Limberlake Wertenbaker Play Analysis
Plot synopsis (200 words):
Timberlake Wertenbaker structures Our Country's Good with two core groups: the convicts and the
authoritative ship crew. The play centers around crime and punishment, and whether the right
punishments are really being issued. It seems that for the crimes being committed, the punishments
are too extreme. Wertenbaker's characters begin to question morality. Members of the crew question
if flogging/hanging is really the best form of "entertainment", and rather putting on a play could
possibly provide some healing and redemption for the convicts. Second Lieutenant Ralph Clark
heads the production of the play as suggested by the governor. Throughout the duration of the play
we encounter convicts, one central convict being, Liz Morden. Her outlook on everything is quite
dark, but her participation in the play opens her up and she prevents her own hanging. Eventually,
the more the convicts and ship crew involve themselves in the art of theatre, the more united they
become, and redemption occurs for all involved. Drama has become a form of consolation and
rejuvenation, revealing a more optimistic and bright world, as opposed to former hopeless and
gloomy world that the audience first encountered at the beginning of Wertenbaker's play.
Dialogue (200 words): Is the dialogue believable? Is there variation between characters or do they
sound the same?
As a reader of Our Country's Good, I do not find the dialogue to be completely believable. The play

The Consequences Of Debt In The United States
The United States of America is currently being stared down by twenty trillion dollars in debt. This
debt is not to be blamed one political party, but rather the entire American population since the
beginning of our country's existence. We have been spending our money as if we are a large country,
but taxing our people like we are a small country. The debt of our country is battling a "physical
cancer that is growing inside of us that could bring about catastrophic consequences." There are four
deficits: budget, savings, trade, and leadership, aiding our country's debt crisis. Each of these
deficits has their own influence on debt, and each of them has a possible solution. A budget is the
amount of money that is allowed to spend for over a

Harding Big Government
What makes Warren G. Harding a good president? First of all he was big government. Second he
passed one very important law that has made a big impact on the on the U.S. Lastly harding has a lot
of cool and interesting facts. To begin as you may know from reading the first paragraph that
president Harding is Big Government. Harding is Big Government because he tried the pass a law
that could have made a big help with our country today. "Harding sought to provide hospitalization,
vocational training, and monetary compensation for wounded and convalescent soldiers, sailors, and
marines."Along with the law that he tried to pass his term started near the end of world war 1. Soon
before Harding died he made the steel industry work day's longer but they did not agree and after his
death they shortened the work day's back to the way it was. Secondly he has passed one law the law
he passed is very important in our country. It is that woman could vote but in some country's it is
still illegal to this day for woman to vote not only that but in some country's female's can not go to
school. Harding also made this quote,"I would say let the black man vote when he is fit to vote; ...

The Great Recession Of 2008
Stefanos Lazaridis Professor Demiray Economics 200 October 18, 2015 Great Recession of 2008
The Great Recession in 2008 led to a huge crisis in the United States economy. This recession
almost led to the entire collapse of the United States economy due to the constant unstable changes
in legislation, regulation, along with the changes in fiscal and monetary policies. Furthermore, many
economists believe that the increase of excess monetary and government irresponsibility led to the
overall crisis in the mid to late 2000's. Some economists believe that the oversupply of monetary
contributed to the 2008 crisis due to low interest rate targets that were substantially below the
monetary requirement. In this paper I will discuss the effects of the changes in monetary and fiscal
policies that altered the economy in 2008 as well as the current and desired gross domestic product
for the future United States economy. The United States fiscal policy can be defined by how the
United States government collects revenue which is usually through taxes from consumers, and how
the government spends (expenditures) the money collected in order to influence the economy.
Moreover, many Keynesian economists believe that by adjusting level of taxation and government
expenditures, supply and demand could also impact aggregate demand. For example, if John says
that there needs to be an increase in jobs to enhance overall stimulation in the future economy, he
would have to allocate resources and

The Five Themes Of Economy In The United States
There are 5 themes of history; culture, citizenship, geography, government, and economy. They all
hold vital importance to us, whether in history or not. But which impacts us the most? I believe that
it is the theme economy that impacts us the most because of how it affects our country's well–being
and our resources. One reason I believe that economy is the theme that impacts us the most is
because of how it affects our country and it's well–being. For example, a recent CNNMoney article
states, "This is investors being opportunistic and buying on the weakness. Unless you think there's
going to be some massive slowdown in the economy, all of a sudden equities at these levels look
attractive again." This quote shows that economy is very important

Walmart Argumentative Essay
Every successful business have a bad side to it, such is Walmart, one of the top topic these days for
cheating hours off their workers, low wages, and using public's money (subsidies) for their business.
There have been many reports against walmart, but we have rarely seen anything about it on the
news or on any other popular site, and there have been too little thing done about it. Walmart have to
be more in–check with the Union or the government, because walmart have done many things that
hurt their employees and the community just for some profit, and get away with it. Some people
might not see walmart as a threat of any kind, but walmart is a big trouble for our community, to
small businesses, and our country's economy. It has been proven to us many time that, as long as
they will make a profit, walmart do not care any less about the community or the ... Show more

what their motive really is, and how greedy and selfish they are. Walmart is not helping our

people of the country, instead it mistreated them, pay their associates poorly, discriminated their

Our Country's Good Authoritarianism
In Our Country's Good, the characters of authority; including Ross and Tench are both prejudice
against the convicts for the fact that they are convicts. This treatment includes their lack in hope for
rehabilitation of the convicts through theatre, expressed through brutal violence. Ross especially
finds violence to be necessary in maintaining control over the convicts. Despite Ross has almost no
redeeming factors, the criticism of authority figures in Our Country's Good does not seem to be
relentless as Phillip and Ralph help in teaching the convicts, attempting to reform them through
performing a play. The criticism of authoritarian figures in Jerusalem is not dominantly expressed
through the actual authoritarian characters; including Fawcett, Parsons, the Kennet and Avon
Council, the pub owners and the new estate owners. Jerusalem ... Show more content on

Our Country's Good and Jerusalem both seem to be criticised by their playwrights thanks to their
choice of whether to have the authoritarian characters commit violence or restrict themselves. The
violence committed by Ross are examples of Louis Althusse' theory of 'Ideological State Apparatus'
and 'Repressive State Apparatus', in which the ISA represents the peaceful ways of achieving control
through ideological means such as education and politics, both of which Ross seems to restrict the
convicts of. However, Ross takes advantage of the RSA; control created by force, in Our Country's

Why Do We Have A Price For Liberty
People of our new nation, there is a price for liberty and we must all pay that price so that we may
win the war, and gain our freedom. This time of crisis will come to an end as we, the people, think
of the freedom we will have after being fully in control of ourselves and abolishing the kings
monarchy in our new nation. This war is causing most of our debt by buying support and supplies
from our allies such as France or Spain. We buy weapons and their troops to help us come out
victorious in battle. We do not have enough money to pay them back, due to our country's current
predicament. Our allies in Europe helped through these times by giving us, the Americans, money so
that our country may survive this brutal war. This debt will not go unnoticed but we will have to

If we push through all the problems we will be our own free country standing proud and free.
Because of our great government's great loss of money we have to institute paper money and
distribute it among the colonies as to give assurance that we have money and can pay off our great
debt of around 77million dollars. This caused our kindling nation to crumble into inflation forcing
us, the people, to pay too much for goods, lowering demands for such goods. We can succumb this
problem and reain American wealth through fighting our nation's war along with our own, as we are
becoming a free country we need to focus on the foundation of the rebellion focusing on our
freedom. We do not have the silver or gold to back up our paper money and this is why our great
nation suffers from inflation. In the Battle of Saratoga our allies, the French supported us by sending
gunpowder to our troops to fight another day. As we did not know whether to take this as a gift or a
loan we tried to pay back france what we could in tobacco. This caused the temporary slow in the

Domestic product?
I. Rationale
In every country, gross domestic product (GDP) serves as an indicator to determine how well does
the country performed for a specific period of time. It is an estimation of the value of the total goods
and services it has produced. It matters to us when our country's gross domestic product constantly
increases from period to period, but is there really a massive increase in a country's gross domestic
product when it is election year? It is said that during this time, gross deomestic product is expected
to increase for factors such as manufacturing, construction, and financial intermediation really ...

Concept Paper 3: How can Instagram, Facebook, or other social media be good for business?
I. Rationale
With the fast developing technology, more and more people make use of social medias and online

information, communication become more convinient and accessible and many more. Thus, small
and large companies nowadays are adapting these technological changes. Different business
industries have entered the growing area of online selling to expand their market to more people
easily. Business people create accounts in various social media sites particularly in Facebook and
Instagram to showcase the various products that they offer. In this way, people, especially those who
are not capable of not visiting the physical stores, can be reached out. However, before entering a

diversity is incredible. We are made of so many different colors and races and have a lot of different

Leadership Strategies 1) Introduction (brief description of your Scenario) Our company has been in
business for more than ten years now. As an organization, we have had our fair share of success and
obstacles, but all in all success has had the bigger share. In all the cases, we have increased our
efforts to specialize in our respective field and take it to an entirely new level (Hood, 2007). There
was a time when our company had few resources, and we had to opt for improvising and using the
available resources to get us going. The following year we were able to get enough resources, and
we got back to our feet (Ifezuo, 2011). During this period, there was war prevailing in our country.
Availability of resources became scarce due to the war. The limit of resources started to decline the
economy of our country and most companies stated recycling as a method of finding resources
(Marshall, 2010). 2) Vision and mission (what is the goal or point on the horizon) Target: Managers
across the country can have impressive progress for their organizations through re–designing and
strong performance. Vision: to increase the market share to 60% in less than 12 months by setting up

Education can Benefit a Society and a Nation
One of the great scholar named Bacon, Said that "Knowledge is power". Here question arises, from
where the knowledge comes from? How can we get it? The answer respond with fabrication in
"education". In the course of education, it will enclose the power to build up a nation. Nevertheless,
some inhabitants argue that there are far more important things which verify a nation's
development(Rugh, Andrea, 2012). This paper strength of character to talk about the advantages of
education in the development of a country. Because of education nations & societies able to get the
best benefits a lot. Education can benefit a nation and the society a lot. After getting education, we
would be able to apply our full potential and make further contributions to our societies. Therefore,
society be capable to attain a higher rank of culture and turn out to be more flourishing as the largest
part of the citizens are well brought–up and well–educated. If each and every citizen can get a sound
education, I believe the country will turn out to be more viable and win more respect from other
countries around the globe. Education can customs good citizens. A nation with good inhabitants
will contribute to developing the country. In comparison with less educated people, those who are
well educated have greater chances to get better job & with respect.

The Balance of Payments Accounts (BOP Accounts)

 The BOP accounts record a country's payments to and its receipts from foreigners.  The BOP
accounts also show the sources of demand and supply of a country's currency in the foreign
exchange market.

The BOP accounting uses the system of double–entry bookkeeping: every international transaction
automatically enters the BOP accounts twice, once as a credit and once as a debit. It is because if we

Our Country's Good
Our Country's Good by Timberlake Wertenbaker
"Our Country's Good," a play by Timberlake Wertenbaker, is about a group of English convicts
bound for Australia by sea in 1788. In the first scene, Sideways, a convict on board the ship, is being
brutally whipped and we are introduced to the constant, overwhelming fear, hunger and despair that
the convicts are going through.
We are also introduced to all the officials on board. They are debating the punishment of hanging
that three of the convicts have received for stealing, and we see the different attitudes different
characters have to this. Governor Arthur Phillip supports a humane approach to dealing with the
convicts, but Judge David Collins believes that the law must be ... Show more content on

However, Captain Phillip inspires Clark to go on. In the second rehearsal Robbie Ross is causing
disruption yet again, however, as the convicts begin to act regardless, Ross finds himself impressed
and any further impediments cease.
Liz Morden is sentenced to hanging as a result of accusations of her stealing. She asks Harry Brewer
to tell Ralph Clark, after she is hanged, that she was innocent all along, so that he knows the truth.
However, Harry suffers a stroke and collapses at this point, after having been mentally ill for quite a
while. He dies that night, with
Duckling by his side.
The officers debate Liz's sentence. Captain David Collins does not support the verdict as he states
that there is only circumstantial evidence and Liz refused to verify or speak up about any part of the
situation. However, Robbie Ross still considers her guilty. Liz Morden is then brought in and the
officers urge her to talk "for the good of the colony ... and of the play". Liz does indeed speak
eventually, and she is found innocent. Therefore "The Recruiting Officer" goes on as well. Finally,
the performance night comes. The convicts' different aspirations are revealed, with Dabby wanting
to escape back to her beloved Devon, Wisehammer wanting to become a writer and Sideways
planning to start a theatre company in Australia. There is a sense of triumph among the convicts as

Political Science And Its Foundations
Political science is the study concerned chiefly with the description and analysis of political and
especially governmental institutions and processes, according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary.
Overall, political science and its foundations as a whole, is the study of the governments, their
characteristics, and all that they stand for, the citizens and their role in our country's political system,
and all the processes and documents involved in running our country. All governments are unique in
their own ways, diverging from older civilizations, but America's government and political systems
are based off the country's necessity for a governing body that will protect the citizens' inalienable
rights while assisting them in making decisions for the greater good, while enforcing and punishing
people for wrongdoings outlined by the laws and regulations of our nation. Although there are
alternative governmental systems that would suffice for running our country, America has created a
form of limited government, using the system of checks and balances and multiple governmental
branches to regulate the political process, with an ultimate goal of representing the citizens
quintessentially, meeting all their needs to create the authentic American Dream. The governmental
system of our nation was fabricated on the principles of giving the American citizens the rights of
living a life with property, individual thinking, freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Along

The Value Of The National Debt
The Actual National Debt
When the economists talk about the national debt, they talk about the ratio of the national debt to the
Gross Domestic Product. Well, why do they compare those two concepts, instead of just giving us
the sum of the national debt?
In order to answer this question we will have to define what is the national debt, and what is the
GDP.
The National Debt
The National Debt is the sum of all past federal deficits, minus any surpluses. (Rittenberg, L. and
Tregarthen, T., 2012). To put it another way, it is how much the country owns; to banks, foreign
governments, and even private lenders.
The Gross Domestic Product
Gross Domestic Product (GDP), on the other hand, is a measure of the total value of all goods
produced in a country each year. In a sense it is the total income of a country in a year, but not the
total income of the government, since they collect only part of the GDP in tax revenues each year.
Why GDP is Relevant
Consequently, the national debt compares to the national income, as a percentage of the total GDP;
for the reason that the GDP serves as a benchmark against which we can compare with the debt,
without the necessity of knowing anything about the country's state of the economy.
Quite similar practices are being employed by the banks when lending to the consumers; the banks
will only lend to a certain percentage of our after tax incomes.
As an example; let's assume that a household yearly income is a $100.000; if they decide to apply

Australian Flag Persuasive Speech
Good Morning Members of the Australian Flag Committee, A country's flag is its most important,
valuable and honourable representation. By looking at it, one can understand all about that country's
history, people and values. As we are choosing a new flag for Australia, we should choose one that
tells the story of Australia from the beginning till the end. Some might be wondering, what is wrong
with our current Australian flag? Well I ask you, does the three elements, the Union Jack, the
Commonwealth Star and the Southern Cross tell the complete story of Australia? Does it represent
the unity, culture and understanding in our country and among our people? The first reason why we
should adopt my design as our new flag is because it symbolizes the unity of all our states and
territories. Without having the symbol made of 8 stars united by one big star present on the flag, we
will all forget the importance of working together as one to make a better Australia. Every day, our
country is faced with many problems. It could be environmental, governmental or economical.
Without the help of all 6 states and 2 territories, our country, Australia, cannot move forward and be

people of different cultures, but may also promote a country's reputation worldwide. Conversely,
there is the opposite view that intercultural encounters are less desired by tourists that often assume
that a country owns only natural resources like beaches and parks. They visit the country and return

Robespierre justified the use of terror in France by stating that terror was necessary for the rebellion.
For example, in an excerpt of Robespierre's speech to the National Convention, he states, "virtue,
without which terror is fatal; terror, without which virtue is powerless" (Robespierre, 1794). This is
said in order to show that France would crumble if virtue did not come without terror, meaning that
France would fall if the good did not come without the bad. This shows that Robespierre thought
terror was necessary for the rebellion because he believed that his country would be doomed without
terror. Additionally, Robespierre also stated to the convention, "terror is nothing other than justice,

The United States Congress designed the Federal Reserve Bank to supply the country with a stable
financial system. In addition, the Federal Reserve is held responsible for managing the country's
monetary policy. Also, it is obligated to play a serious part in controlling the function of the
country's payment system. The significance of the Federal Reserve (Feds) is to control the money
supply as well as other finances for the United States. Since the Feds control the money supply, it
gives the United States authority over the American credit. Also, the Feds can navigate how slow or
how fast the economy will increase, just by moving upward or downward the central interest rate.
Lastly, the Feds are supposed to be the main resource at the time of a financial crisis. Deflation is
the decrease in prices of goods and can cause unbalance in the economy. Deflation is worse than
inflation because deflation can cause companies to have too much goods in their stock and leads to
laying off workers. In addition, credit crunch (which is when consumers cannot get big loans) starts
and leads to more deflation across the nation. In the end, deflation leads to depression, such as the

Our Country's Good- Directing Act 1 Scene 9
As a director, discuss how you would stage the following extract from 'Our Country's Good' in order
to bring out your interpretation of it for an audience. Wertenbaker's play Our Country's Good aimed
to push the boundaries of theatre and deliver a political message as potent now as it was in the 80's
when the play was written. Thatcher was in power in the 1980's and it was her attempt to abolish the
arts that ironically inspired a huge swell in the writing of many political plays which drew attention
to the dire situation Thatcher was leading Britain into. The main message Wertenbaker aimed to
convey was the redemptive power of the arts, highlighting their ability to heal even the most broken

It also shows the un–orderly nature of Ralph's thoughts as he changes from subject to subject. When
midnight finally comes and Ralph states "This being Sunday, took your picture out of its prison and

voyeurs. As the actor begins this line, I would have him knees on the floor his back to the audience,
on the word "prison" he would hold his wife's photo up with one hand and begin undoing his
trousers with the other, as if they are the prison he speaks of. He would then begin to make the
actions of masturbation still with his back to the audience and to Ketch who the audience can see
approaching from outside the tent. The actor playing Ketch I would wish to multirole as Robby Ross
later in the play as it is within the Brechtian style to have a minimal cast all playing a range of
characters; but this means that his physical features have to be befitting both characters. To do this I
would cast a tall man, because as Ross this would appear threatening however as Ketch his size
would assist in making him appear clumsy and brutish, more pitiful than powerful. He would have
darker skin than Ralph as he is a convict and would have to work outdoors, to hide this when
playing Ross the actor would put on a military jacket covering his arms which are on show when the
actor is only in Ketch's ragged shirt.

America is our home so we need to take care of it. If we don´t respect and care for our country, it
will fall apart. We need to be responsible and make decisions that help our country become the best
it can be rather than hinder it. I believe that it is our responsibility to follow the laws set in our
constitution and follow our own morals. Today's ideasideals are not what they should be. People are
more focused on what's popular and what looks cool, even at the expense of our country's well
being. Today's society is more in tune with the next iPphone coming down the line than who is
being elected president. We need to shift our focus to what really matters. We need to start realizing
that if we keep going down the path we started we will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
America was created by ingenuity that helped win our freedom, and built on moral standards that
are all but loist today. We need to get back to what made our nation great. We have become so in
tuned with ourselves that we forgot what we used to be. We used to believe in true freedom and now
we are slaves to our own greedy wants. We need to break free from the social norms and become
what we used to be. It is our responsibility to bring American back to what our founding fathers
envisioned. They were focused on creating a fair and just government. Today anyone who obtains
power tries more than anything to grow and extend their power. We need to realize that people like
that don't need power in the first place. They don't need to be given authority over the American
people. Greedy people don´t need to have control over us. All in all, we are a country that is falling
from grace. We have lost sight of what we were and are not on the right track to fix it. We need to
stop and take a good long look at ourselves in the mirror. We need to find a way to get back to what
we were when we started out. And most importantly, we need to stop putting our individual needs in

Why Is Education Important To The Future Of The United...
Former Senator Blanche Lincoln remarks, "Whether it's making sure that families have access to
quality health care and child care, or making sure that our children receive the best educational
opportunities we can give them, we must remain committed to these needs because our children are
our future." Lincoln's assertion is a fundamental aspect of the America that I believe in, because
education is important to the well–being and the future of our great country.
I believe that education is the best way to benefit our nation because it provides freedoms and ample
opportunities for the youth in America. These children will become our country's future parents,
politicians, and even the next president. Therefore, I believe that it would be unjust

No Child By Nilaja Sun
The play "No Child", written by Nilaja Sun showcases a teacher, Ms. Sun as a teaching artist who is
under a grant to facilitate the production of a play, teaching and encouraging live theoretical
performances in a dysfunctional environment. No Child is a reflection of Nilaja Sun's experiences as
a teaching artist in the public school system in New York. In the play Ms. Sun brings a senses of
hope and inspiration not only to the students but to the teachers as well in one of the toughest
classrooms of Malcolm X High School, in Bronx, New York. The narrator of the play is a observant
Janitor of the Malcolm X High School. Since he has been performing his job related duties as a
janitor he witnessed the struggles and obstacle faced by the school and students. No Child accurately
illustrates students, teachers and communities imprisoned by a corrupted public school system.
The readers are introduced to Ms. Sun in Scene Three in the beginning of the play. Her intentions
were to go into one of the worst class room throughout the school and have the students participate
in Timberlake Wertenbaker's Our Country's Good in six weeks. Considering the fact that Malcolm x
High School is not a performing arts school, she insisted on connecting with the students and
obtaining their interest. She also encouraged the kids to invite their family and friends to the
performance. At first the students were opposed to acting in a play and thought the play was
rediculous. The students had

An Amazing Play, Our Country's Good, Written by Timerlake...
On February 21st Friday at 8pm, I went to watch an amazing play called Our Country's Good which
was written by British Screenwriter Timberlake Wertenbaker and directed by Jack Young. It was
performed at Jose Quintero Theatre inside of Cynthia Woods Building at University of Houston. The
theme of the play was human ability to overcome hardships by uniting and feeling sense of self–
worth and hopeful for the future through the power of theatre as it was greatly portrayed through the
protagonist and antagonist motivation, performers' acting, design and lastly but not least the reaction
of the audience. There is two protagonists in the show who are Captain Philip played by Michael
Thatcher and 2nd Lieutenant Clark played by Tom Conry and the antagonist is Major Ross played
by Crash Buist. The protagonists' motive is to teach the convicts moral values and how to express
themselves fully through acting in a play which enable the convicts to create a society that would
value individuality and treat the convicts as human beings instead of animals who get beaten and
hanged for a simple crime as stealing food. On the other hand, the antagonist Major Ross expresses
conservative opinions about the play and opposes the play as his motivation was to stop the play and
not let the convicts feel like self– opinionated humans. He tried to hang innocent people and do not
even ask them if they committed the crime or not. The main conflict between protagonist and
antagonist was

Everything we need is in our daily life is based on demand...
Everything we need is in our daily life is based on demand and supply. The country is based on the
effects of both demand and supply. Whenever demand is affected it lead to shortage of various needs
that are in demand and whenever supply is affected it leads to shortage of supply in the country's
economy. Moreover the things we need in our daily life is also affected on both demand and supply.
Demand leads to the total quantity on goods or services that are needed to buy various commodities
and supply is the quantity of goods and services business will make available to make profits. Thus
in our daily life everything is based on the demand and supply from a small commodity to a large

Moreover the university known as fraser valley had the highest prices so far in any of the market by

which is locate in Ontario and where the value of land was increased by 25 percent. This also stated
that the demand is affected by the operations of farmland which also further expanded. Now a days,
increase in the demand of the farmland led to increase in the number of buyers for various lands
which also affected the price in the economy. As after increase in prices of farmland there was a
huge increase in rate of the agricultural commodities. Thus sometimes demand exceeds supply and
sometimes supply exceeds demand. When demand exceeds is known as quantity demanded and
when supply increased is knows and quantity supplied. Both demand and supply are effected on
basic reasons as each and every other country's economic transactions and various type of goods and
services are affected by the forces of demand and supply. Sometimes the economy lowers or equals
the demand and supply and this will lead to equilibrium in the economy where the demand is equal
to supply so the price of farmland will be in control in form of every other country. Mostly demand
in the economy is increased by both demand of the products and related to all

The Debt Ceiling: Why it Hurts America Essay
The Debt Ceiling: Why it Hurts America In 1917, the United States Congress applied the concept of
a "debt ceiling". Prior to 1917, Congress had to directly authorize the amount of each borrowing.
The debt ceiling was put in place to provide more flexibility to finance the US involvement in World
War I. After the application of the debt ceiling, the United States Treasury could borrow any amount
needed as long as it keeps the total at or below the authorized ceiling. I believe a debt ceiling is a
very necessary component of American politics as long as it is used correctly; however, it has been
abused by frequent increases, and should be monitored more effectively. On August 2nd, 2011, the
date estimated by the Department of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our government did not make the right move, and we will all see the consequences of it in the long
run. Instead of raising the debt ceiling to around $15.4 Trillion dollars, Mr. Obama should have
placed at least the same amount of spending cuts as the proposed raised debt ceiling, if not more.
The debt ceiling debate really comes down to your individual view on fiscal economics. If a person
follows the general conservative view they recognize the fact that a government can only spend as
much as it takes in. A liberal point of view would see a country's spending as a necessary part of
keeping a functioning society, and that debt is a side affect of this process. If a country continues to
build insurmountable debt, an individual or business is less likely to invest in that country's bonds or
economy in general because they may worry about whether they will be able to cash out and get
their money. This depreciation in investor confidence could eventually lead to a drop in the country's
credit rating from the major financial institutions. A drop in credit rating for a country's bonds shows
an overall lack of stability for that country. A decrease in investments in bonds and stocks for a
country can hurt GDP and eventually send the country into a recession due to the governments
inability to run efficiently. Although some people may be liberal in all political issues

expectations of genre and their view of the outside world' Compare and contrast your two texts in

the reader or an audience come to expect certain things either when reading text or watching a play.
Writers who choose to write within a chosen genre therefore are expected to write in a particular
style, so any writer who operates outside the typical boundaries of their genre will naturally

Ernestina is presented as obedient and demure, with an deep fear of sexuality – the 'payment' she
would have to make to have children seemed 'excessive' to her, showing her attitude (and what was

evil character, easily identifiable by those who read the gothic fiction of the time yet unidentifiable
due to her many nicknames – 'Tragedy' or 'The French Loot'n'nt's Tenant's Hore'. In Our Country's
Good, rather than typical characters, Wertenbaker's characters are very closely related to the people
she bases them on. This is despite the fact that the play itself is based on the novel 'The Playmaker'
by Thomas Keneally – there is evidence to suggest that very similar people to her characters actually
existed. A historical play does not rely on typical characters, but does rely on typical features, such
as an explanation of the main message through speeches – this is clearly evident as Wertenbaker
bases her entire play on the power of speech; 'Wertenbaker questions the power of language, but
also celebrates the beauty of language'. However, both 'The French Lieutenant's Woman' and 'Our
Country's Good' also challenge the associations naturally made through the genre they supposedly
conform to, mainly through their narrative devices. FLW is generally acclaimed to be 'the best–

Brave And Servant Leader : Martin Luther King, Jr.
"We the people of the United States..."(United States Constitution). Those few words were the
beginning of a new era in history. Seven little words and the dream began. In this new government,
the people were most important. Prophetically, the founders of America built a framework where
this could actually be true for all people like never before in history. Brave and Servant Leaders
would sacrifice and strive to see "We the people" become a reality for all men and women of
America. They stand in our history like watchtowers bearing lessons to be carried forward to our
future. One of those leaders who inspire me is Martin Luther King, Jr. His bright light in this world
leaves many lessons relevant and important for our country's future. His legacy teaches: great
leaders do not settle, great leaders inspire others to service, great leaders take action for the good of
all people, and great leaders admit mistakes and learn from them. Just as Martin Luther King, Jr.
would not compromise on his vision to see equality for all men and women, neither should leaders
of today settle when it comes to our future as a nation. Strong leadership requires uncompromising
dedication to one's goals for improving the future. It is imperative not to settle for temporary fixes
because future generations are counting on the leadership of today to ensure that our country
remains strong. Martin Luther King, Jr. said we must "... remind America of the fierce urgency of

The Corporate American Model Of Capitalism
Capitalism is good. In reading the articles, it seems scholars are either pro or anti–capitalism. The
corporate American model of capitalism is built upon free enterprise and encourages competition.
It's also called the Liberal/Social Democratic model. Our economy, supposedly, encourages and
rewards competition and equality. Yet the lack of competition and equality in our economy are
issues scholars take aim at the most. George (2013) wrote in his editorial, "In the United States,
income inequality has escalated since the 1970s while millions of workers and their families are
suffering the devastation of long–term unemployment or work that is insecure and unstable....That
is, the tenets of American corporate capitalism (ACC) might be in contradiction to compassionate
organizing. ACC is an ideology that emphasizes, among other things, the pursuit of self–interest,
competition, market exchange, consumerism, and using a profit/loss criterion to make decisions in
organizations (George, J. 2013)." I'm pro–capitalism and I understand the views of those who are
anti–capitalism. Capitalism is an economic system which allows private and corporate ownership of
capital goods; investments that are controlled and determined by privately owned entities; pricing,
production and distribution of goods in a competitive free market. Adam Smith is considered the
Father of Capitalism and he described capitalism as a system with an invisible hand that would

How Did Confucius Have An Ordered Society
According to Confucius people needed to fulfil certain duties so they could live in harmony. An
ordered society is reliant on a set of laws and punishment put in place by a government, however
according to Confucius a society needs a ruler who honours the five good things, for people to
accept their place in society, and educated people serving their government.
First and foremost according to Confucius an ordered society needs a ruler who honours the five
goods things (James Legge). A leader honours the five good things when he is beneficent without
great expenditure, when he lays tasks on people without their repining, when he pursues what he
desires without being covetous, when he maintains a dignified ease without being proud, and when
he is majestic without being fierce ("The Analytics"). These ideals help guide a country's leader to
do what is right by telling him to things for his country while being humble and respectful to others.
Without these ideals a leader could lose control of his country either by the force of another country
or by losing his people's respect. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

brothers to elder brothers (Miles Dawson, 1915). These relationships are still around today and they
are one of the main reasons the world has order in it. Without these relationships people wouldn't

Summary Of The NovelThe Fractable Republic
In the book, "The Fractured Republic" the author, Yuval Levin tells of how he is a strong
conservative, but he looks at both sides of our country's dysfunctional political polar division in this
perceptive look at the country's acute crisis of social fragmentation. This book describes how
striving for a finer future means to not glamorize the past. In Levin's view he believed conservative
values seemed to come from the early 1980's, more specifically 1981. The year Ronald Reagan was
put into office as President of the United States. On the other hand the Democrats hold onto the year
1965. At this point Lyndon B Johnson campaign against poverty and racial injustice was booming.
Levin argues that neither party has the direct answer to the most pressing contemporary challenges
facing the US.
Levin tells us that he thinks the left is extremely socialist and that the right is hyper–individualistic.
He believes that neither are up to the urgent task of uniting this country's fractured nation. Both have
had their economic security and social order weakened by each other, yet the political system shows
little to no awareness of these problems. Levin's has shared his concern is in agreement among many
other social thinkers. He names Robert Putnam, Bill Bishop, and Charles Murray as other scholars
who agree with Levin, but also have their own added ideas. Robert Putnam is a Harvard academic,
has sorrow in the decline of social capital in our society. Bill Bishop, is a known

Wertenbaker's dramatic exploration of identity in Our Country's Good – How does theater convey
the exploration of identity? The play Our Country's Good, written by Timberlake Wertenbaker,
illustrates the characters' exploration of identity, whether through their belonging to a society,
through theater and thus language, or through the social experiment the setting up of the play
represents. The word drama, first used in the course of the 16th century, comes from the Greek
drama, meaning "action", or "to do". In Wertenbaker's Our Country's Good, one of the aims of
drama is to exhibit a picture of human life, and consider some of the difficulties a human being

Theater brings a new identity, along with the blurring of social classes: in a play, everyone is equal
and the convicts are finally listened to as well as respected. The identity is not this of a group based
on social class anymore, but on mutual respect and on the understanding of each other's worth.
Wertenbaker, through Captain Phillip, uses Rousseau's egalitarian thoughts to qualify this change:
"human beings have an intelligence which has nothing to do with the circumstances in which they
are born", in Act two Scene two: all humans have an innate worth that cannot be ignored and is part
of the identity they are subconsciously seeking during their whole life. The Recruiting officer itself
is the microcosm of this society in which everyone wants to find a place: there is a fight between
different classes, as Melinda doesn't want to marry Worthy any more but a wealthier captain because
she inherited a large sum of money. Furthermore, the play is also an illustration of sin in a way, such
as Sylvia when she pretends to be Rose and is accused of ravishing her. It also reflects impossible
love and sexual frustration, which drive the characters during the whole play. Indeed, in Our
Country's Good, the characters also explore identity through sexuality. Harry dies of sexual
repression and above all sexual paranoia, as he is haunted by Handy Brewer, a convict whom he has
hanged

Is Torture Acceptable Research Paper
Is Torture Acceptable? Torture of a person is defined as the action of inflicting severe pain on
someone as a punishment or to force them to do something. Tormenting a person who is a severe
threat to our country's freedom is acceptable as long as they are not tortured to death. The torture
given should depend on the harshness of the threat they are inflicting on the country and the people
that inhabit it. Examples of severe threats could include terrorism, spying, fake news, fraudulence,
and many more. These are the types of threats the government should be focusing on. In today's
culture, there are many times torture is used as a punishment or as an exchange for information. One
instance that torture was used was the events leading up to Osama Bin Laden's capture and murder.
In order to find this evil man, torture was required so that Bin Laden would not be able to continue
his hostile acts any longer. If torture was not used, there could still be a chance Osama Bin Laden
would be roaming around to this day. Torture can be a useful tool. Many times torture is used to
gather information that is needed to secure the country's freedom from threats. By using torture,
citizens have been protected from possible attacks, just like when Osama Bin Laden was captured.
Torture can also act as a deterrent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The BOP accounting uses the system of double–entry bookkeeping: every international transaction

jobs are steadily decreasing. With this the percentage of unemployed Americans are increasing

thus he should say these lines with a yearning tone, soft intonation and a breathy voice conveying
his love for his wife.
In his second paragraph "Dined on a cold collation but the Mutton which had been killed yesterday

show us that even the officers are finding it hard in this alien existence.
This line captures a strong feeling of dismay and disdain; thus
Ralph's tone should be distressed, high pitched and fast paced to show his agitation, wrinkling his
nose in disgust as he recounts the vile horrors of maggots in their food.
In his final paragraph, Ralph's tone has changed again on the lines
"On Sunday as usual... run away". His voice should become soft toned, tender and soothing on the

hope. This should be in contrast to the next part of the sentence "was very much frightened by the

Introduction
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is the most common and widely used measurement by most of the
countries in the world. The primary purpose of this measurement is to measure country's particular
year economy's output and production (Picardo, 2013). In other words, it represents the total value
of all the final goods and services produced in the economy during a particular year. GDP shows an
overall picture of the country's economy performance and enable the policymakers and bankers to

Limberlake Wertenbaker Play Analysis

  • 1. Limberlake Wertenbaker Play Analysis Plot synopsis (200 words): Timberlake Wertenbaker structures Our Country's Good with two core groups: the convicts and the authoritative ship crew. The play centers around crime and punishment, and whether the right punishments are really being issued. It seems that for the crimes being committed, the punishments are too extreme. Wertenbaker's characters begin to question morality. Members of the crew question if flogging/hanging is really the best form of "entertainment", and rather putting on a play could possibly provide some healing and redemption for the convicts. Second Lieutenant Ralph Clark heads the production of the play as suggested by the governor. Throughout the duration of the play we encounter convicts, one central convict being, Liz Morden. Her outlook on everything is quite dark, but her participation in the play opens her up and she prevents her own hanging. Eventually, the more the convicts and ship crew involve themselves in the art of theatre, the more united they become, and redemption occurs for all involved. Drama has become a form of consolation and rejuvenation, revealing a more optimistic and bright world, as opposed to former hopeless and gloomy world that the audience first encountered at the beginning of Wertenbaker's play. Dialogue (200 words): Is the dialogue believable? Is there variation between characters or do they sound the same? As a reader of Our Country's Good, I do not find the dialogue to be completely believable. The play has a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. The Consequences Of Debt In The United States The United States of America is currently being stared down by twenty trillion dollars in debt. This debt is not to be blamed one political party, but rather the entire American population since the beginning of our country's existence. We have been spending our money as if we are a large country, but taxing our people like we are a small country. The debt of our country is battling a "physical cancer that is growing inside of us that could bring about catastrophic consequences." There are four deficits: budget, savings, trade, and leadership, aiding our country's debt crisis. Each of these deficits has their own influence on debt, and each of them has a possible solution. A budget is the amount of money that is allowed to spend for over a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. The Great Recession Of 2008 Stefanos Lazaridis Professor Demiray Economics 200 October 18, 2015 Great Recession of 2008 The Great Recession in 2008 led to a huge crisis in the United States economy. This recession almost led to the entire collapse of the United States economy due to the constant unstable changes in legislation, regulation, along with the changes in fiscal and monetary policies. Furthermore, many economists believe that the increase of excess monetary and government irresponsibility led to the overall crisis in the mid to late 2000's. Some economists believe that the oversupply of monetary contributed to the 2008 crisis due to low interest rate targets that were substantially below the monetary requirement. In this paper I will discuss the effects of the changes in monetary and fiscal policies that altered the economy in 2008 as well as the current and desired gross domestic product for the future United States economy. The United States fiscal policy can be defined by how the United States government collects revenue which is usually through taxes from consumers, and how the government spends (expenditures) the money collected in order to influence the economy. Moreover, many Keynesian economists believe that by adjusting level of taxation and government expenditures, supply and demand could also impact aggregate demand. For example, if John says that there needs to be an increase in jobs to enhance overall stimulation in the future economy, he would have to allocate resources and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Five Themes Of Economy In The United States There are 5 themes of history; culture, citizenship, geography, government, and economy. They all hold vital importance to us, whether in history or not. But which impacts us the most? I believe that it is the theme economy that impacts us the most because of how it affects our country's well–being and our resources. One reason I believe that economy is the theme that impacts us the most is because of how it affects our country and it's well–being. For example, a recent CNNMoney article states, "This is investors being opportunistic and buying on the weakness. Unless you think there's going to be some massive slowdown in the economy, all of a sudden equities at these levels look attractive again." This quote shows that economy is very important ... • 6. Walmart Argumentative Essay Every successful business have a bad side to it, such is Walmart, one of the top topic these days for cheating hours off their workers, low wages, and using public's money (subsidies) for their business. There have been many reports against walmart, but we have rarely seen anything about it on the news or on any other popular site, and there have been too little thing done about it. Walmart have to be more in–check with the Union or the government, because walmart have done many things that hurt their employees and the community just for some profit, and get away with it. Some people might not see walmart as a threat of any kind, but walmart is a big trouble for our community, to small businesses, and our country's economy. Walmart is not helping our country's economy, instead it is destroying our country's economic; walmart is also not helping the people of the country, instead it mistreated them, pay their associates poorly, discriminated their customers and associates, and will do anything to make profits. All the money that walmart have is unimaginable, and should be time for them to give back to the community or the country, instead, they still trying to squeeze out as much money as possible from both the people and the government, and that is just pure materialistic. • 7. Our Country's Good Authoritarianism In Our Country's Good, the characters of authority; including Ross and Tench are both prejudice against the convicts for the fact that they are convicts. This treatment includes their lack in hope for rehabilitation of the convicts through theatre, expressed through brutal violence. Ross especially finds violence to be necessary in maintaining control over the convicts. Despite Ross has almost no redeeming factors, the criticism of authority figures in Our Country's Good does not seem to be relentless as Phillip and Ralph help in teaching the convicts, attempting to reform them through performing a play. The criticism of authoritarian figures in Jerusalem is not dominantly expressed through the actual authoritarian characters; including Fawcett, Parsons, the Kennet and Avon Council, the pub owners and the new estate owners. Our Country's Good and Jerusalem both seem to be criticised by their playwrights thanks to their choice of whether to have the authoritarian characters commit violence or restrict themselves. However, Ross takes advantage of the RSA; control created by force, in Our Country's Good its taken advantage of by Ross, in contrast, the ISA is used in form of The Recruiting Officer, the play the physically defenceless convicts perform in hope for rehabilitation and escape from Ross' RSA. This time of crisis will come to an end as we, the people, think of the freedom we will have after being fully in control of ourselves and abolishing the kings monarchy in our new nation. This war is causing most of our debt by buying support and supplies from our allies such as France or Spain. We buy weapons and their troops to help us come out victorious in battle. We do not have enough money to pay them back, due to our country's current predicament. Our allies in Europe helped through these times by giving us, the Americans, money so that our country may survive this brutal war. If we push through all the problems we will be our own free country standing proud and free. Because of our great government's great loss of money we have to institute paper money and distribute it among the colonies as to give assurance that we have money and can pay off our great debt of around 77million dollars. This caused our kindling nation to crumble into inflation forcing us, the people, to pay too much for goods, lowering demands for such goods. We can succumb this problem and reain American wealth through fighting our nation's war along with our own, as we are becoming a free country we need to focus on the foundation of the rebellion focusing on our freedom. We do not have the silver or gold to back up our paper money and this is why our great nation suffers from inflation. In all the cases, we have increased our efforts to specialize in our respective field and take it to an entirely new level (Hood, 2007). There was a time when our company had few resources, and we had to opt for improvising and using the available resources to get us going. The following year we were able to get enough resources, and we got back to our feet (Ifezuo, 2011). During this period, there was war prevailing in our country. Availability of resources became scarce due to the war. The limit of resources started to decline the economy of our country and most companies stated recycling as a method of finding resources (Marshall, 2010). 2) Vision and mission (what is the goal or point on the horizon) Target: Managers across the country can have impressive progress for their organizations through re–designing and strong performance. We are also introduced to all the officials on board. However, Captain Phillip inspires Clark to go on. In the second rehearsal Robbie Ross is causing disruption yet again, however, as the convicts begin to act regardless, Ross finds himself impressed and any further impediments cease. Liz Morden is sentenced to hanging as a result of accusations of her stealing. She asks Harry Brewer to tell Ralph Clark, after she is hanged, that she was innocent all along, so that he knows the truth. However, Harry suffers a stroke and collapses at this point, after having been mentally ill for quite a while. He dies that night, with Duckling by his side. The officers debate Liz's sentence. Captain David Collins does not support the verdict as he states that there is only circumstantial evidence and Liz refused to verify or speak up about any part of the situation. • 16. Political Science And Its Foundations Political science is the study concerned chiefly with the description and analysis of political and especially governmental institutions and processes, according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary. Overall, political science and its foundations as a whole, is the study of the governments, their characteristics, and all that they stand for, the citizens and their role in our country's political system, and all the processes and documents involved in running our country. All governments are unique in their own ways, diverging from older civilizations, but America's government and political systems are based off the country's necessity for a governing body that will protect the citizens' inalienable rights while assisting them in making decisions for the greater good, while enforcing and punishing people for wrongdoings outlined by the laws and regulations of our nation. Although there are alternative governmental systems that would suffice for running our country, America has created a form of limited government, using the system of checks and balances and multiple governmental branches to regulate the political process, with an ultimate goal of representing the citizens quintessentially, meeting all their needs to create the authentic American Dream. The governmental system of our nation was fabricated on the principles of giving the American citizens the rights of living a life with property, individual thinking, freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. • 17. The Value Of The National Debt The Actual National Debt When the economists talk about the national debt, they talk about the ratio of the national debt to the Gross Domestic Product. Well, why do they compare those two concepts, instead of just giving us the sum of the national debt? In order to answer this question we will have to define what is the national debt, and what is the GDP. The National Debt The National Debt is the sum of all past federal deficits, minus any surpluses. (Rittenberg, L. and Tregarthen, T., 2012). To put it another way, it is how much the country owns; to banks, foreign governments, and even private lenders. The Gross Domestic Product Gross Domestic Product (GDP), on the other hand, is a measure of the total value of all goods produced in a country each year. In a sense it is the total income of a country in a year, but not the total income of the government, since they collect only part of the GDP in tax revenues each year. Why GDP is Relevant Consequently, the national debt compares to the national income, as a percentage of the total GDP; for the reason that the GDP serves as a benchmark against which we can compare with the debt, without the necessity of knowing anything about the country's state of the economy. Quite similar practices are being employed by the banks when lending to the consumers; the banks will only lend to a certain percentage of our after tax incomes. As an example; let's assume that a household yearly income is a $100.000; if they decide to apply for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By looking at it, one can understand all about that country's history, people and values. As we are choosing a new flag for Australia, we should choose one that tells the story of Australia from the beginning till the end. Some might be wondering, what is wrong with our current Australian flag? Well I ask you, does the three elements, the Union Jack, the Commonwealth Star and the Southern Cross tell the complete story of Australia? Does it represent the unity, culture and understanding in our country and among our people? The first reason why we should adopt my design as our new flag is because it symbolizes the unity of all our states and territories. Without having the symbol made of 8 stars united by one big star present on the flag, we will all forget the importance of working together as one to make a better Australia. Thus, tourism not only creates and cements a strong friendship between different people of different cultures, but may also promote a country's reputation worldwide. Conversely, there is the opposite view that intercultural encounters are less desired by tourists that often assume that a country owns only natural resources like beaches and parks. This is said in order to show that France would crumble if virtue did not come without terror, meaning that France would fall if the good did not come without the bad. Wertenbaker's play Our Country's Good aimed to push the boundaries of theatre and deliver a political message as potent now as it was in the 80's when the play was written. Thatcher was in power in the 1980's and it was her attempt to abolish the arts that ironically inspired a huge swell in the writing of many political plays which drew attention to the dire situation Thatcher was leading Britain into. The protagonists' motive is to teach the convicts moral values and how to express themselves fully through acting in a play which enable the convicts to create a society that would value individuality and treat the convicts as human beings instead of animals who get beaten and hanged for a simple crime as stealing food. On the other hand, the antagonist Major Ross expresses conservative opinions about the play and opposes the play as his motivation was to stop the play and not let the convicts feel like self– opinionated humans. After the application of the debt ceiling, the United States Treasury could borrow any amount needed as long as it keeps the total at or below the authorized ceiling. Instead of raising the debt ceiling to around $15.4 Trillion dollars, Mr. Obama should have placed at least the same amount of spending cuts as the proposed raised debt ceiling, if not more. The debt ceiling debate really comes down to your individual view on fiscal economics. If a person follows the general conservative view they recognize the fact that a government can only spend as much as it takes in. A liberal point of view would see a country's spending as a necessary part of keeping a functioning society, and that debt is a side affect of this process. If a country continues to build insurmountable debt, an individual or business is less likely to invest in that country's bonds or economy in general because they may worry about whether they will be able to cash out and get their money. This depreciation in investor confidence could eventually lead to a drop in the country's credit rating from the major financial institutions. A drop in credit rating for a country's bonds shows an overall lack of stability for that country. A decrease in investments in bonds and stocks for a country can hurt GDP and eventually send the country into a recession due to the governments inability to run efficiently. Theater brings a new identity, along with the blurring of social classes: in a play, everyone is equal and the convicts are finally listened to as well as respected. The identity is not this of a group based on social class anymore, but on mutual respect and on the understanding of each other's worth. Wertenbaker, through Captain Phillip, uses Rousseau's egalitarian thoughts to qualify this change: "human beings have an intelligence which has nothing to do with the circumstances in which they are born", in Act two Scene two: all humans have an innate worth that cannot be ignored and is part of the identity they are subconsciously seeking during their whole life. The Recruiting officer itself is the microcosm of this society in which everyone wants to find a place: there is a fight between different classes, as Melinda doesn't want to marry Worthy any more but a wealthier captain because she inherited a large sum of money. The balance of payments (BOP) accounts record a country's international transactions with the rest of the world in a given time period.  The BOP accounts record a country's payments to and its receipts from foreigners.  The BOP accounts also show the sources of demand and supply of a country's currency in the foreign exchange market.  The BOP accounting uses the system of double–entry bookkeeping: every international transaction automatically enters the BOP accounts twice, once as a credit and once as a debit. It is because if we buy something from a foreigner, we must pay him/her in some way, and the foreigner must then spend or store our payment, and vice versa.  Credit entry: any transaction resulting in a receipt from foreigners.  Examples include exports of goods, services, or assets.  Debit entry: any transaction resulting in a payment to foreigners  Examples include imports of goods, services, or assets. • 38. Essay On Increasing Cost Of College Neither candidate speaks about the harmful effects on one's finances or the country's economy as a result of people attending college. As the cost of college increases, so does the amount of student debt piling up all over the country. Along with the increase in debt, finding good paying jobs, and sometimes even jobs in general are very difficult. However above all these factors related to our country's grueling economy, while in college we are not taught anything related to the real world's jobs, careers, finances, or pocketbook economics. With the price of college constantly increasing the jobs are steadily decreasing. With this the percentage of unemployed Americans are increasing drastically as well. Even if once you graduate and have a job waiting for you in the real world, the real world is different than the safety net of our schools. Colleges are not preparing the future of our country for the real world, instead they are teaching them what our grandfathers in the 19th century were taught. The play is based on the first penal colony in Australia in 1788–89. The plot is about the first fleet of convicts to the land Australia. It is about the triumph of the human spirit. His first lines give us some insight into his feelings of love for "Dreamt, my beloved Alicia, that I was walking with you and that you was in your riding habit– oh my dear woman when shall I be able to hear from you. Thus, here Ralph is clearly missing his wife, thus he should say these lines with a yearning tone, soft intonation and a breathy voice conveying his love for his wife. In his second paragraph "Dined on a cold collation but the Mutton which had been killed yesterday morning was full of maggots– nothing will keep 24 hours in this dismal country I find–", this line show us that even the officers are finding it hard in this alien existence. This line captures a strong feeling of dismay and disdain; thus Ralph's tone should be distressed, high pitched and fast paced to show his agitation, wrinkling his nose in disgust as he recounts the vile horrors of maggots in their food. In his final paragraph, Ralph's tone has changed again on the lines "On Sunday as usual... run away". His voice should become soft toned, tender and soothing on the lines "kissed your dear beloved image a thousand times", which should invoke a sense of love and hope. This should be in contrast to the next part of the sentence "was very much frightened by the lighting as it broke very near" in which Ralph reveals ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To most people, it sounds like a great idea. Sometimes the poor actually pay more taxes than the rich. The rich has too many ways to trick the system and pay less taxes. What they do not understand is that taxation is very important to every nation. Without taxation, the government won't be able to function, roads won't be fixed, laws won't be enforced and no social services for people to do. Without proper taxation, this nation would be in complete disorder. However, this flat tax system that Cruz is thinking of might work. This system will be fair for all taxpayers. Everyone will be paying the same rate no matter how much their income is (Stoltzfoos). Not only that it is fair, it reduces the work the IRS needs to do by a significant amount. However, it is impossible to abolish the IRS while Obama is still in office. All they could do is simplify things for the people that work for the IRS and lighten up their burden.
