A teacher is the hero for its students and can
influence them in a number of ways. The career
which makes other professions has to be among the
best occupation in the world. Indian mythology
revers teachers and mentors and gives them
supreme place in the society. World’s best education
system honour teachers and acknowledge their
worth and believe that without its contribution the
system shall lack its momentum. It requires great
confidence and patience for being a teacher and we
greatly appreciate and feel indebted to the role a
teacher plays in a student’s life and in society.

3. PRINCIPAL’S DESK
The profession of teaching is the lost wonderful occupation
in the world. It gives an individual, the opportunity to live a
thousand times in just a lifetime. A teacher has the
responsibility of building the future of the nation. When we
say, “With great power comes great responsibility”, the
vice-versa is obviously true. A teacher has immense power to
influence the minds of thousands in a career. We celebrate
Teachers’ Day in the month of September to acknowledge
their hard work and worth but also to enhance and boost up
their power and influence, to fill them with utmost confidence
and faith. A teacher is indispensable part of the society
and shall remain so forever.

5. With the aim to reinforce sanitation as
everyone’s business and focus on plastic waste
management, a Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS)
Campaign 2019 was organised by MPS.
For encouraging the masses to
undertake shramdaan for Swachhata, the green crusaders
of MPS collected plastic waste and spread
awareness to use paper bags for various purposes

6. MPS is commemorating the 150th
birth
anniversary year of Mahatma Gandhi with
full vigour. In the same line, the students of
classes I & II visited Gandhi Smriti. The little
ones were inspired by the great life history
depicted through the artefacts in the
museum. They pledged to follow the
footsteps of Gandhiji and to be a worthy
citizen of their motherland.

8. Green warriors of MPS collaborate with Delhi
Development Authority in go green drive.
The young modernites of Eco club joined hands
with DDA for a tree plantation drive held at
Rambagh Park in the school vicinity. This
initiative is to promote greener surroundings and
create a healthier ambience for all.

9. Modernites retain their faith in the fact that teachers are
the strength of the society. Reverence of teachers is in the
blood and soul of Modern Public School. Treading the same
path, Modernites celebrated the Teacher's Day with great fun
and frolic. The students of class XII were given the
opportunity to be in the shoes of their teachers for the day.
The cherishable event started with a fabulous Ganesh
Vandana performance to invoke the blessings of Lord
Ganesha. The spiritual beginning followed a plethora of fun
filled activities like tug of war, lemon race, musical chair
and many more. The event bestowed the perfect opportunity
upon the students to express gratitude to their mentors.

11. A moment of pride for us!
Our Principal, Mrs. Alka Kapur was recognised for
her phenomenal contribution to education & society
at large, in imparting 21st
-century skills.
Recently in a red carpet event at Mumbai, she
received the Golden Glory Award by none other
than actress and social worker by heart, Preity
G Zinta.

12. Modern Public School is felicitated with the
Eco School Project of the Year Award 2019 by
Dr. Deepak Vohra, Special Advisor to the PM at
an event organized by Indian School Award at
BML Munjal University, Gurugram. This honour
is bestowed for its notable contribution in
making the environment sustainable. Mr. Vohra
appreciated the unique Green Practices that the
institution has adopted and considered the
school as a dynamic supporter for the youth.

13. Mrs. Alka Kapur, Principal, MPS has been
conferred with Excellence in Education
Award by the Delhi Government for her
remarkable contribution in the Education
sector in the Indian society. She is a real
mentor. The hon’ble CM of Delhi Mr Arvind
Kejriwal presented the award at the State
Teachers' Award Ceremony 2019.
