The TNAU paddy expert system mobile app was developed by the e-Extension Centre of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in collaboration with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing. The app covers various topics related to paddy cultivation including nursery management, cultivation practices, nutrient management, crop protection, farm implements, post-harvest technology, marketing, and relevant schemes and institutes. It provides farmers with decision support and helps identify paddy issues or problems by matching symptoms with images in the app. The app is available on the Google Play Store and the TNAU agritech portal.

ple food for over 2.7 billion people. It is grown in almost all the states. West Bengal,
Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Tamil Nadu,
Kerala, Punjab, Maharashtra and Karnataka are major Paddy growing states
TNAU's paddy expert system is a mobile app that covers Nursery Management for Pad-
dy, Cultivation Practices for Paddy, Nutrient Management for Paddy, Crop Protection
for Paddy, Farm Implements for Paddy, Post Harvest Technology for Paddy, Marketing
for Paddy, Schemes and Institutes for Paddy
Objective :
The proposed project aims development of expert system for crop and animal enter-
prises facilitating instant decision making process of the farmers through ICT enabled
mechanism.
The expert system will also be synchronized with the existing KVK e-linking system for
its implementation. The specific objective of the project is to develop expert system for
crop and animal enterprises for instsnt decision making.

The app is available in the Google play store and as a web tool its is also availa-
ble on the TNAU agritech portal. The expert system covers the three broad major
aspects of paddy cultivation, crop production, protection, and post harvest
The decision support system will provide the user with the available options
and alternatives on his specific area of interest, crop doctor is the tool that pro-
vides the images o the symptoms there by helping the user to identify the prob-
lems and thereby diagnosing and rectifying it .
