3. This is mock image of the pose I wish to have for my front cover image. This was
inspired by my mood board, and the pose itself suggests for the reader to come closer
and open up the magazine.

This is a mock layout with image, to
see how the magazine would
appear with the current flat plan. I
think it looks good but the large
amount of yellow and orange takes
the attention away from the main
subjects, therefore I need a plain
coloured background that will not
divert the readers attention.
11. These fonts feature the name of the magazine
‘unsigned’ in different fonts, I think the bottom
one is most appealing as it is shows a similarity to
that of a signature which creates an sense of irony
as the magazine is about bands that have not
signed a contract.
12. Colour Schemes
These are a variety of colour
schemes that I feel would work for
my magazine, in this case I feel that
the one highlighted would be the
best one to use for the magazine.
13. Questions
• What type of band are you?
• Tell us a brief history of your band
• What made you decide to take up music?
• Who writes the songs and what are they about?
• Who are your musical influences
• How do you promote your band and shows?
• What's your outlook on the record industry?
• How does music affect you and the world around you?
• What's your claim to fame?
• What are your dreams and goals?
• Is your family musical?
• How would you describe and rate the music scene of the city you are currently living in?
• Where do you plan on going from here?
These are a list of questions I will be
using for my interview with the
headlining band in my double page
spread. These questions have been
chosen in order to extract the most
amount of information about the band
in order to give the readers the best
quality of information
14. Taglines
• For the Next big thing
• Insight into the industry
• For your local Talent
• The Future of music
These are a selection of possible tag
lines for my music magazine, I most
like ‘The future of music’ as this tells
the reader that this magazine will
give them a heads up as to what will
be the next musical success’s in the
music industry
15. Articles
• A headlining band
• A pull quote from the headlining band’s double page spread
• A puff advertising that a free album is included in the magazine
• A selection of other artists who are included within the magazine
• A puff with a buzzword to entice readers
These are a the conventional things that I need to
incorporate into my magazine in order to make it
distinguishable as a magazine and attract readers
16. Band Names
• Reload
• Dropkick
• Clueless Conversation
• A-Grade
• Aim and Fire
• The New Reflection
• Twisted Silver
• A tale of gold
These are a selection of possible
names for my headlining band, I
particularly like the name ‘Aim and
Fire’ it makes it seam as if the band is
alternative and this is the type of music
that my target audience is appealed to
17. Photo shoot
• Photography studio with diffused lighting. The band members will be
composed of three models; Alex, Emma and Becca. They are actually
a three piece band and will be bringing some of their equipment with
them, this will include two guitars.
