3. Develop
The masthead for
my magazine takes
A different style than
NME.
Different images
show different facial
expressions and a third
member to my magazine
shows differences.
Slightly different
use of colours but
still follows the same
scheme of red, yellow
and black.
4. Challenge
My magazine contains
less. There are less articles
and only a few uses
of the colour red.
Completely different
fonts. NME uses more
varied fonts than my
magazine.
Completely different angles
of the photos. More people
in my photo. More of a wide
shot.
5. Use
Same use of colours.
Subscribe box.
Use of the masthead.
One main image for
Both contents.
6. Develop
Similar font sizes that
will fit every article.
Similar subscribe boxes
but one does not feature
images of the magazine.
Both have similar images
of the band but my magazine
is in black and white rather
than colour.
7. Challenge
My magazine uses completely
different fonts for the title
of the page and the articles.
My image used for the magazine
is placed on a different angle to
the real magazine. It also uses a
different colour scheme to set a
different mood.
I used a different layout for
the articles in order to challenge
the regular layout of indie
magazine contents pages.
9. Develop
I used different angles as a new approach to the
double page spread. It is a development of the
regular double page spread.
I also used only one, main image to put emphasis
on the band, which is similar to most indie magazines.
The way the band are positioned in the is different to
the band in the real magazine. They are still stood up,
however, they are angled differently.
10. Challenge
The fonts that I used are completely different to the magazines
fonts. This is because I am aiming to use different fonts in order
to add some differences to my magazine.
My double page spread only features one main image which is
opposed to the real magazine using two main images. This is due
to exploring different ways of presenting my magazine. One image
rather than two may leave more focus for the interview.
Another complete difference is the colour scheme. I used red because
I think it tends to stand out more than green, making it more eye catching.
