Analyze Learners- Special Education 1st Graders

State Objectives- My first grade class will accurately know the chronological order of all twelve months by the end of the week after learning and practicing through various ways with 90% accuracy.

Select Methods, Media, and Materials- Singing, dancing, creating/coloring a calendar, interactive classroom calendar, flash cards with pictures.

Utilize Media and Materials- I hope that the singing and dancing will make it easier for some of the students to memorize the months, and hopefully a good way to practice even while at home. With
creating/coloring their own calendar I will make it relevant to them by including their birthdays along with close relatives and friends, and holidays important to them. The interactive calendar (cork-board with
velcro) will be used during class time, with the aid of a helper, to practice the correct order of the months, all holidays and seasons, all of the students and my birthdays. The flash cards with pictures could be used
during down time, the pictures would help make the connection with the seasons.

Require Learner Participation- All students would be required to sing and dance, I would always have a helper stand up front to "lead" the class during. They would be responsible for putting their families
birthdays on the calendars as well as their own, and to also color the entire calendar giving each month it's own color. Helpers would be assigned for the interactive calendar while the whole class told them where
things went (I would be sure to assign my ADHD students as my helpers to keep them involved, interested, and busy). Pairs would be made so that the students could take turns testing each other on the months
with the flash cards.

Evaluate and Revise- I would pull each student aside individually to practice with the flash cards to check their progress. I would orally test them individually and check their accuracy on their personal calendars.
I would give them two attempts to meet my expectations
