Fish Bowl
Marvin, the loner fish, lives a sad, lonely, and miserable life. He swims alone every day,
round and round he goes, just wishing that he could be in the “popular” crew. The fish in the
other bowl, Terry, Jerry, Larry, and Kari hung out without Marvin, making him feel constantly
left out. These other fish met at the usual spot, Swimmer’s Circle, where they ridiculed and made
fun of Marvin. They made Marvin feel sad, and lonely, and miserable every day. They called
him names like “Fish Bait” and “Shrimp” making his sad life, even more sad. He tried to talk to
his parents about the issue, but the more he searched for them, the more he could not find the
bowl that they had moved to as well. Everyone was away from Marvin and he felt extremely
secluded. He had no one to talk to, blow bubbles with, eat with, or swim with. The other fish
continued to make fun of him from the bowl that he wasn't allowed to get into, and finally one
day Marvin built up the courage to take action. He decided that he was sick of being alone, and
he was especially sick of being made fun of. Marvin, with all his might, jumped into the air and
was making his way into “Swimmer’s Circle”.
