London Ambulance Service Of A Computerized System
LONDON AMBULANCE SERVICE COMPUTER AIDED DISPATCH SERVICE FAILURE London Ambulance Service (LAS), as the name
suggests is a medical emergency service for dispatching ambulances and operating in London. In October 1992, the LAS switched from their prior
manual system to a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system. However, a lot of flaws led to this system's failure. The software engineering process from
my perspective and my approach for handling such a project is illustrated below:
REQUIREMENTS GATHERING AND PLANNING
What happened:
The funding for the development of a computerized system was done in 1974; however the development remained stagnant for a long period of time
until the 13 years later, when the first system was developed. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lack of informing the stakeholders the risks of the project, absence of communications with all the involved stakeholders, misunderstanding of the
software process by the software manager and the software developers also. This affected the requirement gathering, planning, documentation as well as
the implementation.
My approach:
The fundraisers, in this case the LAS management, should be made aware of the pros and cons of meeting their requirements. The software
managers who play an important role can correctly estimate these factors based on their experience. Hence if I was in charge of choosing the
software managers and the company, I would prefer a company at with experience at the cost of cheaper software, taking into consideration that
delivering a flawless product is more important than a flawed inexpensive one. The cost of people's lives can't be put to stake in this case. If I was on
the other side of receiving a contract for the development of a system with limited resources in terms of hardware, time and money, I would try to
present the risks of implementation according to the impossible requirements. If System Options, the company that rejected the deal, presenting the
risks of doing so, just like the other companies, then the stakeholders, who had little idea of the cost of their requirements, would have reconsidered
their funding or the stringent requirements and the root cause of the disaster would have been avoided. DOCUMENTATION

Electronic Device : An Object That Is Controlled By A...
I.Introduction
How many people do you know that do not have some sort of electronic device? The definition of electronic device is "an object that is controlled by a
computerized system" ("Merriam–Webster.com", 2015). In the society that we live in today electronics are becoming a necessity in school and
sometimes in the work environment. This raises the question of why are we becoming dependent upon electronics, when they may end up hurting us
academically. Students who spend more time on electronic devices may spend less on homework or other assignments that require more attention and
thought out responses. Schools are starting to make a lot of assignments due through email and or a school sponsored website (ex. blackboard). There

There are also, "reflowable e–textbooks which use a flexible format system that includes dynamic media and allows the user to modify both the layout
and interactive features of the e–textbook to suit the display medium" (Chesser, 2011). With this being said, it is important to have valid information on
this particular topic because if it is not affecting students in a positive way then it should not be continued.
1.Background/Review of the Literature:
This is a very popular study that has been done over the last few years because of the rise in electronic use in the education system. One study was
done by a group of people sponsored by Liberty University (Rockinson–Szapkiw, Courduff, Carter, & Bennett (2013)). These group of students took a
sample size of 538 university students and examined the relationships between textbook format, grades, and perceived learning scores. The results
found were that students who used e–textbooks had higher levels of affective and psychomotor learning, but there were no notable differences in
cognitive learning nor did final grades suggests that e–textbooks may have an effect in their learning.
Another study looked at the relationship between academic performance and the use of computer technology. This was conducted by three students at
Washburn University (Drain, Grier, and Sun (2012)). The three researchers concluded that an increase in computer usage was correlated with
improvements in academic performance overall. Based on

A Brief Note On The Computerized Patient Record System Essay
Introduction & Assessment
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) operates one of the largest nationwide healthcare systems. (Tsai, 2012). In 1998 the Computerized Patient
Record System (CPRS) was released at a national level. (Lovis, 2011). CPRS has been made possible because of the extensive set of clinical and
administrative application within VistA.
VistA is the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture. It is VA 's Health Information Technology (IT) system. It provides an
integrated inpatient and outpatient electronic health record for VA patients, and administrative tools to help VA deliver quality medical care to
Veterans. (Lovis, 2011). CPRS organizes and presents all relevant data on a patient to support clinical decision–making. It allows clinicians to interact
with the patient's data, add problems, notes and enter orders. It supports alerts, notification and guidelines. (Lovis, 2011). The adaption of VistA to
CPRS, the new addition to this was My HealtheVet portal. My HealtheVet is a secure website. The VA follows strict security policies and practices to
make sure that your personal health information is safe and protected. The My HealtheVet Program is based on the core belief that knowledgeable
patients are better able to make informed healthcare choices, stay healthy, and seek services when needed. The primary goal of the Program is to
support veterans as empowered healthcare consumers with improved quality, access, and

Computerized Timekeeping System For An Electronic Gps System
Abstract
The following paper is about a group of employees working for a company moving from a manual timekeeping system to an electronic timekeeping
system. These staff members are resisting the new electronic timekeeping system, and have a bad attitude on this subject, not understanding why there
has to be changes in the system they are currently using. Three trainers have been selected to change the workers attitude and train them to be
proficient with the new electronic timekeeping system.
There are three basic methods of training that can be used to get the employees onboard with the new electronic timekeeping system. The three trainers
met to review the different methods and discuss which method would be the best method of training for this group of individuals. The trainers started
the process by reviewing and discussing the lecture method of training. Once discussing this method, it was decided that this was not the proper
training method for this group of individuals. Some people find this type of training boring and become disengaged early in the training, resulting in
poor training results.
Next the trainers reviewed the experiential training method and reviewed the four–step process of training. The trainers thought they might get positive
feedback from this type of training, but then decided that if the employees were not interested in learning a new system, case studies and role playing
might not go as the trainers planned. The trainers felt they might

King Conceptual System Theory
An Overview of the Conservation Model and the Conceptual System Theory Everything in life has a purpose for their existence, and each human
being is valued for their strength, knowledge, power but a lack of capability for interacting with their surroundings can bring many obstacles in their
way in other for the meaningful and desirable goals to be reached. King's Theory of Goal Attainment bring a great concentration on the
accomplishments of certain life goals and this can only happen if the nurse and the patient has the capacity to communicate and work together, and
only then these life goals can be achieved (George, 2011).
Levine's model encourages the use of adaptation and maintains integrity, energy through the process of conservation. This is can be done with the help
of nursing care and nursing involvements. With encouraging conservation, a nurse can assist in promoting the person's well– being (George, 2011).
Kings Conceptual System Theory King had many believe based on his Conceptual System Theory, he believes that each person views and interprets the
world as an entire being in making transactions with individuals and things in their surroundings. He also believes that the exchange or interaction
represents a life situation in which the interpreter and what is being interpreted unexpectedly experiences and in which the individual enters the situation
as a dynamic partaker and is individually changed in the process of these

Child oriented (Caners, 2000)
1.Children and adolescents are the core components in structural family theory. Since the beginning this model grew from working with children who
had psychosomatic and behavioral issues. For this reason, working with individuals and couples there is no model specifically for them, just that there
are the same basic concepts as with families just with special considerations. iv. Feminist analysis (Hadfield, 2000)
1.Power differences between sexes and the hierarchy from male to female are noticeable in structural family therapy model. The ideal power structure in
a family structure with two heterosexual parents has the male holding the uppermost power and position in the family. Furthermore, this model does
not take in to account stereotypes and norms within the society the family system is a part of.
2.It is said that women are seen as needing to take an expressive role where men are to take an executive role in order for the family system to remain
stable.
v.Cultural awareness (Hadfield, 2000)
1.When working with families from other cultures the therapist has to be careful when using concepts that are involved with structural family therapy.
For instance, when observing boundaries the therapist needs to remember that in some cultures these boundaries can be less distinct between family

Selecting a Computerized PMIS (Project Management Information System) The software industry offers many packages and online tools that allow
project control and management. Many market offerings are related to the industry for which it is intended. To make a rational, well–informed
selection that can really benefit the organization, we need to establish the selection criteria and the characteristics used to evaluate it, and then asses the
features suitable for the type of business the organization is enrolled in. Real projects are often extremely large, with hundreds of tasks and thousands

–Customizability: The system needs to be able to adapt to any type of operation. This can be done by allowing the PM to rename to re–structure the
project activities and re–label certain tasks, team names, resources, terms, folders, and so on. –Expandability: The system needs to be able to grow with
the organization and at the same time handle a large or unlimited number of concurrent projects. The system also needs to be able to visually and
logically separate between projects while allowing the PM to draw from a global or a customized pool of resources. –Reliability and security: The
system needs to be accessible at any time by any team member. It also needs to provide a high level of security that guards the organizational data and
all relevant information about its projects and activities. –Scheduling: The system needs to support Gantt charts and automatic cost recalculation which
updates times, costs, and resources. The software should also be able to display AON or AOA networks and plots of earliest start, scheduled start, slack
/float, latest finish, planned finish, and actual finish times. Naturally, the tool should allow creating activities and tasks, assigning resources or
individuals, setting deadlines, and drafting timeline diagrams of concurrent tasks/projects. The system should also allow forming teams, groups, and

Importance And Importance Of Maintenance Management
Maintenance Management is an orderly and systematic approach to planning, organizing, monitoring and evaluating maintenance activities and their
costs. A good maintenance management system coupled with knowledgeable and capable maintenance staff can prevent breakdown problems and
environmental damage; yield longer asset life with fewer breakdowns; and result in lower operating costs and a higher quality of heavy machinery.
Importance
Maintenance management is crucial to companies because proper maintenance makes workers aware of the resources with which they have to work.
When workers are aware of the cost and nature of their maintenance resources, they are less likely to be wasteful with those resources. They also are
more aware of how their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ideally, the maintenance management system should be able to record maintenance tasks and inventory/resources, provide feedback to the facilities
operations manager for analysis, and support the needs of the company and its customers. Computerized maintenance management software programs
often can meet these requirements and greatly reduce the amount of work necessary compared to manual systems.
The word "Operation" is usually linked with "Maintenance". To put these terms in context, Operation is the performance of work or services and the
provision of materials and energy to ensure the day–to–day proper functioning of an asset, e.g., the work activities, associated chemicals and electricity
to run a water treatment plant. As such, it has a direct but simple impact on the cost of operating an asset. Maintenance is the work performed on an
asset such as a road, building, utility or piece of equipment to preserve it in as near to its original condition as is practical and to realize its normal life
expectancy. This Technical Information Document, as its name implies, concentrates on maintenance management systems only. In general,
maintenance can be classified into the following

Dorothy Johnson's Theory Of The Behavioral System Model
The behavioral system model is a model developed by Dorothy Johnson. This theory was influenced by Florence Nightingale's book titled notes on
nursing and was developed using work of behavioral scientists in many disciplines such as psychology, sociology, and ethnology. This theory explains
that nurse's specific contribution to patient welfare is to foster an "efficient and effective behavioral functioning in the person, before, during, and after
an illness.
The theory sees a person as a system in which its parts interrelate with each other to form a whole to perform its functions. These interrelated and
interdependent parts are called subsystem which is analyzed and described in term of structural and functional requirement. There are seven subsystems
– attachment, attachment–affiliation, aggressive–protective, dependency, ingestive, eliminative, and sexual with each of them interrelated with the
others and its environment for three functional requirements – protection, nurturance, and stimulation. The four structural elements of the subsystem
include the following: drive (the ultimate cause of behavior), set (a tendency or predisposition to act in a certain way), choice (behavior to use in a
certain situation) and action (behavior of an individual). These requirements must be met through a person's efforts or with the outside assistance of the
nurse to maintain the integrity of the behavioral system.
Also, the model made some assumptions for a better understanding of the

The Theory Of Goal Attainment
In 1981 Imogene King introduced her mid–range Theory of Goal Attainment (this theory has also been referred to as the theory of goal achievement
(Johnson and Webber, 2010)). This theory is based on the grand theory called the Conceptual System, also created by King (Frey et al: 2002). To
understand the more focused mid–range theory it is important to first quickly understand the conceptual system.
The conceptual system was created using systems analysis and systems theory literature (Johnson and Webber, 2010). It was originally referred to as a
conceptual framework, but King changed the terminology in 1997 to Conceptual System (Frey et al, 2002). The conceptual system focused on
decision making in nursing. It is organized around three systems; Personal Systems which pertain to the individual, Interpersonal Systems which
pertain to small groups, and Social Systems which pertain to the society as a whole. King saw these three interacting systems as part of the larger
decision making process of human beings (Frey et al, 2002).
The Theory of Goal Attainment is a middle range theory derived from King's Conceptual System. The Theory of Goal Attainment focuses on the
interactions between the personal, interpersonal, and social systems. Frey et al (2002) describes the central concepts of the theory as "perception,
communication, interaction, transaction, self, role, growth and development, stressors/stress, time, and space." Four specific concepts within the
theory; perception,

How the Use of Computerized Management Systems to Record...
Explain how the use of computerized management systems to record administrative data can increase quality of care in a given situation.
Having a single view of the patient and their treatment and recovery plan is invaluable in ascertaining which are the most and least effective tactics in
treatment. The 360–degree view of the patient and the many processes supporting them is crucial for increasing the accuracy, effectiveness and
performance of treatment programs over time (Blakeman, 1985). Computerized management systems are critical for organizing, analyzing and
translating the massive amount of data captured on patients, treatment and recovery processes, and the use of supporting IT systems to optimize patient
health and organizational provider performance (Peshek, Cubera, Gleespen, 2010). The ability to aggregate and intelligently use all available data,
information, patient–based and process–generated data to deliver higher levels of quality care is possible when computerized management systems are
used throughout healthcare organizations.
Provide a credible and well–supported explanation of using the computerized management systems could increase quality of care.
The greatest levels of credibility in the context of computerized management systems revolve around saving lives of patients and speeding up their
recovery process. Studies of the effectiveness of computerized management systems illustrate that small increases in accuracy and stability of data on

Computerized Physician Order Entry Systems
Computerized Physician Order–Entry systems or CPOE was introduce to the healthcare field to aid in the reduction of medical errors. The goal of an
CPOE system is to reduce healthcare cost by reducing the number of errors, increasing medication safety. With every new product there will always
be some unexpected problems that may surface. In regards to CPOE those unexpected problems are referred to as Unintended Adverse Consequences
or UAC. According to Sittig & Ash, 2011 UAC's are events that are neither anticipated or unanticipated, they are simply unfortunate mistakes that
happens along the way. Altogether they are nine UAC's they range from: never ending system demands, more/new work for clinicians, paper
persistence, changes in communication patterns and practices, new kinds of error, change in the power structure, workflow issues, emotions,
overdependence on technology (Sittig & Ash, 2011). UAC's can have a huge impact on the implementation as well as the ongoing maintenance of the
system. As a result, UAC's can have a negative outcome when it comes to the patient, cause medical cost to be higher and even unforeseen medical
errors. Out of the nine UAC's this analytical report will focus on the workflow issues. Workflow according to (Campbell, Guappone, Sittig, DyksTra,

Personal Reflection
While reading Systems Thinking, The Systems View of Life and Learning as a Way of Leading, I felt as if I was experiencing many contradictory
things at once. I felt as if i was in the past and the future, i was growing and shrinking, peering into a microscope and peering through a telescope all
at the same time. I was taken on a journey through the micro and macro while weaving simultaneously through my own internal and external mental
models of the world. This immersive reading experience sparked a strong desire in me to seek new perspectives and try to understand what others
internal and external mental models look like, what they mean and what they feel like. The concepts and theories presented in the readings have
helped me to solidify some of my own thought processes and ways of thinking about the world so I can put them into action and apply new practices
into my community work and in turn create change. I do know one thing for sure, I want my contributions to be positive and go towards the common
good. The readings reminded about how interconnected everything and everyone is and how fragile life can be. The readings have reinforced my
desire to do good, be creative, think of others more than myself, but to not lose touch with self.
The readings have prompted me to infer that in order to be a compassionate and effective community leader I must put the following practices into
action; stay connected and current, think like a scientist, adapt, and practice patience.

What Is Computerized System Learning?
What is computerized system learning? Computerized learning is essentially the usage of a computer based learning assistance program for education.
Prior to the onset of technology in the classroom and in higher education, the learning in the classroom started with someone writing on a chalkboard
and then posing a question or making a statement, also known as the chalk and talk method. That was the norm. Today that has changed. Technology
and Computerized Systems learning has made learning on the university level more convenient and accessible then ever. To begin let's start when
"technology" was first getting integrated into the classroom setting. In 1890 the latest and greatest technology was the chalkboard. In 1920s the
invention and fascination of the Radio led to an never before used type of learning on– air classes a precursor what we use today with online learning.
By the early 1970s a modern day classroom staple – the Scantron was making its way into schools across America. And finally the computer, which
was introduced to classroom in the mid 80s with laptop by Toshiba and Apple's PowerBook. By 1993 daily computer usage was reaching a level close
to what we see today when the PDA was launched on society by Apple computers. Furthermore until the launch on what became known as Plato in the
mid 1970s education had been influenced by Technology but had yet to computerize technology become an integral part of the educational system. Up
until this point technology

staff. An example is the use of a PDA or tablet. Many healthcare providers are using these items today. These items allow for increased quality of care
allow the physician to access, ordering and review from almost anywhere. They also allow for real–time documentation; meaning with a PDA or tablet,
a physician can be with their patient at the patients bedside placing orders and making notes on the chart, not waiting until after the examination and
after talking with the patient then going to the chart and making notes and placing orders based off memory. PDA's or tablets can also provide
evidence–based decision–support by allowing access to many different resources. This will again allow for improved quality of care for

Computerized Management System: Review and Recommendation
Computerized Management System: Review and Recommendation In this day and age, the right computerized management system can make a
tremendous different in the professional healthcare arena. However, this difference could be either positive or negative. The wrong system could make
day to day tasks of any healthcare facility exponentially longer, and make the task of training various team members on how to use the system
exponentially longer and more involved. However, the right system could have the reverse effect, cutting time for various jobs in half and possessing
an intuitiveness that helps healthcare professionals master the system in record time. The two following computerized management systems are
recommended: Healthcare Management Systems (HMS) and Vitera Healthcare solutions. These systems were chosen for their reputation and
comprehensiveness and their long period of time serving the field of healthcare professionals.
Quality of Care Instilling either of these systems could significantly increase the quality of care in a number of ways. The biggest way that these
systems accomplish this is by making all patient–related fiscal issues run smoother, so that the succession of care, tests and treatments is able to occur
in a more cogent manner. This allows healthcare professionals to engage in daily task like data prep, coding and billing in a more instantaneous and
error–free manner for all patients. Programs like HMS sees to it that "Primary, secondary, and

What Is The System Of A Computerized System
According to the E–R diagram shown as above, the new computerised system would establish four different tables in the database. In addition, those
four different tables would be used to store the information or data which is about riders, staff, horses and the attendance of different riders. The first
entity in this diagram is the rider. To support the daily operation of the whole organisation and get ready for the annual statistic report for the NZRDA,
the HGRDA's database would store the riders' personal information. The personal information about riders would involve riders' first name, riders' last
name, date of birth, ethnicity, disability detail, additional information and gender. Also, the table of riders in the HGRDA's database

Besides, the third entity in the E–R diagram shown above is the horse. Because the main business of the HGRDA is providing different horse riding
lesson with clients, the HGRDA has a demand in using the computerised system to manage the horse. As a result of this, the database would have a
horse table to store all the information about the horses owned by the HGRDA. In the horse table, a large variety of information would be stored,
which includes horses' names, ages, heights and status. In addition, to identify different data or information stored in the horse table, each horse
would have its own unique id. Additionally, the fourth entity is the staff. To manage the employee in the HGRDA in a more efficient way, the
information about the staff would be recorded in the database. The HGRDA's employees are not only made up of full time staff, but also some
volunteers. Because of this, there are two different staff types and the database would have two independent tables to store data. For the paid people,
the table of paid people would be used. In this table, the information about the staff's first name, last name, phone number, email address, and work
position would be stored. Then, for the volunteer, another table called the volunteer table would be used. This table would record the similar
information as the paid people table. Then, to identify different rows of data in the table easily, each staff would have a unique id. However, there

Scheduling Manufacturing Operations
ABSTRACT
Without true finite capacity scheduling, any implementation for manufacturing execution, whether it is ERP, SCM, or MES, cannot realize the goal of
enterprise efficiency and agility. All aspects of OM for manufacturing execution fall behind the lead of FCS, which is the bridge between planning and
execution. Real tangible return on assets rests with FCS.
INTRODUCTION
Integrating a diverse collection of resources to accomplish a goal is an issue that has faced humankind since the first city arose and food and services
needed to be provided to the populace. The modern challenge for operations management (OM) is the speed and volume that data is presented to OM
systems. This explosion of data holds the promise of efficiency ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
WHAT WAS OLD IS NEW AGAIN
As mentioned in the introduction, operations management has been, and remains, one of the greatest organizational challenges throughout history. OM
arises from the need to coordinate diverse resources to meet the needs of a complex system. The concept of the plan–execute–control model, a
"discovery" made by analysts in the late 1990's, appears in the historical records of systems management, one of the earliest mentions circa 4th
century BC in China. One of the more versatile models in modern systems management appeared in 1977 as a result of a joint effort between Dr J.S.
Lawson of the Naval Electronic Systems Command and Dr. Paul Moore of the Naval Postgraduate School. Figure 2 shows the Lawson–Moore model,
adapted by the author for general resource management.
SENSE is the collection of raw data or other collateral information about the observed environment. PROCESS takes the data through the inference
hierarchy, integrating data within the context of the tasks required of the managed resources. The situation as best can be determined with the
resources is then compared to the DESIRED STATE. The DESIRED STATE is the result of planning, which drives the allocation of resources to
tasks. The plan exists in generalities, except for enterprises where goals are achieved with simple tasks assigned to few or

Failure to manage a payroll effectively may cause many problems for the company and its employees. It could mean loss of money, integrity, and trust
between both parties.
Oftentimes, it takes many hours of work and manpower to get the job done. In certain cases, effective payroll management is compromised by the lack
of an effective system. Most companies may have enough manpower and resources. However, with an effective information technology, managing a
payroll will be simpler, cost–effective, timely and reliable.
One of the companies that use manual payroll system is the Arias Garments. It was established last September 18, 1994 at #88 Bargy. Latag, Lipa City,
under the management of Mr. Alex Arias together with his wife Mrs. Anita Carol Katigbak. It started with only forty machines and ten employees. The
capital of Arias Garments is Php 500,000.00. By 1996, Arias Garments became the subcontractor of Champan Garments. Champan Garments produce
and transport products like Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Tommy, and Hilfinger.
As of now, Arias Garments have 176 machines and 100 employees (40 regular and 60 contractual). 8:00AM is the time–in of employees, 4:00PM is
the time out, and they consider 8:15AM as late. Employees who are late or either log–out earlier than 4:00PM will have a deduction on their wages
(deduction is 0.61 per minutes late or under time). First offense, for late and employees who under time, will be given

Personal Statement On Decision And Risk Management
that I am really eager to take a learn about, and it is a class on decision and risk management. With that class I am hoping to gain the critical thinking
process needed to make big decisions financially and to lead my future employees and co–workers wisely when those decisions need to be made. I
know that to be a good engineer I will have to stay up to date on current events and advancements in the world of technology, and I believe that the
classes outlined in the academic plan of study will truly be a benefit to me in acquiring the necessary skills that this job will require. Although I have
researched the topic of my career choice in systems engineering extensively, I still have so many questions about it. I am eager to know how long it
will take for me to "climb the ladder" and work my way up through each job before I could potentially become something like a project manager. I
have decided to reach out to some people in this career that can better inform me on questions like this, because I want to fully know what it is that I
am getting into.
I know that to be a successful engineer, I will have to learn much more than just academic topics, and I am prepared to do so. I know I must learn
attention to detail, I must learn to make sense of hard and complex problems, I must learn to be a team player while leading along side of my
co–workers, and I must learn to form the excellent technical knowledge to figure out solutions to problems. A little mishap or error can ruin

What Are The Elastic And Electromagnetic Properties...
As shown in examples 1–3, the elastic and electromagnetic properties inverted in the individual inversion have a significant difference in the model
structures, and this may be caused by the accuracy of the initial models, the parameter contrast between the target objects and surroundings, the choice
of inverted frequencies or the arrangement of the acquisition system. Interpreting the structure of the study areas through these individual inversion
results is difficult. However, the explanation becomes easier when combining these results with the joint inversion. In the joint inversion, all the
parameter models resemble each other, and the boundaries of anomalies are constructed clearly. All the parameters are used to construct the final...

4.3 Error comparison
The errors of the inverted models were calculated to quantitatively compare the accuracy of individual and joint inversions. The errors within the
P–wave velocity and permittivity model are basically unchanged in the individual and joint inversions, whereas the error within the conductivity model
in the joint inversion is less than that in the individual inversion. As shown in the Example 1, the structures of P–wave velocity and permittivity model
are slightly altered in the joint inversion. Therefore, the errors in these two models also changed slightly. However, the structure and parameter values
of the conductivity model are significantly altered in the joint inversion in a way to significantly improve the error of this model. In this joint FWI
procedure, the cross–gradient terms are controlled by small weighting factors and cannot dominate the optimization of parameters. Therefore, the
structure of each model will change towards those of other models, if the enforced structural constraint is beneficial for the optimization process. In
contrast, the effect of structural constraint will decrease during iteration, if it hinders the

Structural Family Theory Literature Rev Essays
Structural Family Theory Literature Review
Structural family theory is a technique employed by social scientists that offers perspectives and tactics that strengthen and examine the familial unit
(Walsh, 2014). Developed by Salvador Minuchin, structural family theory looks at the unspoken rules within a family and how they affect the
organization of the unit. It is the job of the social worker to accurately identify the patterns, presented rules, and their effect on the family. Structural
family theory encompasses many concepts; a few of them being, subsystems, boundaries, and rules. Subsystems refers to the functional, normal
interactions and alliances between two or more members within a family system (Walsh, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important that there be a clear parent–child role distinction during the divorce process for the adolescent. Secondly, "adaptability refers to a
dimension of family flexibility in which the extremes are characterized by chaos and rigidity (Abelsohn, 1991)." According to the authors, it is
important that the parents create a new family structure similar to the preexisting structure to eliminate culture shock or discourage adaptability.
Though this may not be an option, it is important to the adolescent's adjustment health that the transition from one family structure be as seamless as
possible. Lastly, "generational hierarchy implies that the family is a hierarchical, 'non–democratic' organization (Adelsohn, 1991)." Along with these
three factors, the authors identified that adolescents who underwent therapy post–separation were better adjusted than those who did not receive
treatment.
Utilizing Structural Family Therapy and Systems Theory in the Business World Similar to a family unit, businesses operate and function off of a
balance of subsystems, rules, and authority. All organizations, at their foundation, mirror the structure and culture of a family system. Relative to the

Foreign Jennifer Bailey (March 11, 2008) stated that the provider will supply you with software for tracking each employee's pay rate, deductions, and
vocation time. Once you enter the information for the pay period, the software dials into the provider's server and transmits the information. Many
companies used a dedicated computer that is not connected to the company network; the direct connection to the provider is not susceptible to the
hackers, internet bugs, or internal snoops. Some providers also offer web based employee payroll data entry. You enter employee information on a
secure web page, which feeds directly to the provider. This method is gaining acceptance but is still less popular than modem–based communication.
Patricia Fusco (November 19, 2004) stated that the term "payroll" encompasses every employee of a company who receives a regular wages or other

Systems Model And Its Components Essay
Introduction Key performance indicators are utilized for the purpose of measuring the success of the organizational outcomes. An organization can use
key performance indicators measurements to evaluate areas, such as employee performance, employment turnover rates, or profit levels. The purpose
of this paper is to identify a systems model and its components, offer information about how systems model provides a comparison of different
organizations, discuss the Baldrige and AQIP programs, confer the difference between improving key performance indicators andsystem processes, and
pinpoint the difference between a study of organizational key performance indicators and a study of organizational processes.
A Systems Model and Its Components A system model is a model of a system broken down into subsystems. These subsystems make up a whole
organizational system; thus, they allow improvement in various areas ensuring that the organization is functioning according to its goals. Components
that make up an organizational system in a corporation that rely upon excellent customer service to measure growth include, evaluating the corporation
through its workers and feedback from customers. The stakeholder is the corporation and the stakeholder group is the workers. The process is customer

It ensures that clinical decisions are based on the most up to date information and promotes care that is safe and well organized. Clinical decision
support system CDSS helps healthcare providers make clinical decisions. Healthcare professionals use a CDSS to prepare a diagnosis and to review
the diagnosis to improve final results. The clinical system can help prevent errors, which can range from disease symptoms to drug interaction. The
clinician would input the information and wait for the CDSS to output the "right" choice and the clinician would simply act on that output. In addition,
the CDSS has a number of important benefits, including improved efficiency, cost benefits, and provider and patient satisfaction, avoidance of errors
and adverse events, increased quality of care and enhanced health outcomes. Epic system comes in handy for several departments in the hospital,
Emergency, Radiology, Operating Room, Intensive Care Unit, Nurse Triage and the Clinical Laboratory. In the Emergency Room Epics clinical
application can give instant access to comprehensive patient information. Having access to this information can reduce patients wait times and provide

Improper Building Maintenance Essay
In Malaysia, the idea of a specific and systematic facility audit for effectiveness, efficiency and performance is in early stages (Musa, 2012). The
awareness level from the society is very low. The costly repairs and maintenance may be done as a routine practices, but when the economy is booming
only emergency maintenance and repair is attempted (Musa, 2012). (Zunguzane, Smallwood, & Emuze, 2012) added that, the damages and costly
repair works are the causes from the improper building maintenance. This has shown us that the main concern was not executed for the maintenance
works for the available facilities in Malaysia.
The purpose of building maintenance is essentially to retain its values for investment, aesthetic, safety, durability, with a view to ensuring that the
property is fit for its purposes and to the satisfaction of the owner(s)/users (Brennan, 2010). Furthermore, effective, efficient and quality are essential
aspects in the building maintenance. The non–perform of the significant aspects caused the failure of a building maintenance. Zunguzane et al., (2012)
describe the non–perform of significant aspects caused the dissatisfaction of client and/or building occupants.
Moreover, the non–perform of essential aspects can result in delays in building maintenance projects and the need for rework, which can result in a
significant financial loss. Effective, efficient and quality focuses on eliminating defects and variations and seeks to avoid waste of time,

Introduction
Researches in learning assessment, especially in terms of academic performance, have long criticized traditional rating schemes that provide feedback
to students. Because learning is multi–faceted, most critiques of such formats tend to see these as superficial and inadequate arguing that they tend to
cover only the areas in learning that are widely rated, leaving other areas in learning under–assessed. As a result, different systems were proposed and
varying rating structures were employed by different schools in the country such as point system averaging and weighted averaging. This school year,

The hotel industry is perhaps, one of the oldest commercial endeavours in the world. The first inns date back to the sixth century be and were the
products of the urge to travel, spurred by the invention of the wheel.
The earliest hotels were managed by husband and wife teams, who provided large halls for travellers to make their own bed and sleep on the floor.
The entire cooking service and recreation were provided by the husband and wife team and his family.
It was in Europe that the birth of well managed hotel industry took place on the shape of chalets and small hotels which provided variety of services.
They were mainly patronized by the aristocracy of the day.
The real growth of the modern hotel industry took place in the United State of America in 1794. the real boom in hotel building came in the early
twentieth century. This period also saw the beginning of chain operation under the guidance of E.M stalker. It involved big investments, big profit and

London Ambulance Service Of A Computerized System

  • 1. London Ambulance Service Of A Computerized System LONDON AMBULANCE SERVICE COMPUTER AIDED DISPATCH SERVICE FAILURE London Ambulance Service (LAS), as the name suggests is a medical emergency service for dispatching ambulances and operating in London. In October 1992, the LAS switched from their prior manual system to a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system. However, a lot of flaws led to this system's failure. The software engineering process from my perspective and my approach for handling such a project is illustrated below: REQUIREMENTS GATHERING AND PLANNING What happened: The funding for the development of a computerized system was done in 1974; however the development remained stagnant for a long period of time until the 13 years later, when the first system was developed. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lack of informing the stakeholders the risks of the project, absence of communications with all the involved stakeholders, misunderstanding of the software process by the software manager and the software developers also. This affected the requirement gathering, planning, documentation as well as the implementation. My approach: The fundraisers, in this case the LAS management, should be made aware of the pros and cons of meeting their requirements. The software managers who play an important role can correctly estimate these factors based on their experience. Hence if I was in charge of choosing the software managers and the company, I would prefer a company at with experience at the cost of cheaper software, taking into consideration that delivering a flawless product is more important than a flawed inexpensive one. The cost of people's lives can't be put to stake in this case. If I was on the other side of receiving a contract for the development of a system with limited resources in terms of hardware, time and money, I would try to present the risks of implementation according to the impossible requirements. If System Options, the company that rejected the deal, presenting the risks of doing so, just like the other companies, then the stakeholders, who had little idea of the cost of their requirements, would have reconsidered their funding or the stringent requirements and the root cause of the disaster would have been avoided. • 2. Electronic Device : An Object That Is Controlled By A... I.Introduction How many people do you know that do not have some sort of electronic device? The definition of electronic device is "an object that is controlled by a computerized system" ("Merriam–Webster.com", 2015). In the society that we live in today electronics are becoming a necessity in school and sometimes in the work environment. This raises the question of why are we becoming dependent upon electronics, when they may end up hurting us academically. Students who spend more time on electronic devices may spend less on homework or other assignments that require more attention and thought out responses. Schools are starting to make a lot of assignments due through email and or a school sponsored website (ex. blackboard). There are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are also, "reflowable e–textbooks which use a flexible format system that includes dynamic media and allows the user to modify both the layout and interactive features of the e–textbook to suit the display medium" (Chesser, 2011). With this being said, it is important to have valid information on this particular topic because if it is not affecting students in a positive way then it should not be continued. 1.Background/Review of the Literature: This is a very popular study that has been done over the last few years because of the rise in electronic use in the education system. One study was done by a group of people sponsored by Liberty University (Rockinson–Szapkiw, Courduff, Carter, & Bennett (2013)). These group of students took a sample size of 538 university students and examined the relationships between textbook format, grades, and perceived learning scores. The results found were that students who used e–textbooks had higher levels of affective and psychomotor learning, but there were no notable differences in cognitive learning nor did final grades suggests that e–textbooks may have an effect in their learning. Another study looked at the relationship between academic performance and the use of computer technology. This was conducted by three students at Washburn University (Drain, Grier, and Sun (2012)). The three researchers concluded that an increase in computer usage was correlated with improvements in academic performance overall. Based on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. A Brief Note On The Computerized Patient Record System Essay Introduction & Assessment The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) operates one of the largest nationwide healthcare systems. (Tsai, 2012). In 1998 the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) was released at a national level. (Lovis, 2011). CPRS has been made possible because of the extensive set of clinical and administrative application within VistA. VistA is the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture. It is VA 's Health Information Technology (IT) system. It provides an integrated inpatient and outpatient electronic health record for VA patients, and administrative tools to help VA deliver quality medical care to Veterans. (Lovis, 2011). CPRS organizes and presents all relevant data on a patient to support clinical decision–making. It allows clinicians to interact with the patient's data, add problems, notes and enter orders. It supports alerts, notification and guidelines. (Lovis, 2011). The adaption of VistA to CPRS, the new addition to this was My HealtheVet portal. My HealtheVet is a secure website. The VA follows strict security policies and practices to make sure that your personal health information is safe and protected. The My HealtheVet Program is based on the core belief that knowledgeable patients are better able to make informed healthcare choices, stay healthy, and seek services when needed. • 4. Computerized Timekeeping System For An Electronic Gps System Abstract The following paper is about a group of employees working for a company moving from a manual timekeeping system to an electronic timekeeping system. These staff members are resisting the new electronic timekeeping system, and have a bad attitude on this subject, not understanding why there has to be changes in the system they are currently using. Three trainers have been selected to change the workers attitude and train them to be proficient with the new electronic timekeeping system. There are three basic methods of training that can be used to get the employees onboard with the new electronic timekeeping system. The three trainers met to review the different methods and discuss which method would be the best method of training for this group of individuals. The trainers started the process by reviewing and discussing the lecture method of training. Once discussing this method, it was decided that this was not the proper training method for this group of individuals. Some people find this type of training boring and become disengaged early in the training, resulting in poor training results. Next the trainers reviewed the experiential training method and reviewed the four–step process of training. The trainers thought they might get positive feedback from this type of training, but then decided that if the employees were not interested in learning a new system, case studies and role playing might not go as the trainers planned. The trainers felt they might ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

King's Theory of Goal Attainment bring a great concentration on the accomplishments of certain life goals and this can only happen if the nurse and the patient has the capacity to communicate and work together, and only then these life goals can be achieved (George, 2011). Levine's model encourages the use of adaptation and maintains integrity, energy through the process of conservation. This is can be done with the help of nursing care and nursing involvements. With encouraging conservation, a nurse can assist in promoting the person's well– being (George, 2011). Kings Conceptual System Theory King had many believe based on his Conceptual System Theory, he believes that each person views and interprets the world as an entire being in making transactions with individuals and things in their surroundings. The word "Operation" is usually linked with "Maintenance". To put these terms in context, Operation is the performance of work or services and the provision of materials and energy to ensure the day–to–day proper functioning of an asset, e.g., the work activities, associated chemicals and electricity to run a water treatment plant. As such, it has a direct but simple impact on the cost of operating an asset. • 15. Dorothy Johnson's Theory Of The Behavioral System Model The behavioral system model is a model developed by Dorothy Johnson. This theory was influenced by Florence Nightingale's book titled notes on nursing and was developed using work of behavioral scientists in many disciplines such as psychology, sociology, and ethnology. This theory explains that nurse's specific contribution to patient welfare is to foster an "efficient and effective behavioral functioning in the person, before, during, and after an illness. The theory sees a person as a system in which its parts interrelate with each other to form a whole to perform its functions. These interrelated and interdependent parts are called subsystem which is analyzed and described in term of structural and functional requirement. There are seven subsystems – attachment, attachment–affiliation, aggressive–protective, dependency, ingestive, eliminative, and sexual with each of them interrelated with the others and its environment for three functional requirements – protection, nurturance, and stimulation. The four structural elements of the subsystem include the following: drive (the ultimate cause of behavior), set (a tendency or predisposition to act in a certain way), choice (behavior to use in a certain situation) and action (behavior of an individual). These requirements must be met through a person's efforts or with the outside assistance of the nurse to maintain the integrity of the behavioral system. • 20. The Theory Of Goal Attainment In 1981 Imogene King introduced her mid–range Theory of Goal Attainment (this theory has also been referred to as the theory of goal achievement (Johnson and Webber, 2010)). This theory is based on the grand theory called the Conceptual System, also created by King (Frey et al: 2002). To understand the more focused mid–range theory it is important to first quickly understand the conceptual system. The conceptual system was created using systems analysis and systems theory literature (Johnson and Webber, 2010). It was originally referred to as a conceptual framework, but King changed the terminology in 1997 to Conceptual System (Frey et al, 2002). The conceptual system focused on decision making in nursing. It is organized around three systems; Personal Systems which pertain to the individual, Interpersonal Systems which pertain to small groups, and Social Systems which pertain to the society as a whole. King saw these three interacting systems as part of the larger decision making process of human beings (Frey et al, 2002). The Theory of Goal Attainment is a middle range theory derived from King's Conceptual System. The Theory of Goal Attainment focuses on the interactions between the personal, interpersonal, and social systems. Frey et al (2002) describes the central concepts of the theory as "perception, communication, interaction, transaction, self, role, growth and development, stressors/stress, time, and space." • 21. How the Use of Computerized Management Systems to Record... Explain how the use of computerized management systems to record administrative data can increase quality of care in a given situation. Having a single view of the patient and their treatment and recovery plan is invaluable in ascertaining which are the most and least effective tactics in treatment. The 360–degree view of the patient and the many processes supporting them is crucial for increasing the accuracy, effectiveness and performance of treatment programs over time (Blakeman, 1985). Computerized management systems are critical for organizing, analyzing and translating the massive amount of data captured on patients, treatment and recovery processes, and the use of supporting IT systems to optimize patient health and organizational provider performance (Peshek, Cubera, Gleespen, 2010). The ability to aggregate and intelligently use all available data, information, patient–based and process–generated data to deliver higher levels of quality care is possible when computerized management systems are used throughout healthcare organizations. Provide a credible and well–supported explanation of using the computerized management systems could increase quality of care. The goal of an CPOE system is to reduce healthcare cost by reducing the number of errors, increasing medication safety. With every new product there will always be some unexpected problems that may surface. In regards to CPOE those unexpected problems are referred to as Unintended Adverse Consequences or UAC. According to Sittig & Ash, 2011 UAC's are events that are neither anticipated or unanticipated, they are simply unfortunate mistakes that happens along the way. Altogether they are nine UAC's they range from: never ending system demands, more/new work for clinicians, paper persistence, changes in communication patterns and practices, new kinds of error, change in the power structure, workflow issues, emotions, overdependence on technology (Sittig & Ash, 2011). UAC's can have a huge impact on the implementation as well as the ongoing maintenance of the system. As a result, UAC's can have a negative outcome when it comes to the patient, cause medical cost to be higher and even unforeseen medical errors. • 24. What Is Computerized System Learning? What is computerized system learning? Computerized learning is essentially the usage of a computer based learning assistance program for education. Prior to the onset of technology in the classroom and in higher education, the learning in the classroom started with someone writing on a chalkboard and then posing a question or making a statement, also known as the chalk and talk method. That was the norm. Today that has changed. Technology and Computerized Systems learning has made learning on the university level more convenient and accessible then ever. To begin let's start when "technology" was first getting integrated into the classroom setting. In 1890 the latest and greatest technology was the chalkboard. In 1920s the invention and fascination of the Radio led to an never before used type of learning on– air classes a precursor what we use today with online learning. By the early 1970s a modern day classroom staple – the Scantron was making its way into schools across America. And finally the computer, which was introduced to classroom in the mid 80s with laptop by Toshiba and Apple's PowerBook. By 1993 daily computer usage was reaching a level close to what we see today when the PDA was launched on society by Apple computers. Furthermore until the launch on what became known as Plato in the mid 1970s education had been influenced by Technology but had yet to computerize technology become an integral part of the educational system. What this means is by use of handheld barcode scanners or radio frequency identifier (RFID) tagged bracelets a patient can be properly identified along with the medication that is being administered. This verifies you have the RIGHT patient and the RIGHT medication that is order for the patient, thus significantly reducing medication errors. Another way to improve a patient's quality of care is with the integration of handheld devices by the nursing staff. An example is the use of a PDA or tablet. Many healthcare providers are using these items today. These items allow for increased quality of care allow the physician to access, ordering and review from almost anywhere. They also allow for real–time documentation; meaning with a PDA or tablet, a physician can be with their patient at the patients bedside placing orders and making notes on the chart, not waiting until after the examination and after talking with the patient then going to the chart and making notes and placing orders based off memory. But due to the lack of integration in available tools, technologies and limited relevant hardware availability, it is very difficult to produce a system which can be controlled fully as desired. The motivation behind this research was to propose, design and implement a home automation system i.e. Smart House; a computerized and digitally mobile home automation system towards electric appliance control and security system. Using 488 International Journal of Emerging Sciences, 1(3), 487–503, September 2011 developed system, a house's electric appliances can be controlled via computer and mobile manually, automatically or by scheduling operations e.g. automatically turning on or off switches at particular date and time. Furthermore it requires the proposition and implementation of a security system for not only tracking the interruption but also intelligently taking immediate responses. This proposition can lead to many benefits in terms of its usage by saving time, improving security and reducing electricity usage by limiting the unnecessary use of electric appliances e.g. some lights are turned on every night and need to be turned off early morning which can be scheduled. It can also be very beneficial, in case if the user is a special /disabled person, then he or she can control the electric appliances without going to the every switch by foot. Due to its mobile use, it could be very use full for busy persons or those who normally forget things e.g. if some
