I've faced a lot of obstacles in school. But the two major obstacles that seem to always stand out to me was not having teachers who really cared about
their students and how each school district has different curriculum. Falling behind and not knowing the curriculum wasn't a good thing and it led up
to some serious consequences for me. In order for me to overcome these obstacles I had to set some goals. Which were attend tutorials and play catch

Summary of the Case The Suburban Public School District (SPS) is a relatively small district. The student population has a total of about 11,000
students divided between six elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools. Diversity is not a problem, since the community

The Oak Park School District is a suburban district. Our student population consist of students who qualify for the free and reduced lunch program.
Also, 45% of the student population is bused in from the surrounding communities. Oak Park has been in recent years, describe as the melting pot of
Oakland County Michigan.

Joe Whitehead, the teacher of the course have said that they are willing to teach the teachers what they know. This is why I propose that during the
summer the teachers have to go to a one week training program were Mr. Whitehead and his A+ certified students can teach the teachers the basics
of figuring out what the problem is and start to fix the problem. This way the teachers can start fixing the problem while they are waiting for one of
the five students to come and finish fixing whatever the problem may be, this will cut down on some of the time it takes to fix the issue. This solution
is a cost effective way to start chipping away at the wasted time. For teachers who want to learn how to completely find, isolate and fix the technical
issue the work shop could be a month long but only mandate the teachers to attend the first week when the basics are being taught.
Now that the teachers can start fixing their own technical issues the 25 minutes will be shorter. The next problem is setting up/knowing how to use the
technology. During the mandatory week of training you can bring in students to teach the teachers how to use this technology. It would only coast the
school some pizza, chips, and soda and fixes two problems. Students complain about teachers not understating what it is like to be a student and sit in a
"boring class", and teachers complain that the students do not understand what it is like to get up in front of a class to teach.

The School Of The Olyphant School District
In 1910, when this school was first open, many students throughout the United States still attended classes in one–room schoolhouses. Aside from the
one–room schoolhouse in Marshwood, Olyphant had progressed beyond that stage. This building was the centerpiece of the Olyphant School District.
It had the look of a high school in a major city. At the time all of the streets in downtown Olyphant were paved with red brick. Most of the students
lived within walking distance of the school. They were able to walk home to eat lunch. Therefore, no one ever thought of including a cafeteria in the

The United School District (USD) 475 is located in the small town of Junction City and on the military installation of Fort Riley, Kansas where I
lived from June of 2004 to December of 2014. Shortly after receiving my high school diploma in 2012, I applied for the position of Paraprofessional at
an Elementary school. I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to gain some experience in this field, since my original goal was to become a
special education teacher. However, what I did not anticipated was that this formal organization was plagued by an array of bureaucratic shortcomings
that affected the effectiveness and efficiency of the support staff. One of this school districts bureaucratic shortcomings was due to the weak reward
system in place that hindered the implementation of creative and innovative teaching techniques, promotions, compatible wage adjustments and
recognition. I, myself, am affected by ADHD, an attention–deficit/hyperactivity disorder of the brain and; therefore, know how difficult it can be to stay
focused and on task. Consequently, I incorporated some self–thought techniques, such as closing my eyes, taking deep calm breaths, try not to think

San Bernardino City Unified School District houses one of the largest populations for students with moderate to severe disabilities within the Inland
Empire. Over the past decade San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) has sustained an influx of students who qualify for a moderate
to severe special day classroom (SDC) setting and special education services. Effectively educating youth with moderate to severe disabilities is not a
simplex task, as it requires multifaceted skillsets involving various special education professionals. Developing and executing a service delivery model
that targets student's individual needs, while simultaneously supporting students in strides towards life long goals is crucial. Carmack Elementary is
one of fifty–two elementary schools within SBCUSD that only provides educational services to students with moderate to severe disabilities grades
kindergarten through sixth. The community surrounding Carmack Elementary has been deemed high–poverty, indicating a vast majority of students
who attend Carmack are presumed as low–income status. Lastly, a vast majority of students who attend Carmack Elementary qualify for the free and

In this paper I am going to present an theoretical school district, school, and a classroom as examples of
the ideal that our educational system should strive to achieve. The philosophy my schools will be based
on is one of equality. Every single child will have an opportunity to receive the best possible education.
However, we will never lower our standards for the sake of equality. Each child will be pushed to his or
her personal best, not an average standard.
Before talking about what goes on inside the schools, I 'd like to mention the district itself. There will be
no alternative school choices, bussing, or deliberate desegregation practices. Each school will be
remarkably similar to the others in the district so that every child may receive a similar education
regardless of the neighborhood they live in. When students are separated to different schools for any
reason (academic talent, wealth, interests, race, gender) they fail to interact with different types of
people that they will undoubtedly encounter in the "real" adult world. In addition, I feel that is very
important for children from the same neighborhood to attend the same school in order to increase a
sense of community. Finally, as the Case Study of Boulder Valley points out, school choice takes valuable
resources away from teaching and places them in school competition (Howe 144).

In YCSD it seems that Students with Disabilities are the students who move the most, while CCSD has both Limited English and the Hispanic students
are the most mobile and MCSD the Limited English population that is most mobile.
When looking at District Report Cards all we usually hear about is student data, not realizing that there is also teacher data reported in this document.
Looking over the data as a whole the schools are pretty similar in teacher data. Attendance was at between 93% and 94%, while teacher–students ratio
per 1000 students was lower than the state average in all schools. Teacher's average pay was within $5000.00, MCSD was the lowest at $52,000.00
and CCSD being the highest at $57,000.00. Looking at teacher and principal evaluations YCSD and MCSD had no teachers with an Effective
evaluation, the highest percentage of teachers fell under Accomplished in evaluations. As for principals YCSD and MCSD principals were either
Accomplished or Skilled, the majority were Skilled, in all Districts. As for CCSD, they had no one Accomplished, but they did have Developing and
Effective.
Finance was the final section of the report I looked at and YCSD spends the most per pupil, over $11,000 while the other two districts between $8800
and $9400 and about 65% of that are spent on classrooms.

Our political leaders struggle to understand the impact they have on the policies they put into place to improve public education. We see mandates that
are unfunded and have a significant impact on a school district's budget. Special education continues to be an area rich with policy and yet additional
dollars are not included in the decisions made for implementation. Title one funding is an area that falls into a blurry area of policy for school districts.
In our district, we have policies for fiscal responsibility in our spending procedures and yearly audits to be sure we are spending our money in a proper
way.
When we look at our Title One dollars through the lens of an audit and based on our fiscal district policies, it is all about compliance. The policy is
to meet the checkmark of auditing, proper spending and reporting. It is all aligned with compliance. Compliance, compliance, compliance is the
theme of the policies related to Title funding. Did the district create a spending plan and follow the spending plan to the exact letter? Where
attention is not given in the area of Title One funding is whether the way in which the money was spent was best for children and student learning.
So if a need for students comes up during the school year, the school or district is unable to offer any funding for a program to help students. Because

How Does the Child's School District Wealth Affect a Child's Education? Educational funding for school districts is an ongoing war. A war that will
be fought till equality is achieved. A school district's wealth is affected by a number of reasons such as its property wealth, the race of the people who
live there and their socio–economic status. Some districts are wealthier than others. Wealthy districts get more funding than poor districts because they

With the completion of Wilburton ElementarySchool, enrollment numbers will significantly decrease at the elementary schools in the northwest
corridor of Bellevue. Although Wilburton will provide relief for certain schools in Bellevue, it isn't a viable long–term solution for another highly

There was a survey and the results said that 70% of teachers never used or rarely used an IPad before being introduced to the classroom. Versus

Fifteen years ago, I served as the student board representative for my school district. All I can really remember is being entertained by emotional parent
complaints and listening to jargon–filled presentations. Upon receiving my first pink slip from that same district seven years later, I spoke at a

A Report Card For Yankton School District
For the first project requirements, I collected data for the Yankton School District and the Mitchell School District from the South Dakota Department
of Education's website. I specifically looked at each district's report card that included performance indicators, school performance index, staffing and
student population statistics, attendance numbers and high school completion and college and career readiness statistics. Each school district's report
card contained further detailed information and percentages regarding test scores in math, ELA, and science.
After collecting and organizing the data from the district report card for Yankton School District, one of the most interesting trends I found was
the difference in scores between 2013 and 2014. For the years 2012 and 2013, scores were reported on four levels: Below Basic, Basic, Proficient, and
Advanced. Then in 2014, the scores were reported on a new leveling system including the four levels: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4. When
reviewing the different levels, I compared Level 1 to Below Basic. In 2013 for the 6th–grade class, out of 190 students, 0.53% of those students scored
at the Below Basic level in math. However, in 2014 for the 6th–grade class, out of 166 students, 32.32% of those students scored at Level 1. Even when
evaluating the same group of students, the 7th grade class for 2014, I noticed a rather large increase as well, with 23.30% of 209 students scoring at

I interviewed Dr. Linda Vandaveer, a school psychologist with the Simi Valley Unified School District, on February 4, 2016. I saw her at Katherine
