Day of The Dead Skull
Research
For my digipak I know I want to have an
image of a skull on the front cover and on my
poster as a logo for the band. However, I
need to do a bit of research in order to learn
a little more about the designs. I have chosen
two designs I feel will give an insight into
what I am hoping to design.
For the design I know that I definitely want the
skull to be facing the side and not to be facing
the front as I think it will look too simplistic. I like
the shape of this skull design in particular.
However, I do not want to go with the theme of
the candy skull, for example adding flowers,
hearts and diamonds. I want to keep the design
more grunge than flowery as it would not fit the
bands style or genre.
Here is another design
that I have decided to
look at as again the shape
of the skull is exactly what
I am looking for. I do not
want to include as much
detail as these skulls have
as I feel like if the design
is too realistic that it will
not have the effect that I
want the digipak to have.
