(Must be completed by Friday Nov. 9th)
Durante la última semana del semestre, habrá evaluaciones temáticas y prepararás el portafolio de
aula. Cada día, habrá evaluaciones y tendrá tiempo para organizar tus trabajos.
Evaluación de escribir – DUEantes de la clase el viernes 9 noviembre
Using your best proofreading, spelling, and writing skills, compose a 1-2 page essay in
SPANISH delineating the different ways in which we, as people, come to understand the idea
of ‘love’. Base your essay on observations from the works we have studied in class and, with
the help ofthe organization chart, analyze, compare, and contrast the main characters,
themes, types of love, and historical/social perspectives and how they impact the
characters/our interpretations of the idea of love.
* Practice: Review your skills in grammar, review this theme’s readings and think about the
different types of love.
(If essay is typed, include accent marks and special characters...if hand written, please hand
in neat and organized product.)
****Do NOT hand in a “Google translator special”. They read awkwardly and it’s generally
evident you abused the help of an otherwise useful resource. Use ‘wordreference.com’ to
help you figure out the most correct way to say something if you don’t know.

Listening to an excerpt read by your teacher, answer questions based on what you hear.
* Practice: Listen to Spanish language being spoken, review all posted readings for your
ability to comprehend them as they would be heard.
Evaluación de leer – la hacemos durante la clase el viernes 9 noviembre
Reading an excerpt provided by your teacher, answer questions based on what you
understand. Vocabulary / context clues will be provided but be conscious of cognates,
vocabulary, and grammatical structures with which you are already familiar.
* Practice: Look through recent readings and check your comprehension, review posted
readings.
Evaluación de hablar - la hacemos en la clase el lunes 5 - el jueves 8 noviembre
Use your Spanish-speaking skills to communicate as efficiently as you can for at least 2
minutes about one of the following topics, chosen during your evaluation by your teacher:
 ¿Qué harías por el amor? ¿Qué tan importante es el amor?
(What would you do for love?Howimportantislove?)
 ¿Cuál es la historia más interesante que leímos en esta tema y por qué es la mejor?
(Which is the best story we’ve read in this ‘theme’ and why is it the best?)
 Si tienes hijos en el futuro, ¿Qué los enseñarás del amor?
(If you have kids in the future, what will you teach them about love.)
*Practice: Use these topics as a guide and organize your thoughts in case you are asked to
converse about any of these 3 topics.
* YOU will not decide which topic to talk about. Señor Giampaolo will randomly assign
your topic. Do NOT prepare only for one specific topic.*
