has been used in knowledge and entertainment that exceeds a human being's life span. The question lives with how affects the internet people sociologically, how are new generations using the internet compared to the generations were in its infancy? What are the pro and cons of the sociological effects of this vast tool? The internet is now also used to interact with people around the world. A single person can interact with the world through blogs ,a web article, social networking, cell phone, through texting, even through videos.(GCFLearnFree Internet 101: How Is the Internet Used?) Just with one click of a button, or even a finger tap/swipe, a person's blog, picture, comment is post public on the web where potentially, thousands, even millions could see what a single person posted. A blog extends a person's opinion, and knowledge of whatever they wish to talk about. The whole world could see what the person posted. For example, a person could blog about how they feel about the 2016 Presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders, and share his approvals, or disapprovals and why in a blog. Once shared, other people could comment on what the person said about Bernie Sanders about whether they agree, disagree, or in between with the person's opinion on Bernie Sanders. This creates an interaction between two people who are typically finished strangers that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Internet : The Importance Of The Internet Growing up and being raised during the time when the internet was becoming popular and easily useable has given me a huge respect and admiration for those who created it, maintain the knowledge within and continue to make it as widely available to as many people as possible. That is the right thing to do given all that can be accomplished with an Internet connection. It is invaluable in today's world to say the least. The access to unlimited knowledge and learning capabilities, the ability to instantly communicate and share anything you can imagine, and endless entertainment possibilities just scratch the surface of what is possible with access to the World Wide Web. The Internet is a wealth of knowledge and information, almost overwhelmingly so. With a few simple clicks and searches through an impressive and varying array of powerful search engines it's very easy to learn exactly what you intended to. Did you just watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail and really need to know what the air–speed velocity of an unladen swallow is? Or maybe you and a friend are at odds about the top speed of a Mag–Lev train. Finding the answers to those questions is simply a matter of performing a simple search. Perhaps you have more serious intentions like learning a new language, which has become substantially easier with the internet as well. Plenty of websites, programs and Youtube channels are devoted to teaching regular people a new language at whatever skill level they need, whether you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Internet And The Internet Does the internet seclude us to our own little world, or does the internet open up the world to us? The internet being somewhat new allows us to have access to an abundance of information through out the world. Having this access allows us to educate and be more aware of what is going on around us, not isolate us to one group according to our beliefs or make us narrow minded. Being able to talk with people across the world at our finger tips has given us one touch access to meet many new people and interact in ways never possible before the internet. The internet provides a wealth of information and gives us the opportunity to connect with others in the world. The internet does link us to our friends, but I do not agree that the internet isolates us to our friends and groups whom only have the same beliefs or interests (Seife 294). For instance, I posted on Facebook my political stance on kneeling during the national anthem. That one post turned into 50 posts from my group of friends to their friends, and their friends all conversing about the stand or kneel issue. Some people chatting on this discussion was friends of friends and who are from California, Florida and Wisconsin. When all was said and done, I made new friends on Facebook which I would have never been able to meet if is was not for the internets ability to link us all together. As I stated above I did not know a lot of those commenting on my post since they are friends of friends who live out of state. We all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Report On Internet Of Internet REPORT ON INTERNET OF THINGS– WEB OF THINGS –architecture and security issues University of Colorado Colorado Springs CS6930 Report by Uma maheswari chinta and Deepak metlapalli 1. Abstract: In the vision of the Internet of Things (IoT), an expanding number of installed gadgets of various kinds (e.g., sensors, cellular telephones, cameras, smart meters, brilliant autos, traffic lights, savvy home appliances, and so forth.) are currently fit for imparting and sharing information over the Internet. Despite the fact that the idea of utilizing inserted frameworks to control gadgets, instruments and apparatuses has been proposed for practically decades now, with each new era, the continually expanding abilities of calculation and correspondence posture new open doors, additionally new difficulties. As IoT turns into a dynamic examination zone, distinctive strategies from different perspectives have been investigated to advance the improvement and notoriety of IoT. One pattern is seeing IoT as Web of Things (WoT) where the open Web norms are bolstered for data sharing and gadget interoperation. By penetrating savvy things into existing Web, the customary web administrations are advanced with physical world administrations. This WoT vision empowers another method for narrowing the boundary in the middle of virtual and physical universes. • 10. The Internet And The Internet The internet has made up many aspects of our lives. Sometimes these aspects aren't good, and sometimes they aren't bad. Everytime you turn on your computer what's the first thing that you open up? The majority of the time the internet browser is the very first thing you open up. Whether it's to listen to music, watch a movie, or to online shop. Internet is an everyday part of our lives, for college students it is essential to look at our grades. For teachers it is how they post our grades and the majority of our homework assignments. If someone asked you with all the syfy movies you watch how many of them are robot based movies. Your response would most likely be a lot of them. In the world today it's a real fear that not just Americans but humans have that technology will take over the world. With every technological advance we take there is always a group of people looking for ways to get through back doors. Back doors lead to the dark web which is where people deal illegal drugs, sell body parts and people. This is a prime example of that people repeat themselves time and time again through the generations. In more recent years we have seen that in the automobile industry the jobs became more automated the workers went on strike. They didn't show up to work and refused to do so for days. This shows that even though we have been through a situation once we don't learn from our mistakes. We read many articles the common factor through all of these articles is the ... • 11. The Internet : The Dangers Of The Internet The Dangers of the Internet There were 3,685,824,813 internet users in the world as of June 30, 2016. When we use the internet to look up the weather, sports, or the daily news do we ever thing about the possible dangers? The biggest increase has been among young adults, with time spent online almost tripling from 10 hours and 24 minutes each week in 2005 to 27 hours and 36 minutes in 2014. In total, the average adult spends more than 20 hours online a week, which includes time spent on the internet at work. Well there are many dangers that come with using the internet some we already know as in hackers, but we can't know all of them. Internet can be an extremely useful tool for young people. But instant messaging, chat rooms, emails and social networking sites can also bring trouble. One in 20 children admitted arranging a secret meeting with someone they met online. One of the most common dangers many know is Cyberbullying which is the use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature. Almost three in 10 parents (29%) let their kids use the internet without any restrictions or supervision Today I am going to talk about three dangers of the internet they are sexual predators, damaged reputations, and pornography. For one thing, there are sexual predators are the internet every day. About 1 in 7 kids have been sexually solicited online says, John Shehan, CyberTipline program manager for the National ... • 12. Internet And The Internet Caught in an Online Web: The Mistakes That Could Haunt You In a world where information can be easily accessed with a quick web search and where online networking plays a huge role in present– day communication, many educators and employers are urging students and potential hires to think twice before posting. The reason for this is that the mistreatment of internet sources has consequences. Issac Gilman– an assistant professor and Communications and Research Librarian at Pacific University – evaluated how the misuse of online sources could harm a student's professional and academic life. In Gilman's article Online Lives, Offline Consequences: Professionalism, Information Ethics, and Professional Students, it is clear that a plague of plagiarism persists in the modern world and that the effects of certain social media posts are often neglected. While teachers and other adults should prepare students for the potential risks of engaging in academic dishonesty and social media misuse, students must take it upon themselves to be aware of how their online actions can affect their lives and take precautions as needed. In Isaac Gilman's article, one of the topics he discussed was the importance of academic integrity. While the internet provides a useful tool for learning new things, it can also be used to steal ideas and work. Plagiarism has been around for a long time, but the access to online information makes it effortless. Paper mills which gain a profit from selling ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. The Internet And The Internet Welcome to the 21st century where the world is more connected than ever. All thanks to the internet, people can communicate with anyone through social media platforms anywhere in the world with internet access. This new process of communication revolutionizes the way we see our fellow person in reality and online. The internet has created a world that is fast, efficient and concise where soon the digital world will take the role of reality. The essence of human interaction has suddenly become a connection made between screens rather than between people. With that said, I believe that social media is destroying the nature of intimacy. To resolve this issue, I'll push through a petition where my initiative says that you must be the age of 13 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the responses are based on the individual's experience that the person had and at the end of the day that's what makes everyone different, our different experiences we endure through life. Now, as we go through our lives we meet people. Whether it's at school, on the basketball court or at a party, we meet at all types of people. During these encounters, these people may become your colleague, a friend or a potential partner. Regardless of who they are, the value of the experience lies in how you meet them and how you felt being with them. Maybe you remember the first time you met your best friend or the time you first met your girlfriend/boyfriend, it's a feeling that is unique and sacred towards you. The value of human interaction is simply more than a routine, it is an intimate and integral part of human interaction. These moments where we connect with one another is what defines you, we are all products of our environment and we all need each other to see who we really are. Unfortunately, this may be threatened by the use of the internet where suddenly are experiences become digital memories as live them. • 14. The Impact Of Internet On The Internet We can't deny that our lives revolved around the Internet. The Internet has become another tool for us to have access to anything that we want with just a click of a button. This generation has become very dependent on the Internet whether it's through communication or searching something online. We are starting to lose customs that we once had in the old days where we would communicate in person and we would not rely on the Internet for much. Our society has embellished the online world through our everyday life and we are constantly going online, whether it's to make reservations for dinner, paying bills, requesting a uber, and a simple ordering essentials. Throughout our history people have always seemed to be worried about new technology. Technology is constantly improving and creating new ideas, therefore there fear people have because Affected and overwhelmed by so much technology. It's the 21st–century and people are already amazed with the technology we have and can't even keep up with it. There's enough evidence that shows that the Internet is starting to affect the way we think. The Internet has become the source for us to find the information it's slowly affecting our brains. • 15. The Internet And The Future Of The Internet The Internet has revolutionized how people interact with each other on a daily basis. Before the Internet permeated our lives, staying connected to friends and family was difficult and costly. However, today, staying connected is easy and accessible (O'Dell, 2011). The way we communicate changed when the first e–mail was sent in 1971 (O'Dell, 2011; Borges, 2012; Kaplan &Haenlein, 2010). When the Internet was launched in 1978, the Bulletin Board System (BBS) was invented to allow users to exchange messages, data, news, and software (Bennett, 2012; Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010). In 1979, two individuals created Usenet, a worldwide discussion system that allowed users to post public messages (O'Dell, 2011; Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010). The 1980s witnessed the introduction of online service providers such as Compuserve, Prodigy, and America Online (AOL) (Curtis, 2011). By 1989, British engineer Tim Berners–Lee had begun to work at CERN on what was to become the World Wide Web (Borges, 2012; Curtis, 2011). In the 1990s, the Mosaic web browser was launched, GeoCities, one of the Web's first social networking sites, was founded, and personal home pages began to emerge (O'Dell, 2011; Bennett, 2012; Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010). The year 1995 marked the era of corporate web pages and e– commerce (Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010). Thus, it is no surprise that the current trend toward social media can be traced back to the Internet's roots, since social media has transformed the World Wide Web from web sites that provided static information to web sites that allow information exchange between users (Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010). The social media era dates back to 1998, when Bruce and Susan Abelson founded Open Diary, an early social networking site that brought online diary writers together in a single community (Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010). The technical advances and the growing availability of high–speed Internet access over the past 30 years have enabled a form of virtual content sharing, leading to the creation of social networking sites such as MySpace in 2003 and Facebook in 2004 that are fundamentally different and more powerful than the Bulletin Board System (BBS) of the late 1970s (Borges, 2012; Curtis, 2011; Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010). ... • 16. The Internet And The Internet Introduction – Today, what role does the internet play in your daily life? Probably quite a significant one. In almost every culture we see, the internet plays some kind of role and it is only the severity of the reliance we put on it every day that changes. In both a local and global context it is evident that the worlds reliance and infatuation with the internet can inspire both positive and negative social change. • 17. The Internet : The Beginning Of The Internet The beginnings of the Internet The Internet is and always will be the most revolutionary thing of our time. The internet is literally is, going, and will be the most important thing in our entire existence. It alone has made communication much easier and faster world wide. With it's invention, it made telegraphs, telephones, radios seem out of date. But in the Internets early developments it was kept a secret. The internet would not be possible without computers which developed in the 1950s. With the question of, "How can we make communication happen faster around the world?" Originally the goal was to be able to enable networking using a bunch of memos to become the starting point of Social Media. The first project leader of this entire experiment was J.C.R. Licklider at MIT. He even wrote a discussion in 1962 talking about his "Galactic Network" concept. He was the one who came up with the idea to connect through computers using networks so people could access data as quickly as they can. He explained to his successors how important this concept was. And soon enough it became the start of the most important project ever to be done. The United States Department of Defense awarded contracts to computer science labs in the United States, United Kingdom, and in France to come up with making this question happen and also with the development of the ARPANET project. ARPANET is the first network to conclude the protocol suite. In 1969 Professor Leonard Kleinrock a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. Internet Vs Internet The Internet has had a tremendous impact on organizations. For some organizations, that influence has not been positive. For example, surveys suggest that as a growing number of people make their own travel plans online, travel agents are seeing fewer customers. Use the Web to research organizations that have been affected negatively by the Internet. What effect has the Internet had? How can the organizations compete with the Internet? Do you feel that computers might replace humans entirely in the workforce? Why or Why not? Write a brief report. The web has played more than a significant role in this era. Today, many people prefer to buy things online because it provides an effortless way for them to purchase their favorite products without having to go to the store and go through things like a bad service or deal with an angry employee. Many of these online stores provide great products that are creative, inexpensive and affordable, making the customers feel unique and special every time they purchase an item. However, this simplicity that these online stores provide affects negatively small businesses and organizations. Because of their reduced cost of products, online retailers can offer customers a wider range of products at prices that are competitive with the traditional stores. This can lead to "showrooming, in which customers browse the products they want in the traditional stores, but purchase it online for a cheaper price, affecting mostly small stores or organizations(Storm). Furthermore, business communication might be faster and easier over the internet, but the lack of face–to–face communication sometimes leads to the perception of a company as uncaring and impersonal. Similarly, employees who only communicate with managers and co–workers through email may feel discouraged and become less productive in the investment of the company's success(Storm). Another negative impact that internet has on organizations and small businesses is the leaking of sensitive information. When business or organizations are conducted over the Internet, technical malfunctions or malicious hackers can expose sensitive data, such as addresses, passwords, credit card details or bank account details. According to NSPCC, "One in five, 8 to 11–year old's and seven in ten, 12 to 15–year old's have a social media profile" ("Ofcom" 72). The internet can be very helpful and educational in today's world if used properly parents just need to be sure that children are using it properly. Parents are worried about the predators and lack of physical activity that social media and the internet has caused on future generations. Haven't parents really caused this problem on their own? As parents it's time to unite to solve the problem, all that's required is to become educated, and to educate our children. Children misusing the internet can lure predators, have children suffering from cyber bullying, and can cause children to have attitude and behavioral problems. An internet predator is a person who seeks out children from all ages, talks to them sexually, and sometimes even tries to meet up with the children. According to an article about online predators, "They look for children that are emotionally vulnerable which can be related to personal issues derived from problems at school or home. They use these issues to befriend the victim and empathize with them while building a pseudo friendship and trust" ("Online Predators" 1). They will often lie about their real age to feel closer to the child. It's a problem because so many children and teenagers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Major programs like the ones I've stated may not have been possible without hackers. Hackers are people who gain access to unauthorized information using a computer. I know, it sounds bad that people are gaining unauthorized information by computer, but they actually make the internet a safer place. With the growth of the internet comes the growth of hackers and internet privacy. New laws that would increase internet privacy and, limit hackers would halt the internets growth and development. Since the year 2000, the internet has grown enormously we can all agree and with this growth comes a growth of internet users. With all the internet users, online comes people trying to accuse their information by illegal means. People are uncomfortable with the fact that people are gaining access to their information and tracking their web usage. When conducting an interview with Ms. Rebecca LaFave the Reference Librarian I asked her the question " Do you believe it ok if the hackers/businesses track your movement across the web"? and she replied with "No. I find it extremely intrusive, at best. At worse it's an invasion of the 14th Amendment" (Lafave). People feel as if hackers are taking advantage of them by using their information but some hackers may be helping online users. In just thirty four years the internet has advanced further than anyone ever expected it to. The internet is everywhere and being in things such as computers, phones, tablets, televisions and many other pieces of technology, it has an endless amount of uses. Before the internet, news would not travel as fast and less things were known about the world and the people in it. During the early age of the computer, computers were expensive to produce and operate, and were separated by distance and purpose, forcing a single person who wanted to access multiple functions and information to physically travel to a site where multiple computers were located. The internet which in its early stage was known as ARPANET was created by the US Department of Defenses Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA). The concept of ARPANET was first thought of in 1962 when a man by the name of J.C.R. Licklider who attended MIT wrote a series of memos in August 1962 discussing his "Galactic Network" concept. He imagined a world wide system, all of which was connected by computers where everyone could quickly access data and programs from any site at any time. Advertising On The Internet : Internet Giacomo Randazzo Ms. Blair English III 26 March 2015 Advertising on the Internet Most of the websites collect money through advertisement; websites collect a bunch of information about who visits the page that they use to target their advertisements to services and product that reflect his interests. So targeted advertising is a good thing because it allows the web to run without the necessity to pay for every visited page, but people should be informed and conscious of where the information websites collect go; information a visitor indirectly give can be very personal and he might not want them to be collected. HOW DOES THE INTERNET WORK The internet is more complex than one might think, it consists of a network of computers around the world connected to each other, some of them, servers, host websites and maybe some logic and data for them; others, clients, connect to those servers and ask for information. So the internet is a constant communication between computers. When a webpage is requested by a client what the server responds with is usually an HTML file with the basic information for the website, the client reads it and makes more requests for other resources. For example it downloads images, styles, some other functionalities that are specified in the HTML file, to the server or other servers that host those resources. By censoring the Internet, the government can eliminate the ability for the people to have an open market online, a place where people buy and sell with convenience. This era of using internet is increasing every day. Wherever people go there is a phone, or at least one way to connect with internet. What happens if someone forgets their phone back home in the house? The person will feel naked since its life is in that device. The society expects to find every answer on the internet, some might even google personal questions, and this is not a normal behavior. So, is the dependency on the internet and our devices too high, or have we just forgotten what it is like to actually do things without relying on our devices? The Internet is a good thing, people use it to find information, have an important meeting with others across the globe, stay connected and socialize with people who are not in front of you. Everything from business, commerce, education, and numerous other aspects of our lives, all have been affected by the rise of the world wide web. As John Naughton wrote in his essay, "The internet: is it changing the way we think?", although society had recurring fears of successful and helpful inventions, such as printing or photography, and now, the internet, it doesn't question their validity (474). He explains that just because fears are recurring, they are not equated to irrational. As with each new innovation, there are bound to be impacts in the world, whether or not it's a positive consequence (474). Steven Pinker states in his "Mind Over Mass Media" essay, "Search engines lower our intelligence, encouraging us to skim on the surface of knowledge rather than dive to its depths. Twitter is shrinking our attention spans" (481). While his claim is inverse to Naughton's, Pinker agrees that the internet has changed many aspects of our culture. Both authors signal that the internet has indeed pushed out old traditions and brought new ones with it, and as a result, our society has been affected as well. Either for great or worse, a change in the human environment signals a change in the way people react and think. As such, it is understable why being to exposed to the internet is slowly, but surely, influencing and altering the mind. Evolution is an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Internet users accounted for 44.4% of the U.S. population (age 3 and older), up from 32.7% in December 1998. This pattern of increasing Internet use held true at all income and education levels, for all age groups, for both men and women, for the employed and the unemployed and across all races and ethnic groups. Groups that have historically been digital "have–nots"––individuals who come from low–income households, individuals with low levels of education, minority groups (particularly Blacks and Hispanics), and older people––are participating in this dramatic increase in Internet usage but their use rates remain below the national average. This report examines individual computer use. The person–based data and household–based data yields related, but not identical, rates of Internet use for factors that are common to the two datasets, such as income and race. Person–based data offer an understanding of ways in which individuals use the internet. They offer the ability to examine demographic characteristics, such as age and gender that are unique to individuals with no logical correspondence at the household level. It started out small, but as with most advancing technologies, scientists, programmers, engineers, and users have kept it expanding, evolving and ever–changing into the modern information superhighway it is today. What started out as being a few computers networked together to store and share data for educational purposes has developed into a global system networking millions of computers and user together to share a cornucopia of information and services which touches almost every aspect of our daily lives. While it is nice to have such conveniences at our fingertips, it also comes with its drawbacks. As discussed in the chapter, the Internet can be a dangerous place, and it is essential to take preventative measures to ensure your safety. With the increased use of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Twitter, and even email, cyberbullying has become rampant; however there are several ways to help protect yourself. One of the most effective ways is to limit your use of online services. Since this isn't a feasible safeguard for most individuals, there are other preventative measures to consider such as safeguarding your password, setting privacy controls to restrict access to your online profile to trusted friends or family, never posting anything that may compromise your reputation, especially photos as they may be used to fuel and encourage bullying, never open or respond to unsolicited messages from someone you don't know, and utilizing the block, ban, and report features if you are being attacked. Blocking is useful to stop incoming messages from people who one sets to block or ban. Reporting is useful because it can suspend and ban a user's email account from using that service and in some cases it can even block their IP address from using the service. While the exploration of the technology can use for several wonderful purposes, it is also a double–edged sword. Today, by searching word on google, a 6–year–old kid can easily access a legal pornography website without any troubles. This caused the controversial argument that whether or not the Internet should be censored for violent and sexual content? Even though the violent and sexual content on the Internet can bring some benefits for the adults, it should have a limit access to protect minors from the disadvantages of human sexual corruption, sexual harassment, and especially child pornography. If this idea was used all around the world, it will open a fresh future for children and a big improvement for the society. The definition of Internet Censorship expresses as "the act of banning or blocking some or all of content that can be published, viewed and accessed online include governments, private sectors and individuals with a common goal to control what people can read and post on the World Wide Web" ( G, 2015). The Internet And The Internet The Internet, additionally known as the World Wide Web, is a fairly new concept to the world, and to many people who have only been familiar with information originating from a bound encyclopedia.
