editing
1. During the first half of my editing process, I sifted and sorted through my footage
for usable material (e.g. I cut out clips with shaky camera work, or, dodgy lip syncing
moments performed by the puppets. I also matched up the music playing on in the
background of each music video with the actual track, so that the dance moves of
my actors/puppets were in sync as well as the singing.
2. During shots were the light was a
little too desaturated, I used the
curve tool to increase the
darkness and therefore blend out
some grain, and then increase
some of the lighter tones to make
a contrast with the blacks, whites
and reds.
3. This created some grain, so, using the ‘Smart blur’
tool, I was able to blur out large areas but still keep
the line art.
4. As is the case with most of the
photography footage, I opted to
edit it using After Effects
By stretching the image’s size, I have
managed to get rid of the visible
corner of the photography studio set.
After gain using the curve tool to
edit the contrast between the
colours, this is the finished result
5. Also, nearing the end of the editing, I have began
editing the tracks out of the song (something I really
should have done earlier) for the sake of space on my
memory stick
