My first poster analysis, Louis Armstrong.

1. ThisposteremphasiseswhatabrilliantmusicianLouis
Armstrongwas.Firstly,the fontandsize of hisname is
extremelybigand bold,lettingthe audience know
exactlywhoitisinstantly.Thisisina brightcolour,
againstthe brightlycolouredblue andyellow
background,lookinglikethe sky,withthe image of
LouisArmstrongas if he is the ‘musicstar’ fromthe
sun,lettingthe audience knowthathismusicis
‘golden’andone of a kind,thisisalsoshownwiththe
text“Star Of…”
The other textaroundthe title says“The Kingof the
Trumpet”whichpresentsthe genre clearly,asthiswas
obviouslyawell-knowninstrumentplayed forjazz
musicthat he used,that everybodyknowshe played
stupendouslywell, andwasagreat enhancementtohis
music. “AndhisGreat Orchestra” showsthathismusic
involveslotsof elementsthatmakeshismusicso
fantastic,andcouldalsosuggestthat hislive
performancesare alsospectacular.
The image on the rightshowsLouisArmstrong holding
a trumpetinhis hands,whilstlookingtohisleft,
smiling.Thisnotonlyrepresentsthe jazzgenre buthis
personalityaswell.Thisisbecause the smile
emphasiseshisloveforhisjobandthat he reallygets
involvedwithhisworkandcreatesmagical and
memorable music.The trumpetisasignof the genre,
as once again thisisa keyfeature.The factthat
they’ve putanimage of LouisArmstrong’sfull face on
thisphotoalsosuggeststhat he wantedpeople to
knowthat the jazz musiccame from the NewOrleans
withhisrace shownonthe front,as thisiswhere he
was born,whichisalsowhere jazzmusicoriginated.
My eyeswere automaticallydrawntothe huge lettering,
before seeingLouisArmstronghimself,makingitagreat
advertisementforpeopletosee froma longdistance too,as
it’sextremely eye catching.
The posterremindsme of a circus,whichaddsto the
extraordinaryexcitementthatanaudience maygetfromhis
music,as he puts ona huge show/live performance,justlike a
circus act would.
