2. An alternate to high stakes testing! Performance based assessments: A teacher-learner process that allows the student to use her own skills to learn new skills. Example: KCCT removed the Arts & Humanities portion from standardized test - replace with a performance assessment. A child will learn and play a piece of music based on already constructed knowledge/ability.
