2. Pride and prejudice
The opening of pride and prejudice contain editing techniques
such as;
-Cut from scenes – for example, the first scene contains a nature
scene with trees etc.. Then cuts to the character walking in the
country. This is effective as the audience can link both scenes
together but see a rapid change of the scenery at the same time.
- Graphics- titles have been added and slowly fade on and off of
screen. The pace of the titles fading on and off of the screen is
effective as it sets the mood and atmosphere as peaceful and
subtle and doesn’t represent the film to be a horror or dangerous.
3. Brokeback Mountain
The opening of Brokeback Mountain contains a stark amount of
editing such as;
-Cut from scenes
- music implemented within scenes
- titles being added to opening
- Non digetic sound
- music continuity throughout a couple of scenes in the opening
4. In my own film, the aspects of editing in which I would like to include are;
-Montage
- Voice over (maybe)
- cut from scenes
- titles dissolving on and off screen
- pace of titles to be a reasonable length of time to ensure the audience can read them
- use digetic and non digetic sound if needed
