Planning SHORT TERM : Regular Collaboration with Core and Teams to understand their agenda – annual as well as short term Discuss various alternative financial ways of achieving the agenda Annual budgets broken into monthly forecasts on a rolling basis Budget Vs Actuals Contingency buffer Plan timely disbursement of funds to teams LONG TERM : A 5 year finance roadmap in line with GSB’s long term financials goals. This footprint will be handed over to the future classes to take forward. This will ensure continuity, consolidated sense of direction and allow future treasurers to capitalize on the strengths of the work already done
3. Efficient Cost Management Work closely with teams to understand their needs Revisit the existing credit terms Re-negotiate with existing vendors Bulk deals New channels for supplies Implement new processes for monitoring and controlling expenses
4. Fair & Optimum Allocation Transparency- the key word Board meeting format to present options, debate and decide allocation of funds Fair and unbiased allocation keeping in mind the requirements and policies of GSB Documentation of decision making open to all for review
5. Management Reports & Performance Metrics Improved and simpler monthly reports Monthly reports to be published within 10 days A new quarterly performance matrix through benchmark comparison with previous years
6. Governance & Compliance Implement a GSB expense policy to serve as a blue-print for all treasury operations. Increase the finance accountability of Core teams and Clubs. Develop our own version of the RTI ( Right to Information) act. Get financial reports and control processes audited by ISB authorities and students. Maintain integrity in the allocation and use of GSB funds.
