1. These are my raw, un cropped, unedited
versions of my album cover photographs. I
tried to follow through with my theme, by
adding certain elements which I
personally would associate with the jazz
genre.
I thought carefully about which props to use,
including coffee cups, casual drinks glasses and
a keyboard. This is because it added to the cafe
theme, which I feel as if it gives an effect to the
audience that they are sat at the table with her
having a calming afternoon lunch/tea.
I purposely didn’t use any of my other
photographs of my artist, as after researching the
jazz genre, I not only noticed that most jazz
albums have different backgrounds not including
the artist that was linked with their theme, (mine
being a café themed album) but I alsowanted the
audience to focus on one photograph alone of
the artist, and not be distracted as I feel as if this
will link with the music that would be inside of
the album, as calming tones that wouldn’t
distract anybody.
I feel as if these photos have achieved what I
was looking for and exceeded my imagination of
the album cover. This is because I referenced to
my sketch/ plan of what I would like my album
cover to look like, and therefore tried my
hardest to try and copy that and use my
imagination with the artist’s pose etc.
