To Employer,
I am a motivated, trained Nursing Assistant with 4 years hands-on training and clinical experience
working with a variety of diverse patients with complex needs. I feel confident that my background,
strong bedside manner and skill in providing high quality care makes me an ideal candidate for any available
position.
Throughout my short but experienced nursing career I have had the opportunity to assist many
different patients in varying contexts of care. My current job is at Embracia Aged Care, whilst I have
learnt a significant amount about patient care here, I am looking to further my clinical experience in
hospital patient care in order to prepare for my career as a registered nurse. Aside from my current job I
have extensive clinical experience that involved work in intensive care, emergency, theatre,
cardiothoracic, psychiatric, maternity and neonatal wards. This also included irreplaceable experience in
oncology, rehabilitation, neurosurgery, neurology and haemodialysisunits. I believe my work experience
and student placements in hospitals including Princess Alexandra, Holy Spirit, Royal Brisbane and
Redcliffe would serve me well working with Queensland health.
I aim to provide the highest possible quality of care to patients by utilizing my knowledge on ethically informed
practice and therapeutic communication skills. My focus is to maintain the dignity of all patients in
times of healthcare distress by promoting patient autonomy. I have a strong passion for helping people
improve their health. Consequently, I am a cheerful person that is always seeking to promote
the positive healthcare journeys of my patients.
My dedication to delivering high quality nursing care to every individual I serve is evidenced by the
following:
Regular compliments from patients, staff and university facilitators on my provision of high quality,
all-inclusive patient care.
Studious and punctual work ethics.
High respect for culturally linguistic and diverse cohorts of patients.
Systematic patient care informed by evidence-based practice involving; showering, toileting,
dressing, feeding, re-positioning, mobility and therapeutic communication.
In addition to being a third year Bachelor of Nursing student at Australian Catholic University, I hold
CPR, first aid and basic life support certificates. I have a National Police Certificate, hold a blue card
and all of my national vaccinations are up to date. I have also continued to pursue additional training
opportunities through my current workplace Embracia aged care home, where I attend regular
information and training sessions on manual handling, and psychiatric and physical health conditions.
In summary, I feel that I am a strong candidate for any available position because I have the knowledge and
experience that you are looking for. If you require further information on my professional experience and
suitability for this position please refer to my resume and letter of reference attached. I would welcome the chance
to speak with you more about my background and about this position in Queensland healthcare. Thank you for
your time and consideration. I hope to be in communication soon.
Kind Regards,
Samantha Hallam.
