•Provide eye care for underprivileged people throughout the world
• Provide additional clinical experience to students, thereby enhancing their
optometric education
• Expose participants to the value of humanitarian service
• Act as ambassadors on behalf of the U.S., Optometry,& Pacific University
• Develop a broader world view by exposure to other cultures
• Spread good will among mankind
AMIGOS accomplishes these goals by embarking on several eye care missions to
foreign countries each year. AMIGOS strives to provide a resource for continued
care within the communities it serves. This plugs the patients into the existing
health care system, and perpetuates a stronger health care program.
