2. Upon looking at ‘George Lucas in Love’ it is easy to see that it appears
to be a mixture of genres. The colouring and layout of the poster
straight away reminded me of the posters I’ve seen for Indiana Jones.
The off colouring and feature of the characters faces is the reason for
this. Also it is easy to notice that ‘George Lucas In Love’ is meant to
relate to the classic love story of ‘Shakespeare In Love’. This would
further support the ideology of a mixture of genres. The fact they used
this Shakespeare reference helps to portray the comedy aspect as well
as the possible romance aspect, then also you have the characters on
the front looking like Star Wars to add the strong scent of Sci-fi which
further supports the idea of a mix-mash of genres.

3. My first impression upon looking at ‘I’m Here’ was that it definitely
had a serious nature to it. The light colours and slightly scenic setting
meant I associated this poster with drama and a perhaps a story that
would be heart-felt. Also the use of the two characters having some
sort of interaction made me think of the fact it could perhaps include
romance within the story and this is something that would be very
stereotypical within a rom-com kind of film. The film poster on the
right is drama-romance and also features the two characters interacting
and posing together.

4. When looking at the ‘Across The Hall’ poster it is easy to see straight
away that this film would include some sort of ‘thriller’ aspect. The
scared expression on the woman's face accompanied by the dark figure
in the background means that the audience immediately think that this
woman would be in danger from this unknown ‘dark figure’.
Also the text that is used for the movie title ‘Across The Hall’ is very
typical of a thriller or horror film. It is very edgy and the text almost
looks unsettled unlike the title in ‘I’m Here’ that looks very clean cut
and suggests romance. An example of this typically used text can be
seen to the right with the film ‘The Curse Of The Werewolf’.

5. The two posters show the advancement between the short film poster & the
feature film poster. The short film poster is much simpler with the use of
selective focusing to again make the other character a ‘dark figure’. This is
similar to the feature film poster and still creates a thriller sense as the man
looks scared of the figure much like the woman.
The feature film poster takes a more professional approach by using
contrasting colours like black and orange to create a sense of drama and
makes the poster really ‘pop out’. They have decided to keep the big white text
for the title on both, however the feature films title, like I said before, creates
the sense of a thriller and portrays the overall plot of the story a little better I
feel.

6. TYPICAL POSTERS FOR GENRES
IN THE FILM INDUSTRY
Romantic Comedy
Romantic Comedies usually see the two main characters
that are going to fall in love together on the front showing
some sort of interaction/emotion towards each other.
Action
Action movies typically feature the character/s that is going
to be the one that is in the centre of the action. They are
usually shown to be looking fearless and superior/powerful.
Science Fiction
Sci-fi films always show something on the poster that gives
away the genre of it. This could be a spaceship, or x-ray gun
etc. They usually feature a number of the characters and
depending on the ‘sub genre’ the characters along with what
they have to overcome in the background.
Horror
Horrors have always seemed to have a very specific layout for posters.
Usually you see the bad or scary character that will be the ‘chill’ factor
within the movie. Or another typical thing would be to have the place
where the ‘scary’ aspects will take place e.g. A haunted house
