Dear Mrs. Williams,
I cannot begin to express my gratitude towards you for allowing me to intern under you
this past year as a Work-Based Learning student. You are one of the best educators I have seen,
and it has been an amazing experience to witness you teach. You have taught me so much, not
only about teaching, but about life as well. Every day that I stepped in your classroom, I learned
a different lesson from you. Some days they were lessons such as how to best maintain your
cool when the students had way too much sugar for lunch, and other days they were lessons
about how important it is to look at things from a positive view, even when all you can see is
the negativity of the situation. I also learned just how crucial it is to have plans in place and to
stay organized. Most importantly, I learned that every person can teach you something,
because you and each and every one of those children have taught me something that will last
with me for the rest of my life.
The priceless memories we have had together this year are the ones that I will look back
on with the most fondness. Ever since that day during my first week when we both ended up in
the hall crying from laughter, I knew it was going to be a good year. Between you trying to sing
those stories in that poem book, and me trying to shove stuff in that back closet, I am pretty
sure the kids think we are insane. The fact that we thought Marmaduke was so entertaining
probably proved them right.
I have enjoyed every moment (even the ones where I wanted to pull my hair out) with
you and the kids this year, and I am sad to see it all come to an end. I know for a fact that you
are going to be an amazing Instructional Lead Teacher next year. I am going to try my hardest to
be equally amazing at Georgia Southern, because something tells me if you find out I have done
wrong, I am going to get a phone call from you "straightening me out." Thank you so much for
participating in the Work-Based Learning Program and being my mentor and friend. You have
been there for me when I was successful to say that you were proud of me, and you have been
there when I was struggling and needed you, and for that I am truly grateful. You have made
me not only want to strive to become a better person, but also a better Christian. The words
"Thank You" will never be enough to express my appreciation for you.
Love always,
Cindy Jersey
