The Quiz On Terms Of Party Alignment Was The Democratic Party
The results on the quiz in terms of party alignment was the Democratic Party. The quiz showed I
was in agreement with the Democratic Party more than the other parties with a match of 87%. I also
had high percentages in the Green Party, Libertarians, and the Constitution Party. The reason I have
high percentages for the other parties as well is because they all have different views on all the
different issues and how they approach the problems, so I agree with some of the issues they are for
or against or even what they are doing to be for or against them. I was not expecting to get the
results of being more in agreement to the Democratic Party for many reasons. I was surprised
because my family is more a part of the Republican Party and ... Show more content on

After doing the quiz I can see the issues on the oil industry and the military that need to be dealt
with. These issues are important in whole, but personally to me they are not the most important
issues to take care of first. The issues I feel are more important are personal to me or are important
to the people who are close to me who have maybe gone through or dealt with some of these issues.
Overall on the issue of abortion rights, Democrats are pro–choice. This issue was thought to be
resolved by Supreme Court in the case of Roe v. Wade. No matter if abortion is illegal or not,
women will do what they want concerning their bodies even if that means going to an underground
abortion operation, which in most cases are botched and the woman having the unbelievably
dangerous procedure dies. The Roe v. Wade case, Supreme Court thought out a legal balance
between the rights of women and also the rights of the developing fetuses. A couple of these legal
balances; Before a fetus can live outside the womb, which is the 1st and 2nd trimester, or 6 months,
women have a right to choose whether to abort or not, and after a fetus is viable, states may prohibit
all abortions, as long as they make exceptions where a woman 's life or health are in danger (). In
some nations early abortion is legal where certain religions predominate. Democrats respect the
views of others who believe it is immoral and is very over to debate over the issue.

Pro-Consent Essay
The three main aspects of politics, religion and the women's right to choose go into the different
arguments over the debates of abortion. One of the movements which is pro–life which is against the
legalization of abortion. Another main movement is pro–choice which believes that 'if' the fetus is a
person then the women can't if the abortion. However, pro–consent believes that the women have a
right to choose to consent to the condition of pregnancy or obtain an abortion (McDonagh, 23). Pro–
consent supports the rights of all living beings. People in the general public in non–similar situations
should not have a right to decide a woman's right to abort a child. A woman may choose an abortion
if she is unable to care for a child ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reality becomes that all of Americans and most Catholics are in favor of legal abortions.
However, " 81% want abortion reduction" which seems odd; but proves how religious views
influence politics (Cahill, 188). In the Supreme Court ruling Roe vs. Wade made abortion legal
because of "single minded determination" being questioned. Meanwhile, that may be the very thing
that will reverse it (Cahill, 188–89). Political candidate have to relate to the catholic bipartisan party
in order to win an election. This undermines the idea of the separation of church and state.
The general public believes that no child should live in unsafe circumstances. That means no fetus
should be knowingly born into an unhealthy environment. George Tiller stated that, " Abortion is a
matter of survival for women"(Young, 416). For example, a father raped and impregnated his nine–
year–old daughter. The clarity that the nine–year–old would be unfit mother and not developed
enough to go through pregnancy is evident (Young, 416–17). This coincides with Judith Jarvis
Thomson's opinion of Pro–Consent.
A very vocal anti–abortion protester stated for a video camera that he believed all fetuses should be
born, although, he was divorced and legally found as an unfit parent (Young, 419). This is a prime
example of unknowledgeable activists who argue that women should be forced to keep the babies by
the state should take care of the babies they could not support. However, a

Staff Analysis : Dave Jones And Dave Verden
Staff Analysis
Statement of the Problem
Two college roommates, Nelson Jones and Dave Verden, started Jones Electrical Distribution (JED)
in 1999. JED acts as the middleman, purchasing products from manufacturers and selling to general
contractors and electricians. JED purchases products, ranging from controllers to signal devices and
fuses, from nearly 100 different suppliers. JED's customers mostly use the products purchased in the
construction and repair of commercial and residential buildings. As a result, JED's sales follow the
seasonality of its customers' businesses, which are most active in the spring and summer months.
Jones also faces strong competition from national distributors, home centers, and other supply
stores. Jones has grown sales volume by competing on price and incentivizing an aggressive sales
force. Jones, to compete on price, has tried to minimize operating expenses by paying the salesforce
heavily based on commission. Additionally, Jones has taken advantage of the 2% discount offered
by its suppliers for quick payments. Jones has also been proficient at demand forecasting and
inventory management, which has allowed him to satisfy his customers' needs with a moderate level
of inventory and stay in business in a competitive market.
Since 1999, Jones has turned JED into a profitable business operation, growing sales to $2.24
million and earning a net income of $30,000 in 2006. Although Jones has been successful over the
past several years, he has

Reproductive Rights : Pro Choice Vs. Pro Life Essay
Reproductive rights: Pro–choice vs. pro–life For more than 30 years, reproductive rights have been a
controversial topic in the United States pushing people into opposing views as pro–choice and pro–
life . In 1973, Roe v Wade granted the legal right for women to abort fetuses before they are viable
(Gostin & Reingold, 2016) . However in 1992, Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v
Casey gave states more rights to regulate abortions in a way to protect the mother and fetus (Gostin
& Reingold) . Gostin & Reingold stated that the 1992 law could protect and define the viability to
terminate pregnancy, but states could not make it difficult for women to obtain an abortion if they
wanted one . Although the issue has gone through years of legal battles, abortions still lie as
personal issues for individuals in society and the medical system . The variability in moral stances
about abortion in the medical system and the right of patients to receive fair care can be skewed
despite the laws in place (Birnbaum, 2014) . This paper, explores the ethical implication that
abortion carries including woman's rights and how they specifically apply in nursing . What is the
ethical dilemma? Pro–choice is generally the belief that an individual has the right to get a legalized
abortion . While Pro–life is the complete opposite, opposing abortion and euthanasia . According to
Mikolajczak and Bilewicz (2015), "Due to moral, religious, and cultural sensibilities, the topic of

Abortion Is Negatively Affecting Our Society Today
Abortion is negatively affecting our society today. Numerous people feel it is evil, because it kills an
unborn for no reason. Conversely, others believe that it is a woman's legal right to choose abortion,
especially in case of incest, rape, or health issues threatening life of a mother. To kill an unborn
using dreadful procedures is not only wrong for the doctors to perform, but it is also morally wrong.
How would you feel if someone took away your ability to live? Imagine not having any say in life
or death. Babies do not have a choice in their mother's womb. If a woman decides to abort her baby,
they cannot do anything about their life being taken away from them. A baby's whole future is
demolished.
There are many other alternative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many other families would love to raise the child as their own.
Another reason abortion is not a wise solution is the harm that is done to the mother. The mother's
life is at a high risk, and it affects her emotionally and physically. According to
Gómez–Lavín (2008–2013) "sixty five percent of women who abort suffer symptoms of post–
traumatic stress syndrome after undergoing the procedure." Many women regret getting an abortion.
This makes it a controversial issue. Abortion can also result in not being able to get pregnant in the
future. It can cause many sicknesses and even death. Abortion affects both victims in dangerous
ways. Women who get abortions are commonly seen as experiencing conflict over their abortion
decision, not fully accepting at an emotional level their own action, but feeling guilt, shame, and
ambivalence. According to Rosen, Hudson, & Martindale (1975) the discomfort with having
violated social mores, and a person 's consequent ambivalence about her sexual nature in general, if
very strong will probably preclude getting in touch with real self–completely, but women as patients
do wrestle with questions about abortion in itself.
Abortion is considered brutal murder. In 1982, Ronald Reagan stated: "Simple morality dictates that
unless and until someone can prove the unborn human is not alive, we must give it the benefit of the
doubt and assume it is (alive). And, thus, it should be entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of
happiness"

The Characteristics Of Abortion
Introduction
Abortion is a common procedure where a pregnancy is terminated by removing a fetus or an embryo
from the uterus (Edelman et al., 2003). In 2008, it was estimated that about 30% of women between
the ages of 15 and 44 would have an abortion by the age of 45 due to an increase of about 200,000
abortions from 2000 to 2008 (Jones et al., 2011). However, in 2014, only about 1.5% of women
between the ages of 15 and 44 had an abortion (Jones et al., 2017). There was a 14% decrease in
abortions from 2011 to 2014, totally over 900,000 abortions performed in the United Sates alone
(Jones et al., 2017). Even though the abortion rate is declining, the abortion rate is still high.
The characteristics of the women who received abortions changed in correlation to a fewer number
of women receiving abortions. In 2008, 42% of the women who received abortions had family
incomes below 100% of the federal poverty level; however, in 2014, a significant increase of almost
50% of the women who received abortions had family incomes below 100% of the federal poverty
level (Jerman et al., 2017). Adolescents made up a smaller portion of the data, totally about 18% in
2008 to 12% in 2014. This shows that young women with low income have a higher risk for
abortions due to a higher risk of unintended pregnancy.
The topic of abortion is controversial and an ongoing debate of whether it is morally right to
terminate a pregnancy. People have strong feelings for or against abortions, which leads

Abortion Vs Abortion
Abortion has been debated constantly since it became legal for women to get an abortion without
having been raped, or placed in serious harm due to the pregnancy. However, two main arguments
have arisen: pro–life and pro–choice. Pro–choice argues based on the benefits for and harms to the
mother, while pro–life argues based on benefits for and harms to the fetus. During both arguments,
physiological, moral, and psychological effects of abortion are considered on behalf of both the
mother and fetus; but one important person has not been considered: the father. Father's too are
affected by abortion. In this paper, I will argue that the Equal Rights Amendment passed in 1972,
which reads, "Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States
or by any State on account of sex (The Learning Network, 2012)." is being violated and that under
this amendment, men should be given equal say in the decision to abort.
A popular political argument for abortion is that it empowers women by giving them control over
their own life. The Supreme Court Justice for Planned Parenthood v. Casey said, "The ability of
women to participate equally in the economic and social life of the Nation has been facilitated by
their ability to control their reproduction live (Melling, 2017)." While this is true for women, what
about men? Fathers are under obligation by law to pay child support if a child is born despite his
intentions or desires to be a father after conception,

Parenthood Should Not Be Used For Fund Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood provides services to approximately 2.7 million people a year. Planned
Parenthood also receives an estimated $500 million of federal funding. Not only do they receive
federal funding, they also received about $250 million from other sources and raised approximately
$50 million in fees from their services. Tax dollars should not be used to fund Planned Parenthood
because there is a lot of controversy about the services that Planned Parenthood provides, many do
not agree with certain decisions Planned Parenthood makes, and there's a lot of debate about what
Planned Parenthood spends their money on. There has been plenty of talk about how much of the
services Planned Parenthood really provides. According to Planned Parenthood, the organization
only provides 3% of abortions to the 2.7 million women they service a year. (3) However, the Susan
B. Anthony List states that the organization provides 94% of abortions. (1) Both of these statistics
can be misleading though. The Washington Post states, "SBA List, which opposes abortion rights,
arrives at its 94% figure by comparing abortions to two other categories of services that are provided
to pregnant patients – or 'pregnancy services'" (Ye Hee Lee 1). In other words, the SBA List does not
account for the other services like, STD testing, adoption services, and contraception, that Planned
Parenthood provides. The Washington Post also notes, "The 3% figure that Planned Parenthood uses
is misleading, comparing

Influence of the Roman Theater on Cicero’s Oration Pro...
Influence of the Roman Theater on Cicero's Oration Pro Caelia By
Cicero's oration in defense of M. Caelius Rufus shows many substantive and stylistic borrowings
from the Roman Theater, particularly the comedies of the 2nd century b.c.e. This would scarcely
seem remarkable to Cicero, to employ such devices is only to make use of the tools of his trade, as a
practical and practicing rhetorician. In this case using the theater as a framing device to guide his
audience's response.
So too would the judgments and emotions existing in the cultural reservoir of Greco–Roman, or
Attic–Latin stage have met his division of purpose as he considered the permanent written speech,
he would set down in the wake of the trial, however it was decided. ... Show more content on

Cicero, by example of his own life takes a broad inclusive approach to Oratory. In a earlier
statement we encounter words which probably reflect his own view closely: But the fact of the
matter is that oratory is a much more considerable activity and depends on a far wider range of
different arts and branches of study, than people imagine (Cicero, Orator I 4,16).Particularly Cicero
seems interested in holding on to the orator's special sphere – the third branch of Philosophy life and
behavior of human beings which is to say, human nature (Cicero, Orator I 15, 69).
We hear of the orator's special strength – to rouse men's hearts to anger, hatred, and indignation
(Cicero, Orator I 12,53), a not dissimilar goal to that of the dramatist. We find that a speaker's job is
to ensure that the feelings of his audience are affected just the way he wants them to be (19, 87). His
Five Tasks of the orator (and to keep within the dignity of the theme) (Cicero, Orator I 38, 142–44)
given in a following paragraph, are suitable instructions for any playwright or actor. Even at the
beginning of On the Orator Cicero has one of his characters observe approvingly of the benefits to
be gained from the less serious art on regulation of expression, voice and movement of body. Cicero
has his character Antonius make an observation that the chief distinction between an actor speaking
and an orator is that the actor has more leeway. He is excused if he has

Essay on Abortion
Abortion is a very controversial subject that has been continually argued over for the past few years
and probably many years to come. The main controversy is should abortion be legalized? First
before we get into the many sides of abortion we must first define abortion. Abortion is the
destruction of the fetus or unborn child while the child is still in the mothers womb. This can be
done by almost anyone from the mother herself to back alley abortions and even to abortions by
clinics set up especially for this purpose.
There are two sides to this abortion topic the PRO–LIFE which is those who are against abortion
altogether and the PRO–CHOICE or those who believe it is the womans right to choose if she wants
to have an
abortion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A woman has been raped and made pregnant: "Oh, she's got to have an abortion." No
one has studied the rape and incest victims needs; abortion is presumed to fill her needs."
Various studies and research indicate that rape and incest victims fall into a high–risk category of
abortion. But what happens after a victim has an abortion? Jackie Baker a victim states: "I
soon discovered that the aftermath of my abortion continued a long time after the memory of my
rape had faded. I felt empty and horrible.
Nobody told me about the emptiness and pain I would feel deep within causing nightmares and deep
depressions. They all told me that after the abortion I could continue with my life as if nothing ever
happened." (Reardon 21–22) This is the story we hear from a lot of aborted women. Today in
our society it is believed by most people that it is the womans fault just as much as the mans fault, if
not more. many people think women are responsible for contributing to the rape itself. Then the rape
victims feel self–blame and guilt. And even then a rape or incest victims family members or close
friends may reinforce these negative feelings. Or they drop the problem because they don't know
how to talk about it.
We even see the same thing in the abortion experience. When a person becomes pregnant because of
rape or incest there is a

Abortion and Ethics

SOC120: Introduction to Ethics & Social Responsibility
Mr. Russell Tompkins

Abortion and Ethics In today's society, "abortion" has raised a lot of ethical controversy all over the
world.
The word "abortion," means "the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a
pregnancy." (Abortion, 2012) This may be performed for a number of reasons. There are also many
different methods of abortion. Abortion has divided people all over the world, and has caused people
to debate whether it is right for a woman to terminate her pregnancy or not. I will discuss some of
these issues as we go along. I will also, discuss some ethical reasoning about abortion, as well ...

What does pro–life and pro–choice mean? This stands for people with different options or view on
what is right or wrong. If an individual says that they are for pro–life, it means that they are against
abortion, and feel that it is morally wrong. These people believe that abortions are an act of murder
of a human life, and that the fetus is a living being inside the mother's womb. These people believe
that there are other organizations that can help you find someone who is willing and able to take
care of your child if you do not want it, or unable to take care of the child. They believe that there is
always an option besides the killing of your unborn child. To be pro–choice, means that it is up to
the woman to have an abortion or not, and if she decides to have an abortion then that is her decision
and her right as an individual and be free from judgment. "Pro–Choice is the responsibility to
yourself and the freedom to decide to take control of your own life process. Pro–Choice is not just
about reproduction but the freedom to decide your life course with the support and respect of others.
It represents power and pride in self." (FeministWomen'sHealthCenter, 2002) These people believe
that you have a right to do what you think is best for your family. If you think about it, you could
say that they were utilitarian's, that "given a set of choices, the act we should choose is that which

Pros And Cons Of Planned Parenthood V Casey
Planned Parenthood v. Casey, 505 U.S. 833(1992), was case reaffirming the Roe v.Wade decision. It
further challenged the constitutionally of several statues in the State of Pennsylvania
The Court's major decision upheld the constitutional right of a women to have an abortion while
changing standard for abortion restrictions. The difference between Roe v Wade and Planned
Parenthood v. Casey is that the Casey allows the State to regulate abortion rather than as in Roe v.
Wade the States could not regulate abortion in the first trimester. Under Casey the State can regulate
abortion in the first trimester or any point before viability. Also, the Court invalidated the necessity
for spousal notification of an abortion. The Court held that a women has a right right in an abortion
unchanged from the Roe v. Wade's decision. The Supreme Court also upheld that the states has an
interest in an unborn life and that at some point a women rights to an abortion can be restricted. The
Court further rejected the trimester designation as an undue burden and used the term viable as to
when the States can intervene in not allowing a women to have an abortion. Additionally, the
SupremeCourt upheld parental informed consent and also allow for informed consent of a women
seeking and abortion requiring a 24 hr waiting period. The States was also required to furnish the
women with information about abortion, in addition religious organization could provide
information that could counsel a women

The Issue That Faces Women Is Abortion
Description of the Problem
An important issue that faces women is abortion. With abortion laws constantly changing, women
are finding that they are a continuous target of sexism. Social work is relative to this subject because
often times social workers have to assist clients who are seeking or who have had an abortion. It is
very important that a social worker is knowledgeable about abortion rights and laws. This is critical
as it may become a part of your case. Women's health is equally as important as everyone's else's
rights. Instead of focusing on what is much more important, lawmakers have spent a great deal of
time focusing on ruling the reproductive rights of women.
Abortion rights for women are a constant challenge. Abortion became legal in the 1973 case of Roe
v. Wade by the supreme court. A woman then had the right to make choices about her own body.
This was all in connection with the ''right to privacy'' rights and the pro–choice side. The problem is
you have individuals that agree with ''pro–life and pro–choice.'' With that being said, the pro–life
activist believe that the pregnancy should not be terminated and the woman should give birth. Pro–
choice is when one believes that it's a woman's decision whether she wants to have a baby or not.
This ties into sexism because by taking control over women's health rights, you're limiting a
women's capabilities as a woman. With sexist thoughts, a woman's rights can easily be violated with
stereotypical thoughts and

Gaap Earnings Vs Non Gaap
Lately, it is becoming more and more common for companies to report their financials using Non–
GAAP earnings. "A non–GAAP financial measure is a numerical measure of an issuer's historical or
future financial performance, financial position, or cash flow that excludes amounts that are found in
GAAP financials" (SEC, 2002). Non–GAAP earnings are an alternative way of reporting the
performance of a company as opposed to GAAP earnings. Many companies often report non–GAAP
earnings alongside the required GAAP earnings. They claim that non–GAAP earnings more
accurately depicts what the company is going through and precisely shows their financials. A few
common examples of non– GAAP earnings are pro forma earnings, cash earnings, operating
earnings, and EBITA (SEC, 2002). Pro forma refers to earnings, which exclude non–recurring items
(SEC, 2001). It is regularly found that technology startups are responsible for a lot of the use of
non–GAAP earnings because these corporations remove certain items like taxes in their non–GAAP
accounting to turn loss into profit (Young 2013). Because of the lack of standardization and the
potential for creative accounting, it makes it difficult to draw relevant comparisons among
companies or draw meaningful information from these statistics. These reasons alone make the SEC
and investors very weary about the implementation of it. An example of a company that uses non–
GAAP earnings is Macy's. Being such a large company to report their

Just in time is focused on problem solving by reducing inventory and shining light on the quantity
and output. Instead of having extra inventory on hand it is more cost effective to try and be prepared
with only what the company is going to need to produce. The just in time layout is a way of
reducing waste, in many different forms, and creating more flexibility and consistency. At the end of
the first three quarters both models of my computers had thirty five extra units. The simulation
recommended having fifty as the highest amount of product to end up with. During the fourth
quarter I was able to adjust and only have twenty five of each model left on the shelf. I should have
tried to reduce my left over inventory more in the first three quarters, as the need to keep improving
and altering the product was there. I was not satisfied with the products I was producing until the
end of the fourth quarter. Therefore, at the end of the first three quarters I had to stop producing the
finished products entirely and sell the excess inventory to begin on the next model I was creating.
This type of approach took away from operational efficiency and also was not cost effective. The
just in time process was not applied to the simulation, but I wouldn't have tried to utilize it until I
was satisfied with the computer models we were creating. If the simulation would have continued I
could have used a just in time method to continue manufacturing the

Anna Quindlen Essay
Rhetorical Analysis
Anna Quindlen describes in the essay "Abortion is too Complex to Feel one Way About" the
different situation that we as a human race are put in everyday. She talks about the topic of abortion
in a way that one feels they have had to make the decision of whether or not a person is pro–choice
or pro–life. She uses references that are of different personal experiences in the essay that are vital
to the audience. Quindlen is writing to state her point that one should never put their self in this
situation because one should take the proper responsibility. In this paper you will read about the
conflict with abortion and what Quindlen thinks about this issue.

Evidence stated in this essay is less than what one would think because when this issue is usually
discussed the writer lets their emotion over run the issue. She uses her family enough to let her
audience know that she has a little credibility with the situation. Asking her husband a question
about what if she accidentally got what would he want her to do? He says "and waste a perfectly
good human being"(628)? He said this being sarcastic and really meaning that even though they
might struggle with having a third child that they would still keep it and love it as much as their
other children. She used her husband to show that the choice is not just for the female but for the
male also.
Her third strategy used is ambiguity. When legally we have the right to say yes but morally, is this
the right decision to make? The right to choose is a choice that she has already made but she chooses

Eassy On Abortion
The Right to Be Born "We must not be surprised when we hear of murders, of killings, of wars, of
hatred. If a mother can kill her own child, what is left but for us to kill each other." ~Mother Teresa
of Calcutta. Abortion is the act of purposely ending a pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo
before it can survive outside the womb. Abortion can either be spontaneous, commonly known as a
miscarriage, or induced, abortion is this case means induced abortion. Abortion has been practiced
since the beginning of times using sharp unsanitary tools such as sharpened objects, physical trauma
or other traditional methods. However, abortion had been banned or made illegal throughout history
everywhere in the world to control women and their reproduction (OBOS.) The 1973 Supreme
Court's ruling that legalized abortion in the United States is known as the Roe v Wade. It is a
landmark case that gave women the constitutional right to "kill" their unborn children under any
circumstances. Roe v wade, since then, has made the topic of abortion a very controversial topic in
American Politics. Abortion has Americans divided into two groups, Pro–choice, those who support
women's right to choose, and pro–life, those who are against abortion. Thousands of children die
every day without being born yet, how is this possible? Abortion. Abortion possesses a threat to
women's health, it is a medical and a social issue and it is one of the most profitable industries.

Undue Burden: Obstacles Against Women's Reproductive Rights
Undue Burden: Obstacles Against Women's Reproductive Rights The topic of women's reproductive
rights has become a major, controversial issue in today's society. Grounded in a history of opposition
for religious, political, and moral reasons, reproductive rights have only legally been around for a
short period of history. Specifically, the landmark case Roe v. Wade was the major stride that this
country took towards enforcing women's reproductive rights. The ruling for this case determined
that reproductive rights are legal rights women hold, inclusive of the right to have abortions.
However, many laws today are made in an effort to prevent abortions, acting as "undue burdens"
that aim to create obstacles for women who seek this type of medical procedure. Specifically,
reproductive rights have faced a lot of backlash and backtracking in the past few years, as well as
have become a major topic since the campaigns for the 2016 presidential election began. Beyond the
candidates themselves, the opinions surrounding reproductive rights – specifically in reference to
abortions – are divided greatly between liberal and conservative states, with liberal states more apt
to be in favor and upholding of abortion rights, and conservative states more prominently standing
against abortions. Regardless of the jeopardy that women's reproductive rights are in due to the
upcoming presidential election, the more pressing matter for

The Freedom to the Choice of Abortion
We all live our lives as we please all in accordance to the law, but when it comes to abortion people
start to judge and try to regulate how others live and interfere in their personal choices. We live in a
country based on freedoms, and women have and should continue to have the freedom to the choice
of an abortion. A woman's right to choose abortion is a fundamental right recognized by the US
Supreme Court. The courts also have a category of classes called the 'near–suspect' classes, which
include gender. Gender deserves protection from possible discrimination at the hands of the
majority. Women constitute a majority of American's and have been discriminated in the past. The
Landmark case Roe v. Wade was decided and remains the law of the land. Making laws against
abortions don't stop abortions from happening; they just make it less safe, which in many cases leads
to death. Therefore idea of supporting pro–life is contradictory, this is why the nation should be pro–
choice. No child should be brought into this world where they are not wanted or are not able to live
a normal life. Most people who are against abortion will never even become pregnant, so they
should not be making laws against it. Pregnancy is a private and personal matter. Outlawing
abortion is discriminatory and unfortunately abortions are being transformed from a right to a
privilege for most women.
Abortion represents a woman's right to choose whether or not to continue a pregnancy, and this is a

Feminism Equality And Equality
Throughout the last century, women have had to fight to have the same opportunities as men.
Women have had to earn the right to vote, the right to have a career, and the right to autonomy.
However, these are all rights that men have simply been given, which is why today's feminists work
to promote equality. Despite these efforts, feminism is often misunderstood and is interpreted with a
negative connotation. According to a study conducted by Precopio and Ramsey (2017), "feminism is
commonly recognized as a movement driven to grant social, political, and economic equality to both
women and men." The participation of others besides women is crucial to the spread of equality
among the genders. Furthermore, the stigma and negative feelings surrounding feminism must be
reduced in order for the ideals of feminism to have a greater impact.
The first major misconception about feminism is that the women are the only ones who can be
feminist. This is extremely untrue. The people who work to support this movement are not only
women. They work in many ways to help promote equality. For example, "endorsing feminist
beliefs, identifying oneself as a feminist, and participating in feminist collective action" (Precopio &
Ramsey 2017). These are all ways that feminists work to promote a better society. However, the
negative stigma and stereotypes surrounding feminism and its supporters discourages men and
women from having any part of Feminism. This is in part, the fault of those who spread

An Argument Against Abortion Essay
Abortion in America is a controversial issue in which both
sides have valid arguments at face value. The pro–choice side has many
arguments to support it belief in keeping abortion legal. Many of these are
faulty, and argue points irrelevant to the issue as I will attempt to
illustrate, thereby eliminating the main pro–choice arguments.
The pro–life position has somewhat different ideas. The most
popular of these is: The unborn entity is fully human from the moment of
conception. Abortion results in the intentional death of the unborn entity.
Therefore, abortion can be defined the intentional killing of a human being.
This killing is in most cases unjustified, since the unborn human being has a ... Show more content

The reason this argument doesn't work is because it is begging
the question. In fact, this lie hides behind a good percentage of the popular
arguments for the pro–choice position. One begs the question when one assumes
what one is trying to prove is correct.
The question–begging of the coat–hanger argument is very obvious: but only by
assuming that the unborn are not fully human does the argument work. If the
unborn are not fully human, then the pro–choicer has a legitimate concern,
just as one would have in overturning a law forbidding appendicitis
operations if countless people were needlessly dying of both appendicitis and
illegal operations. But if the unborn are fully human, this pro–choice
argument is the same as saying that because people die or are harmed while
killing other people, the state should make it safe for them to do so.
Even some pro–choicers, who argue for their position in other ways, admit
that the
coat hanger/back–alley argument is crap. Although statistics cant establish
a particular moral position, there has been arguments over both the actual
number of illegal abortions and the number of women who died as a result of
them before legalization. Prior to Roe vs Wade, pro–choicers used saying that
nearly a million women every year obtained illegal abortions performed

The Satellite Television Provider, Directv
In the world today, commercials are one of the basic essentials for a product's success. The satellite
television provider, DirecTV uses commercials as means to succeed. DirecTV commercials are
known to target a male audience. In this particular commercial they specifically targets 'manly' men.
The commercial starts off introducing Peyton Manning and Really High Voice Manning. Peyton
Manning owns DirecTV, has a deep voice, and wears a dark sharp suit. Whereas Really High Voice
Manning does not own DirecTV, has a high voice, and wears wrinkled khakis with a white and
yellow striped polo. The commercial further shows each of their lifestyles with and without
DirecTV. Peyton Manning is seen watching the football games through his mobile phone. He
watches in a locker room before a game and on his team bus. On the contrary Really High Voice
Manning is part of a singing barbershop quartet and watches the football games from the gym
locker. The commercial ends with Peyton Manning saying not to be like Really High Voice Manning
and to get DirecTV. Overall, DirecTV approaches an appeal to ethos by using Peyton Manning's
sense of credibility, manliness, and lifestyle to attract their male audience. One of the appeals
towards ethos is Peyton Manning's sense of credibility. Peyton Manning is part of the NFL, National

Speech On Abortion
Abortion Abortion today is very dangerous not just to a baby but to the mother as well. Every day
there is 600 abortions a day world wide. On November 15 2017, there was 332 abortions since i
loaded the page which was five minutes. Abortions happen every day and if there was 332 abortions
in five minutes imagine all the abortions that happen every day. So today i am going to be talking
about all the abortions that happen every day, and how abortions are done. How abortions are done
So a abortion is done when a mother and father don't want a child. Most of the times the parent's
who put an infant through abortion do it because they are too young to have kids and they can't
support the baby. The baby doesn't have a choice to stay alive or too die. The internet proves that
"they're should be baby rights". Such as baby's should not die after so many months and that
insurances should stop paying for abortions. The hospitals are stating that they don't want to put
babies through an abortion after 20 weeks. The reasoning is because a baby is already developed and
has all the body parts the only thing that is wrong is the size. Statistics Worldwide there has been
1,475,472,151 abortions since 1980. Worldwide this year there has been 35,897,308 abortions.
Worldwide today November, 20, 2017 there has been 53,275

The United States Of America 's 2016 Presidential Election...
The United States of America's 2016 presidential election result, has brought fear among many
different groups, such as the women's rights activist, and women in general. Instead of feeling
protected by their country, these women are worrying whether their inherent rights will be a thing of
the past, or something that will continue to be primitive with modernistic liberal ideologies. In the
21st century, the rise of feminism has taken its toll on misogyny. However, before feminism, history
and other countries today, show how misogyny has lead and continues to belittle women. Due to this
oppression, women in certain countries and in history, have not had the power to control their own
destiny. The idea of not having control over one's autonomy, comes as a frightening thought, and an
idea that has been fought for decades. With the 2016 presidential election, this is a thought that has
cast an overcloud on the results of this presidential election. With the now anti–abortion president–
elect Donald Trump, there are women, with some sense of equality, believing they run the risk of no
longer having control of their body. Women compared to men, are then put at an inherent
disadvantage when it comes to making decisions in regards to their own bodies. Not only does this
disregard the steps made by the American society towards equality between men and women, as a
group of men make these decisions, but it disrespects a woman 's autonomy. Criminalizing abortions

Abortion Is Not A Social Problem
According to the Merriam–Webster dictionary, abortion is the termination of a pregnancy that
results in, is accompanied by, after, or closely followed by the death of a fetus or embryo. Abortion
is not a social problem that has developed strictly in America in recent years. In fact, the legality of
abortion has been debated as early as 1588 when "Pope Sixtus V issued a papal bull forbidding
abortion as punishment for the sexual sin of intercourse" (Rose, p xiii, 2008). A little over two
hundred years later, United States President Ulysses S. Grant signed the Comstock Act, which forbid
the delivery of contraceptives. During the years from 1918–1968; Ruth Barnett, of Portland,
Oregon, performed tens of thousands of illegal (though, safe) abortions. As one can see thorough
history, abortion has always been debated and considered a social problem. In America, laws
regarding abortion started showing up in the nineteenth century. In 1821, the first statutory abortion
regulation was put in place (in Connecticut) to protect women from abortion by way of poison. In
1856, it was legal in most states to receive an abortion during the first trimester. However, Dr.
Horatio Storer, a pro–life advocate, established a national drive by the American Medical
Association (AMA) to end all legal abortions (Timeline of abortion laws and events, n.d.). In 1890,
the AMA advocated statues were put in place and abortion would only be permitted if one or more
physicians believe it to be necessary

Abortion and Women's Rights: Unification of Pro–Life and Pro–Choice through Feminism
January 22, 1973 is a day that, in the eyes of many modern feminists, marked a giant step forward
for women's rights. On this date the U.S. Supreme court announced its decision in Roe v. Wade, a
verdict that set the precedent for all abortion cases that followed. For the first time, the court
recognized that the constitutional right to privacy "is broad enough to encompass a woman's
decision whether or not to terminate her pregnancy" (Roe v. Wade, 1973). It gave women agency in
their reproductive choices; no longer were they forced to succumb to second rate citizenship as a
housewife, a single mother, or a mother in poverty on account of pregnancy. ... Show more content

It is important, to further women's standing in today's society, that these two sides on the abortion
debate become united through feminism.
Feminism is the advocacy of the rights of women based on the theory of equality of the sexes
(Oxford English Dictionary). It is built on the principle that women have innate worth, inalienable
rights, and valuable ideas and talents to contribute to society. Feminists fight for equality in every
dimension of society, for both equal rights with men and equal respect.
Pro–choice feminism views the right to an abortion as integral to a women's right to sovereignty.
Without abortion, women would unjustly be forced into motherhood. From a feminist standpoint,
denying the right for women to choose to have an abortion forces them into submissive roles in
society. Pregnancy works to condemn women to second class citizenship, since in our society,
mothers are second class citizens. Once a woman becomes a mother, her resources to education,
employment, and health care become severely limited.
Gaining the access to safe and legal abortions finally allowed a woman to have the basic right of
controlling her own body. Prior to legal abortion, women had two options: to undergo an unsafe,
illegal abortion that put their bodies at risk or to continue their pregnancy, even in situations that
were disadvantageous to both the woman and the unborn fetus. Society has no right to control what

that eating disorders affects the most are typically girls through the ages of sixteen and twenty years

factors, social media has worsened the problem by the huge increase in peer pressure girls endure

The Moral Ethics Of Ending An Unborn Child 's Life
Rhetorical Analysis Essay: All around the world, there are many controversies that people argue for
and fight against. One of these controversies is; abortion which is the deliberate termination of a
pregnancy before a fetus is capable of independent life. This is a very controversial topic because
people are worried about the moral ethics of ending an unborn child's life. There are two different
sides to this debate that include; people who are pro–life and people who are pro–choice. People
who are pro–life believe in anti–abortion because they believe that it is wrong and killing a fetus is
taking away a human life. On the other side of the controversy, people who are pro–choice believe
that women should have the right to choose to have an abortion in order to get rid of an unwanted
pregnancy. Many people have different views on this controversy and the article "Women Seek
Abortions for a Variety of Different Reasons" talks about a study that asked women why they have
abortions and compared the different reasons with each other. This article was about a study that was
made with researchers; Antonia Biggs a senior researcher of Advancing New Standards in

Some people claim you are a person directly after conception, while others believe that a grouping
of 46 chromosomes does not make you a human, but a potential life. Whether or not they are a
living human being depends on whether they are protected by the right to life. Abortions for rape or
incest victims is another controversial topic. Babies born of these acts are not intended at all, as the
sexual act was forced and no contraception or precaution could be taken. Killing the babies from
these actions is penalizing them for something they had no choice in the matter of. This dispute is
the link between two groups; Pro–Choice and Pro–Life. Naturally, each side is the absolute reversal
of the other. That is why negotiation is so difficult. Pro–Life, or "right to life", is the group that is
against abortion. They are usually republicans, or conservatives. They claim human life begins at
conception; thus making the fetus a person and elimination of such as that, manslaughter. The
unborn are innocent, and deserve their right to life. The issue of abortion to them is one of civil
rights– they believe all humans justify equality, even those that aren't born yet. In the case of rape or
incest, they still believe the child should not be punished for a criminal's wrong doing. Abortion is
legal in our country, but Pro–Lifers hope to make an amendment that gives all living humans from

And over half of all unplanned pregnancies end in abortion. Improved access to contraception would

Adoption is not an alternative to abortion, because it remains the woman's choice whether or not to
give her child up for adoption. Statistics show that very few women who give birth choose to give

women give up their babies for adoption. Many people think that having an abortion is unsafe, that
is entirely untrue if you have the right medical attention an abortion is a very save procedure. Today
abortion under modern hospital conditions is safer than childbirth. The majority of women who have
an abortion do so in their first trimester (88%). Medical abortions have less than 0.5% risk of serious

Abortion
Introduction
Abortion has become the common focus of diverse and influential debate in various societies,
especially the U.S. One of the most confrontational topics argued is whether or not abortion is
morally ethical. More than forty percent of all women will terminate their pregnancy by abortion at
some point in their reproductive lives (Stacey OL). In spite of disagreement by many people,
abortion is one of the most widespread medical procedures performed in the United States every
single year. Eventhough abortion is opposed by many people, it should stay legal, because it is the

Embryos, fetuses, and zygotes are not considered unborn children; they must have the personality in
order to be human. Many declare that the zygote is the person because it has forty–six
chromosomes, yet that only makes it the potential human. "Most cells in the body have forty–six
chromosomes, but that does not make the white corpuscle the person!" (Zindler 29) Just because the
zygote has the same number of chromosomes that live humans have, it doesn't mean that they are
humans yet. Everyone may have different beliefs as to when life begins but, the fact remains, it does
not begin at conception (Regas, 1991).
Many religions contain traditions which involve opinions on abortion. These outlooks generally
scope from rejection to acceptance. The Bible clearly states that human life begins at birth with
breathing. In Genesis 2, God "breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became the
dwelling being". In addition, "According to King James version of the Bible, it does not condemn
abortion or call it 'murder'" (Zindler 26). The 1954 edition of Codex Juris Canonici (Latin Manual of
Church Law) states that Modern Roman Catholic Church admits not every conception is the person:
"When in doubt as to whether one or more are persons, one is baptized absolutely, others
conditionally" (Zindler 30). The Roman Catholic Church does not have moral right to force its

looking into the physical, mental, and emotional effects on the women, the statistics that play into
the reasoning behind the abortion and give some baseline statistics. According to the CDC (Centers

Rhetorical Analysis of Cicero's Defense of Marcus Caelius...
Cicero believed that a good orator must do three things in his speech: earn the favor of the audience,
provide persuasive arguments, and move the audience with emotional appeals. In his defense of
Marcus Caelius Rufus one finds an excellent example of Cicero's work and through close
examination can glean some additional information about what Cicero felt was needed in a good
speech. With such scrutiny it becomes readily apparent that each of the three objectives need not be
attained equally. Because while Cicero does attempt to gain the favor of his audience, provide
persuasive arguments, and presents the audience with powerful emotional appeals, he spends a vast
amount of time providing the jury with "proofs" (persuasive arguments), a ... Show more content on

However, his most obvious attempt to entertain his listeners is seen in his adoption of various
personas, such as "the famous Caecus" (Cicero, p.141–142), or Clodia's younger brother (Cicero,
p.143) and finally the strict and lenient fathers who address Caelius directly (Cicero, p.143–144).
The reasons why he resorts to these methods are almost as evident as the methods themselves. In
this trial there is little to no physical evidence, the prosecution is based almost entirely on the
testimony of Clodia (as Cicero points out (Cicero, p.140–141)) and various other witnesses. And
despite the fact that Cicero claims "Fact will be pitted against fact" (Cicero, p.137) the outcome of
the case depends largely on which side the jury chooses to believe; Cicero knows that if the jury is
on his side then they will tend to value his points over those of his opponents. In order to sway the
jurors he flatters them and attempts to entertain them, because if they feel good will towards him as
he speaks that could easily be transferred to his statements as well. This is extremely important

Causes of Eating Disorders
Causes of eating disorders. The things that are contributing greatly to the increase of eating
disorders is the media. Many teenagers grow up being influenced by magazines, movies, and models
and they think that the only way that society will accept them is if they look exactly like those
people. They have the fear of becoming fat and being bullied. These kids are genuinely scared to
grow up and have to face body changes. there is also the other part of these disorders. Not all people
who have an eating disorder are skinny. There are also those who eat because they are stressed or
have a low self esteem. They are influenced by their parents. So that means that if their parents have
the habit of always eating or not eating, the children will pick up those same customs. Sometimes
there are kids who are physically or sexually abused and that causes them to look for comfort in
food or just decide to not eat properly. Fashion Statement The media has done a tremendously great
job at advertising how the "ideal" male or female should look. According to each era, this meaning
has drastically changed. For example, the 1950's thought that the perfect woman was curvy and had
an hourglass figure like Marilyn Monroe, Diana Dors and Betty Grable. They did not think that
"skinny" guys or girls were attractive. For the past 25 years, it has been considered "fashionable" to
be tall and skinny. An example of this is Kate Moss' famous quote "Nothing tastes as good as skinny
feels". She is a

Is an Aborted Baby Only Potential Life ? Essay
Is an Aborted Baby Only "Potential Life" ?
Simmons says in Personhood, the Bible, and the Abortion Debate:
The genetic definition of personhood confuses potentialities with actualities. Potentialities are
certainly important but they do not have the same value as actualities. "An embryo is not a person
but the possibility or the probability of there being a person many months or even years in the
future," Charles Hartshorne has argued. "Obviously possibilities are important, but to blur the
distinction between them and actualities is to darken counsel." The same point is made by John Stott
in saying that the decision to abort for reasons of maternal health is "a choice between an actual
human being and a potential human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By eight weeks, when a woman generally discovers she's pregnant, all body systems are present
(Hooker). One doctor, operating on an ectopic pregnancy at eight weeks, discovered an "extremely
alive," perfectly developed little person, vigorously swimming in his environment with a "natural
swimmer's stroke."(Rockwell 11) The preborn child is unmistakably human, unmistakably alive, and
unmistakably distinct from the mother.
Does the baby feel pain in an abortion? The pain mechanism has been found to be functioning in the
preborn child as early as 45 days after conception. Abortion does cause pain (Reinis 223–235,
Collins 922–923, Noonan 213). In the film, "The Silent Scream," an actual first–trimester abortion is
seen via ultrasound. The baby can be seen repeatedly moving to dodge the abortionist's suction
instrument, and her heart rate doubles. As she is dismembered, her mouth opens in a silent scream.
Abortion is violence – against preborn children, and against the women in whose bodies the
violence takes place.
What about a woman's right to chose? It is not "choosing" that is ever an issue, but rather what is
chosen. Women, like men, have the right to choose many things. We can choose our careers, where
we wish to live, whether or not to engage in sexual activity, etc. However, like the racist or the
rapist, we have no right to make choices that infringe upon the basic rights of others. An

The Quiz On Terms Of Party Alignment Was The Democratic Party

  • 1. The Quiz On Terms Of Party Alignment Was The Democratic Party The results on the quiz in terms of party alignment was the Democratic Party. The quiz showed I was in agreement with the Democratic Party more than the other parties with a match of 87%. I also had high percentages in the Green Party, Libertarians, and the Constitution Party. The reason I have high percentages for the other parties as well is because they all have different views on all the different issues and how they approach the problems, so I agree with some of the issues they are for or against or even what they are doing to be for or against them. I was not expecting to get the results of being more in agreement to the Democratic Party for many reasons. I was surprised because my family is more a part of the Republican Party and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After doing the quiz I can see the issues on the oil industry and the military that need to be dealt with. These issues are important in whole, but personally to me they are not the most important issues to take care of first. The issues I feel are more important are personal to me or are important to the people who are close to me who have maybe gone through or dealt with some of these issues. Overall on the issue of abortion rights, Democrats are pro–choice. This issue was thought to be resolved by Supreme Court in the case of Roe v. Wade. No matter if abortion is illegal or not, women will do what they want concerning their bodies even if that means going to an underground abortion operation, which in most cases are botched and the woman having the unbelievably dangerous procedure dies. The Roe v. Wade case, Supreme Court thought out a legal balance between the rights of women and also the rights of the developing fetuses. A couple of these legal balances; Before a fetus can live outside the womb, which is the 1st and 2nd trimester, or 6 months, women have a right to choose whether to abort or not, and after a fetus is viable, states may prohibit all abortions, as long as they make exceptions where a woman 's life or health are in danger (). In some nations early abortion is legal where certain religions predominate. Democrats respect the views of others who believe it is immoral and is very over to debate over the issue. ... • 5. Pro-Consent Essay The three main aspects of politics, religion and the women's right to choose go into the different arguments over the debates of abortion. One of the movements which is pro–life which is against the legalization of abortion. Another main movement is pro–choice which believes that 'if' the fetus is a person then the women can't if the abortion. However, pro–consent believes that the women have a right to choose to consent to the condition of pregnancy or obtain an abortion (McDonagh, 23). Pro– consent supports the rights of all living beings. People in the general public in non–similar situations should not have a right to decide a woman's right to abort a child. A woman may choose an abortion if she is unable to care for a child ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reality becomes that all of Americans and most Catholics are in favor of legal abortions. However, " 81% want abortion reduction" which seems odd; but proves how religious views influence politics (Cahill, 188). In the Supreme Court ruling Roe vs. Wade made abortion legal because of "single minded determination" being questioned. Meanwhile, that may be the very thing that will reverse it (Cahill, 188–89). Political candidate have to relate to the catholic bipartisan party in order to win an election. This undermines the idea of the separation of church and state. The general public believes that no child should live in unsafe circumstances. That means no fetus should be knowingly born into an unhealthy environment. George Tiller stated that, " Abortion is a matter of survival for women"(Young, 416). For example, a father raped and impregnated his nine– year–old daughter. The clarity that the nine–year–old would be unfit mother and not developed enough to go through pregnancy is evident (Young, 416–17). This coincides with Judith Jarvis Thomson's opinion of Pro–Consent. A very vocal anti–abortion protester stated for a video camera that he believed all fetuses should be born, although, he was divorced and legally found as an unfit parent (Young, 419). This is a prime example of unknowledgeable activists who argue that women should be forced to keep the babies by the state should take care of the babies they could not support. However, a ... • 9. Staff Analysis : Dave Jones And Dave Verden Staff Analysis Statement of the Problem Two college roommates, Nelson Jones and Dave Verden, started Jones Electrical Distribution (JED) in 1999. JED acts as the middleman, purchasing products from manufacturers and selling to general contractors and electricians. JED purchases products, ranging from controllers to signal devices and fuses, from nearly 100 different suppliers. JED's customers mostly use the products purchased in the construction and repair of commercial and residential buildings. As a result, JED's sales follow the seasonality of its customers' businesses, which are most active in the spring and summer months. Jones also faces strong competition from national distributors, home centers, and other supply stores. Jones has grown sales volume by competing on price and incentivizing an aggressive sales force. Jones, to compete on price, has tried to minimize operating expenses by paying the salesforce heavily based on commission. Additionally, Jones has taken advantage of the 2% discount offered by its suppliers for quick payments. Jones has also been proficient at demand forecasting and inventory management, which has allowed him to satisfy his customers' needs with a moderate level of inventory and stay in business in a competitive market. Since 1999, Jones has turned JED into a profitable business operation, growing sales to $2.24 million and earning a net income of $30,000 in 2006. • 13. Reproductive Rights : Pro Choice Vs. Pro Life Essay Reproductive rights: Pro–choice vs. pro–life For more than 30 years, reproductive rights have been a controversial topic in the United States pushing people into opposing views as pro–choice and pro– life . In 1973, Roe v Wade granted the legal right for women to abort fetuses before they are viable (Gostin & Reingold, 2016) . However in 1992, Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v Casey gave states more rights to regulate abortions in a way to protect the mother and fetus (Gostin & Reingold) . Gostin & Reingold stated that the 1992 law could protect and define the viability to terminate pregnancy, but states could not make it difficult for women to obtain an abortion if they wanted one . Although the issue has gone through years of legal battles, abortions still lie as personal issues for individuals in society and the medical system . The variability in moral stances about abortion in the medical system and the right of patients to receive fair care can be skewed despite the laws in place (Birnbaum, 2014) . This paper, explores the ethical implication that abortion carries including woman's rights and how they specifically apply in nursing . What is the ethical dilemma? Pro–choice is generally the belief that an individual has the right to get a legalized abortion . While Pro–life is the complete opposite, opposing abortion and euthanasia . According to Mikolajczak and Bilewicz (2015), "Due to moral, religious, and cultural sensibilities, the topic of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Abortion Is Negatively Affecting Our Society Today Abortion is negatively affecting our society today. Numerous people feel it is evil, because it kills an unborn for no reason. Conversely, others believe that it is a woman's legal right to choose abortion, especially in case of incest, rape, or health issues threatening life of a mother. To kill an unborn using dreadful procedures is not only wrong for the doctors to perform, but it is also morally wrong. How would you feel if someone took away your ability to live? Imagine not having any say in life or death. Babies do not have a choice in their mother's womb. If a woman decides to abort her baby, they cannot do anything about their life being taken away from them. A baby's whole future is demolished. There are many other alternative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many other families would love to raise the child as their own. Another reason abortion is not a wise solution is the harm that is done to the mother. The mother's life is at a high risk, and it affects her emotionally and physically. According to Gómez–Lavín (2008–2013) "sixty five percent of women who abort suffer symptoms of post– traumatic stress syndrome after undergoing the procedure." Many women regret getting an abortion. This makes it a controversial issue. Abortion can also result in not being able to get pregnant in the future. It can cause many sicknesses and even death. Abortion affects both victims in dangerous ways. Women who get abortions are commonly seen as experiencing conflict over their abortion decision, not fully accepting at an emotional level their own action, but feeling guilt, shame, and ambivalence. According to Rosen, Hudson, & Martindale (1975) the discomfort with having violated social mores, and a person 's consequent ambivalence about her sexual nature in general, if very strong will probably preclude getting in touch with real self–completely, but women as patients do wrestle with questions about abortion in itself. Abortion is considered brutal murder. In 1982, Ronald Reagan stated: "Simple morality dictates that unless and until someone can prove the unborn human is not alive, we must give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it is (alive). And, thus, it should be entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. The Characteristics Of Abortion Introduction Abortion is a common procedure where a pregnancy is terminated by removing a fetus or an embryo from the uterus (Edelman et al., 2003). In 2008, it was estimated that about 30% of women between the ages of 15 and 44 would have an abortion by the age of 45 due to an increase of about 200,000 abortions from 2000 to 2008 (Jones et al., 2011). However, in 2014, only about 1.5% of women between the ages of 15 and 44 had an abortion (Jones et al., 2017). There was a 14% decrease in abortions from 2011 to 2014, totally over 900,000 abortions performed in the United Sates alone (Jones et al., 2017). Even though the abortion rate is declining, the abortion rate is still high. The characteristics of the women who received abortions changed in correlation to a fewer number of women receiving abortions. In 2008, 42% of the women who received abortions had family incomes below 100% of the federal poverty level; however, in 2014, a significant increase of almost 50% of the women who received abortions had family incomes below 100% of the federal poverty level (Jerman et al., 2017). Adolescents made up a smaller portion of the data, totally about 18% in 2008 to 12% in 2014. This shows that young women with low income have a higher risk for abortions due to a higher risk of unintended pregnancy. The topic of abortion is controversial and an ongoing debate of whether it is morally right to terminate a pregnancy. People have strong feelings for or against abortions, which leads ... • 25. Abortion Vs Abortion Abortion has been debated constantly since it became legal for women to get an abortion without having been raped, or placed in serious harm due to the pregnancy. However, two main arguments have arisen: pro–life and pro–choice. Pro–choice argues based on the benefits for and harms to the mother, while pro–life argues based on benefits for and harms to the fetus. During both arguments, physiological, moral, and psychological effects of abortion are considered on behalf of both the mother and fetus; but one important person has not been considered: the father. Father's too are affected by abortion. In this paper, I will argue that the Equal Rights Amendment passed in 1972, which reads, "Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex (The Learning Network, 2012)." is being violated and that under this amendment, men should be given equal say in the decision to abort. A popular political argument for abortion is that it empowers women by giving them control over their own life. The Supreme Court Justice for Planned Parenthood v. Casey said, "The ability of women to participate equally in the economic and social life of the Nation has been facilitated by their ability to control their reproduction live (Melling, 2017)." While this is true for women, what about men? Fathers are under obligation by law to pay child support if a child is born despite his intentions or desires to be a father after conception, ... • 29. Parenthood Should Not Be Used For Fund Planned Parenthood Planned Parenthood provides services to approximately 2.7 million people a year. Planned Parenthood also receives an estimated $500 million of federal funding. Not only do they receive federal funding, they also received about $250 million from other sources and raised approximately $50 million in fees from their services. Tax dollars should not be used to fund Planned Parenthood because there is a lot of controversy about the services that Planned Parenthood provides, many do not agree with certain decisions Planned Parenthood makes, and there's a lot of debate about what Planned Parenthood spends their money on. There has been plenty of talk about how much of the services Planned Parenthood really provides. According to Planned Parenthood, the organization only provides 3% of abortions to the 2.7 million women they service a year. (3) However, the Susan B. Anthony List states that the organization provides 94% of abortions. (1) Both of these statistics can be misleading though. The Washington Post states, "SBA List, which opposes abortion rights, arrives at its 94% figure by comparing abortions to two other categories of services that are provided to pregnant patients – or 'pregnancy services'" (Ye Hee Lee 1). In other words, the SBA List does not account for the other services like, STD testing, adoption services, and contraception, that Planned Parenthood provides. The Washington Post also notes, "The 3% figure that Planned Parenthood uses is misleading, comparing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Caelius Rufus shows many substantive and stylistic borrowings from the Roman Theater, particularly the comedies of the 2nd century b.c.e. This would scarcely seem remarkable to Cicero, to employ such devices is only to make use of the tools of his trade, as a practical and practicing rhetorician. In this case using the theater as a framing device to guide his audience's response. So too would the judgments and emotions existing in the cultural reservoir of Greco–Roman, or Attic–Latin stage have met his division of purpose as he considered the permanent written speech, he would set down in the wake of the trial, however it was decided. ... In a earlier statement we encounter words which probably reflect his own view closely: But the fact of the matter is that oratory is a much more considerable activity and depends on a far wider range of different arts and branches of study, than people imagine (Cicero, Orator I 4,16).Particularly Cicero seems interested in holding on to the orator's special sphere – the third branch of Philosophy life and behavior of human beings which is to say, human nature (Cicero, Orator I 15, 69). We hear of the orator's special strength – to rouse men's hearts to anger, hatred, and indignation (Cicero, Orator I 12,53), a not dissimilar goal to that of the dramatist. We find that a speaker's job is to ensure that the feelings of his audience are affected just the way he wants them to be (19, 87). His Five Tasks of the orator (and to keep within the dignity of the theme) (Cicero, Orator I 38, 142–44) given in a following paragraph, are suitable instructions for any playwright or actor. Even at the beginning of On the Orator Cicero has one of his characters observe approvingly of the benefits to be gained from the less serious art on regulation of expression, voice and movement of body. • 37. Essay on Abortion Abortion is a very controversial subject that has been continually argued over for the past few years and probably many years to come. The main controversy is should abortion be legalized? First before we get into the many sides of abortion we must first define abortion. Abortion is the destruction of the fetus or unborn child while the child is still in the mothers womb. This can be done by almost anyone from the mother herself to back alley abortions and even to abortions by clinics set up especially for this purpose. There are two sides to this abortion topic the PRO–LIFE which is those who are against abortion altogether and the PRO–CHOICE or those who believe it is the womans right to choose if she wants to have an abortion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A woman has been raped and made pregnant: "Oh, she's got to have an abortion." No one has studied the rape and incest victims needs; abortion is presumed to fill her needs." Various studies and research indicate that rape and incest victims fall into a high–risk category of abortion. But what happens after a victim has an abortion? Jackie Baker a victim states: "I soon discovered that the aftermath of my abortion continued a long time after the memory of my rape had faded. I felt empty and horrible. Nobody told me about the emptiness and pain I would feel deep within causing nightmares and deep depressions. They all told me that after the abortion I could continue with my life as if nothing ever happened." (Reardon 21–22) This is the story we hear from a lot of aborted women. Today in our society it is believed by most people that it is the womans fault just as much as the mans fault, if not more. many people think women are responsible for contributing to the rape itself. Then the rape victims feel self–blame and guilt. And even then a rape or incest victims family members or close friends may reinforce these negative feelings. Or they drop the problem because they don't know how to talk about it. We even see the same thing in the abortion experience. When a person becomes pregnant because of rape or incest there is a ... Abortion Abortion and Ethics Roseanna Phares SOC120: Introduction to Ethics & Social Responsibility Mr. Russell Tompkins March 26, 2012 Abortion and Ethics In today's society, "abortion" has raised a lot of ethical controversy all over the world. The word "abortion," means "the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy." (Abortion, 2012) This may be performed for a number of reasons. There are also many different methods of abortion. Abortion has divided people all over the world, and has caused people to debate whether it is right for a woman to terminate her pregnancy or not. What does pro–life and pro–choice mean? This stands for people with different options or view on what is right or wrong. If an individual says that they are for pro–life, it means that they are against abortion, and feel that it is morally wrong. These people believe that abortions are an act of murder of a human life, and that the fetus is a living being inside the mother's womb. These people believe that there are other organizations that can help you find someone who is willing and able to take care of your child if you do not want it, or unable to take care of the child. They believe that there is always an option besides the killing of your unborn child. To be pro–choice, means that it is up to the woman to have an abortion or not, and if she decides to have an abortion then that is her decision and her right as an individual and be free from judgment. "Pro–Choice is the responsibility to yourself and the freedom to decide to take control of your own life process. Pro–Choice is not just about reproduction but the freedom to decide your life course with the support and respect of others. It represents power and pride in self." (FeministWomen'sHealthCenter, 2002) These people believe that you have a right to do what you think is best for your family. It further challenged the constitutionally of several statues in the State of Pennsylvania The Court's major decision upheld the constitutional right of a women to have an abortion while changing standard for abortion restrictions. The difference between Roe v Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey is that the Casey allows the State to regulate abortion rather than as in Roe v. Also, the Court invalidated the necessity for spousal notification of an abortion. The Court held that a women has a right right in an abortion unchanged from the Roe v. Wade's decision. The Supreme Court also upheld that the states has an interest in an unborn life and that at some point a women rights to an abortion can be restricted. The Court further rejected the trimester designation as an undue burden and used the term viable as to when the States can intervene in not allowing a women to have an abortion. • 53. The Issue That Faces Women Is Abortion Description of the Problem An important issue that faces women is abortion. With abortion laws constantly changing, women are finding that they are a continuous target of sexism. Social work is relative to this subject because often times social workers have to assist clients who are seeking or who have had an abortion. It is very important that a social worker is knowledgeable about abortion rights and laws. This is critical as it may become a part of your case. Women's health is equally as important as everyone's else's rights. Instead of focusing on what is much more important, lawmakers have spent a great deal of time focusing on ruling the reproductive rights of women. Abortion rights for women are a constant challenge. Abortion became legal in the 1973 case of Roe v. Wade by the supreme court. A woman then had the right to make choices about her own body. This was all in connection with the ''right to privacy'' rights and the pro–choice side. The problem is you have individuals that agree with ''pro–life and pro–choice.'' With that being said, the pro–life activist believe that the pregnancy should not be terminated and the woman should give birth. Pro– choice is when one believes that it's a woman's decision whether she wants to have a baby or not. This ties into sexism because by taking control over women's health rights, you're limiting a women's capabilities as a woman. With sexist thoughts, a woman's rights can easily be violated with stereotypical thoughts and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 57. Gaap Earnings Vs Non Gaap Lately, it is becoming more and more common for companies to report their financials using Non– GAAP earnings. "A non–GAAP financial measure is a numerical measure of an issuer's historical or future financial performance, financial position, or cash flow that excludes amounts that are found in GAAP financials" (SEC, 2002). Non–GAAP earnings are an alternative way of reporting the performance of a company as opposed to GAAP earnings. Many companies often report non–GAAP earnings alongside the required GAAP earnings. They claim that non–GAAP earnings more accurately depicts what the company is going through and precisely shows their financials. A few common examples of non– GAAP earnings are pro forma earnings, cash earnings, operating earnings, and EBITA (SEC, 2002). Pro forma refers to earnings, which exclude non–recurring items (SEC, 2001). It is regularly found that technology startups are responsible for a lot of the use of non–GAAP earnings because these corporations remove certain items like taxes in their non–GAAP accounting to turn loss into profit (Young 2013). Because of the lack of standardization and the potential for creative accounting, it makes it difficult to draw relevant comparisons among companies or draw meaningful information from these statistics. These reasons alone make the SEC and investors very weary about the implementation of it. An example of a company that uses non– GAAP earnings is Macy's. At the end of the first three quarters both models of my computers had thirty five extra units. The simulation recommended having fifty as the highest amount of product to end up with. During the fourth quarter I was able to adjust and only have twenty five of each model left on the shelf. I should have tried to reduce my left over inventory more in the first three quarters, as the need to keep improving and altering the product was there. If a mother can kill her own child, what is left but for us to kill each other." ~Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Abortion is the act of purposely ending a pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the womb. Abortion can either be spontaneous, commonly known as a miscarriage, or induced, abortion is this case means induced abortion. Abortion has been practiced since the beginning of times using sharp unsanitary tools such as sharpened objects, physical trauma or other traditional methods. However, abortion had been banned or made illegal throughout history everywhere in the world to control women and their reproduction (OBOS.) The 1973 Supreme Court's ruling that legalized abortion in the United States is known as the Roe v Wade. It is a landmark case that gave women the constitutional right to "kill" their unborn children under any circumstances. Roe v wade, since then, has made the topic of abortion a very controversial topic in American Politics. Abortion has Americans divided into two groups, Pro–choice, those who support women's right to choose, and pro–life, those who are against abortion. Undue Burden : Obstacles Against Women 's Reproductive Rights Undue Burden: Obstacles Against Women's Reproductive Rights Undue Burden: Obstacles Against Women's Reproductive Rights The topic of women's reproductive rights has become a major, controversial issue in today's society. Grounded in a history of opposition for religious, political, and moral reasons, reproductive rights have only legally been around for a short period of history. Specifically, the landmark case Roe v. Wade was the major stride that this country took towards enforcing women's reproductive rights. The ruling for this case determined that reproductive rights are legal rights women hold, inclusive of the right to have abortions. However, many laws today are made in an effort to prevent abortions, acting as "undue burdens" that aim to create obstacles for women who seek this type of medical procedure. Specifically, reproductive rights have faced a lot of backlash and backtracking in the past few years, as well as have become a major topic since the campaigns for the 2016 presidential election began. Beyond the candidates themselves, the opinions surrounding reproductive rights – specifically in reference to abortions – are divided greatly between liberal and conservative states, with liberal states more apt to be in favor and upholding of abortion rights, and conservative states more prominently standing against abortions. Regardless of the jeopardy that women's reproductive rights are in due to the upcoming presidential election, the more pressing matter for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Freedom to the Choice of Abortion We all live our lives as we please all in accordance to the law, but when it comes to abortion people start to judge and try to regulate how others live and interfere in their personal choices. We live in a country based on freedoms, and women have and should continue to have the freedom to the choice of an abortion. A woman's right to choose abortion is a fundamental right recognized by the US Supreme Court. The courts also have a category of classes called the 'near–suspect' classes, which include gender. Gender deserves protection from possible discrimination at the hands of the majority. Women constitute a majority of American's and have been discriminated in the past. The Landmark case Roe v. Wade was decided and remains the law of the land. Making laws against abortions don't stop abortions from happening; they just make it less safe, which in many cases leads to death. Therefore idea of supporting pro–life is contradictory, this is why the nation should be pro– choice. No child should be brought into this world where they are not wanted or are not able to live a normal life. Most people who are against abortion will never even become pregnant, so they should not be making laws against it. Pregnancy is a private and personal matter. • 85. Feminism Equality And Equality Throughout the last century, women have had to fight to have the same opportunities as men. Women have had to earn the right to vote, the right to have a career, and the right to autonomy. However, these are all rights that men have simply been given, which is why today's feminists work to promote equality. Despite these efforts, feminism is often misunderstood and is interpreted with a negative connotation. According to a study conducted by Precopio and Ramsey (2017), "feminism is commonly recognized as a movement driven to grant social, political, and economic equality to both women and men." The participation of others besides women is crucial to the spread of equality among the genders. Furthermore, the stigma and negative feelings surrounding feminism must be reduced in order for the ideals of feminism to have a greater impact. The first major misconception about feminism is that the women are the only ones who can be feminist. This is extremely untrue. The people who work to support this movement are not only women. They work in many ways to help promote equality. For example, "endorsing feminist beliefs, identifying oneself as a feminist, and participating in feminist collective action" (Precopio & Ramsey 2017). These are all ways that feminists work to promote a better society. However, the negative stigma and stereotypes surrounding feminism and its supporters discourages men and women from having any part of Feminism. This is in part, the fault of those who spread ... The pro–choice side has many arguments to support it belief in keeping abortion legal. Many of these are faulty, and argue points irrelevant to the issue as I will attempt to illustrate, thereby eliminating the main pro–choice arguments. The pro–life position has somewhat different ideas. The most popular of these is: The unborn entity is fully human from the moment of conception. On November 15 2017, there was 332 abortions since i loaded the page which was five minutes. Abortions happen every day and if there was 332 abortions in five minutes imagine all the abortions that happen every day. So today i am going to be talking about all the abortions that happen every day, and how abortions are done. How abortions are done So a abortion is done when a mother and father don't want a child. Most of the times the parent's who put an infant through abortion do it because they are too young to have kids and they can't support the baby. The baby doesn't have a choice to stay alive or too die. The internet proves that "they're should be baby rights". Such as baby's should not die after so many months and that insurances should stop paying for abortions. The hospitals are stating that they don't want to put babies through an abortion after 20 weeks. The reasoning is because a baby is already developed and has all the body parts the only thing that is wrong is the size. Statistics Worldwide there has been 1,475,472,151 abortions since 1980. Worldwide this year there has been 35,897,308 abortions. Worldwide today November, 20, 2017 there has been 53,275 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the 21st century, the rise of feminism has taken its toll on misogyny. However, before feminism, history and other countries today, show how misogyny has lead and continues to belittle women. Due to this oppression, women in certain countries and in history, have not had the power to control their own destiny. The idea of not having control over one's autonomy, comes as a frightening thought, and an idea that has been fought for decades. With the 2016 presidential election, this is a thought that has cast an overcloud on the results of this presidential election. With the now anti–abortion president– elect Donald Trump, there are women, with some sense of equality, believing they run the risk of no longer having control of their body. Women compared to men, are then put at an inherent disadvantage when it comes to making decisions in regards to their own bodies. Not only does this disregard the steps made by the American society towards equality between men and women, as a group of men make these decisions, but it disrespects a woman 's autonomy. • 106. Abortion Is Not A Social Problem According to the Merriam–Webster dictionary, abortion is the termination of a pregnancy that results in, is accompanied by, after, or closely followed by the death of a fetus or embryo. Abortion is not a social problem that has developed strictly in America in recent years. In fact, the legality of abortion has been debated as early as 1588 when "Pope Sixtus V issued a papal bull forbidding abortion as punishment for the sexual sin of intercourse" (Rose, p xiii, 2008). A little over two hundred years later, United States President Ulysses S. Grant signed the Comstock Act, which forbid the delivery of contraceptives. During the years from 1918–1968; Ruth Barnett, of Portland, Oregon, performed tens of thousands of illegal (though, safe) abortions. As one can see thorough history, abortion has always been debated and considered a social problem. In America, laws regarding abortion started showing up in the nineteenth century. In 1821, the first statutory abortion regulation was put in place (in Connecticut) to protect women from abortion by way of poison. In 1856, it was legal in most states to receive an abortion during the first trimester. However, Dr. Horatio Storer, a pro–life advocate, established a national drive by the American Medical Association (AMA) to end all legal abortions (Timeline of abortion laws and events, n.d.). In 1890, the AMA advocated statues were put in place and abortion would only be permitted if one or more physicians believe it to be necessary ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Abortion and Women's Rights: Unification of Pro–Life and Pro–Choice through Feminism January 22, 1973 is a day that, in the eyes of many modern feminists, marked a giant step forward for women's rights. On this date the U.S. Supreme court announced its decision in Roe v. Wade, a verdict that set the precedent for all abortion cases that followed. For the first time, the court recognized that the constitutional right to privacy "is broad enough to encompass a woman's decision whether or not to terminate her pregnancy" (Roe v. Wade, 1973). It gave women agency in their reproductive choices; no longer were they forced to succumb to second rate citizenship as a housewife, a single mother, or a mother in poverty on account of pregnancy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is important, to further women's standing in today's society, that these two sides on the abortion debate become united through feminism. Feminism is the advocacy of the rights of women based on the theory of equality of the sexes (Oxford English Dictionary). It is built on the principle that women have innate worth, inalienable rights, and valuable ideas and talents to contribute to society. Feminists fight for equality in every dimension of society, for both equal rights with men and equal respect. Pro–choice feminism views the right to an abortion as integral to a women's right to sovereignty. Without abortion, women would unjustly be forced into motherhood. From a feminist standpoint, denying the right for women to choose to have an abortion forces them into submissive roles in society. Pregnancy works to condemn women to second class citizenship, since in our society, mothers are second class citizens. Once a woman becomes a mother, her resources to education, employment, and health care become severely limited. Gaining the access to safe and legal abortions finally allowed a woman to have the basic right of controlling her own body. Prior to legal abortion, women had two options: to undergo an unsafe, illegal abortion that put their bodies at risk or to continue their pregnancy, even in situations that were disadvantageous to both the woman and the unborn fetus. They are complicated, serious disorders. The group that eating disorders affects the most are typically girls through the ages of sixteen and twenty years old. Although teenage eating disorders are typically believed to be caused by depression or genetic factors, social media has worsened the problem by the huge increase in peer pressure girls endure due to the widespread use of sites such as Twitter and Instagram. Eating disorders are real, complex and devastating conditions that can have serious consequences for health, productivity and relationships. The two most common ... Some of these groups became known as Pro–Ana, Pro–Mia and Pro–ED, which are short for Pro–Anorexia, Pro–Bulimia and Pro–Eating Disorders (Wanchisn 1). These terms are used to describe online websites where eating disorder behaviors and attitudes are encouraged greatly. On these sites, users are encouraged to lose weight to be part of that exclusive online community. Some initially appear friendly and happy. However, they can pose a serious threat to some individuals, not simply because they promote eating disorder behaviors, but because they build a community that is unhealthy and unstable. They persuade young girls that the Pro–Ana community is providing caring and nurturing advice, however it is really creating an unhealthy environment (Wanchisn 3). Now Pro–Ana content appears in more places and in more formats, such as blogs and social networking websites. It's also increasingly more difficult to detect Pro–Ana sites. Many are disguised as positive websites where people motivate each other lose weight together and the anorexic theme is hidden behind nice comments. • 118. The Moral Ethics Of Ending An Unborn Child 's Life Rhetorical Analysis Essay: All around the world, there are many controversies that people argue for and fight against. One of these controversies is; abortion which is the deliberate termination of a pregnancy before a fetus is capable of independent life. This is a very controversial topic because people are worried about the moral ethics of ending an unborn child's life. There are two different sides to this debate that include; people who are pro–life and people who are pro–choice. People who are pro–life believe in anti–abortion because they believe that it is wrong and killing a fetus is taking away a human life. On the other side of the controversy, people who are pro–choice believe that women should have the right to choose to have an abortion in order to get rid of an unwanted pregnancy. Many people have different views on this controversy and the article "Women Seek Abortions for a Variety of Different Reasons" talks about a study that asked women why they have abortions and compared the different reasons with each other. This article was about a study that was made with researchers; Antonia Biggs a senior researcher of Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health (ANSIRH), Heather Gould a research coordinator for the study and Diana Greene Foster an interim director of ANSIRH. For the study that they conducted, they used American women who had abortions and asked them open ended questions on why they chose abortion. During the study, they found out there are ... Some people claim you are a person directly after conception, while others believe that a grouping of 46 chromosomes does not make you a human, but a potential life. Babies born of these acts are not intended at all, as the sexual act was forced and no contraception or precaution could be taken. Killing the babies from these actions is penalizing them for something they had no choice in the matter of. This dispute is the link between two groups; Pro–Choice and Pro–Life. Naturally, each side is the absolute reversal of the other. That is why negotiation is so difficult. Pro–Life, or "right to life", is the group that is against abortion. They are usually republicans, or conservatives. They claim human life begins at conception; thus making the fetus a person and elimination of such as that, manslaughter. The unborn are innocent, and deserve their right to life. The issue of abortion to them is one of civil rights– they believe all humans justify equality, even those that aren't born yet. Almost 50% of all pregnancies in this country are unintended, including over 30% within marriage. And over half of all unplanned pregnancies end in abortion. Improved access to contraception would address the source causes of unintended pregnancy and would diminish the need for abortion, but not abolish the choice. Many declare that the zygote is the person because it has forty–six chromosomes, yet that only makes it the potential human. "Most cells in the body have forty–six chromosomes, but that does not make the white corpuscle the person!" (Zindler 29) Just because the zygote has the same number of chromosomes that live humans have, it doesn't mean that they are humans yet. Everyone may have different beliefs as to when life begins but, the fact remains, it does not begin at conception (Regas, 1991). Many religions contain traditions which involve opinions on abortion. These outlooks generally scope from rejection to acceptance. The Bible clearly states that human life begins at birth with breathing. In addition, "According to King James version of the Bible, it does not condemn abortion or call it 'murder'" (Zindler 26). It is a taboo of sorts, but as time goes on, it seems to only be a taboo if you are against abortion, not for it. Mainly because if you are against abortion then you are clearly against women's rights in general. However, while we are fighting for equal rights, we are not even taking into consideration the victims, both of them. However, no matter how humane us big humans try to make it seem, you just cannot hide the simple fact that you are killing a child; an innocent, precious tiny human being. In this paper I want to hone in and focus on the effects of abortion in women aged 20–29 years of age. I will be looking into the physical, mental, and emotional effects on the women, the statistics that play into the reasoning behind the abortion and give some baseline statistics. According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), "[w]omen aged 20–29 years accounted for 57.1% of all abortions reported in 2008 and for the majority of abortions during the entire period of analysis (1999––2008). Another statistic, which is from the Guttmacher Institute (who is in association with Planned Parenthood, the leading organization in "legal" abortions) states in the article "Induced Abortion in the United States," "[w]omen in their 20s account for more than half of all abortions: Women aged 20–24 obtain 33% of all abortions, and women aged 25–29 obtain 24%." Cicero believed that a good orator must do three things in his speech: earn the favor of the audience, provide persuasive arguments, and move the audience with emotional appeals. In his defense of Marcus Caelius Rufus one finds an excellent example of Cicero's work and through close examination can glean some additional information about what Cicero felt was needed in a good speech. With such scrutiny it becomes readily apparent that each of the three objectives need not be attained equally. Because while Cicero does attempt to gain the favor of his audience, provide persuasive arguments, and presents the audience with powerful emotional appeals, he spends a vast amount of time providing the jury with "proofs" (persuasive arguments), a ... However, his most obvious attempt to entertain his listeners is seen in his adoption of various personas, such as "the famous Caecus" (Cicero, p.141–142), or Clodia's younger brother (Cicero, p.143) and finally the strict and lenient fathers who address Caelius directly (Cicero, p.143–144). The reasons why he resorts to these methods are almost as evident as the methods themselves. In this trial there is little to no physical evidence, the prosecution is based almost entirely on the testimony of Clodia (as Cicero points out (Cicero, p.140–141)) and various other witnesses. And despite the fact that Cicero claims "Fact will be pitted against fact" (Cicero, p.137) the outcome of the case depends largely on which side the jury chooses to believe; Cicero knows that if the jury is on his side then they will tend to value his points over those of his opponents. In order to sway the jurors he flatters them and attempts to entertain them, because if they feel good will towards him as he speaks that could easily be transferred to his statements as well. • 146. Causes of Eating Disorders Causes of eating disorders. The things that are contributing greatly to the increase of eating disorders is the media. Many teenagers grow up being influenced by magazines, movies, and models and they think that the only way that society will accept them is if they look exactly like those people. They have the fear of becoming fat and being bullied. These kids are genuinely scared to grow up and have to face body changes. there is also the other part of these disorders. Not all people who have an eating disorder are skinny. There are also those who eat because they are stressed or have a low self esteem. They are influenced by their parents. So that means that if their parents have the habit of always eating or not eating, the children will pick up those same customs. Sometimes there are kids who are physically or sexually abused and that causes them to look for comfort in food or just decide to not eat properly. Fashion Statement The media has done a tremendously great job at advertising how the "ideal" male or female should look. According to each era, this meaning has drastically changed. For example, the 1950's thought that the perfect woman was curvy and had an hourglass figure like Marilyn Monroe, Diana Dors and Betty Grable. They did not think that "skinny" guys or girls were attractive. For the past 25 years, it has been considered "fashionable" to be tall and skinny. Simmons says in Personhood, the Bible, and the Abortion Debate: The genetic definition of personhood confuses potentialities with actualities. "An embryo is not a person but the possibility or the probability of there being a person many months or even years in the future," Charles Hartshorne has argued. One doctor, operating on an ectopic pregnancy at eight weeks, discovered an "extremely alive," perfectly developed little person, vigorously swimming in his environment with a "natural swimmer's stroke."(Rockwell 11) The preborn child is unmistakably human, unmistakably alive, and unmistakably distinct from the mother. Does the baby feel pain in an abortion? The pain mechanism has been found to be functioning in the preborn child as early as 45 days after conception. Abortion does cause pain (Reinis 223–235, Collins 922–923, Noonan 213). In the film, "The Silent Scream," an actual first–trimester abortion is seen via ultrasound. The baby can be seen repeatedly moving to dodge the abortionist's suction instrument, and her heart rate doubles. As she is dismembered, her mouth opens in a silent scream. Abortion is violence – against preborn children, and against the women in whose bodies the violence takes place. What about a woman's right to chose? It is not "choosing" that is ever an issue, but rather what is chosen. Women, like men, have the right to choose many things.
