Currently recognized as DRH Emergency Department Stroke
Champion. I was nominated by the stroke director at DRH, after going
through very rigorous training and education on various stroke
matters. I completed the formal stroke training and received all 4 level
certification from Duke medicine. In this process,learned how to
assess the patients with stroke like symptoms, safely transfer the
patients to CT scan, how to comfortably administer the TPA. Also
learned how to provide education to my peers on Stroke and
dysphagia screen matters. Attended numerous stroke meetings and
planning sessions on how to develop better care for stroke patients. I
developed great deal of skills and confidence in this area of patient
care.
● Unit Preceptor, March2016-present
Serve as preceptor for new nurses to DRH ER. Supervise their
transition to the department by providing mentorship and guidance
over patient care and required nursing skills for 8-12 weeks.
● Ultrasound Guided Peripheral IVs, January 2016-present
Credentialed sonographer to aid in insertion of peripheral intravenous
access for patients with difficult to visualize peripheral veins.
Completed a 4 hour didactic course with Duke instructor and worked

with a preceptorto successfully insert over 10 IVs with ultrasound
guidance.

First runner up in March 2015 and nominated to it multiple times prior

Chosen by co-workers on July 2014 within less than one year of

● Worked as a CNA at Duke University Hospital’s pediatric
hematology and oncology unit for more than five years. Assisted in
patient hygiene care, patient vital signs. Exposed to pediatric care and
learned how to provide the best care for the patients and their loved
ones. This rich and rewarding 5 years of CNA experience inspired and
motivated me to pursue a nursing career. I have been recognized as

● Worked for 5 years at Harmony Foundation, a non-governmental

PASIAD
● PASIAD is a Turkish NGO that operates in South East Asia. I worked
as an educatorand relief worker in their Myanmar and Malaysia field
offices. My primary responsibilities entailed
● Leading youth empowerment projects and literacy campaigns in
rural areas mostly targeting the education and empowerment of
girls who have no access to public schooleducation.
● Helped and organized humanitarian and education efforts in
multiple women shelters, orphanages and soup kitchens.
