Baystate Medical Center is a 716 bed hospital that is a designated Level 1 adult and Level 2 pediatric Trauma Center
located in Springfield MA. The staff provide state-of-the-art care to the multicultural population and is an independent
Magnet teaching hospital.
C6B Medical Surgical Unit 07-2001-2004
Complete assessment and care of the medical and surgical patient. Experience with PCA pain management, wound care,
wound VAC, chest tubes, central lines, chest tubes, A-lines, simple and complex dressings. Duties/experience included:
staff nurse and charge nurse, delegation of duties, patient assignment management, communication with other
disciplines to coordinate care and department needs.
Emergency Department 2004-Present
Rapid assessment and stabilization of persons of all ages seeking medical care. Experience with trauma, cardiac arrest,
respiratory distress/failure, sepsis. IV insertion, medication administration, patient education Function as both a staff
and lead/charge/triage nurse in the pediatric department, management of assignment(s) and appropriate delegation of
tasks.

Skills
I act as preceptor to new staff as well as visiting nursing students. I am a resource within my department and
continuously look for ways to improve patient care process while being cognizant of budget. I teach IV scalp vein access,
pediatric foley catheterization, and have developed a burn packet to standardize the care of burn victims. I hold the
following certifications: CPEN, PALS, ENPC, TNCC, ACLS, CPR.
