The Importance Of Goals In Education
The decisions we make can affect us in the worst ways(Finkelstein, 2009). It is so important to use critical thinking because in the long run it will
help in making good decisions. My major goal is to graduate and have good grades. One of the most important things about setting goals while in
school is that each one needs to be distinct, achievable, and rewarding in order to keep me moving forward . Before setting any major goals for
myself, I must try to ensure they conform to the following criteria. First of all I need to be specific knowing exactly what I need to accomplish, make
sure my goal is achievable, stay focused on the goals and hold myself to them, and establish a deadline for accomplishing these goals. These are the
five things I spend most of my time thinking about.
These are my goals and plans as follows;
(1). Set a Goal for Grades in Each Class– Even though I want to do my best in each class I have to consider some subjects are harder than others and
each instructor is different. Nevertheless, I must set a realistic goal for the grade I think I can earn by working hard, and invest a reasonable amount
of time working toward this goal. Some courses are just harder, or more applicable to the intended career path, than others, and setting a specific grade
goal can help to prioritize effectively. (2). Plan Homework/Study Times for Every Course– At the beginning of each five weeks, try to plan out specific
time blocks for each class throughout the week, and hold

The Importance Of Goals And Academic Goals In Education
Different plants grow in different environments. Their differences are accommodated by their environment. There should be an understanding that
students are the same way. Each student thrives in different environments of learning. Alicia is a sixth grade student who is not thriving in her
environment. She refuses to participate and becomes anxious at the thought of school. Academically, Alicia struggles to coherently express her
thoughts, and she becomes lost in mathematical problems. Alicia is not thriving in her environment. By looking into the specifics of Alicia's behavior
and academic goals, one can see how she will be able to meet her goals and flourish in the classroom.
Alicia is a bright student, but part of her hardships lie in certain behaviors that distract her and distance her in school. One example, would be Alicia's
reluctance to answer questions in class and putting her head down on the desk when she is called upon. In order to focus on this lack of participation,
her first behavior goal would be, "Given a short, daily one–on–one meeting with her teacher to organize and mentally prepare for the day, Alicia will
participate in class three times each day without being called on, as evaluated by the classroom teacher through a data tracking chart daily." Breaking
this goal down, the first half of the goal would be the modification and accommodation Alicia will receive. PBIS World provided different interventions
for students that struggle in participation.

Personal Goals For Special Education
Someone interested or working in special education entails a lot of skill, tolerance, and training, but is known as one of the most satisfying jobs
for the right individual. For myself, I figured out that I am not the right individual for this career. However, special education applies to students
who are have various degrees of learning disabilities and require special attention by teachers, psychologist, aides, paraprofessionals, and so on. It
is imperative to know that as a special educator you will be responsible for the educational needs of children with a wide range of disabilities. These
children will need a variety of different services, changes and accommodations in their educational experiences. Knowledge of each type of disability
and the specific needs of the children with that disability are vital if you plan to be involved in the field of special education. The numerous groups of
disabilities are clearly defined in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004. A special education teacher is unique in that they can fit many
different roles in the educational environment. Though, each of these different roles involves a variety of responsibilities and functions. A special
education teacher needs to understand these responsibilities can only help them become more familiar with the role and increase the chances for
success. There are many practical strategies that are effective in a special education classroom. It is honestly up to the classroom and special education
teacher to make sure that the appropriate strategies are being used properly and to assist individual learning styles. It is recommended that the proper
approached be used, with visual, auditory, kinesthetic and tactile for success. The next step is to focus on the classroom environment. It's significant to
seat the students in an area that is free from distraction. A teacher must remove any redundant materials from the student's desk that will reduce
distractions. Only things that should be on their desk is educational material. Students should have check lists to help them keep organized. Nothing
excites kids more than checking off something they have completed. Allowing the students to take breaks will help them to

Education Is A Important Life Goal
Education is a very important life goal to many people, I do not people believe that a lot of individuals would disagree with this statement. As one
goes through school they may face several obstacles to overcome. It is vital that parents, educators, and other caregivers that play a significant role in a
child's life. A child needs of these people to help them in their educational goals from birth to adulthood. Earlychildhood inclusion means the standards,
policies, and implements that provision the accuracy of infants and young children families, regardless of skills, to take part in a wide–ranging actions
and settings as full participants of people, groups, and culture. (DEC/NAEYC, 2009). I believe that if everyone works together following these
guidelines all children will have a successful education. We as educators have to find strategies to use in the classroom for the meet the diversity of all
children. For example, disability, foreign, minorities and any other child. In this paper, I will discuss strategies, suggestions and adjustments that is a
part of the early childhood inclusion.
I believe that all children should be able to be engaged into the same classroom settings. If a child has a disability I feel that there are assistive
devices to help accommodate them to need their needs in the classroom. For example, Assistive devices are products and tools that can make
individuals lives easier. There is a lot of equipment to help the student out in the

Essay 4 Draft one
What is the end goal of education in today's society? Why do students feel the need to cheat on tests even if they have studied? I believe the answer is
because the grades we get have become more valuable than the education we received. In today's world, education is strictly consumerist based and it is
working directly inverse of what education is supposed to do. Education is should to help facilitate the development of citizenship, stimulate personal
growth or self–improvement, occupational preparation, and bring intellectual purposes such as the expansion of mathematical and reading skills. It
should also be used to ease the assimilation of immigrants; economic purposes such as job preparation; and social purposes such as the development
of social and moral responsibility. Unfortunately, we have perverted the simple idea of advancement and made it as such that everything we do must
have a dollar sign right next to it. Or to put it another way, nothing can ever be done without first paying the middle man. This is not how we are meant
to grow as individuals. We should not be studying something because of the potential salary. We should be pursuing these subjects because they
stimulate and excite us to learn more about our field of interests.

Special Education Career Goal
My career goal is to obtain a master's degree in elementary education by the end of Fall 2016 in order to start teaching by the beginning of Spring
2017. Upon completion of the dual certification track, I will receive elementary (K–6), special education (ESE K–6), and ESOL endorsements. Before
entering graduate school, I always believed these certifications would prepare me for teaching more than if I had started teaching immediately after
graduation. Today, I still hold this belief to be true, for I have opportunities now to closely practice, implement, and refine teaching skills, strategies,
and qualities that I learned as an undergraduate in a real school setting. I am also able to work closely alongside teachers who have experience
working with students with identified disabilities and experience the different behavioral responses that students with identified disabilities may
exhibit. As a first year intern this semester, I even sat in on an EPT (Evaluation and Planning Team) meeting regarding whether or not a student in my
first grade classroom should receive a 504 Plan that I did not get to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My interests in working with non–native English speakers were piqued when my second semester placement teacher happened to teach reading
instructions to high–performing ELL students. Her interactions with those students were not any different than her interactions with native English
speakers, but her presentations of instructions were slightly different. Since then, I always wondered how would her instructions differ if she had
taught the lower–performing ELL students instead. What teaching methods did the ESOL certified teacher use that my placement teacher did not?

Goals Of Higher Education
The general public of the United States believes greatly in the higher education system. For many graduating high school students, the goal is to
become enrolled and graduate from college. In order to determine whether the education system works, one must determine if students who attend
college gain from entering, but more so from leaving college. The American higher education system functions very well and accomplishes its goal. But
throughout the country there are many goals that the system of higher education sets for itself, as well as set by the general public.
Colleges have very many goals that they have set out to accomplish. The United States hopes to have more people attend universities, to increase
diversity within higher education, and to make college affordable. In the United States the population with a college degree has increased throughout
the years as a goal of the United States to have a more educated population of more diverse backgrounds.
While the cost does not deter individuals from enrolling in institutions of higher education a large portion of the population would not be able to afford
college without the help form financial assistance. It is important to note that a portion of the groups that are included in higher education consist of
distance education, and two–year colleges, private, public, and for–profit

What Are The Department Of Education Goals
The U.S. Department of Education was established on May 4, 1980, by congress in the Department of Education Organization Act (Public Law 96–88
of October 1979). Their objective is to grant all Americans equal access to education, all while promoting the overall quality of an enlightened
experience. The Department of Education has a mission with many goals. These goals are to strengthen the Federal commitment to assuring access to
equal educational opportunity for every individual and encourage the increased involvement of the public, parents, and students in Federal education
programs. They also want to supplement and complement the efforts of states and the local school systems, the private sector, public and private
nonprofit educational research institutions, community–based organizations, parents, and students to improve the quality of education. High on their
agenda is to improve the management and coordination of Federal programs and activities. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Personal Goals Of Education
The purpose of an education is to prepare young children and adults for life, work, and citizenship after completing school. Also, it is my duty as a
future educator to empower students in a process that allows them to develop their passion, compassion, drive, critical thinking skills, and orientation
towards wisdom for timely action. An education and the affect I will have on my students will place their empty minds with a more open one. I will
instill in them, an education is the key to life and it opens many doors.
I believe children learn well when their teacher is familiar with their learning style whether it is visual, kinesthetic, or auditory. I have realized every

While serving as a mentor, all children have certain needs that must be met if they growing and learning at their best. However, I will provide those
needs. Basic needs that will be provided: a great learning environment, love and nurture, and discipline when needed. Great learning environments
help children enhance their skills and ensure they are ready for the next educational phase. In addition, love and nurture is important. Every child
wants to feel loved. My goal is to provide my students with love and care because I know this this will help them become strong, independent
individuals as they progress throughout life. Discipline does not always mean paddling a child. I hope I am able to give a prep talk, a walk down the
hall, or place the child in time–out for 5–10 minutes and if all fails, a phone call home will be made. However, children often learn from their mistakes.
I will ensure these needs are met by making sure my learning environment is comfortable enough for all my students to ask questions without being
afraid. I will show my students that I care not only about them, but their education as a whole. Making sure the student's homework is completed and
keeping parents afloat is very essential as it relates to students and their learning abilities.
As a future educator, it is my duty to perform qualities as a teacher. Qualities I think would be vital and helpful for my assistant and I

My Educational Goals And Personal Goals Of College Education
As young children you are always asked what do you want to do when you grow up. Well being grown up is just around the corner and people have
to decide what they want to do with the rest of your life and many different answers arise; doctor, nurse, or engineer. I for one aspire to be a teacher.
When asked why be a teacher I explain that I feel I have the personal qualities and the inspiration to better the next generation of minds. As this is
coming closer to become reality the goal at this point is to get the best college education so that I will be able to achieve this goal of being a teacher.
Having multiple qualities of a teacher is very important, I posses the ability to be organized, time efficient and eager to teach the next generation
of kids. Being an organized person in general is far different from being an organized teacher. This entails having everything in its place and it
could be found by anyone at any time. This helps the students it allows the students to have all their work ready and this allows learning to become
easier and more efficient. Being time efficient in all walks of life is very important because always being on time shows what kind of person you are.
Being on time in the classroom allows you to get all the learning that is needed down so that the students are able to get the most out of there education
that they need. Both being organized and having good time management go hand in hand due to the fact that if you are able to run a

My Goals In Education
My life has not been easy. I have gone through many struggles to reach my goals, and some of the experiences have not been the best. However, I
am positive and strive to meet my own expectations as a human being and as a member of a democratic community. However, a democratic
community does not imply that everyone in the community has an equitable life. Therefore, some of us are less fortunate and have less opportunities
to reach our goals. Nonetheless, as a human beings we all have the potential for growth, we only need that little or big extra help, depending on the
individual's circumstances. I remember when I was in first grade, I was the only child who did not go to kindergarten because my parents could not

As a consequence, everyone in the ideal society, becomes just because as human beings we all aim for happiness. In order to contribute to this
ideal, I plan to play appropriately the role that I have chosen in my community. That is to serve as a facilitator and as guidance for my students to
meet as many educative experiences as possible, as Dewey would say. In a way, use those previous experiences to shape their desire for learning. I
do understand that some of the previous experiences might have been miseducative, and it is there where I will play the best role as a teacher to
change their perspective towards education (Dewey., 272).
I pretend to use combination of Plato's virtues; wisdom, courage, temperance, and justice to reach every single student in my classroom. I will use
wisdom to find the best way possible to figure out each student to better serve them. I will implement courage when a difficult time comes and my
intervention is required. I will pick that courage and speak against any injustice that there might be present during my practice. Temperance requires
me to be able to control my actions, which brings me to the idea of reasoning, if one is capable of reasoning one is more likely to act justly. Justice is
what our system of education most needs; teachers capable to provide an equitable education, even for those less fortunate, by being

My Goals In School Education
College has always been a dream for me. Growing up neither one of my parents attended school. Not to say they haven't had successful careers but
I saw they struggles of finding a job without a degree. I knew that to pursue my dream school was crucial. My parents had never given me an option
on whether or not to go to school. School had been in steeled in me since as little kid. Through school my love of kids grew. I decided at an early age
that I wanted to be a teacher. I have followed that passion all the way through the years. I am currently pursuing my dream at Austin Community
College. I plan on transfer to a University after getting my basics done. I am still undecided about where I may transfer too. My decision to go to
school has been my biggest priority. I want to go to school so I have something to live for have a job I enjoy and change the world by touching
children's hearts. My childhood education experience hasn't been the easiest. Growing up in Las Vegas, the education wasn't always the best. I always
struggled in school but never had any of the support to learn the material. I think that having these problems in my younger days really affected the
rest of my schooling. I never really knew the standards. I made my way through school by faking knowing the standards. Now, that I am in college I
am struggling with not knowing some of the standards. Throughout the years I had to learn many lessons. In elementary school I learned that it's okay

Personal Essay On Education And The Goal Of Education
"The goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create men
who are capable of doing new things," stated by Jean Piaget. Education serves many purposes; it helps a child open their eyes to the world, it
provides curiosity and determination for a young adult, and it can provide middle age adults and elders with a spark of belonging and hope. To be
able to achieve these purposes, the process of education must start at a young age. Singing the ABC's to an infant, reading to a toddler, encouraging
writing and math skills are a few steps towards all the possibilities a person could have in life. The first purpose of education is opening a child's
eyes to the world around them. I believe in order for a child to be fully immersed in education, the parents, and the teachers, must be fully dedicated to
make a lasting impact on a child. The parents need to start teaching the child at a young age and help the child strengthen their abilities throughout the
years. This is similar to what a teacher needs to do. However, teachers have the tough, and wonderful, job of filling a child up with new information as
well as strengthening their current abilities. Incidentally, the home environment a child grows up in and the classroom environment are vitally
important for a child's education. For instance, if a parent does not take on the role of a teacher in the early ages, the child will be behind the

Goals For My Education At Ccu
3 Goals for My Education at CCU
I have had a lifetime goal to attend college, it just didn't happen early in life. When I first came to CCU, there was no doubt that getting my bachelors
in early childhood would be my major. My passion has always been young children. It started when I babysat as a young teenager and has continued in
my life as a preschool teacher. Education is constantly changing: therefore, I feel I need to have more knowledge and wisdom to be the best teacher
possible. Education is by far one of the most important tools to have a successful life. With diligence, I want to be a leading educator and to be a
gateway for my students to learn. It's exhilarating how many lives a teacher will touch each day. A teacher has the power to reach out and make
learning a positive and memorable experience for every child. Furthermore, teachers are one of the first caregivers for young children. Although I am
not at the beginning of my career, while at CCU, I will grow in faith, help and learn from others, and strive to graduate with honors. The first goal I
have is to understand the scriptures in the Bible and grow in my faith. When I started to look at colleges, I didn't even think about attending a
Christian college. I contacted a junior college in a nearby town to see what they had to offer me. By the grace of God, they recommend me to CCU.
At the time that I enrolled, I didn't realize that I would be required to take Bible classes. At first, I wondered

The Goals Of Education And Becoming A Teacher
Becoming a teacher is so much more challenging than people perceive it to be. Most candidates looking to go into teaching have not considered why
they are going into the profession in the first place. Many have been pushed in the direction of teaching or haven't figured out what else they want to do
and they end up here. There are all different qualities that make up the foundation of the teaching experience such as passion, commitment,
responsibility, patience and communication. In my life, I want to accomplish making a difference in the world by helping children use their thinking
and communicating skills in order to grow and develop themselves by dreaming big and working hard. Studying Education and entering the teaching
profession will help me accomplish this goal not only for my life but for the children's too.
As a child, working and playing with little kids has always been a huge passion of mine. Growing up, I always looked after and protected my little
brother. Once we began to get older and he was able to watch over himself at times, I began providing child care by babysitting other parent's
children. Working and helping children are such a big part of my life and will always be. My summer job at an amusement park has all different
camps and schools that come every single day so they're always around me. My favorite part of working with kids is that they are all so different and
unique in their own way. It's fascinating getting to know each one of them

The Goals Of My Education And My Philosophy Of Education
Truly, education has been very important since my youth. At beginning, school was not an interest to me, due to the different things that was impacting
me. Growing up, learning was the last thing on my mind, because I wanted to stay home and watch television, and do things a child would do.
However, when school started for me, things began to change for me. I began to start learning things that I did not recognize. Throughout my fifth
grade year, my grades began to look very good, from a C to a B, in which this motivated me to seek even higher grades. My father and mother
encouraged me to pursue higher grades. Third, biblical principle: #34, "People live up or down to the expectation of others" (Cox, n.d., p. 3). We
live up to the expectation of other people praise, especially when you are young. So, it worked for me because it motivated me to do even better. "No
man that warreth entagleth himself with the affairs of this life: that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier" (II Tim. 2:4, KJV). In
my future vocation as an educator, my intention is to have an instructor, parent relationship as well as encourage, and motivate students to be the very
best that they can be. In addition, throughout my learning experience, I had desired to become a teacher myself. Even my grandfather knew of my
fate as being a teacher, and then he went out and bought me a chalkboard, so that I can help teach the children of our community. Fourth, biblical
principle that is applicable: # 42, "Choice was an inborn motivation" (Cox, n.d., p. 3). Although, at first my focus was not on school and learning, but it
was my inborn motivation that caused me to pursue knowledge, the process of education. Through this motivation I started seeking higher learning to
become a teacher. "Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse" (Deut 11:26–28, KJV). Education has been a blessing to me. At first in my
primary phase, I felt that it was a curse, but it has been a termodouse blessing. I will have the opportunity to be a blessing to others. In my academic
journey many of my teachers have been up to the standard, which has impacted my life to be academically ready. According to Gutek (2011) education

Goals Of Education
Societal Goals of Education The goals we set for today's education will have a lasting impact on future society. Society invests in public education in
order to reach their societal goals. These goals directly inform what and how we teach in public education as well as how we organize the institution.
Lastly society hopes that education will shape students into active community members on local and national levels. I will argue that societal goals of
education are to produce an equal well educated population that is prepared for future endeavors. I will demonstrate that public education is directly
linked to society's aims by creating active citizens.
Providing Knowledge and Skills
Public education provides knowledge and social skills to all. The basic skills commonly associated with education are the three R's: reading, writing,
and 'rithmetic. While these skills are foundational to extending learning they are not the only skills our schools provide. Basic learning such as reading,
writing, and math are offered throughout the elementary levels. As students progress through their education and reach secondary school, the skills
become more based off of society's needs. Public education requires high school students to take a certain amount of sciences, math, and government
classes along with their English courses. Skill sets taught during these classes go beyond the curriculum to develop students' self–management, decision
making, problem–solving, understanding of

My Goals For Education In Education
It is my conviction that the meaning of life does not dwell in the length of time that one can live or the material abundance that one can acquire, but
in the richness and the wonderfulness of life itself. With the increase of my age, many things in my life have changed. But one thing remains
constant, that is, I will consistently insist on doing what I like to do and hope that my endeavors can be valuable to the life of others. I see this as the
only way whereby I can realize the value of my life.
My undergraduate study focused on economics and I achieved remarkable scholastic performance in this field. My GPA is 3.44 (my GRE score is

Goals of American Public Education
Public education in America began in the early to mid–19th century with the simple goal of "uniting the American population by instilling common
moral and political values" (Spring, 2012, p. 5). Our country was founded by men who designed the constitution so that it could be amended to
accommodate changing political and social climates. They believed in the ideology of the American dream which "holds out a vision of both
individual success and the collective good of all" (Hochschild & Scovronick, 2004, p. 1). It is with this same ideology that our public schools were

These models are the Common–School model, the Sorting–Machine model, and the High–Stakes testing model.
The Common–School model is one in which the school system is set up in order to allow all students an equal education. The disparities between social
classes would, theoretically, be eliminated by this normalization. The Sorting–Machine model recognizes that all students are not created equal.
Teachers, counselors, and standardized tests would be used to impartially "overcome the influence of family background" (Spring, 2012, p. 59). Finally,
the High–Stakes testing model is based on the notion that schools can "give everyone an equal chance to learn and to be tested without cultural bias"
(Spring, 2012, p. 63). Standardized tests are used for all forms of advancement and placement from grade–level promotions to professional
credentialing. These models are used side–by–side, to some degree, in our 21st century implementation of public education.
Obstacles in Achieving Educational Goals
Throughout the history of public education, there have been barriers to the equality of opportunity philosophy. Thomas Jefferson's proposal and Horace
Mann's implementation of public schools excluded non–citizens like blacks, women, and Native Americans. Next, an increase in immigration and
industrialization widened cultural and economic differences between students. The greatest obstacle to equal education

My Educational Goals, Goals And Goals Of Education
In my classroom, the purpose and goals of education are to develop a student's knowledge and skills for life. Also, to create well–rounded students, and
to raise the bar of student understanding. The role of a student in education is to be involved in their own learning, to ask questions when there is a
lack of understanding, and to work to the best of their ability in school. The role of the teacher is to be someone the students can trust and feel like
they can talk to, also to engage students in learning and to be understanding of the students circumstance. I believe that students learn with experience
and repetition. Also, by making their own decisions in their own time about learning. And by trial and error, with guidance from the teacher. My goals
and purposes for my classroom are to develop the student's knowledge and skills set for life. I want my students to leave my classroom not only
prepared for the next grade, but also for life. My goal is to help my students grow in what they learn over the course of the year in my classroom. I
want to engage students in learning and to develop their minds and stretch them to achieve their own goals of their education. Also, I want for my
students to leave my classroom well–rounded, to bring up the areas that they might be struggling in, and raise the bar on subjects they are excelling
in. It is important for me to set goals for my future students and to aid them to be successful in school. My purpose as a teacher is to inspire students
and to motivate the act of lifelong learning. I find it necessary to challenge students and put the students out of his or her comfort zone with
stimulating tasks and activities. My goals and purposes of education are to better the student and to help them become the ultimate citizen. The role of
a student in the classroom should be to work hard and do his or her best, to be positive, ask questions , and be involved in the classroom and the
community. I believe that students should work hard and do their best in everything they do, and be proud of their work. In my classroom I will
encourage students to be positive and optimistic when learning. I my classroom I want students to express themselves through

My Personal and Educational Goals
Throughout my life, I have already accomplished a lot of the education goals that I have set for myself, but there are still a few goals that I want to
reach. My first goal is to graduate from Resurrection. I want to be able to say that during my time at Res, I received good grades and remained on the
honor role in the course of my high school education. I also want to finish Polish school. For the last 10 years, I have attended Polish school on

finishing high school, I plan to continue my education at a four–year college or university. While I haven't thought

Goals of Education
To what extent do schools serve the goals of a true education? In order, to correctly identify the answer to this prompt, one must first define true
education. ?James Baldwin describing true education said, the purpose of a true education is to help develop well–rounded individuals, consequently,
integrating them as educated and intellectual members of society, individuals who are able to make their own decisions and worldly perceptions.
Intelligence and character becoming the rudiments of success. Although the school system is said to be failing, it?s purpose transcends the common

Francine prose, and author and critic says, " that the books I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, To Kill a Mockingbird, and other various classics
have bad benefits, like poor writing skills and an incomprehension of material. Thus, not reaching the expectations of a true education. However,
other evidence suggests the contrast to this statement. One of the many Freedom Writers wrote about the power of literature saying, " I know
why the caged bird sings. For many people this might sound like a normal poem, but to me it's an analogy of my life. I sometimes feel as if Ian a
bird without wings, and the door on my cage is not open. A bird doesn't sing because it's happy, it sings because it's not free. This individual found a

The Importance Of Learning Goals For Positive Education
Learning Goals:
The long term and short term goals are closely linked in this ILP (expect long term goal 3), and they are designed in accordance to the curriculum's
learning progression with adjustment based on Ayla's specific learning needs. While these goals are developed for Ayla, all of the targeted skills or
resilience are critical for any individuals to succeed both in schools in their adult life, as individuals with better resilience can deal with depression
effectively and learn from failures (Coles–Janess, & Griffin, 2009). Ability to concentrate and efficient time management are also skills that are
universally critical, and even some adults may also need help with these goals. It is thus proposed that part of the intervention strategies developed for
this ILP should be implemented school wide. This would not only enhance Ayla's learning progression but also benefit all students. A suggestion is to
employ positive education, a pedagogy that have been used and proved effective in schools internationally (Larson, 2016). Positive education advocate
the development of students' broad set of character strengths, virtues, and competencies, which also support students' wellbeing. The actual plan for
positive education will be developed based on the school's culture, policies, and situation.
Ways of Monitor and Improvements
The impact of this ILP will be monitor by all members of the SSG. Members will keep records of Ayla's progression (includes Ayla's self evaluation)

The Goal Of The Physical Education Teacher
Mismatch between What is Taught and What is Needed for Careers
The goal of the physical education teacher education curriculum is to train teachers who can provide effective teaching and produce learning outcomes
in children. However, when it comes to train preservice teachers, there is no consistent curriculum across the programs in the U.S. It depends on the
interests and abilities of teacher educators and to the demands of the institutions in which they serve (Locke, Mand, & Sidentop, 1981). This
disciplinary debates about what to teach has been continued since 1964 initiated by Henry (Collier, 2006).
The primary point of this debate in physical education teacher education curriculum lies in the confliction between two knowledge ... Show more

However, Rovegno (2001, p. 93) also claimed that "since the mid–1990s, the tide has turned. With the work of Ennis and her colleagues and students,
in particular their recent work on Sport for Peace, curriculum theorist such as Kirk and Sparkes, Peter Hastie and colleagues' work on Sport Education,
and Barrett's work on lacrosse, curriculum and subject matter research and scholarship has blossomed and is growing. The quality of this work in
comparison to other fields in education is strong and this work is accepted in the top general education journals."

The Function Of Education Is The Goal Of True Education
Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character– that is
the goal of true education." Education is teaching the whole person; not just the intellectual side, but also the social and emotional side. Social and
Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which students gain the skills necessary to recognize and manage all their emotions, build
relationships, solve interpersonal problems, and make effective and ethical decisions. The significance of SEL continues to grow in the context of
policy debates concerning school improvement and individual student achievement. A review found that SEL programs improved students'
performance in the classroom, not just their emotional performance. Specifically, they found an increase of 11% to 17% in test scores (1). SEL has just
recently made it into mainstream educational curriculum, but at many schools, including Stevenson, they haven 't found an efficient way to asses the
SEL standings of individual students. Tools to assess social and emotional competency is broad and includes instruments that look at population–level
changes in social–emotional constructs, program outcomes, and process outcomes. The measures come from multiple frameworks such as youth risk
and protective factors and youth developmental assets. We must identify key assessment tools for evaluating changes in social/emotional well–being of
the students. Overall what

I'm a part of the Community Club at Early College Academy at Southridge and for our main Service Learning Project we go to Eickenroht
Elementary School to teach the students about diversity. I was really excited about this event because when I grow up I want to become a teacher.
I not only want to teach my students about reading and math skills, I want to teach them about diversity as well. For our event, you have 10 to 12
kids in each group with 4 to 6 helpers and a leader. This year I became the leader in my group and I got to try out different things with the kids,
such as splitting the group in 2 to 3 and having the helpers switch from one group to the other. Later we came back together as a big group and
talked about diversity. As a student teaching a student, I understood that the elementary students would have a better chance to be heard by the
helpers and leader if there were fewer students in their group. I learned a lot about myself during this event, such as, my level of patience,
understanding each student differently and my ability to get the lesson to the students. When I was a leader, I was responsible for getting everything
ready for every group, make plans for my group and explain the agenda to the groups. This impacted me by taking charge and not sitting back like I
did in previous years. I really enjoyed every part of this event, especially helping the

The Goal Of Education And The Goals Of Public Education
The goals of public education revolve around three main areas that include; the political goals of schooling, the social goals of schooling, and the
economic goals of schooling. These goals were placed with the idea that all children should receive public education whether you were poor or rich
and schools focused on teaching about political views and the law to avoid conflicts. Schools were the focus of many hopes for political, social, and
economic improvement.
A persistent educational goal of school was to give everyone the same chance to pursue wealth, which is known as equality of opportunity. Equality of
opportunity is the idea that individuals compete with one another with all participants starting at the same point, which Horace Mann referred to as the,
"great balance wheel of society" (Spring, 2016, p. 66). Schools provide everyone with an equal opportunity to pursue an education and wealth; however,
I believe there are factors that alter that equilibrium. Mann believed that equality of opportunity would reduce tensions between the rich and the poor. It
allowed the poor to believe that regardless of their circumstance their children had an equal chance to compete with children of rich families (Spring,
2016 p. 67). However, there are factors that will contribute to your opportunity to succeed, but schools give students the opportunity to all start on the
same path that end in different destinations.
The debate about equality of opportunity is centered on three

Goal Of Education
Marc Prensky's article "the goal of education is becoming" is about the poor decision of how schools are teaching children. The article by Diane

their own article with their own points. One of the differences is Ravitch mentions how people from poorer places or in poor black and hispanic
neighborhood have worse to no schooling. She states this by saying "policy makers encouraged the firing of thousands of teachers and the closing of

When they leave school, with a strong resume to their credit, they should be creative and effective thinkers, communicators, and doers. Anyone who

grade because that does not make good people in the world but instead makes good tests takers. This point really shows the other's purpose for writing
this article (that main goal being to improve the way education is given). In my opinion the fact that these quotes are coming from credible sources
makes me really people there needs to be a change that happens soon so our future children don't have to have education that makes them good test
takers and by no means makes them ready to go out into the society and face what the world has in store for them. Why haven't they changed the way
we learn? Why do they insist on tests being so important? Is my child actually learning what they needs for the rest of their life? These are many
questions that need to be asked for the next generations

The Importance Of Goals In Education

  • 1. The Importance Of Goals In Education The decisions we make can affect us in the worst ways(Finkelstein, 2009). It is so important to use critical thinking because in the long run it will help in making good decisions. My major goal is to graduate and have good grades. One of the most important things about setting goals while in school is that each one needs to be distinct, achievable, and rewarding in order to keep me moving forward . Before setting any major goals for myself, I must try to ensure they conform to the following criteria. First of all I need to be specific knowing exactly what I need to accomplish, make sure my goal is achievable, stay focused on the goals and hold myself to them, and establish a deadline for accomplishing these goals. These are the five things I spend most of my time thinking about. These are my goals and plans as follows; (1). Set a Goal for Grades in Each Class– Even though I want to do my best in each class I have to consider some subjects are harder than others and each instructor is different. Nevertheless, I must set a realistic goal for the grade I think I can earn by working hard, and invest a reasonable amount of time working toward this goal. Some courses are just harder, or more applicable to the intended career path, than others, and setting a specific grade goal can help to prioritize effectively. (2). Plan Homework/Study Times for Every Course– At the beginning of each five weeks, try to plan out specific time blocks for each class throughout the week, and hold ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. The Importance Of Goals And Academic Goals In Education Different plants grow in different environments. Their differences are accommodated by their environment. There should be an understanding that students are the same way. Each student thrives in different environments of learning. Alicia is a sixth grade student who is not thriving in her environment. She refuses to participate and becomes anxious at the thought of school. Academically, Alicia struggles to coherently express her thoughts, and she becomes lost in mathematical problems. Alicia is not thriving in her environment. By looking into the specifics of Alicia's behavior and academic goals, one can see how she will be able to meet her goals and flourish in the classroom. Alicia is a bright student, but part of her hardships lie in certain behaviors that distract her and distance her in school. One example, would be Alicia's reluctance to answer questions in class and putting her head down on the desk when she is called upon. In order to focus on this lack of participation, her first behavior goal would be, "Given a short, daily one–on–one meeting with her teacher to organize and mentally prepare for the day, Alicia will participate in class three times each day without being called on, as evaluated by the classroom teacher through a data tracking chart daily." Breaking this goal down, the first half of the goal would be the modification and accommodation Alicia will receive. PBIS World provided different interventions for students that struggle in participation. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Personal Goals For Special Education Someone interested or working in special education entails a lot of skill, tolerance, and training, but is known as one of the most satisfying jobs for the right individual. For myself, I figured out that I am not the right individual for this career. However, special education applies to students who are have various degrees of learning disabilities and require special attention by teachers, psychologist, aides, paraprofessionals, and so on. It is imperative to know that as a special educator you will be responsible for the educational needs of children with a wide range of disabilities. These children will need a variety of different services, changes and accommodations in their educational experiences. Knowledge of each type of disability and the specific needs of the children with that disability are vital if you plan to be involved in the field of special education. The numerous groups of disabilities are clearly defined in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004. A special education teacher is unique in that they can fit many different roles in the educational environment. Though, each of these different roles involves a variety of responsibilities and functions. A special education teacher needs to understand these responsibilities can only help them become more familiar with the role and increase the chances for success. There are many practical strategies that are effective in a special education classroom. It is honestly up to the classroom and special education teacher to make sure that the appropriate strategies are being used properly and to assist individual learning styles. It is recommended that the proper approached be used, with visual, auditory, kinesthetic and tactile for success. The next step is to focus on the classroom environment. It's significant to seat the students in an area that is free from distraction. A teacher must remove any redundant materials from the student's desk that will reduce distractions. Only things that should be on their desk is educational material. Students should have check lists to help them keep organized. Nothing excites kids more than checking off something they have completed. Allowing the students to take breaks will help them to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Education Is A Important Life Goal Education is a very important life goal to many people, I do not people believe that a lot of individuals would disagree with this statement. As one goes through school they may face several obstacles to overcome. It is vital that parents, educators, and other caregivers that play a significant role in a child's life. A child needs of these people to help them in their educational goals from birth to adulthood. Earlychildhood inclusion means the standards, policies, and implements that provision the accuracy of infants and young children families, regardless of skills, to take part in a wide–ranging actions and settings as full participants of people, groups, and culture. (DEC/NAEYC, 2009). I believe that if everyone works together following these guidelines all children will have a successful education. We as educators have to find strategies to use in the classroom for the meet the diversity of all children. For example, disability, foreign, minorities and any other child. In this paper, I will discuss strategies, suggestions and adjustments that is a part of the early childhood inclusion. I believe that all children should be able to be engaged into the same classroom settings. If a child has a disability I feel that there are assistive devices to help accommodate them to need their needs in the classroom. For example, Assistive devices are products and tools that can make individuals lives easier. There is a lot of equipment to help the student out in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The End Goal Of Education Abdul Tariq Moses English 105 Leslie Doyle November 25, 2014 Essay 4 Draft one What is the end goal of education in today's society? Why do students feel the need to cheat on tests even if they have studied? I believe the answer is because the grades we get have become more valuable than the education we received. In today's world, education is strictly consumerist based and it is working directly inverse of what education is supposed to do. Education is should to help facilitate the development of citizenship, stimulate personal growth or self–improvement, occupational preparation, and bring intellectual purposes such as the expansion of mathematical and reading skills. It should also be used to ease the assimilation of immigrants; economic purposes such as job preparation; and social purposes such as the development of social and moral responsibility. Unfortunately, we have perverted the simple idea of advancement and made it as such that everything we do must have a dollar sign right next to it. Or to put it another way, nothing can ever be done without first paying the middle man. This is not how we are meant to grow as individuals. We should not be studying something because of the potential salary. We should be pursuing these subjects because they stimulate and excite us to learn more about our field of interests. • 6. Special Education Career Goal My career goal is to obtain a master's degree in elementary education by the end of Fall 2016 in order to start teaching by the beginning of Spring 2017. Upon completion of the dual certification track, I will receive elementary (K–6), special education (ESE K–6), and ESOL endorsements. Before entering graduate school, I always believed these certifications would prepare me for teaching more than if I had started teaching immediately after graduation. Today, I still hold this belief to be true, for I have opportunities now to closely practice, implement, and refine teaching skills, strategies, and qualities that I learned as an undergraduate in a real school setting. I am also able to work closely alongside teachers who have experience working with students with identified disabilities and experience the different behavioral responses that students with identified disabilities may exhibit. As a first year intern this semester, I even sat in on an EPT (Evaluation and Planning Team) meeting regarding whether or not a student in my first grade classroom should receive a 504 Plan that I did not get to ... • 7. Goals Of Higher Education The general public of the United States believes greatly in the higher education system. For many graduating high school students, the goal is to become enrolled and graduate from college. In order to determine whether the education system works, one must determine if students who attend college gain from entering, but more so from leaving college. The American higher education system functions very well and accomplishes its goal. But throughout the country there are many goals that the system of higher education sets for itself, as well as set by the general public. Colleges have very many goals that they have set out to accomplish. The United States hopes to have more people attend universities, to increase diversity within higher education, and to make college affordable. In the United States the population with a college degree has increased throughout the years as a goal of the United States to have a more educated population of more diverse backgrounds. While the cost does not deter individuals from enrolling in institutions of higher education a large portion of the population would not be able to afford college without the help form financial assistance. It is important to note that a portion of the groups that are included in higher education consist of distance education, and two–year colleges, private, public, and for–profit In creating the tier system of higher education universities are able to give options to students in order to better prepare students for a ... Also, it is my duty as a future educator to empower students in a process that allows them to develop their passion, compassion, drive, critical thinking skills, and orientation towards wisdom for timely action. An education and the affect I will have on my students will place their empty minds with a more open one. I will instill in them, an education is the key to life and it opens many doors. Great learning environments help children enhance their skills and ensure they are ready for the next educational phase. In addition, love and nurture is important. Every child wants to feel loved. My goal is to provide my students with love and care because I know this this will help them become strong, independent individuals as they progress throughout life. Discipline does not always mean paddling a child. I hope I am able to give a prep talk, a walk down the hall, or place the child in time–out for 5–10 minutes and if all fails, a phone call home will be made. However, children often learn from their mistakes. I will ensure these needs are met by making sure my learning environment is comfortable enough for all my students to ask questions without being afraid. I will show my students that I care not only about them, but their education as a whole. • 10. My Educational Goals And Personal Goals Of College Education As young children you are always asked what do you want to do when you grow up. Well being grown up is just around the corner and people have to decide what they want to do with the rest of your life and many different answers arise; doctor, nurse, or engineer. I for one aspire to be a teacher. When asked why be a teacher I explain that I feel I have the personal qualities and the inspiration to better the next generation of minds. As this is coming closer to become reality the goal at this point is to get the best college education so that I will be able to achieve this goal of being a teacher. Having multiple qualities of a teacher is very important, I posses the ability to be organized, time efficient and eager to teach the next generation of kids. Being an organized person in general is far different from being an organized teacher. This entails having everything in its place and it could be found by anyone at any time. This helps the students it allows the students to have all their work ready and this allows learning to become easier and more efficient. Being time efficient in all walks of life is very important because always being on time shows what kind of person you are. Being on time in the classroom allows you to get all the learning that is needed down so that the students are able to get the most out of there education that they need. However, I am positive and strive to meet my own expectations as a human being and as a member of a democratic community. However, a democratic community does not imply that everyone in the community has an equitable life. Therefore, some of us are less fortunate and have less opportunities to reach our goals. Nonetheless, as a human beings we all have the potential for growth, we only need that little or big extra help, depending on the individual's circumstances. As a consequence, everyone in the ideal society, becomes just because as human beings we all aim for happiness. In order to contribute to this ideal, I plan to play appropriately the role that I have chosen in my community. That is to serve as a facilitator and as guidance for my students to meet as many educative experiences as possible, as Dewey would say. In a way, use those previous experiences to shape their desire for learning. I do understand that some of the previous experiences might have been miseducative, and it is there where I will play the best role as a teacher to change their perspective towards education (Dewey., 272). I pretend to use combination of Plato's virtues; wisdom, courage, temperance, and justice to reach every single student in my classroom. I will use wisdom to find the best way possible to figure out each student to better serve them. I will implement courage when a difficult time comes and my intervention is required. I will pick that courage and speak against any injustice that there might be present during my practice. Temperance requires me to be able to control my actions, which brings me to the idea of reasoning, if one is capable of reasoning one is more likely to act justly. Justice is what our system of education most needs; teachers capable to provide an equitable education, even for those less fortunate, by being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. My Goals In School Education College has always been a dream for me. Growing up neither one of my parents attended school. Not to say they haven't had successful careers but I saw they struggles of finding a job without a degree. I knew that to pursue my dream school was crucial. My parents had never given me an option on whether or not to go to school. School had been in steeled in me since as little kid. Through school my love of kids grew. I decided at an early age that I wanted to be a teacher. I have followed that passion all the way through the years. I am currently pursuing my dream at Austin Community College. I plan on transfer to a University after getting my basics done. I am still undecided about where I may transfer too. My decision to go to school has been my biggest priority. I want to go to school so I have something to live for have a job I enjoy and change the world by touching children's hearts. My childhood education experience hasn't been the easiest. Growing up in Las Vegas, the education wasn't always the best. I always struggled in school but never had any of the support to learn the material. I think that having these problems in my younger days really affected the rest of my schooling. I never really knew the standards. I made my way through school by faking knowing the standards. Now, that I am in college I am struggling with not knowing some of the standards. Throughout the years I had to learn many lessons. In elementary school I learned that it's okay to ask questions, ... • 13. Personal Essay On Education And The Goal Of Education "The goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create men who are capable of doing new things," stated by Jean Piaget. Education serves many purposes; it helps a child open their eyes to the world, it provides curiosity and determination for a young adult, and it can provide middle age adults and elders with a spark of belonging and hope. To be able to achieve these purposes, the process of education must start at a young age. Singing the ABC's to an infant, reading to a toddler, encouraging writing and math skills are a few steps towards all the possibilities a person could have in life. The first purpose of education is opening a child's eyes to the world around them. I believe in order for a child to be fully immersed in education, the parents, and the teachers, must be fully dedicated to make a lasting impact on a child. The parents need to start teaching the child at a young age and help the child strengthen their abilities throughout the years. This is similar to what a teacher needs to do. However, teachers have the tough, and wonderful, job of filling a child up with new information as well as strengthening their current abilities. Incidentally, the home environment a child grows up in and the classroom environment are vitally important for a child's education. For instance, if a parent does not take on the role of a teacher in the early ages, the child will be behind the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Goals For My Education At Ccu 3 Goals for My Education at CCU I have had a lifetime goal to attend college, it just didn't happen early in life. When I first came to CCU, there was no doubt that getting my bachelors in early childhood would be my major. My passion has always been young children. It started when I babysat as a young teenager and has continued in my life as a preschool teacher. Education is constantly changing: therefore, I feel I need to have more knowledge and wisdom to be the best teacher possible. Education is by far one of the most important tools to have a successful life. With diligence, I want to be a leading educator and to be a gateway for my students to learn. It's exhilarating how many lives a teacher will touch each day. A teacher has the power to reach out and make learning a positive and memorable experience for every child. Furthermore, teachers are one of the first caregivers for young children. Although I am not at the beginning of my career, while at CCU, I will grow in faith, help and learn from others, and strive to graduate with honors. The first goal I have is to understand the scriptures in the Bible and grow in my faith. When I started to look at colleges, I didn't even think about attending a Christian college. • 15. The Goals Of Education And Becoming A Teacher Becoming a teacher is so much more challenging than people perceive it to be. Most candidates looking to go into teaching have not considered why they are going into the profession in the first place. Many have been pushed in the direction of teaching or haven't figured out what else they want to do and they end up here. There are all different qualities that make up the foundation of the teaching experience such as passion, commitment, responsibility, patience and communication. In my life, I want to accomplish making a difference in the world by helping children use their thinking and communicating skills in order to grow and develop themselves by dreaming big and working hard. Studying Education and entering the teaching profession will help me accomplish this goal not only for my life but for the children's too. As a child, working and playing with little kids has always been a huge passion of mine. Growing up, I always looked after and protected my little brother. Once we began to get older and he was able to watch over himself at times, I began providing child care by babysitting other parent's children. Working and helping children are such a big part of my life and will always be. My summer job at an amusement park has all different camps and schools that come every single day so they're always around me. My favorite part of working with kids is that they are all so different and unique in their own way. It's fascinating getting to know each one of them ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My goals after college are to end my college years with my Bachelors of Science in biology with a pre dental profession from Bowling Green State University. Even though the paradox of big goals is that the more potential they have to change our lives, the more paralyzing our fears can become is a big factor and still continues to play a big part, and for me thats one thing I want to overcome and prove wrong. • 17. The Goals Of My Education And My Philosophy Of Education Truly, education has been very important since my youth. At beginning, school was not an interest to me, due to the different things that was impacting me. Growing up, learning was the last thing on my mind, because I wanted to stay home and watch television, and do things a child would do. However, when school started for me, things began to change for me. I began to start learning things that I did not recognize. Throughout my fifth grade year, my grades began to look very good, from a C to a B, in which this motivated me to seek even higher grades. My father and mother encouraged me to pursue higher grades. Third, biblical principle: #34, "People live up or down to the expectation of others" (Cox, n.d., p. 3). We live up to the expectation of other people praise, especially when you are young. So, it worked for me because it motivated me to do even better. "No man that warreth entagleth himself with the affairs of this life: that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier" (II Tim. 2:4, KJV). In my future vocation as an educator, my intention is to have an instructor, parent relationship as well as encourage, and motivate students to be the very best that they can be. In addition, throughout my learning experience, I had desired to become a teacher myself. Even my grandfather knew of my fate as being a teacher, and then he went out and bought me a chalkboard, so that I can help teach the children of our community. Fourth, biblical principle that is applicable: # 42, "Choice was an inborn motivation" (Cox, n.d., p. 3). Although, at first my focus was not on school and learning, but it was my inborn motivation that caused me to pursue knowledge, the process of education. Through this motivation I started seeking higher learning to become a teacher. "Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse" (Deut 11:26–28, KJV). Education has been a blessing to me. At first in my primary phase, I felt that it was a curse, but it has been a termodouse blessing. I will have the opportunity to be a blessing to others. In my academic journey many of my teachers have been up to the standard, which has impacted my life to be academically ready. According to Gutek (2011) education ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. Goals Of Education Societal Goals of Education The goals we set for today's education will have a lasting impact on future society. Society invests in public education in order to reach their societal goals. These goals directly inform what and how we teach in public education as well as how we organize the institution. Lastly society hopes that education will shape students into active community members on local and national levels. I will argue that societal goals of education are to produce an equal well educated population that is prepared for future endeavors. I will demonstrate that public education is directly linked to society's aims by creating active citizens. Providing Knowledge and Skills Public education provides knowledge and social skills to all. The basic skills commonly associated with education are the three R's: reading, writing, and 'rithmetic. While these skills are foundational to extending learning they are not the only skills our schools provide. Basic learning such as reading, writing, and math are offered throughout the elementary levels. As students progress through their education and reach secondary school, the skills become more based off of society's needs. Public education requires high school students to take a certain amount of sciences, math, and government classes along with their English courses. Skill sets taught during these classes go beyond the curriculum to develop students' self–management, decision making, problem–solving, understanding of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. My Goals For Education In Education It is my conviction that the meaning of life does not dwell in the length of time that one can live or the material abundance that one can acquire, but in the richness and the wonderfulness of life itself. With the increase of my age, many things in my life have changed. But one thing remains constant, that is, I will consistently insist on doing what I like to do and hope that my endeavors can be valuable to the life of others. I see this as the only way whereby I can realize the value of my life. My undergraduate study focused on economics and I achieved remarkable scholastic performance in this field. My GPA is 3.44 (my GRE score is 2020 and TOEFL–––– ). For four consecutive years of my undergraduate study, I received scholarships for my distinguished academic performance. Due to my equally prominent performance in extracurricular activities I was conferred on the Outstanding Student in Campus Activities. However, honestly speaking, my real interest lies not in economics, but in education. Ever since I was a primary school student, I had cherished a strong desire for a teaching career exemplified by my teachers. In the actual teaching career that I embarked on upon my graduating from university, I have become increasingly aware that the existing educational conditions in China are far from satisfactory. Our country was founded by men who designed the constitution so that it could be amended to accommodate changing political and social climates. These models are the Common–School model, the Sorting–Machine model, and the High–Stakes testing model. The Common–School model is one in which the school system is set up in order to allow all students an equal education. The disparities between social classes would, theoretically, be eliminated by this normalization. The Sorting–Machine model recognizes that all students are not created equal. Teachers, counselors, and standardized tests would be used to impartially "overcome the influence of family background" (Spring, 2012, p. 59). Finally, the High–Stakes testing model is based on the notion that schools can "give everyone an equal chance to learn and to be tested without cultural bias" (Spring, 2012, p. 63). Standardized tests are used for all forms of advancement and placement from grade–level promotions to professional credentialing. These models are used side–by–side, to some degree, in our 21st century implementation of public education. Obstacles in Achieving Educational Goals Throughout the history of public education, there have been barriers to the equality of opportunity philosophy. Thomas Jefferson's proposal and Horace Mann's implementation of public schools excluded non–citizens like blacks, women, and Native Americans. Next, an increase in immigration and industrialization widened cultural and economic differences between students. The greatest obstacle to equal education

The Importance Of Learning Goals For Positive Education Learning Goals: The long term and short term goals are closely linked in this ILP (expect long term goal 3), and they are designed in accordance to the curriculum's learning progression with adjustment based on Ayla's specific learning needs. While these goals are developed for Ayla, all of the targeted skills or resilience are critical for any individuals to succeed both in schools in their adult life, as individuals with better resilience can deal with depression effectively and learn from failures (Coles–Janess, & Griffin, 2009). Ability to concentrate and efficient time management are also skills that are universally critical, and even some adults may also need help with these goals. It is thus proposed that part of the intervention strategies developed for this ILP should be implemented school wide. This would not only enhance Ayla's learning progression but also benefit all students. A suggestion is to employ positive education, a pedagogy that have been used and proved effective in schools internationally (Larson, 2016). Positive education advocate the development of students' broad set of character strengths, virtues, and competencies, which also support students' wellbeing. The actual plan for positive education will be developed based on the school's culture, policies, and situation. Intelligence plus character– that is the goal of true education." Education is teaching the whole person; not just the intellectual side, but also the social and emotional side. Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which students gain the skills necessary to recognize and manage all their emotions, build relationships, solve interpersonal problems, and make effective and ethical decisions. The significance of SEL continues to grow in the context of policy debates concerning school improvement and individual student achievement. A review found that SEL programs improved students' performance in the classroom, not just their emotional performance. Specifically, they found an increase of 11% to 17% in test scores (1). SEL has just recently made it into mainstream educational curriculum, but at many schools, including Stevenson, they haven 't found an efficient way to asses the SEL standings of individual students. Tools to assess social and emotional competency is broad and includes instruments that look at population–level changes in social–emotional constructs, program outcomes, and process outcomes. The measures come from multiple frameworks such as youth risk and protective factors and youth developmental assets. • 37. The Goal Of Education And The Goals Of Public Education The goals of public education revolve around three main areas that include; the political goals of schooling, the social goals of schooling, and the economic goals of schooling. These goals were placed with the idea that all children should receive public education whether you were poor or rich and schools focused on teaching about political views and the law to avoid conflicts. Schools were the focus of many hopes for political, social, and economic improvement. A persistent educational goal of school was to give everyone the same chance to pursue wealth, which is known as equality of opportunity. Equality of opportunity is the idea that individuals compete with one another with all participants starting at the same point, which Horace Mann referred to as the, "great balance wheel of society" (Spring, 2016, p. 66). Schools provide everyone with an equal opportunity to pursue an education and wealth; however, I believe there are factors that alter that equilibrium. Mann believed that equality of opportunity would reduce tensions between the rich and the poor. It allowed the poor to believe that regardless of their circumstance their children had an equal chance to compete with children of rich families (Spring, 2016 p. 67).
